Looooved the place! I take overall vibe and aesthetics of the restaurant into much consideration, and the ambiance was on point. On top of that, the staffs were very nice and friendly to guide us through each items on the menu and we were able to comprehend well. Plus they had mobile menu that included each pic of food. The food was also amazing! I loved that their food had different kind of cuisines. I especially enjoyed their yuzu soju cocktail, which was the perfect drink for a sweet tooth (and I was not able to taste any bitterness, tasted like yuzu juice!). Biang biang shrimp was my favorite, a little tangy and crispy. Bbq carrot was what surprised both of us because it tasted so savory and soft. After dining, they gave us a postcard that you could mail it from the restaurant! That experience was cherry on top. Every town needs a foodie destination, and I am grateful Postboy has set up camp in New Buffalo. They've got an excellent patio and are matching it with excellent eats. Yes, the price tag is higher, and you get what you pay for: high quality. I shared the fries, 'shroom skewer, and bbq carrots, and I'd order all three again in a heartbeat. Delish! A cutesy restaurant with unique food - we stopped in here to avoid the rain and grabbed some drinks and apps. We got the French fries and chicken skewer. Both were very good. They have little booster chairs that attaches to the table for the kiddos which was nice for my 2 y/o as well as a kids menu. Our server was super nice and had great recommendations. Although it was rainy, their outdoor area looks fun - they have plenty of tables/chairs, fireplace, merch truck. Oh! And a bonus - they give you a postcard when you pay your bill that you can keep or write a message and they mail it to you (or whoever you address it to). The hype is real, ya'll. Finally had a chance to try New Buffalo's new hot spot, PostBoy, and they did not disappoint. The space is beautiful, inside and out. Can't wait to try their patio in the summer, and thought it was cool they still had the patio fire pits blazing on a cold snowy winter day. Service was phenomenal, so friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive. Food and drinks were delish. My only complaint was the fries were a soggy/softer style, I personally prefer a crispier fry myself, but the dipping sauce it came with was mouth watering. Burger was well seasoned and the chicken thighs practically melted in your mouth. Adorable restaurant, extremely busy even during the week. We were able to snag spots at the bar luckily. The bar was honestly just really chaotic. The patio looked like the cool spot to sit! Pretty expensive for the portion size. However, this is top tier quality food and flavors. These were some of the most delicious wings I have ever had. We had 2 of their "most popular" scoops and the key lime pie and I personally wasn't a fan of any of them. The lemon ricotta scoop was bland and the corn scoop tasted like candy corn. The key lime pie was interesting but tasted like the crust was burned (unintentionally). The salted whip/topping was a good touch though. Would consider coming back for the food though. read more

Went to Post Boy today for the first time. Very nice staff and able to walk in and get seats at the bar for a little day drinking right away. WHOA, PostBoy feels like an oasis that could have been airlifted in from the West Coast, but with less ego and stronger cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, I ordered one that looked like an art installation and tasted like something Meghann Fahy would sip on in a show where everyone has a trust fund and a secret. The whole menu is on fire, offering food that is elevated without being fussy. We tried a little bit of everything and it clearly showcases the chef's serious talent without him needing to shout about culinary school or foam. A few standouts included the fried chicken sandwich which was incredible. It was so crispy, juicy, and perfectly dressed that it deserved a salute to the little flag on top and a moment of silence between bites. The guava cinnamon roll was another must order. Gooey, tangy, and tasting like a tropical vacation meeting a Parisian pastry, it has completely ruined all other brunch sweets for me. Even the fries were absolutely perfect. She offered recommendations, checked on us often, and went above and beyond. And finally the star of the show - the food. It was exceptional! We ordered the smoked trout dip, my wife had the Fried Chicken Sando (whatever a Sando is) and I ordered the Chicken thighs with whatever all that scribble is under the description. The food came rather quick, we probable had one taste of the dip then the main entree came. The entrees were pretty good, huge chicken sando and the thighs were good but messy. I think it was just an off-experience at this usually superb from start-to-finish restaurant. Some of our usual go-tos appetizers were uninspired. The sourdough salad basically was no salad (usually arugula?) and a mass of fennel frond stalks. I think the kitchen may have been running out of some things. I don't expect the person running the food out to our table to question the kitchen staff handing them the food, about why it didn't look right. There were other menu items not available - this at the end of a long weekend for the restaurant in a very hectic town. The sweet potato seemed like it was maybe the side sweet potato, not the usual "are we at Avec?" sweet potato or carrot . Definitely not how it was first served to us in Dec 2024, or since. Plus unusually sweet. The waitress was attentive, but seemed - uncharacteristically for Post Boy- disinterested and not eager to engage. Again, long day, long Summer weekend. I was in town visiting my brother-in-law and father who live in the new Buffalo area, and they were telling me about this wonderful new restaurant that just opened with a rotating/diverse menu and warm/inviting setting. when I first walked in, I couldn't help a notice the big smiles on all the employees and patrons, and the very purposeful architecture set up to create a mold of a very happy place, without making too much of a show of it. The three of us are pretty big eaters so we tried a variety of plates, including the chicken thighs, chicken sandwich, shrimp, barbecue carrot, and their homemade fries. However, I think for me there were two highlights. First was the trout tostada which was impeccably made, and a had very unique flavor profile that I've never encountered before. Secondly was their Keylime pie, which had a very unique dark crust with a lot of flavor and starting to it, but they did not hold back on the portion of the slice itself. Additionally, the old-fashioned I ordered was one of the deepest I've been served in recent memory for the price. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I'm looking forward to coming back soon to try their skewers and the Italian Beef corn dog. A small really cool thing they do too is that every person can send a postcard to someone at the end of the meal, for which I wrote one to my wife and kids thanking them to encourage us to go out for a guys night. read more

