This is a local Pottery Barn location that we go to when looking for furniture for our home. This time around we wanted to buy a set for our son's room and we stopped by this store to check out the options for his room. They have a wide selection available online and the new/most popular models available in the store to look at and compare. On our visit we were assisted by Tracy, who showed us the models we were considering. She also showed us samples of different color swatches for us to compare. The customer service is horrific. I went to pick up an item I purchased and the store associate flat out ignored me when I was standing in front of them trying to get their attention. I literally watched them offer assistance to a woman in front of me 30 seconds prior, to which they declined. Not sure what that was about but, it was certainly rude. For a "high end furniture store" they really don't know how to treat their customers. Also when they were loading the furniture in the car, they damaged it and didn't do anything about it. I should have returned it on the spot had I known it was damaged. Take your business to Crate and Barrel at Galleria instead, they are much nicer to their customers. read more

The boy and I have finally decided to update our post-college couch with something bigger, comfier, and (le sigh) family friendly. We honestly didn't know where to start but luckily Tysons Corner has a few furniture options from Macy's, to Arhaus, to Lovesac, to Pottery Barn. As we strolled around, we fell in love with a floor model at Pottery Barn but because we were with our daughter, it was hard to make a commitment right away. The sales people were friendly enough to give us some specs and things to think about so we could go home and do some research. Two days later we came back in, sans kid, and were greeted by Tatiana, a sales person who just happened to be celebrating her fifteenth anniversary with the store that day! Although we already had a good idea of what we wanted, she took us through the entire process, guiding us with recommendations for small kids, talking about the differences in fabrics and what we should look for in buying a couch. I had my hesitations in making a big purchase but after she mentioned that the couch that we were looking at is made with sustainably in mind, and was certified non-toxic, I was completely sold. She was never pushy, gave us enough space to think and make decisions and always informative. We were lucky enough to stop by on a Monday evening so it was not very busy and we did not have to make an appointment in advance. I am still waiting for my couch to be built and shipped but was really pleased with the customer service that we received. This was my first big furniture purchase from Pottery Barn but my family has shopped here for years so I know that their furniture is built to last. Based on the customer service we received, I know that this won't be my last trip here. read more

