As one of the items on the menu for my three day birthday weekend... we needed to stop at Post Boy. I didn't know much about it. I'm glad we came! The patio was perfect! My family and I had a great lunch here 4th of July weekend. We waited 20 min for a table for 3... we should've made reservations. We had the som tom, market vegetable (zucchini) skewer, and chicken thighs. Everything was excellent! The dishes were comforting and familiar, yet still interesting and complex. Fun combinations of flavors and textures. We were really pleased with the meal. Service was great and the food came out quickly. The interior design was fun and nice- beach modern. PostBoy is one of the best meals I've had in awhile. It was creative, different, fresh, and every single thing tasted great. My gf and I sat at the bar and loved the decor and vibe of the patio. There was a complaint by an older couple at the bar about service but funny enough I had no trouble getting service simply by speaking up. Really lovely experience and everything was delicious but the Halibut Al Pastor is one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. Price wise it's not cheap, but it's far and away worth it being in New Buffalo. read more

This is the best restaurant experience my wife and I have had in a very, very long time - anywhere. PostBoy has an easy-going and family-friendly vibe, while also having a great atmosphere for couples and friend-group outings. The service was outstanding, and the food was even better. Ben, the owner, was at the table next to us with his wife & another couple - he walked over and gave us several recommendations without even mentioning that he owned the place - just a cool, classy, good guy, who treated our waiter and all of the staff tremendously well. Lastly, and of course importantly the food was the best we have had in years. It was an outstanding date night, we'll be back again and again, and with our whole family next time. Cute trendy spot opened by 2 Chicago-area restauranteurs! The menu is just the right size, you feel like you have options without feeling overwhelmed by the amount of items on the menu. They have a full bar so even though the Bloody Mary wasn't on the menu, we had one and it was delish. There were 2 of us so we ordered the items to share, details on items below: -Trout tostada: this was our favorite item we tried. It comes with one tostada but the flavors and fresh herbs were impressive - it had the right amount of spice where you felt it but didn't leave your mouth burning. So fresh and will be thinking about it for awhile -Caesar: relatively standard Caesar with cheese it crumbs, the lettuce was fresh and crispy. We really enjoyed this! -Chicken thighs: this was a BBQ chicken with Indian flavor twist and comes with a couple paratha and a yogurt sauce. Really enjoyed this! We came in right when they opened at noon on a Sunday so service was good and attentive. Overall, really pleased with the food. What a cute spot in downtown New Buffalo! We went to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed the robust selection of tapas to try a lot of different menu items. There are some large plates if your party prefers to not share as well. One of my favorite things on their menu was a pretty decent selection of non-alcoholic drinks. They had NA beers, mocktails, and no spirit spirits. My husband ordered a phony Negroni and it was absolutely incredible. In terms of food, we loved everything we ordered. We ordered the Italian beef corn dog and scallop skewer. Definitely good choices! The corn dog was spicy and quite delicious. The flavors were just really good. My husband and I were on the west side of Michigan for the weekend and enjoyed exploring New Buffalo. We were happy to find out that Postboy has a very dog friendly patio. There were multiple pups including our big boy. Our waiter Cray was great! Before we knew he was our server, he offered us some water for our pup. The humans got water too. There was a little bit of a wait. When we were seated, Cray was our waiter! The restaurant gives me Palm Springs vibes with the pastels. Such a great vibe. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. We started off with lucid moments and glasshouse rules. Lucid moments was strong but good, especially if you like tequila. The glasshouse rules is the perfect summer drink. For appetizers, we got the trout tostada and the smoked trout dip. The trout tostada was so fresh and soooo good. If you like sashimi, hands down you need to order this. What a cute place!! We did a day trip from Chicago and was planning on dining at Stray Dog (since we had our puppers with us and it seemed fitting) but couldn't pass up how cute PostBoy was! It was pretty hot out under the sun so we were super grateful for umbrellas and covered patio seating. They were super accommodating with our dog and even got him his own glass of ice cubes! We shared the melon stracciatella for our appetizer and it left me speechless. The honeydew was incredibly sweet and refreshing especially on a hot day. I wasn't too sure how everything would play together.. prosciutto and burrata with sweet fruit but it worked and it worked well. For our mains, we had the chicken sando and smash burger. We were in awe of how big both were. I'm always a burger girly but to my surprise, I favored the the chicken sando over the smash patty. It had great flavor and the breading wasn't too thick and had the perfect crisp. The burger was tasty as well but there wasn't anything that stood out besides the boom boom sauce (spicy thousand island). PostBoy is a solid option in New Buffalo. A note of caution- my daughter ordered the cheeseburger and it came out with a sesame seed bun. Delicious add for an adult, but my 7 year old likes plain buns. So if you have a picky kid, you may want to choose another option. Carrot dish was certainly a hit for my vegetarian wife. The food comes out in any order and I wanted to try the skewer after we began eating. I put in the order later and it took a while to receive. Pro tip: order all your food at the same time. The management team reached out to us to ensure our experience was good after the issue with the skewer. I appreciate the attention to customer service. I would recommend if you are staying in the new Buffalo area and want a solid meal with a cool ambiance. read more

