Absolutely adorable curb appeal and entrance! Very cute outside sitting area and intimate indoor dining. It has a very warm feeling. The menu has great variety! We started off with a great bottle of cab franc. The wine pricing is pretty reasonable for the restaurant being higher end. They dropped off some fresh tasting bread. One was so soft with garlic flavors. The homemade butter tasted like black truffle. I was instantly in heaven. The caprese salad was great! It had a mix of tomatoes red and yellow. Cherry and heirloom I highly recommend started with the scacciatta! It's like a calzone with cheese and ham, but once again black truffled! I could have just had that and the salad for dinner and been happy For dinner I ordered the seared tuna! My husband liked it a lot. The fish was very fresh, but it was lacking in a little flavor. I hoped for more sauce and maybe thinner slices? It was served on warm potato salad which was very delicious. My husband had the rabbit pasta. The flavor of the pasta sauce was so amazing! LATE SUMMER OUTDOOR DINNER Summer doesn't officially ends until September 22. However our feeling of summer ends after Labor Day. I came here for dinner on the last Sunday of August. When it comes to Italian cuisine I like dishes to be not only simple but also interesting. A great sign of an exceptional Italian restaurant is only two pages on the food menu as at Postino. With only two pages of the menu it highlights the simplicity of dishes available. That is what intrigued me about Postino as the focus was on the quality not quantity of dishes. For appetizers I ordered the burrata. Included with the barrata were toast, salami, olives, and tomato jam. Initially I was going to order both pasta and entrée dishes. I decided to order one or the other. I thought about ordering the penne pasta as there was calabrese sausage. However I choose the petrale sole piccata. I was glad because pasta was included on that dish. The pasta that was served was orzo, which looks like rice but is not. For the burrata appetizer I made mini sandwiches for myself with the toast, salami, cheese, and jam. This appetizer can make you full because of the toast. For the petrale sole I expected it to be served flat because it is a flat fish. However the fish was served in a twirl. I thought that twirling presentation provided an interesting visual. That dish almost had an appearance of twirling pasta dishes you see at some higher end Italian restaurants. Due to the golden brown sear the petrale sole had a buttery taste. Eating the fish with the orzo was a filling dish that made me close to full. Wanting to enjoy the last moments of summer I ordered a dessert. The dessert I ordered was a nectarine blueberry crisp. This dessert provided a nice contrast of the cold ice cream with the toasted oatmeal and warm slices of fruit underneath. This dessert reflected the outdoor summer dining atmosphere at Postino. Overall I had a satisfying dinner at Postino. Considering where we were last year for summer my outdoor dining experience at Postino was a great way to end the summer this year. read more

We came here for our office holiday party. Made reservations but came a lil early to have some drinks... our table wasn't ready until about 15-20 mins after our reservation, which was fine with us. We were there to enjoy each other company. I ordered the angel hair pasta with salmon (salmon wasn't an option on the menu but the waiter mentioned it). The salmon was sooo delicious and juicy. The pasta was spicy, but it needed more flavor to it... kind of tasted like spicy butter noodles. The garlic cheesy bread is a must! We definitely advise ordering 2 as they go fast! Their drinks were strong! I thought ordering the melon drop wouldn't be so sad at it sounded like a lot of flavorful juice, but I was wrong haha. We would definitely be back to try more. Wonderful! We decided to treat my partner to a birthday dinner wherein we could all meet (only 4 of us) together, in a public gathering for his special day. Postino was the choice. And what an amazing decision. We live just a mile or so away, but since COVID we have not had the chance to visit. Behold: a birthday and somewhat relaxed guidelines. We made reservations to a super lovely establishment amongst this pandemic to celebrate a birthday--thank you Postino. Our server was the most amazing man, offering suggestions and pairings, etc. He also had this charm that anyone could die for, I mean, thank you for the smile you placed on my family's faces. The wife took me here yesterday for a great lunch it was my birthday lunch great service . I had a rib eye steak really tasty. Wife ordered the veggie flat bread I had a piece of it very good I would order it again. The steak was cooked just right with mashed potatoes and sauté mushrooms delicious all in all I would recommend this place it wasn't very busy because of the weather . I see rave reviews for Postino's braised short ribs, which I enjoy, but it turns out they are no longer on the menu. When I called and asked about this, I was told they were a "seasonal" item. Seasonal? Short ribs? Strange that a restaurant would remove so popular an item. Maybe this will encourage the chef to reconsider. read more