I can't say that I'm completely blown away by coming to this Pottery Barn Yelp page and seeing it has an average of 2.5 stars. But let me add my own testimonial in the hopes that they'll some day correct the experience I just had. Honestly, this would have been a 3 star experience if naught for the ... I'm just gonna say "particular" male associate I dealt with for a total of 1 minute. This particular gentleman just tainted my entire experience there. He came up after I spoke with a nicer older woman about my problem. Here was the issue. I bought something online with a gift card to be picked up in store ( a down comforter). I go to the store, a bit late albeit cause we got a bit busy before our vacation and weren't able to make it out there. Anyways, I go into the store to be told that after 5 days, the item becomes returned, and your method of payment is returned to you. Ok... great. So the woman at the front has someone pull the exact down comforter I'm there to pick up, and basically is like... this isn't paid for anymore so you just have to wait until that other gift card comes in in the mail, then you'll have to order it again, and come to pick it up. She didn't give me those exact instructions, but that's what she was saying. She was like... there's nothing I can do. I ask her if I can speak with the customer service people to see if I can resolve it. Ok then this "particular" gentlemen with a green sweater and coiffed hair and is like. "What's wrong" So I explain to him what happens and his response was. Particular Gentleman:"It says it clearly in the email when you purchase it" Me: Ok... I didn't see that Particular Gentleman:"It says it clearly in the email when you purchase it" Me: Yes, I told you, I did not see where it says that. Is there anything we can do. Particular Gentleman:"It says right there in the email after you purchase it" Me: I hear you. I want to see if there is anything we can do about that. Can you give me the customer service phone number. Proceeds to give me the wrong customer service phone number (he gives me the one that is for store employees), and struts away without saying bye or sorry. Like... seriously guy. Just repeating the same thing over and over again is NOT helping me. It takes a lot for me to feel completely crossed, but I'll tell you- this gentleman was so rude that it completely colored my whole experience there. So I get the right customer service number from the kinder older woman who I was speaking with at first and I call them. 1st woman I speak with (Tarrace-sp?): She is gonna help me but we get disconnected. 2nd woman I speak with: Transfers me 3rd woman I speak with: Listens to my story and literally transfers me mid story. She didn't say ANYTHING about transferring me, or explaining who she was transferring me too. She just transferred me mid story. 4th woman I speak with (Christine).: I tell Christine off the bat... she's the fourth person I'm speaking with... and can you please take down my phone number in case we get disconnected. She cancels the gift card that is being sent to me. She calls the store and attempts to resolve the issue with the manager. She is not able to find a solution where I leave with the comforter today, but she is able to ship me one at no shipping charge (which is why I did in-store pick-up in the first place- to avoid shipping fees), and Christine is kind and friendly. She says her nephew owns a couple of restaurants in the DC area including Red Apron. She urges me to go :). I've heard Red Apron is great... I will go Christine. I will. Thank you for your help. Overall, the manager at the store is very nice, and the other woman I spoke with. But that particular gentleman needs a lesson in customer service. Am I happy with my experience? NO. This whole thing was flawed from the onset. And why didn't I recieve any phone call from Pottery Barn telling me: "Hey, you're item has been in store for pickup for 3 days and will be returned if you are not here within 2 days. Do you need more time?" That would have been nice. When I choose the in store pickup option on the website, there should be a BOLD notice saying "hey! If you don't pick up this item in store in 5 days, we're gonna undue this transaction." Instead, Pottery Barn decided it to hide it in small text in my purchase confirmation email. I don't know who reads through all of their purchase confirmation emails in this day and age, but I can tell you... I certainly don't. I keep it as proof that I purchased something... like a receipt. But no, I'm not combing through purchase notification emails for asinine rules about something I just purchased. And THAT'S why Pottery Barn gets 2 stars today. We are in the market to buy a new king size bed that's reasonable in price and also something that will lasts us for a long time. We decided to check out pottery barn. First of the decor of the store just pulls you in. They have the most beautiful Christmas trees in the store for display which kept my daughter busy and it was great. They have a wide variety of furniture. Bedroom furniture is in the back of the store at very end. They have a few beds on display and a bunch of headboards as well. You can also customize anything in any color and the price depends on the fabric you pick. We decided to go with the performance fabric because it's easy to clean. They had a lot of colors to pick from but I fell in love with the sand color. Their warranty is not the best though so, I will probably be buying the extended warranty. Veronica is the sales rep who helped us. She is extremely knowledgeable and nice. It was closing time but she didn't rush us. She took time to explain everything to us and also created a estimate for the bed we liked. I highly recommend this location and Veronica to Day 2: came back to purchase our bed and Jeff Mooney was the designer who helped us. Honestly, the best customer service ever. He took so much time explaining grade a,b,c fabrics to us and also stayed 45 mins past closing time to help us place our order. If you decide to come here definitely look for Jeff. read more