The food was its own mix of flavors. The kids menu was a surprise because when you think of a kid's menu you think of soggy burger or soggy everything and only rarely is it good. It's the perfect lunch and dinner but not always breakfast. I don't recommend five or under for the regular menu for some of the things on the menu but you can be surprised. read more

PostBoy has only been open a couple months but it felt like a lot longer because everything was so well done. The interior space is very nice. And in the summer, the outdoor space looks it will be fantastic. Service was friendly, fast and professional. The fries are excellent. Very crispy and spiced, along with a side of aioli. Our table had the burger, the chicken sandwich and the haddock. All were excellent. As an added bonus, you get to watch the Amtrak train go by. All the kids in the place loved it. We can't say enough positive things about Post Boy and their staff. What drew us in the most out of other local restaurants was their detailed allergen menu. Our daughter has a dairy allergy and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The GM and our server (I wish I remembered her name) first began by asking us what we had in mind for a meal for our daughter - we gave suggestions and they hit it out of the park! They made her a chicken thigh kebab, steamed bok choy and a humungous bowl of blueberries and strawberries. They weren't rigid with menu items and showed incredible flexibility. We ended our meal with dairy free tangerine sherbert ice cream. So good - we came back the next day for another couple scoops! Other than our daughter's meal - we loved the food we picked. My husband had the short rib, I had the baing being shrimp and we shared the fries. Everything was amazing, but we both agreed the shrimp was 10/10 and the portion was generous. We also had a couple of cocktails and they did not disappoint. The restaurant was beautiful, great music and everyone was very welcoming. I wasn't sure I was going to like this place, and was actually pretty sure I wasn't going to, but I was pleasantly surprised. EVERYTHING that we tried on their menu was REALLY good, even the children's meal for our 3 year old daughter, which I ate half of. I was expecting the service to be bad, or at least annoying, but it was actually really good, especially considering that it's a newer restaurant and they were packed. I will hand it to them...Everyone from the hostess, to the bar, to the kitchen, and our waitress seemed to be really on top of their game. The restaurant is also really nice, with what appears to be a great outside patio, although with the temperature being 20 degrees tonight, there was obviously no one eating outside. In an area that regularly sees new restaurants struggle from day #1 due to bad luck, mediocre food, and/or not enough business income to be able to keep their businesses properly staffed while maintaining a consistently good product, I don't think any of that will be an issue for this place, especially considering that it was packed (full) during the first week of January in a town whose businesses largely rely on seasonal clientele, and this is obviously the off-season. I suspect that in mid-July, it will be near impossible to get a table at this place on the weekend, but good for them...It's refreshing to see a new restaurant in the area that has their act together so well, right out of the gate. Congrats to PostBoy...I will definitely be back! EDIT: After the amazing experience that I had here, I did some digging, because I suspected that this place was far too well put together to be someone's first restaurant, and sure enough, the ownership and management have ties to some big name restaurants in Chicago such as Big Star, Alinea, Blackbird, and others, so it's no wonder that this place is already off to such a good start. read more

Postboy is a great addition to New Buffalo. It is a modern, more upscale restaurant than what the town is used to. It is smaller inside, but it looks like the patio will be great in the summertime. My boyfriend and I ordered the baked potato gnocchi, the garganelli, and the Kennebec fries. The gnocchi was very good- it reminded us of a baked potato soup. It was on the smaller side.
