    Stir Fried Brussel Sprouts

Cuisine: 7 Service: 8 Decor: 8 Value: 7 Overall: 7 If you are looking for unique food, and you love chicken, then give this place a chance. It will not taste exactly like the traditional Dao Kou Style Chicken from Henan province in China since the chicken itself is not the same. The meat texture of the chicken from Henan province is just simply more complex and flavorful. However, at least we have something different being offered at this restaurant. From my understanding, this style of chicken is first deep fried, then marinated, and finally braised to achieve the final product. This process creates a fall off your bone chicken that is quite juicy and tender. Sadly I didn't think the marinade was all that flavorful, more medicinal if you know about Chinese herbal supplements that are often used in cooking. Regardless, still a decent chicken, though I would not give up my southern fried chicken or Peruvian roast chicken. We got a Whole Chicken Combo with stir fried brussel sprouts and egg soup. Both of us absolutely loved the brussel sprouts, which was quite crunchy and flavorful. The egg soup had a nice touch of seaweed. I wanted to try some of their other menu items, so I guess I'll be back.

This is the best roast chicken I have ever had in my entire life and just thinking about it has my mouth watering. So what makes this chicken so great? It is meat-off-the bone tender. It is succulent. The skin is so well marinated it is unlike any roast I've ever had before. It comes with chili powder that you can dip your meat in, and although that powder is to die for (they really should sell that by the bottle - I'd buy it) the chicken itself is so well seasoned it tastes fantastic without it. Although the chicken was the star of the show, the sides were also exceptionally delicious. The spicy cucumbers were refreshing, salty from the soy and has a kick from the chili sauce. I enjoyed it, even though I usually don't like cucumbers. The scallion pancakes were wonderfully crisp and the fried rice had such a rich umami flavor, you'd find yourself picking the plate clean. Even the side of raw onions were superb: More sweet than pungent, it went well with a bite of chicken. Every element that came with my order was a 10/10. I want to come here again. And I'm not just saying that as a formality. I *need* to come back.

I was in the area so decided to drop by since I've heard about their chicken and I love a well prepared chicken. Upon entry, it's a small hole in the wall with a few tables and chairs to eat in. You go to counter to order then grab a table. The lady at the counter was friendly and quickly took my order of 1/2 chicken combo, with one side and a drink. I end up ordering side of fried sweet potatoes and ice tea. I wish there were more drink choices. Once I got home I broke open the takeout and the chicken smelled fragrant. The fries were soggy but still very tasty. The chicken felled off the bone and with the spice dip it was delicious. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. Will go back for the chicken and try other sides when I'm by west village.

Very good chicken. It's fall off the bone and very juicy. The sides and other dishes are also pretty good and complement the chicken well. The restaurant itself is small and casual with fast friendly service. I can definitely see this as a go to weeknight spot for local residents who need a quick cozy meal after a long day of work.

The food was healthy and light on the stomach, this is cleaning eating. Wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, breast was dry. Lacked flavor to me, slight hint of herbs. The cucumbers were good, but tasted of sesame oil only. Overall not bad but lacked a lot. Place is a bit small so it's hard to maneuver. Customer service was good, and it was clean imo.

This chicken is amazing! Flavorful And tender throughout (including the breast). I got the whole chicken takeout for a very reasonable price. Order in store/ call ahead rather than online since you'll save a couple bucks. I only wish they gave more flavor dust for takeout orders since it was addictive. A good sub for that would be the Trader Joe's chili crisp seasoning. I would love to eat in some time. It was actually completely full when I picked up the chicken but the space is small. Definitely try it out.

A cozy spot with flavorful fried rice and decent chicken dishes. Ambience (3/5) The space is quite small and can feel a bit cramped, but it has a casual and lively vibe that works for a quick meal. Food (4/5) The pineapple fried rice is the standout -- fragrant, well-seasoned, and loaded with toppings -- while the chicken itself is decent though not particularly memorable. Value (4/5) Portions are solid for the price. Service (5/5) Staff are attentive and efficient -- offering gloves for messy dishes and keeping orders moving quickly, even during busy hours.