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated by the lack of accountability of the managers at pottery barn. After specifically asking them NOT to call my fiance's aunt about towels from a wedding registry gift return they left TWO voicemails about wanting to return the gift. She was very confused and upset with us that we wouldn't reach out to her and she had to hear about it from the Pottery Barn team. When calling Pottery Barn to let them know of the huge issue they created in our family they had no regard. This is now going to be a very uncomfortable situation for months/years and it was all because an issue they made. Mistakes happen but at the end of the day, the customer service leadership needs to take accountability and understand THEY put us in this situation. Even when explaining the situation all they could say was 30% off is a huge discount. In reality it is NOT - this would not have been a problem if they would have been more detailed. The women I spoke with also had ZERO empathy and understanding for the faux pas the company created. I asked the manager if they offered a military discount because they did about four years ago when I purchased my first daughter's nursery furniture from PBK... He was dismissive and disrespectful. I ordered a kitchen island on August 3-rd 2021, it's over 4 (four!) months late and estimated arrival continues to be pushed back every month. I spend over 15 hours on the calls with customer services, they were not able to provide me with delivery date and explanation of why the delays, when I request to cancel my order the call disconnects. Things only get worse! Pottery Barn Corporate has invented a way to put things 'in transit' in order to bill you the FULL AMOUNT, yet it stays in transit for months, meaning YOU owe the bill for goods you don't physically receive but THEY claim have been put 'In Transit'. A call in to the company indicates there are 'multiple' parts coming from multiple locations so they can say 'in transit' as it sits in one warehouse waiting for the 'other parts'. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE for a dresser? The drawers coming from some other location?? UNBELIEVABLE!!! Pottery Barn wants CASH FLOW and throws their issue onto YOU, THE CUSTOMER!! I saw a bed that I liked in the window display, almost all of the furniture in my house is from the Pottery Barn and I was looking for ideas for a new bed frame. So I asked an associate about a certain frame and If they had it in anything bigger than a full since it was in the kids section of pottery barn but instead of just telling me yes or no she asked me to do an estimate like 3 times and I kept saying know so I just did it because she wasn't stopping and now she calls me like every week about it. I placed an online order to pick up in the store. After waiting in a long line a clerk went to get it and handed me a bag and turned away to help the next customer. I said wait a minute let's check this out. And guess what? I was wise to check. The item in the bag was not of the item I ordered. We found that the best way to buy furniture here is to pick up a floor model with some cosmetic imperfections during a sale. I think we ended up getting this great desk for more than half off because of the multiple discounts we got. It went from being too expensive to being a wonderful addition to our home office. The staff was also very helpful in making sure we took advantage of the multiple promotions they were running simultaneously and set up a delivery date we were happy with. Overall we had a very positive experience here and look forward to finding new treasures we can happily take home with us. read more

Terrible customer service - specifically Linda. I purchased a Banks pedestal table from the Tysons VA store two years ago and the base wobbled from day one. It's progressively become worse so I started calling the the Tyson's store to get the table repaired. I was put in touch with Linda who is the 'furniture medic' coordinator. I have spoken to Linda 4 times now over a month and nothing has moved. She doesn't return phone calls and doesn't follow up on her word. Had an amazing experience with ordering my sofa at the pottery barn Tysons Corner. Tattiana in store took the time, and had so much patience in showing me all different kinds of sofa options for my new home. I however later ordered my sofa by phone to this same store after discussing with my husband. I spoke to Danielle over the phone and placing my order was so simple. I wanted to change a couple of things from my previous order estimate and she also took the time to go through everything with me step by step to make sure I made the right choices. This is really a review about all the William Sonoma stores (WS, west elm, PB, etc) and their terrible customer service. It was a nightmare registering at WS. Anytime you have to return an item that was purchased online they have to physically mail you a gift card. It's 2020! You should be able to get a gift card at the store right then and there or a refund! Not to mention getting anyone on the phone. Couldn't hear the guy on the phone - he had to get leadership involved to cancel an order (couldn't do it himself or change the shipping address before it was shipped out). Insane. The short of it, aside from my issues with them constantly discontinuing merchandise, is the crappie service you get when you come to this store. Whether you're calling to inquire about an item, or are visiting the store in-person, they seem to hire mostly incompetent and impatient people who immediately disregard any questions you have, and don't want to be bothered to do the most basic things, like looking up the price of an item, or checking if something is in-stock. Some will even actively avoid you if they see you, and the ones you do interact with have little experience with "soft skills" or are either non-knowledgeable about the merchandise in the store. read more

