I had better have a backyard someday because there are way too many gorgeous pots calling my name at this store for me to not take advantage. Yes, it can be expensive, but this isn't your basics nursery where you can stock up on all the essentials to build your garden. The pots here are works of art and a special treat for your garden. That said, there are good bargains to be found in the large pots, like the Vietnamese made one with a large diamond shaped pattern on the clay and covered in a gorgeous teal blue glaze. They are definitely more reasonably priced and still something special if you are trying to find something to make a focal point of your outdoor space. Other than the pots, there are other great gifts if you are looking for a housewarming present or everyday present for someone who enjoys gardening-lovely cacti(perfect for those of us with black rather than green thumbs), statuettes, wind chimes, and a lot more. I had a present to exchange and I told the sales lady at the counter that I might not return it if I could not find anything better. My present was beautifully wrapped by my friend. I ended up buying the same item in a different color and I told the sales lady that I wanted to keep my original present as well. When I first entered the store the sales lady was not very friendly and when I was looking for something to exchange or buy, she was not helpful. When I went to the register to buy the second item which was a different color from the first one, she had removed all the beautiful ribbons that were on my original present. I asked her for the ribbons and she pulled them disdainfully out of the trash can. I was saddened to see them in the rubbish heap. I wish she would have asked me before she ripped off all the ribbons that were on my original present. I did not feel welcome in the store and was expecting a different or more positive experience because my friend seemed to have really like Potted. This was not a positive first experience for me at this store. I always appreciate a store where I feel welcomed and feel relaxed enough to enjoy shopping at. read more

Purchased $150 bird house amongst some other things. They gave us an S hook to hang it up which is what they had used to hang them in the store. I went home and hung it up outside with the provided hook. Two minutes later it comes crashing down and shatters into a million pieces. When we called to explain what happened they said it was not their fault. Ummmmmm... You gave us the S hook to hang it up with which was clearly insufficient to hang it up securely with. If it wasn't going to be enough to hang it up securely we should of been told that. I wasn't excepting a full replacement but a partial credit to get a new one would of been nice or something other then the tough crap attitude we received. As a new move in to the neighborhood I like to support local businesses but I won't be back here. read more

Potted is a well hidden gem on Los Feliz. You'll probably hear "You have arrived" several times before you actually see it. Once you get inside though you'll be greater by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was looking for a very unique piece and there we plenty in the shop but Christina helped me create a one of a kind masterpiece from scratch. I picked out the pot and a few succulents and she worked her magic within fifteen minutes. If you don't have fifteen minutes, they have plenty of prearranged pieces that are ready to go. What a wonderful place! It's a hidden gem in Atwater Village. I was looking for 2" succulents as gifts for our graduate students at our church and yelped succulents. This was the first place that popped and it was only 10 minutes away from our church at Eagle Rock. Walking in, I was surrounded by absolutely beautiful plants. Love this place for a unique selection of plants and unique planters. Great place to get inspiration for your next home decor or succulent project. Succulent selection is small, but high quality, and they definitely have more of the unique plants that you won't find at a Home Depot or Lowe's. Inside, you'll find a lot of more expensive, but certainly pretty planters, books, and home items that are full of colors and patterns. Outside is where you can find the succulents, along with a great selection of planters from small to big and cheap to expensive, and a few water fountains. Even if you don't buy anything, you will be inspired I'm sure. I really enjoy their "cactus dioramas". It is a collection of small cactus arranged in fun planters. Think cactus bonsai. The planters can be oil cans, bird feeders, mini wheelbarrows, etc. You may be able to find a small vintage toy or a cool looking ornament cleverly hidden among the plants in the planter. Whoever makes these must be having a lot of fun. Every single one of them are original and one-of-a-kind. I'm not making sense, am I? Well, just go visit them and you'll find out. This place in the old days was mostly focused on Fountains.. don't know when the new owners took over but they have fountains and with better designs. The store is now much more upscale and have very interesting things on inventory. I was looking for indoor/outdoor mats at most Home depots and other places and just couldn't find something great. Well found a nice colorful mat that is perfect for the house and ended up going back again to buy the same color mat but a little longer. .. and they have just an amazing line of colorful pots. parking is on the street and the indian spice store is right next door. I LOVE this place!!! I have been to so MANY outdoor places as my husband and I just bought a new house and now have 2 decks that need some love! Potted has some of the cutest planters, lights, furniture, rugs, small succulents, gorgeous comfy blankets, and other indoor decorative pieces of any place in the city. The prices are all very reasonable which is so cool as places that have any design tend to be very expensive. I live all the way across the city and have been here 3 times now to get more things! I really wish I read more about succulents before I went here. Yes, they were all helpful but some of the recommendations I got from them don't match up with any of the research I've done. It is VERY important for your succulents to have drainage. The pot I purchased from here was so darn cute but no drainage. I asked if its okay that there is no drainage, I was told either they can drill it for me or I can water very carefully and put lava rocks on the bottom. I'm going to go with their advice for now and just water very lightly because over watering causes diseases and bugs and I DO NOT want that on my desk. The place overall is very very veryyyyyy cute. They have coolest plants, furniture, accessories, plant decor and even a cute puppy to play with! Plus I got a free succulent for checking in! My husband and I had never even heard of Potted until we wanted a fire pit and a friend showed us a photo of the Concrete Bowl fire pit from Potted. 2 years after buying it and having it installed, we finally went to the actual store for the first time to buy a fire pit cover - because it makes a great table when you don't want a fire! Yes yes yes yes! This place is a horticulturists wet dream. I'm just an average person, but I've seen some horticulturists go bonkers in this place. Yes, everyone's right, this place is pricey, but go during a sale and it's very reasonable! I've bought numerous gifts here, a bamboo fountain (which they replaced when it went kerput) outdoor rugs, and numerous gorgeous pots and hanging votives that you can't get at Home Cheapo. The store has a nice selection of outdoor sculptures and fountains and a good selection of hanging plants and succulents. The customer service is good...a laid back group but very nice and know their product. They are willing to help at the drop of a hat but you might need to ask.