We arrived early and our table wasn't ready so we sat outside on the front patio and waited. The weather was nice so the wait was very pleasant. Our table was right in front of the open kitchen which provided a very entertaining view of the kitchen hustle and bustle during the dinner rush. Postino was an elegant and classy dinner experience. Located in downtown Lafayette, it was easy to find, plenty of parking on a Friday night, and we got sat right away (my friend had made a reservation, but I'm not sure we actually needed it because it wasn't very crowded). The environment inside was a little bit dark, which was okay since it was nighttime. Just keep in mind it's not a bright place if you're trying to look at anything while you're there. The food was very tasty. I was having a hard time deciding between two pasta dishes so the waitress suggested I order two half orders of the pasta, and that was such a great idea! I'm glad I did it. I ended up really liking the capellini and I would order that the next time I go there. The other one I ordered was a pasta with a vodka sauce, which was also good, but a little more heavy than the capellini. I was very impressed by the setting here as well, it seems like a beautiful place to have a wedding or reception. I am hoping to have a reason to go here again! read more

Postino is a place that suggests reservations. We didn't have them but we're able to sit at the bar or a table in the bar instead of outside. We elected to sit at one of two tables in the bar. It was rather busy, but we didn't mind the activity. It got a little noisy at times as diners waited for their tables at the bar but great for people watching. We decided on cocktails instead of wine, and each of us had a refreshing Pimms cup served in a copper mug ala Moscow mule. It was made with Pimms, Hendricks gin, fresh squeezed lemon, and ginger ale. It was delicious. For dinner I had angel hair pasta with heirloom tomato pomodoro sauce, basil, and shaved ricotta. A bit more sauce would have been nice, but it was a generous portion which I couldn't finish. The ricotta was just the right addition. Sis elected to have the pork chop with peach apple salsa, grilled romaine, and creamy lemon vinaigrette. The pork chop was perfectly cooked, tender and the salsa a palate-pleasing addition. The grilled romaine was a surprise, but it worked with the vinaigrette. Postino is a bit on the pricey side and it seems to be a place where people come to celebrate special occasions. read more

Both indoor and outdoor seating are available in April 2021. We haven't been here for a long time and we can't remember why. So I called to make a reservation and got a table for 2 on the same day (outdoor seating). We were seated quickly upon arrival. The service was attentive and friendly. Outdoor seating was OK, but I felt we were a little too close to the other 3 tables around us. Definitely not 6 feet. Food: Spaghetti carbonara ($23) - this was the superstar of the night! Delicious with generous portions. Perfectly cooked spaghetti in the white wine cream sauce with tender English peas. A beautiful fried egg on top. Amazing flavor! 5 stars Yellowfin tuna ($35) - flash grilled with sautéed green beans and carrots. I liked the super fresh , tender, and raw part of the fish on the top, but didn't like the bitterness from the grill burnt. It tasted horrible. So I cut off the bottom and enjoyed the sashimi :) I don't recommend Tuna dish if it's grilled. 2 stars Garlic whipped potatoes ($6) - very garlicky and tasty! Creamy and warm till the last bite! Highly recommend! 5 stars Cheesy garlic bread ($9) - very garlicky with load of shredded cheese - hot and fresh. Loved it! 4 stars Tiramisu ($13) - Espresso soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone filling, dark chocolate sauce. Mediocre. I would prefer the Tiramisu at Wholefoods bakery. 3 stars 2-hour Parking is available in the parking lot next to the restaurant. read more

