This place is great. it's busy, but the atmosphere, while more modern, has a similar feel to the Arcadia location. Tonight we had quite slow service to start and the apologetic server comped our first round of drinks even though we weren't angry about it. This place is ugh-mazing. I come here often and love the service, the wine, the people and especially the bruschetta. Not to mention the brunch is incredible too! Yes, sometimes the wait is a little long, but I promise you, IT'S WORTH THE WAIT. I've been to a couple of other imitation locations and they don't even come close. Postinos East is a MUST-GO if you're looking for a girls night out, romantic dinner setting, double date night, sexy brunch time :-) ...whatever the occassion. We've had several small group bday celebrations here. Anything over 8 people is tough for them but they usually make it work. The outside grassy area is perfect for a picnic lunch or dinner. You bring the blanket and they bring the service. You can also arrange large parties out there but I think you pay/order all the tables and chairs. What a great experience! Our server, Bethany was extremely helpful with menu alterations to accommodate my wife's egg, wheat, and dairy allergies. We ended up ordering a couple of bruscheta items served on tomato slices instead of bread and humus in place of the cheese. We would never have thought of those alternatives, but the end result was fantastic! No compromise on flavor or presentation. A second challenge for Postino's on this occasion (met equally well BTW) was our time constraint. We had tickets for a play at the Hale Theater, next door, and due the the long wait to get seated we had less than an hour to order and dine. I had called the night before and had been told Friday evenings could be very busy around 5 pm; was advised to arrive earlier if we wanted to be finished dining by 7. We arrived at 5:15 and immediately regretted not heeding the advice. We waited a little over an hour to be seated. I told Bethany about our time crunch and she handled it incredibly well. She didn't get flustered or irritated. She calmly and patiently explained options to accommodate allergies and delivered our meal very quickly. OK, we also appreciated the atmosphere/ambiance/decor etc. but I will leave that to other reviewers. We went here for Sunday brunch (9-1). It's a really open air restaurant. The front 'door' of the restaurant opens widely and there are long couches opening out onto the covered patio. It was easy to imagine sitting there with friends sharing wine and appetizers. The patio goes around the sides and towards the back there is a little grassy area that I imagine is pretty packed at Happy Hour. The menu, food presentation, and décor really make it feel like eating at a European bistro. We sat on the side of the patio. The road noise was a little bothersome - next time I would sit farther back on the patio. (Note, we arrived at 8:50 so the restaurant was pretty empty and quiet at first - that may have made the road noise more noticeable.) We were also right under a speaker -- some other reviewers have commented about the music being too loud. I would imagine with our table location at peak time, conversation might have been tough. Hubby had the bruschetta ($13.50) - Brie & Apples with Fig Spread, Ricotta with Dates & Pistachios, Prosciutto with Figs & Mascarpone, Burrata, Bacon, Arugula & Tomatoes. The bread was outstanding and the flavors really blended nicely. He liked all of them, but his favorite was the ricotta with dates & pistachios - wouldn't have thought to put this combination together but it was outstanding. I had the roast beef Panini with ciabatta and romaine salad for the side. The ciabatta was toasted which helped blend all the flavors. It was very good. I try to keep my carbs low so for the second half of the sandwich, I took the top of the bread off and ate it like a bruschetta. The romaine had feta cheese and very light sprinkling of seeds. Not sure if there was a dressing but if so it was very, very light. Had the crème brulee for dessert. Haven't had crème brulee that good in Phoenix metro area since Elaine's closed. Lots of vanilla bean flavor with a properly light and crispy carmelized top. Mmm. I had water and hubby had iced tea (although he didn't drink it because he doesn't care for fruit-flavored teas). Bill came to $35. They appear to run multiple specials where drinks are cheaper ($5 glass of wine). I'm not a beer drinker but they seemed to have quite an eclectic selection of beer. We live in Gilbert and the options for non-chain restaurants are pretty limited, so I think we'll be back. read more

Great for a night out with the girls! They have a very simple yet enticing menu. The descriptions of the food items are always appealing. The wine list has a nice variety but not overwhelming! I have not been for brunch yet but have heard really great things about it. Go for happy hour and you will not be disappointed! The one of the only issues that I have is the long waits during the evenings, especially on the weekend. It is a sign of a good business though so I guess it means they are keeping nice and busy. The service has been pretty great most of the time but there are so occasions when it seems like the servers are not super interested in keeping your table happy. With how busy this location is, it is not a huge surprise. All in all, a fun place with a really cool atmosphere. read more