A victim of their own success... I have never tried so hard to spend money someplace and not been able to do it! I usually order online and am overall pleased with the quality of the PB merchandise but the in store service is seriously lacking. We are redecorating our home and when I received the email about the PB Design Services I thought I would give it a try. It took three weeks to get an appointment but I was very excited and I started with my office and a bedroom. To say that my experience has been less than satisfactory would be a huge understatement. The person was late, the plan she sent was nothing like what we discussed, and there was no follow-up. We then went into the store to personally look over things and again, could not get assistance. I even asked the manager for help and she promptly hustled off and forgot about us - twice. Clearly they either need more staff or a better way of doing things as they are driving PB customers to the competition. Well, well, well. I'm honestly going to say that this store is not quite the dish that Phoebe from Friends led me to believe. I always believed that this store would wow me. Maybe it's because I came from Restoration Hardware and then was also lamenting the future damage to my wallet. Who knows. But at the same time, we did find some curtains that we wanted in the house so I guess it wasn't a total loss. Finding the store employees proved difficult when we were ready to purchase - but damned if they weren't around like flies fixing the displays when we walked in. Weird. It's like NYC taxis. Anyway, this is another store that I'm going to have to start a relationship with.as well - I think my wife had a better experience than I did. Me and my BF went in here to get a few items for his bathroom, we knew what we wanted and literally walked in, grabbed it and got in line. The lady at the counter was busy with another customer and since we were in no hurry we decided to wait. No joke, 11 mins of waiting till she finished with the customer ahead of us, when she was done, she looked at us, turned and walked away. She was not following the customer since they walked out of the store and she walked to the back. She did not say a word to us, but just left us there with no one to help up. Seriously Pottery Barn? Seriously? I normally eschew the malls around the holidays (for obvious reasons), but I was at Tyson's to meet some friends for dinner. As I got here early, I decided to swing by the Pottery Barn to see if I could pick up the thing that my mother-in-law wanted for Xmas. I walked around the store - and please, keep in mind, this is in December, prime shopping season, after work (around 5 - 6pm) - and I counted, exactly 3 associates. Which would be fine...except, one of the associates were busy ringing people up, the other was on the phone (I'm going to be kind and assume it was with a customer)...and the third associate was busy running around the store, yet very careful not to make eye contact with anyone. Naturally, I couldn't find the item that my MIL wanted, so I tried to get the attention of either the guy that was on the phone or the one running around...and both of them did a spectacular job of somehow "not seeing" me. Determined, I finally get into line for the one cashier that was ringing up the entire store...to find that there was at least one (if not more) people in line with questions about products, ect. So they were having the same issues that I was. Finally, I get to the front of the line, and the poor cashier was clearly a seasonal hire, because she had NO idea what the products where, and after 15 minutes of fumbling on the machine (and I felt so bad for those behind me), she finally figured out how to look up to see if they had the item in store...and they did not. UGH. Thanks a bunch Pottery Barn Tyson's. You basically suck serious butt. But hey, I did end up killing over 30 minutes in that store! read more

I have had the worst experience with PB and the issue is still not resolved. If there's a senior PB rep... PLEASE HELP! 3+ months ago I purchased a bathroom vanity from PB. Shortly after I receive not one, but two vanities (only charged for one). Being a good human, I called PB 2+ months ago to let them know of the error and to get their product back to them. All the representatives have been friendly and professional, however, I keep getting sent between the companies with zero resolution. So... Two months later, 30+ phone calls and 40+ hours of my time (this is not an exaggeration, if anything it's a conservative estimate) and I still have a giant box in my garage. The kicker is because I can't park in my garage, my two year old gets soaked when it rains and has to wait for me to clear ice off the car since I'm often caring for my daughter alone. My last call with a PB representative was just a few minutes ago, and once again zero resolution. They did give me 10% off which equates to about ~2 dollars per hour time spent between these two companies which is hardly adequate given it has taken time away with my family and work... I've offered to keep the additional vanity and donate it to a local charity, but apparently PB isn't willing to resolve the issue and support our local community... even though it seems they are not capable of picking up their product that shouldn't have been sent to me in the first place. I wish this was my poor shipping experience with this company, but at this point I highly advise other shoppers to look elsewhere as there are other wonderful furniture companies with better customer care teams. read more