I'm not sure I get the fusion here. I'm definitely no expert I just know what I like. These flavors didn't do it for me. The tostada was not at all what I'd expected not in a good way either. The mushroom skewer was tiny and also not much flavor. The chicken thighs were an exuberant $28, I mean it's chicken with naan. Not worth it. The fries are ok, a bit too much seasoning. The best part was the garlic aioli that came with the fries. The smoked trout dip would be good with something other than potato chips. Also there was no smoky flavor to it. The ambience is beautiful but the flavors didn't hit for me. Even the kids meal was expensive, $12 for a small bowl of buttered noodles. Over $100 for 2 adults and 1 child with no drinks for lunch. Looooved the place! I take overall vibe and aesthetics of the restaurant into much consideration, and the ambiance was on point. On top of that, the staffs were very nice and friendly to guide us through each items on the menu and we were able to comprehend well. Plus they had mobile menu that included each pic of food. The food was also amazing! I loved that their food had different kind of cuisines. I especially enjoyed their yuzu soju cocktail, which was the perfect drink for a sweet tooth (and I was not able to taste any bitterness, tasted like yuzu juice!). Biang biang shrimp was my favorite, a little tangy and crispy. Bbq carrot was what surprised both of us because it tasted so savory and soft. After dining, they gave us a postcard that you could mail it from the restaurant! That experience was cherry on top. A cutesy restaurant with unique food - we stopped in here to avoid the rain and grabbed some drinks and apps. We got the French fries and chicken skewer. Both were very good. They have little booster chairs that attaches to the table for the kiddos which was nice for my 2 y/o as well as a kids menu. Our server was super nice and had great recommendations. Although it was rainy, their outdoor area looks fun - they have plenty of tables/chairs, fireplace, merch truck. Oh! And a bonus - they give you a postcard when you pay your bill that you can keep or write a message and they mail it to you (or whoever you address it to). Can't wait to try their patio in the summer, and thought it was cool they still had the patio fire pits blazing on a cold snowy winter day. Service was phenomenal, so friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive. Food and drinks were delish. My only complaint was the fries were a soggy/softer style, I personally prefer a crispier fry myself, but the dipping sauce it came with was mouth watering. Burger was well seasoned and the chicken thighs practically melted in your mouth. We had 2 of their "most popular" scoops and the key lime pie and I personally wasn't a fan of any of them. The lemon ricotta scoop was bland and the corn scoop tasted like candy corn. We can't say enough positive things about Post Boy and their staff. What drew us in the most out of other local restaurants was their detailed allergen menu. Our daughter has a dairy allergy and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The GM and our server (I wish I remembered her name) first began by asking us what we had in mind for a meal for our daughter - we gave suggestions and they hit it out of the park! They made her a chicken thigh kebab, steamed bok choy and a humungous bowl of blueberries and strawberries. They weren't rigid with menu items and showed incredible flexibility. We ended our meal with dairy free tangerine sherbert ice cream. So good - we came back the next day for another couple scoops! Other than our daughter's meal - we loved the food we picked. My husband had the short rib, I had the baing being shrimp and we shared the fries. Everything was amazing, but we both agreed the shrimp was 10/10 and the portion was generous. We also had a couple of cocktails and they did not disappoint. The restaurant was beautiful, great music and everyone was very welcoming. I think it was just an off-experience at this usually superb from start-to-finish restaurant. Some of our usual go-tos appetizers were uninspired. The sourdough salad basically was no salad (usually arugula?) and a mass of fennel frond stalks. I think the kitchen may have been running out of some things. I don't expect the person running the food out to our table to question the kitchen staff handing them the food, about why it didn't look right. There were other menu items not available - this at the end of a long weekend for the restaurant in a very hectic town. The sweet potato seemed like it was maybe the side sweet potato, not the usual "are we at Avec?" sweet potato or carrot . Definitely not how it was first served to us in Dec 2024, or since. Plus unusually sweet. The waitress was attentive, but seemed - uncharacteristically for Post Boy- disinterested and not eager to engage. Again, long day, long Summer weekend. Went to Post Boy today for the first time. Very nice staff and able to walk in and get seats at the bar for a little day drinking right away. Asked if there were purse hooks for purses and talked about how they are a helpful convenience with the bartender. 5 minutes later, here comes this guy (I think the owner) to cater to our every need!! WHOA, PostBoy feels like an oasis that could have been airlifted in from the West Coast, but with less ego and stronger cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, I ordered one that looked like an art installation and tasted like something Meghann Fahy would sip on in a show where everyone has a trust fund and a secret. The whole menu is on fire, offering food that is elevated without being fussy. We tried a little bit of everything and it clearly showcases the chef's serious talent without him needing to shout about culinary school or foam. A few standouts included the fried chicken sandwich which was incredible. It was so crispy, juicy, and perfectly dressed that it deserved a salute to the little flag on top and a moment of silence between bites. The guava cinnamon roll was another must order. Gooey, tangy, and tasting like a tropical vacation meeting a Parisian pastry, it has completely ruined all other brunch sweets for me. Even the fries were absolutely perfect.
