    BBQ Chopped Beef

Ohh potatoes!! My husband grew up eating here and has wanted to take me here for years. I have to say the Hot Wing potato was hands down our favorite, my recommendation for sure!! I personally ordered the Chopped Beef potato, the BBQ sauce was a little too sweet for me honestly. (I ate my mom's Hot Wing left overs, lol) Now the serving sizes are crazy!! Enough for leftovers which make the price point worth in my eyes. I would 100% give a try, we called ahead with a 5-10 wait we got there in 15 and it was ready to go! Ohh they have a special for half off on Fridays for the classic potatoes before 9p, I think after 5.

The food sucked. Potato was ok, but toppings were nasty. Specially the boudin. I was going to leave a 2 star review but as i was leaving i saw a sign of a texas longhorn logo with horns chopped off. All about school pride but it's unsportsmanlike and disrespectful for a business to put something like that on their walls. So they get 1 star

Large portion so it's worth the money in that sense. I've had the BBQ meat potato too and didn't think it was that flavorful is my only criticism.

I've loved this place since I started at A&M (longer ago than I care to admit). The best potato on offer is by far the hot wing potato. It all just works - hot potato, crispy chicken, buffalo sauce, cheese, and ranch. It's ridiculous and oh so satisfying. This place has that old Ag charm. Yes, it's sorta dingy and rundown. It's supposed to be that way! Carve your name in the table and enjoy yourself a delicious meal.

"i could make a better potato at home" sadly did not live up to the hype :( the service was good though!

Stopped by Potato Shack + for the first time, and can say I had a pleasant experience. Cashier was very friendly , and the food was fast and delicious . I did eat on Friday, and conveniently there was a special on 50% off for all potato meals. The BBQ Chopped Beef was good. Would definitely recommend for someone craving a potato.

The Potato Shack is a classic foodie spot where one can eat on a budget. I entered the store and was immediately greeted with a large menu above the front counter and a smiling face. I had the Garlic Parmesan chicken potato. This potato was not your average potato, it was larger than I'm accustomed to. The chicken was well prepared but was just a tad bit heavy on the garlic. I left satisfied with plans on returning again. If you're looking for a quick bite on a budget, this is your spot.

Looks tiny on the outside but it's a pretty big place!

Stepping back, this farm located outside of Bryan, Tx owned by Chef Bryan and wife Amanda, both of whom are great and down to earth couple that they now have incorporated a commercial kitchen that allows them to host these type of events. As part of the spread this farm has all the normal trappings you would find, i.e. chickens, pigs, etc. The couple are relatively new to the farming scene and as part of the animal tour they share their learnings of what's worked well and what hasn't which most people don't normally like sharing any of their shortcomings. Once the farm walking tour is complete you head back to the long outdoor wooden tables and benches all backed up to one another making a nice long long table that seats about 40-50 people, all appointed nicely with decoration and candles. To add to the experience are the outdoor lights strewn above head across the tables and tree branches. Something you would see in movies. After everyone has been seated and you've had time to finish your introductions with the other people seated next to you they begin serving their 9 course meals. All of which come from either their farm or anyone of their neighbor farms. These dishes aren't large dishes but give you an idea of the varied seasonal produce Bryan and Amanda grow. All the dishes were very tasty and some better than others, but you could really taste the natural organic flavor from what they picked from that day. As far as drinks its bring your own wine or beer so that helps keep the cost per individual to a very reasonable price at about $125+ tax p/person. By the end of the night the evening is finished off in the garden area that you follow the candlelight trail where everyone gets served coffee and desert under a full moon. How cool is that! So whatever you plan on doing next months full moon, drop what your doing and come here NOW! You won't regret it and you'll be wanting to come back again.

They have full moon dinners every month with nine small courses. It is a pricey dinner (ticket sales close a few days in advance) and it's north of Bryan, TX (about 1 hr 30ish mins from Houston), but the ambiance and menu are unmatched. Ours included meats like octopus (I requested a sub and they did fish), venison, beef, and chicken. All Texas local ingredients, all freshly prepared. I'm talking dishes like fresh tagliatelle with venison and hyssop, homemade squash dumplings (possibly my favorite, but it's hard to pick a single favorite course), jerk chicken with sweet potato croquettes, and mille-feuille with a smooth chocolatey filling for dessert. It's BYOB and they send out pairing suggestions beforehand. They accommodated our meat substitution requests without issue. I loved getting to eat under the beautifully lit trees with the rustic table setting. We had a short tour of the farm before dinner and got to see their garden and some piglets running around. I honestly thought maybe the ambiance would be the big draw for me and that the food would be second, but this was truly one of my favorite meals of the year.

Everyone was super helpful and great! We loved all of the servers: very attentive 5/5: flavor of the food! We had the 4 course meal for the supper club. To start we had the scallops which were great but small, the crab succotash was good but needed a little more flavor- it also had some crab shells that my husband found in it... then we had a salad- flavorful but small.. third course of wax the lamb chops and this was the highlight of the entire meal- WOW!!! But still if it had had one more chop, it would have been more of a better portion... 4th course was the Belgian chocolate soufflé- we both enjoyed this course but I don't think it should have been called a soufflé- it honestly was more like a brownie in a mug type dessert- it wasn't a soufflé texture, more brownie texture 3/5: portion size: DC was delicious but kept you wanting more. I think if they want to make sure their customers are fully satisfied, they should provide some table bread and butter- this could keep the cost the same but make sure people weren't wanting to make popcorn whenever they got home. We were slightly less content because of portion size. It also would make the time between arriving and the first course not seem so long if there was homemade table bread. There needs to be some sort of filler as there were very few carbs in the meal overall. 4/5: environment: the set up was really nice! Loved the live music and the decor but the chairs weren't comfortable- hard to have hard cold chairs whenever you are having so many different portions to a meal. They need some cushions or something. Overall, like I said, we had a great time and would definitely return! We just see some potential improvements that we hope could put the cherry on top for people attending the DC events in the future .

They have three different sauces to try, including a mustard-based one that was interesting. (I liked being able to control my sauce mixings) There are free white and wheat bread and a good spread of fixings like pickles, onions, and jalapenos. We came in for a late afternoon lunch, (post-lunch rush) and it was super quiet. This was our first meal back in the College Station/Bryan area so it was a pretty easy, low-stress stop. Staff was efficient, and there's a patio area if the weather's nice. They also run daily specials.

I'm sure the price for this place is reasonable, just overall expensive in general. Anyways, I ordered the "I want it all" dinner pack which consists of 1/2lb beef, 1/2lb sausage, 1/2lb chicken, 1/2lb ribs, and 2 large OR 4 small sides which we chose the mac n cheese, smothered green beans, corn, and mashed potatoes. I also ordered a side of pork belly and banana pudding. Everything was very flavorful especially the brisket, beef rib, and pork belly. The chicken and sausage were ok. I did a takeout order so my pics don't do this meal justice from that traditional all on one pan bbq presentation look. Overall, it is a delicious and I'm sure reasonably priced joint. We'll be back whenever we crave for some bbq. Staff were friendly and fast. Lots of parking and tables to dine at.
