Posto 22 Restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine and has a serious wine selection. Okay back to the garlic bread with mozzarella..... Couple this yummy appetizer with their Penne alla Vodka and you have an intoxicating meal (literally). Their Penne alla Vodka has "taste-bud tingling" spices with a hint of cream (yum). And if you're bold and know no boundaries you will try their Oreo Mousse for dessert. Service: Focused and quick service. Drinks were made efficiently and dishes came out fresh and hot. Décor: The inside is cozy and lights are dim (compliments my eyes). I love the light honey mustard walls outline in brick-oven red. For some reason the combination of those colors incites a feeling of hunger (mouth watering). One simple detail that I extremely liked was the mirror with the names of wines on it. Second trip here for lunch. Quaint little place with a nice, clean interior and good lunch specials (and plenty of specials from which to choose). They bring you nice, warm bread once you're settled in, which is fabulous with a little olive oil, balsamic, & pepper. Service is adequate though the staff will never be accused of being TOO warm or friendly. Parking available on the street and, very conveniently, across the street as well. Food was brought out in a good amount of time and was delicious (I had the Chicken Napolitano and pasta e fagioli soup). The soup could have had a little more flavor but a little pepper and Parmesan cheese spruced it up. Be warned that the lunch specials' portions aren't large by any means but it hit the spot and was enough for me to not be hungry any longer. It was a nasty day out and the restaurant was not super crowded so I feel that the staff who watched us walk out could have at least acknowledged our departure, thanked us for coming in today, or invited us back. There is no point in making a reservation. My husband and I made a reservation for our anniversary and it was clear that we were an oversight. Instead of admitting that they weren't ready for us, they set up a make shift table for two. We were seated right next to the bathroom, kitchen and heavy traffic area. As we were eating the busboys kept bumping into our elbows and their bodies were practically on our table to continue serving the busy restaurant. We were also one foot away from the table next to us. We might as well have introduced ourselves and made four new friends because that's how close we were and how well we got to know them from having to hear their conversation. Despite all of that, the drinks, food and our waiter were great. Not sure if we'll be back simply because of how we were treated and how everyone failed to acknowledge the inconsiderate accommodations. read more

We had attended a Christening party for my cousin's baby boy today and following it we had a small get together at Posto 22. The waiters very nice and got the foods/drinks out promptly. The restaurant was pretty nice, but I was sitting right under the vent and was freezing my butt off. The chicken dishes were good, and the pizza was excellent. One of the pies had chicken and peppers on it, and it was a very interesting taste. I've been coming to posto for over three years now and it's one of my favorite restaurants ever! My friends and I go here about every 2 weeks, sometimes more. The food is absolutely delicious, and their specials are some of my favorite meals. I am a vegetarian and they are always so accommodating with customizing certain meals to remove the meat. I even come here sometimes with friends just to have drinks because the bar is so lively and fun. Mike is the best/funniest bartender ever!! They gave us delicious warm bread right away, and they were super attentive, coming back often to fill our water glasses. The food was fantastic however the service was poor. We spent over 500 dollars and celebrated 2 birthdays. The service could not care less. No smiles no customer service they seemed more annoyed that they had to work. It is a shame because my broccoli Rabe orrechiate was pretty good. We had mussels and clams oregano that were very good. But again they forgot my bday cake and after we spent over 500 dollars no one said thank you. NO ONE poor service and most likely won't see us again. TL;DR: There are a lot of great restaurants in the area but this one is probably the best. Just started eating here in late June (delivery only, so far) as I work nearby on Sundays. I've had Orecchiette w/ Broccoli Rabe & Hot Sausage (thanks for having the spicy sausage, by the way), a Cavatelli dish with shrimp & sausage, and then the chicken scarp. All three were best in class. Also, the raspberry lemonade is incredible. And, as usual for this goddamned website, I look down and see a bunch of absurd one-star reviews; one from a person who gave the place one-star because of the valet company, because that makes sense and another that gave the place one-star despite having "good experiences in the past." Let me say first that the staff was great. That 1 star is for them! Attentive and polite. As far as the food, that's another matter. I had high hopes for this place, based on the previous reviews. Let me just say, as a family we thoroughly