I usually love eating here. The bruschetta is by far my favorite. However, I went there yesterday with my wife to have lunch and it started out fine. Then about five minutes in the volume on the music speakers got boosted way over what it should be. Almost loud enough for a Friday night club. I mentioned it to our server and she said she would ask about it. Of course nothing got turned down and I asked her again. The music stayed way too loud and she didn't offer to move us to a quieter table. Here's the deal, Postino's is surrounded by an excellent selection of lunch restaurants like Zinnburger, Liberty Market, Joyride, and other brand new places just opening up. We eat in Gilbert frequently and my wife asks me to choose most of the time. I'd chalk it up to a single bad day but there are other reviews recently complaining about how it is impossible to hear to talk. The people on both sides of us were commenting on it as well. So maybe we'll eat somewhere else from now on. It's not a mistake Postino's can afford to make with so many awesome choices all around them. read more

His retail space has been the location for several eating establishments. Postino's has made a success of this corner in downtown Gilbert. The restaurant is open and airy, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The main attraction is the wine selection. The food is somewhat upscale but not classy. The panini sandwiches are great and they have a wide selection of appetizers to go with the wine selections. This is a great place to just sit and unwind and meet friends. The prices are not overly expensive, but, are more than you would expect in a typical bar. If you go, the outside area near the Main Street can get loud with the local traffic. Sitting in the inside or on the side street location may be a little quieter. Check the menu before you go. read more

The wait staff are super chill and cool about everything. The beer is aight and I am a man so I don't drink wine. I Hated It Hated It! Hated It! Way to LOUD music, you had to yell over the LOUD music and other people screaming to the person next to them. I thought it was going to be a casual quite place to drink eat food and visit leisurely with your friends. Food was tasteless and not much of it for $9.75 sandwich. They don't serve alcohol for those non wine and beer drinkers. When I asked the Waiter who wore street clothes - not very professional - or was he someone that just walked in the restaurant. I had some items that I did not like and telling the waiter he acted like I was a pest and didn't want to meet my needs. I would never ever go their again. I am giving Postino only 3 stars not because of any things I do not like, but because of what I feel it is lacking. Let me start by saying that Postino East is nicely decorated and comfortable. The wine selection is nice. I do wish, however, that there were spirit options. Now I understand that this is a wine bar but sometimes you want a cocktail. The food is a tad bit frou-frou for my particular taste buds. I'd like to see some other options as well. The other reason is that this is not my favorite is going through downtown Gilbert can be a real hassle between the lack of parking, construction and police and speed zones. Postino has an air about it....the staff can be a tad bit up-itty. I will give Postino another and will amend my review if I feel differently. read more

Came in here on a random Wednesday afternoon, I am a huge fan of Joyride next door so I checked this place out. The ambiance is great, the staff was friendly to begin with but seemed as if they lost interest once myself and my friend decided against alcohol this particular meal. After we told them we were just having water, the frequency at which our table was visited slowed considerably. We were ordering a few different appetizers and some sandwiches and overall I just wasn't impressed really. The I had a chipotle chicken sandwich on focaccia, and the it was a bit hard. Just overall I didn't have a good experience here. I will be sticking to Joyride. read more

Pretty nice place located amoung some very good eateries in Old town Gilbert. Been there twice. the place is pretty plosh and full of very cool people. This place is not designed for your average American. First of all you have to be very cool to be here. Even the chairs are very cool. they are low down to the ground and very nice. Nothing in this place will remind you that you are ordinary. The crowd is very yuppy. Lots of broad rimmed baseball caps and tattoos. More reminders that you are in a very cool environment. The food is not ordinary. One day I had brunch there. I ordered the bacon and eggs. It came displayed in a way you would never know you were having bacon and eggs. This place screamed "we are not the good egg". It even had a little salad with it to absorb all the cholesterol and make you feel good about the animal protein you were consuming. the second time I ordered the raspberry salad. It was 9.99 and was listed as a main entree. I have some birds in my yard that would have been very unsatisfied with the amount of salad I was given. Luckily I am a small eater. Needless to say it would not be appealing to the "average" American if you know what I mean. Again though this place is designed for cool people only and fat people are not cool. It was a very good salad though and I highly recommend it as an appetizer. All in all it's a nice place to go grab a bite to eat. I usually would rate Postino East with 5 stars. We love their food and the fun , cool atmosphere, however last night our service was terrible. Our server came to our table and hastily took our drink and food order, as we were only ordering appetizers. She brought our drinks back a few minutes later and then we didn't see her for about 35 minutes. I finally flagged her down and asked for another glass of wine. She finally came back about 10 minutes later....With our check. No wine, no question about dessert, no "take your time". We wanted coffee, another drink and dessert, but were so off - put by her lack of service that we left to get a drink elsewhere. We've had good experiences here in the past, so we will likely go back, but if this had been our first time, it also would have been our last. read more