I was so excited when I found that this store had the flatware my had registered for, which Potterybarn.com couldn't get to us until December - well after her October wedding. We ordered it on-line for pick-up and then drove 30-45 minutes to theTyson's Corner store, where we discovered that one of the three boxes was half empty - containing two of each piece instead of four. Now, this is stainless steel flatware and the "short" box was noticeably lighter weight than the other two and had clearly been opened but apparently no one bothered to check it before "fulfilling" the order and having us drive 30-45 minutes each way for it. Having waiting a good bit for service, we also explained that we had dinner guests coming and needed to get done quickly and back home. After waiting around for another 20-30 minutes of staff floundering (three different people, one of whom tried to tell me that if we put the two and a half boxes together it would make our 12 pieces - didn't seem to understand that a box labeled 12 pieces should contain 12 pieces all by itself! Or that two boxes of 12 plus a box of 8 didn't add up to 12!) a manager finally came to help us. He determined that they didn't have any more and neither did any other store in the area. He suggested having an out-of-area store ship it (we lost free shipping, because now we're only buying the one replacement box due to a Pottery Barn error, even though our actual order did qualify for free shipping when we placed it). Fortunately, I found a box of the flatware at the King of Prussia store in Pennsylvania, and they were so incredibly helpful! She checked, found a box of the flatware, and opened it to verify completeness before I even asked her to, then immediately sent it to us UPS. It made the purchase a little more expensive, but we got it in time for the wedding. Kudos to the Pennsylvania store, but we'll not be back to the Tyson's Corner Pottery Barn. read more

Customer service is terrible! My husband and I bought a crib and a dresser, floor model. When I went to pick it up and it was not ready, which is fine. People who loaded the dresser and the crib in the car were absolutely ignorant! The way how they arranged everything makes no sense. The crib was scratching the dresser. I was so upset that I had to talk to the manager. They gave me a discount, but the way how they treat their customers does not make any sense. It is no a cheap store and I expect excellent customer service. The crib is expensive should not be shoveled into the car. read more

The people at pottery barn were helpful and they tried to assist with the issue. We were ultimately able to get a full refund for the delivery service and we were able to finally get the dresser we ordered. However there were many issues for example, when the truck did eventually get here they brought up the wrong piece first and took almost an hour to figure that out. The problem seems to stem due to a lack of communication between the trucking company and Fidelitone. Fidelitone is the 3rd party delivery company that pottery barn outsources their deliveries to in this area. The trucking company is another entity. read more

Awful customer service!!! I spent over 1 hour on the phone from 4 different stores that couldn't figure what they were doing! So incompetent! On my fourth frustrated attempt...when I was finally closing the purchase, I gave the sales person the discount number from my interior designer, she said that she couldn't do that. All my purchases from them are made through my interior designer's account to be able to get an additional 10% off. I never got any obstacles previously. I asked for the manager: Aster, super unhelpful and zero desire to give good customer service. Sarcastically, she was not helpful, short, dry, and cynical:"is there anything else that I can help you"? Seriously, no thank! I will purchase elsewhere that values good customer service. We went into PB Kids at Tysons Corner. We were pretty disappointed in the customer service we received, expected more from PB. First, we walked in and passed by three associates that were chatting away and we were not even greeted. Once we were able to get the attention of one of the sales ladies, we explained that we were looking for a glider chair and crib. As a former sales representative, I would have thought she would show me around to see which items would best fit my needs. I had seen a specific glider online, so showed the sales associate what I was interested in. She told me they didn't have that one in the store but I could purchase it online. I explained to her the only reason we were here in the store was to try out the chairs before purchasing it. (We purchase from PB often, and understand it takes awhile for items to get built, shipped.) She mentioned that it would take about 4-5 weeks depending on the item. So I reiterated, the only reason we specifically came to a PB physical store during COVID was to try out the chairs and take a look at the merchandise before we purchased it since it takes a very long time for getting the item. I had ordered items 6 months ago and had just received the delivery this last week, and had to send it back due to damages - so I understood that it took awhile to receive the item (especially with COVID). Also, with a baby on its way, I did not have the time to wait 6+ months to not have crib or glider. I asked if there was another PB that might have it so I could take a look. Her response was that she didn't know, and that I should look it up on the internet and call the stores. That was a bit frustrating, and not very helpful. We ended up looking around and walking out. We had no one follow up with us or check up on us to see how we were doing or if we needed any additional help. It was a pretty poor customer service experience! I'm giving PB Kids Tysons store 2 stars since the lady did stop chatting with her PB colleagues to come talk to me, but was not helpful and we ended up walking out without the best customer experience. read more