We came here for dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday last week on a Friday (the 13th) night. The restaurant was full and the main dining room with the cloth drape on the ceiling was so pretty, it felt like being in a pretty indoor sophiscated tent. We sat in the dining room by the fireplace which gave off a cozy feel, especially with the nonstop rain and wet weather we've been having lately. We ordered the portobello mushrooms fries, burrata (this was awesome), garlic fries for appetizers which were all delicious. And for our main entrees we ordered the fish stew (very good), salmon, scallops, penne pasta and broccolini as a side and they were all superb! The salmon was nicely cooked, soft, tasty - not chewy and loved that the skin was on it, cooked and crunchy. I loved the purple sweet mashed potato! We all shared the tiramisu and chocolate decadence for dessert which was enough to satisfy our sweet tooth as a final touch to our delicious dinner. Our waitress was Heather and she was awesome, so friendly, professional, prompt, offered great suggestions, and was kind enough to pull up an extra seat when my daughter joined us late; her food came out in minutes and she was able to enjoy it with the rest of us. Heather made us feel so happy being there from start to finish and she was on the ball with refilling water, wine and drinks. You can tell she really loves her job, smile on her face the whole time and was always happy when she came to our table to check on us and see what else we may need. I have always loved Postino. When I noticed their expanded outdoor dining, I told a friend we had to go dine there. I've never been able to sit outside here before and love the outdoor ambience. We came for lunch and I ordered the pork chop. Short rib is normally my go-to here but I switched it up and wasn't disappointed. The pork chop was delicious and mouth watering. Mashed potatoes were also tasty. My friend got the halibut with a corn medley and she ate the whole thing and said it was great. For dessert we split the triple chocolate pudding which was really rich and hit the spot. It was served with three little cookies that were devoured. Went for a celebration lunch, Feb 3, 1pm, and we were a little disappointed. We remembered our previous visit, 22 years ago, and were excited to return for a special lunch. The hostess immediately put a damper by being snobby and impolite. She was again impolite to my wife when she went to ask where the restrooms were located. The restaurant was beautiful and service was very good. I had the rib eye, ordered medium rare and it came totally rare and I don't like sending food back. I ate around the edges and saved the rest for today. It was a beautiful looking steak. They didn't offer potatoes, mashed or otherwise, to go with the steak, only a purple sweet potato mash which was good but not paired with a steak, at least not for me. The clam appetizer was terrific and my wife's duck also very good. We had a very nice time other than with the hostess. read more

Rick!!! Such an amazing person and server. We came here and enjoyed every single thing about this wonderful restaurant. I'm glad they don't take online reservations and only take them via phone (anything to keep the hordes away). It's an intimate and quaint little spot and we randomly spotted it and came in on a whim and were so glad they were able to accommodate. We saw that people were here for special family gatherings and it was wonderful seeing grandparents with gifts ready to give to their grandchildren at the table and people brought their own wine to enjoy. What an incredibly fun place and so homey. The food was absolutely stellar as well. I had the short rib and the wife had pasta. Everything was well cooked, seasoned and delicious. We will be bringing our own wine here next time and actually we're going tonight again (last visit was a few months ago)... which prompted this review and wonderful memories of the last visit. I love the architecture of Postino and would love to visit often. I was hoping my previous visit was a fluke. I was there for lunch with my girlfriends and we had a good time catching up. I ordered the cheeseburger. The burger was overcooked (way past well done) and it was ultra salty; practically inedible. At the end of the meal, the waitress asked how our meals were and I told her my burger was inedible. Her response was that the health department has mandated that burgers should not be undercooked. Really? interesting that every other joint in town asks you how you want your burger cooked and my choice of medium rare is always honored. FYI: the law states that a server can ask the customer how they prefer their hamburger cooked and can serve a medium-rare burger, if requested. She never asked. And how do you account for an overly salted burger? I didn't have to pay for my meal. I consider the service to be subpar. Girlfriends and I won't be selecting Postino for our next luncheon. Parking is also a nightmare. read more
