    Fall at Pottery Barn
    Kim G.

Pottery Barn is the vanilla ice cream of home decor. The style is just fine on it's own - a plethora of white, off-white, cream, ecru, tan and cappuccino colored fabrics and accessories - that are beautiful on their own. Depending on your personal style and taste, enhanced when "topped" with pops of color. This year they are definitely leaning towards the creams, which had been replaced by shades of gray for the last 5 or so years. It's almost Autumn, so lots of Fall themed home decor. Pamba grass stems to give a retro boho look. Textured pumpkins and acorns. Stems of leaves and grasses. They have a furniture department and you can order custom fabrics. A decent selection of bedding in cotton, bamboo or linen. I appreciate the natural materials as anything else makes me sweat. And bathroom accessories, pillows, glassware and home decor. Searching for a bathtub caddy is what brought me here today. I wandered around the store for quite sometime until assistance was offered even though I was one of just a few people in the store. I have been here many times, usually for a specific item and not to decorate an entire room or buy large pieces of furniture. My style is more clean lines and I prefer to curate a room so it represents me and not a store's brand. There is a small parking lot behind the store for free parking.

As a long time customer of Pottery Barn I must say they have definitely gone down hill in quality and customer service! I purchased a rocker-power recliner 7 months ago and although it was supposedly a performance fabric it is now pilling all over and arms are dented due to cheap foam material! Customer service told me this is normal wear and tear, sorry! How can you pay top dollar at was a once quality store to be told sorry it's normal after 7 months to look like a used chair from Goodwill?? Totally unacceptable I will close my account and never purchase from Pottery Barn again!

OMG, I tried shopping online, but if color and texture matter to you, it's best to come into the store. You can make an appointment with a free design consultant if you want excellent help. If you bought online, you can return it here. This location has its own private parking lot in back. The staff are knowledgeable and remember your face if you become a regular.

Pottery Barn couch bleaching after less than 3 years time
    Kathryn S.

I bought a couch less than 3 years ago from Pottery Barn. The cost of the couch with delivery was $1,300, and I had it upholstered in Sierra twill red by Pottery Barn. I live alone in an apartment and the couch doesn't get much use. It's been sitting in indirect sunlight since I've had it. Much to my horror, I went to move my living room around a few weeks ago, and the entire back of the couch has changed to light pink color. This bizarre bleaching is also happening on the tops of all of the cushions. When I contacted customer support, they refused to help me with the item unless I paid a sizable fee because the couch was more than a year old. This fabric is very poor quality and I expected better from Pottery Barn...a business that prides itself on quality. I won't be buying furniture from Pottery Barn ever again.

Roche "helped" us today. Not nice. Treated us like vagrants. Thumbs down, pottery barn.

The quality of the product exceeded expectations and we look forward to many years of use and relaxation. We have been living in Portland for five years and wish we had found City Liquidators sooner. We have a small craftsman cottage with limited space and David really helped us pick the right furniture for our space. If you live in a larger house the choices are endless. Not just furniture but antique bars, neon lights, classic oversized film and music posters and artwork. You can get a lifesize Harley Quinn or John Wayne wooden statue, credenza's or wardrobes along with any kitchen supplies and small appliances you might need. New and vintage choices abound. When you go plan accordingly as there are multiple floors of merchandise to choose from and free lollipops for the kids to keep them busy. Even if you don't buy anything, the first trip you'll be blown away by the selection and you'll definitely come back to get something unique the next time. That's what we did. Also, and most importantly, no pressure from the sales staff. They let you wander around and really look over anything you'd like. As I like to say you don't get the hard sell on the soft couch. Have fun.

Vast selection, the best vintage in Portland! When I visit, I plan on at least 45 minutes because there is so much to see! I walk around the entire footprint then turn around and walk the other direction because different items will catch your eye. If you are seeking an occasional chair, they have so many styles and cool pieces. Wish I had room for more! They just don't make these styles anymore or of the same quality. They usually have a large selection of couches also in shades of teal, orange, avocado just like on The Brady Bunch. Even plaid, if that's your thing. And of course boomerang shaped coffee tables to complete your seating area. There are so many unique one of a kind pieces too, like an upright piano transformed into a bar. OMG, I wish I had the space for it! What I always have room for is unique bar ware and glasses and they have lots to choose from. Lots of metal and sculptural wall art which really gives a room personality especially when complimenting paintings or prints. They have a large selection of table lamps but it's the hanging pendants that I really love. Perusing this store ignites so many memories! I see items that take me back to my childhood home, pieces I haven't thought about in years. My face lights up remembering a curved side table, a Sputnik light and metal flower wall art similar to what adorned our den. Or a set of whiskey sour glasses like the ones my dad drank from, prints on pillows that are in photographs in my family album. Furniture that over years made it's way to our basement and then probably a vintage shop like Hawthorne Modern! Love, love, love this place! I consigned 7 pieces with them in February 2023. Michael, the owner of the business, violated the terms of consignment contract in two ways and was just a poor business person to deal with. He violated the agreement by lowering prices for my pieces below the agreed threshold without notifying me, as was required. And he did not make payments to me following sales of individual items as was also required. Perhaps more importantly, as Renetta experienced, he provided no documentation whatsoever as to the actual sales of the items - no receipts, invoices sent to clients, no notation of sales prices per item, nothing. He just said the total proceeds were XXX$ (less than 50% of his original estimation). So he could have been completely making the number up. Because of this I asked for a report with prices by pieces and receipts. He refused to provide one. When I eventually gave up on that, he then ignored my requests for payment until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I was finally paid for my pieces almost a year after consigning them. I am a small business owner myself. I store receipts for every transaction my business conducts. If someone asks for a receipt or record of a transaction I can provide it easily. For Michael, this is too much to ask.

They have curated a vast collection of mid-century modern furniture, many unique pieces, and in good condition. Was impressed and amazed at how many chairs they have! Not one or two of this and that; they had enough of the same chair to surround a dining table for 6 or 8! And also many dining tables of different materials and styles. Michael, the owner, gave me a cheerful greeting upon entry and welcomed me into the store. He gave me details on several items I was checking out, and since he didn't have the Eames chairs in the particular color and leg style I'm seeking, he offered to reach out to his network and get back to me. Now that is service! The store is deceivingly large so take your time and go through every room. In addition to couches, occasional chairs, dining tables and chairs, there are coffee tables, ottomans, side tables, lamps, hanging lights, chandeliers, pottery, vases, some dinnerware and some beautiful art. I'm so happy that I discovered this gem of a store! I will be making my rounds here frequently. Beautiful items, fair prices, and super friendly and helpful service - a winning combo!