The most horrible customer service ever ! I placed an online order using black friday promotion code. An email comes back saying not available for pick up. But note- the website still showed in-store availability and no one has cared to change the status !! I try reaching out to the customer service to place order again for shipment this time because it wont let me use the promotion code again online. What do you get - signature Pottery Barn service - call drops, call transfers, long wait and at the end nothing resolved !! So I place the order online again . This time no communication at all. So I call the store myself because No one reaches out to me from the store about the status - neither an email nor a call. What do I get ?? One would expect at least an offer to honor the code while I was ready to pay the shipment. No,thats not PB !!! To top it, I spoke with the gentleman Adam (their associate)- he was outright rude, curt and pointing out to me the TIME I placed my online order , hmmm ! I wish I could give this store zero stars for their zero customer service. I went to this store to check out a rug I found on their website. I went three times to the store. The first two times I proactively asked for help and was told they would be "right with me". I left after waiting 15-20 minutes. The third time I just went in to see if anyone would approach me and no one ever did. I was actively digging through their rugs looking for the one I found online. I never found it and no one ever asked me if I needed anything. Honestly, like someone else alluded to, I can't help but think some kind of racism is at play here. I mean what the heck?! The most unethical company I have ever dealt. While placing an order during a sale I was charged full price for three bar stools rather then the sale price. I immediately tried to cancel the order both on the phone (a 40minute plus wait time) and on the form on their order site. I continued to get confirmations that my order would be delivered in five months. Had I not had tried to cancel the order in the first place, the chairs are useless in five months. I again wrote to PB via the "someone will be in touch with you in three days." Again, no response. Despite multiple communications, PB charged my credit card the full amount. The only communication I had from them was a notice that the chairs "were on the way" and would be delivered sometime in September or October. I immediately called again and waited in 43 minutes until someone came on the line and, just as earlier, dropped the call. I have never, ever experienced such aggressively unethical behavior. Nor have I ever had to report a retailer for out right fraud. read more

I would give this store zero stars if I could. We came here for our wedding registry and the people who worked here were very unhelpful. 2/3 of the products did not have price tags on them for us to tag with our guns so when we came to the front desk to ask how to register for these items, the woman responded to us by saying, "you would think your wedding was tomorrow by the way you're coming up here". This was the older brunette woman with the pixie haircut. We were looking for our registry for our engagement party in September. I would not suggest anyone to come here to register. Every woman working at the store this day told us, "just register online". Honestly, go anywhere else. read more

This is horrific place to buy. I ordered 2 drapes orders for curbside pick up and got a text to pick up. I went from Aldie to Tysons 2 hours commute and picked up and reached home. When I opened the box and I have only one rod. Called the number on the text, the dude have no idea on how to read an order. First he said the other rod is back ordered but that is for a different size rod. All he knows is diameter of the rod, he has NO idea on the length of the rod. I keep insisting that I missing one more rod from small length. Later he figured that the item was cancelled. I have not received any notification on cancellation. Such waste of time to commute to pick up. Very very poor customer service. Not sure why this place is till open in Tysons. My Order number is #302512651852 for verified purchase. read more
