Delicious chicken, I won't go anywhere else now that I had theirs! The sides are great too, but the service is what really stands out.

Killer rotisserie chicken. Sizable bird, brined juicy, great rub (if a bit too salty with the brine).

I was surprised to find that it's a ghost kitchen. You walk behind the coffee shop and order from a kiosk with many other restaurants to order from as well. My order took 15 minutes and within the estimated time frame that they gave you. Once my order was ready, I clicked to open via text and the locker popped open with my bag --viola! I ordered the Claude the Claw ($18.99) with medium spicy sauce on the side. The sandwich is pretty huge. I like how they wrapped the sandwich around the claw sticking out from the bottom. I did take it out of the wrapper for the picture, but suggest you keep the wrapper on as it gets messy to eat. The spices and flavor is delicious and the chicken is crispy and tender. It's a great Nashville hot chicken sandwich overall. While the claw is insta-worthy, it's not quite worth the extra $4 (plus you can't really even eat it, so it's all for show). I'd suggest getting the claw for your first time, but I'd get the regular sandwich in the future for the lower price.

That said, the sandwich itself is great. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, and the spicy, smoky sauce complements it beautifully. It's a solid, flavorful sandwich that's definitely worth trying. You will need to decide for yourself if it lives up to the hype. A heads up, the place can be tricky to find. It's tucked inside a building behind the coffee shop that Google Maps directs you to, and seating is very limited.

While there is a variety of items to order, Charles Classic Combo caught my eye in a heart beat. For $10.95, you receive two pieces of fried chicken, the side of your choice and complimentary corn bread. The sides are plentiful and the only problem you will have is selecting because you will want to explore them all. There are so many options such as black eyed peas, collard greens, white rice and string beans. If you are not in the mood for fried chicken, you may choose 8 pieces of shrimp or a turkey wing. These are the classic combo menu items I explored: Cornbread: This is probably by far one of the biggest pieces of cornbread I explored. It has a crumbly texture and was soft and chewy. Mashed Potatoes: The potatoes were smooth and creamy. The gravy was the backbone to this side. Although the sauce was kind of sloppily thrown on, it still had a perfect taste. Fried Chicken: Now I see why this spot is called Charles Pan-Fried Chicken, hence the catchy name. While I was observing the preparation of the main course in those gigantic pans, I immediately knew Charles's recipe was going to be on the money. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside with tender, white meat on the inside. And the drum stick was paradise as well. Indoor seating is limited to a few stools, but there are multiple outdoor picnic tables. As a bonus, all take out orders are provided with simplistic directions for re-heating the meal. Detailed microwave and oven instructions are listed, but I highly recommend preparing everything in the oven for a true authentic taste. It was truly a fantastic experience exploring this fried chicken spot in Harlem. If you are ordering delivery, It is recommend to order from www.charlespanfriedchicken.com instead of a third party app. The consumer cost is cheaper and Chef Charles Gabriel and his staff will receive a better profit. #charlespanfriedchicken #charlesclassiccombo #charlespanfriedchickenharlem #chefcharlesgabriel #chefquie

We timed it perfectly because of the 4 tables , one was available! After asking the cashier where orders are placed I realized there was a 3-person line, and it went quickly. I was almost talked into the family meal (10 pieces, 3 large sides, cornbread $45), but since I have a picky eater & knowing he won't eat anything but the rice or Mac 'n cheese, I decided to do 3 individual plates and get everyone what they desired. EVERYTHING was fresh, hot, & delicious! If I could only get Mr Charles to build in NC, I'd have a replacement for the delicious Price's Chicken Coop (#StillMissYou)! Thank you Harlem & My Charles & grandson for the hospitality w/delicious food.

Replacing pickles and mayo with red onion and mint chutney? Mental. Chef is a straight-up genius for that one. Grabbed the mini samosas on the side and washed the fire down with a Thums Up. That soda hits way harder than a Coke--sharp, spicy, and high voltage. Shoutout to Eric for holding it down and helping me navigate the spice. A classic NYC hole-in-the-wall, this place is almost designed to be missed. Blink, check your phone, or dodge one too many pedestrians, and you've walked right past it. Try not to, it's worth the stop. Pricing sits a little on the higher side for a combo, but let's be honest - this is New York. The burgers are bold, satisfying, and built to impress. I went for the chicken and veggie sandwiches, both dressed with a mango lime sauce that genuinely were very flavorful. The tomato aioli on the side was another win. And the fries? Crispy, golden, and dusted with a Cajun-meets-Indian spice blend that somehow makes complete sense and zero sense at the same time - in the best way. Rowdy Rooster is a must-visit: come ready for real Indian heat and flavor.

Let's check out the two-course meal I explored. Coney Island Cooler: Coconut Mango: This frozen non alcoholic beverage is blended with two amazing fruits. It still tasted excellent even without the alcohol. If you do prefer a kick, choose a frozen cocktail with either tequila or vodka. Harlem Hots: This masterpiece is smothered in hot sauce and topped with scallions and blue cheese crumble. The inside was tender and juicy. Have them as is or with blue cheese dipping sauce; the choice is yours. Tribeca Truffle Mac: The shells are cooked in american and cheddar cheese and sprinkled with chives and bread crumbs. You have to give this a "tri" be size you will be highly satisfied! I Scream Tender: This may look like a chicken tender, but it is actually ice cream. Toffee crust replaces breadcrumbs, vanilla ice cream in lieu of chicken, and chocolate caramel dipping sauce is substituted for barbecue sauce. It looks so identical to the the main course, i couldn't believe this was a dessert.