enjoy eating out, have been to many places in the tri-state area. Authentic & fresh pasta, fresh herbs and most of all, a good wine list will get us there. However, this meal was utterly disappointing. Ravioli was described by my teen - as gummy. I tasted it and felt sauce was acidic and pasta reminded me of frozen ravioli aftermath. :( Husband ordered the house special of spinach fettuccine and chicken dish - which had no flavor - could not distinguish the chicken from the pasta - seriously. I ordered shrimp scampi on a bed of risotto which came In at very high notes of lemon and salt. Not delicate- not tasty - didn't taste fresh - except for the fresh parsley - but just not flavorful. What a special place this is! My husband, daughters, and I made our first visit last Thursday night, and were completely wowed. We were seated in the main dining room, which has exposed brick walls and funky chandeliers, and somehow managed to feel both sophisticated and cozy. Immediately, we were greeted by a charming waitress. The menu is full of tempting options - for appetizers, we chose the fried zucchini sticks and the burrata salad. When they arrived, we were impressed by how large the portions were: it was a mini mountain of zucchini, and we received not one ball of burrata, as is customary in many restaurants, but two. My entree, the veal parm, was a knockout. The scallopini were just a smidge thicker than I prefer, but they were soft and tender, and sauced just right. Again, the portion was enormous - I took at least half of the dish home, and it was maybe even more delicious reheated the next day! Everyone else in my family ordered pasta. My husband had a special of steak tips with pasta in a cream sauce, while my older daughter enjoyed their signature dish of papardelle with porcini mushrooms in a truffle cream sauce. I sampled both these entrees, and they were scrumptious. I didn't sample the linguine with clam sauce that my younger daughter ordered, but she raved about it. Lastly, desserts here are not an afterthought, but a memorable finale to a deeply satisfying meal. We savored a special of chocolate chip cookies served in a mini cast iron skillet, plus an apple cobbler--usually I don't go for apple desserts, but this was divine! This place has been on my list for a while, its also been recommended to me a bunch of times when I tell people where I live, I finally made it here for dinner on a Sunday night, it was packed when we came in due to a private party going on but we were able to get seated right away. The place is big there is a bar in front and seating throughout, also there is more seating in the back and another bar as well, the ambiance and lighting is good, we had some cocktails, there is also beer and wine on the menu. The bread and olive oil given with the table was very good and soft, for food my friend ordered the tortellini soup and I ordered the Caesar salad, we both enjoyed them, for entrees she had a flatbread with vodka sauce and chicken, I had penne alla vodka, the food was good not the best but not bad either, the service was good and I enjoyed dining here I would come back read more

Everything about our evening was fantastic. We arrived a few minutes after 6 for a 6p reservation (parking was a bit of an issue - and the valet was mobbed) and were seated immediately. 2 large surprise parties in separate rooms didn't effect service at all - it was exceptional. Warm bread and water were delivered immediately. We ordered promptly, as we were dining with a toddler and sleeping infant. 2 glasses of chianti and a Cesear salad to start - would have liked the dressing to have been mixed in rather than placed on top for me to mix, as is the norm, but it was a good amount of dressing. Kids spaghetti and meatballs was a very generous portion and delish. Shrimp risotto was a special and was tasty. It needed some salt, so a sprinkle of parmesan cheese did the trick. The risotto was a tad under, but the shrimp and asparagus were cooked well. My husband had the chicken scarpariello and he loved it. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was well seasoned. He had a side of penne bolognese which was also very good. Portions are very large - so we had leftovers. Overall, a truly fantastic family dinner. It was crowded, they flipped tables constantly. My wife and I were here a few days ago and we are so glad we found this place! We started out with the potato and onion pizza (with gluten free dough!) which was delicious. The wine list is very reasonably priced, and our server was very attentive. For dinner my wife had the scallops with risotto, and while the scallops were fine, the risotto was incredible - perfectly creamy - something that so many restaurants fail to achieve. I had the veal sorrentino - a large portion (I took about a third of it home) of amazing veal with eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella on top - what a delicious meal! They have valet parking as well (we were there on a Friday night) which was a huge help because parking in that area isn't easy - and the entire staff was friendly. And I should tell you their pasta and shrimp entrees were probably the best I've tasted on the east coast!