Finally made my way to Cauldron Chicken and am truly glad that I did! Super flavorful, fall off the bone chicken at a great price for the set meals. The spicy powder provided on the side makes it even better. Highly recommend coming in person. I'd previously ordered delivery which had lost some of the juiciness and regrettably led me to delay my in-person.

Very friendly and quick service for delicious chicken & sides. The value of everything is so worth it!! The meal is so satisfying and tasty. The space is very small, I don't know if there was a bathroom but expect a wait or tightness with seating. I still felt comfortable in the space though. I got the half chicken and shared sides. So good. Every part of my chicken was juicy and savory. The sides were essential to the meal-- they balanced the saltiness and textures.

4.5 There are 6 small tables for 2, in close proximity with each other. Busy on a Tuesday evening. Was asked for phone number, then got a call when our table was ready. Narrow space if waiting for a table, so most waited outside; we had time to get dessert (first) across the street. Only one person was at the counter, greeting, serving etc but he was good. He handed us an ipad for the menu, with some photos to help us decide. Also a posted menu above the counter. We were given plates with utensils and plastic gloves. The whole chicken meal was worth it at $29.99- with 2 drinks and 2 sides (had typical side options and more to choose from, even noodle soups). The large bowl of Lard Noodle soup was satisfying, with al dente noodles. Our 2nd side was the vegetable fried rice which went well with the fall-off the bone, very juicy (more like steamed texture) and flavorful chicken; with a spice powder mix and raw onions. Not typical roast chicken texture, which is on dry side that my family would usually prefer. Addtl rice for $2. This restaurant is on Bleecker and MacDougal Streets area, a block off 6th ave and West Houston St. Got off the West 4 subway stop. Busy, lively area even at night.

Food: The chicken was very juicy and fell right off the bone. The only reason why I'm giving it 3 stars (closer to 3 1/2) is because it just wasn't my flavor profile. It was boiled in a very Chinese herbal base, which is very mild in flavor. The white meat was juicy but lacked any seasoning. The seasoning they give is okay, but is also mild and lacked salt. We also got two sides. The spinach was good, however the fries tasted frozen and lacked any seasoning. Service and ambiance: The waitress was friendly and attentive. I like that they give gloves to eat and offer straws. The restaurant was on the small side with 5 tables that fit 2 each. There's also no restroom. It's a lot of food for a really good deal ($30 for whole chicken + 2 sides + 2 sodas/water). However, I'd only recommend if you prefer a more mild taste.

Probably one of the best deals for food in the area with the whole chicken combo being $30 and feeding two HUNGRY people well. The stir fried spinach was very delicious, extremely well seasoned and maybe the fastest I have ever consumed a plate of leafy greens. The chicken is some of the juiciest, most tender chicken I've ever had. It's super greasy and the bones just pull right out as the chicken quarters fall apart in your hands. The spicy powder for dipping is a great complement. The food came extremely fast and the service was pleasant and friendly. My only complaint is that they play the worst music I have ever heard extremely loudly.

    Jenny L.

Food: The chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful. The pickled cucumbers were a refreshing side dish that complemented the chicken perfectly. Half a chicken was more than enough for two people, making it a great value. Cost: The pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Half a chicken and one side is what our order came with. Environment: The restaurant had a simple, no-frills atmosphere. While the food is excellent, the seating is limited, so be prepared for a potential wait. Service: The service was efficient and friendly. The staff was helpful and attentive. Uniqueness: The concept of serving whole chickens with gloves was definitely unique and fun. It was a memorable dining experience. There is also an educational history behind how this chicken is made, especially the preparation required.

The chicken is crunchy, intensely flavorful, and carries just the right amount of heat. Each piece is buttermilk-brined, country-fried, and dusted with Sichuan peppercorns, Tianjin chilis, and five-spice, creating a combination that's spicy, numbing, savory, and deeply addictive all at once. But the menu goes beyond the famous fried chicken. Seasonal dishes rotate regularly, alongside standout chicken sandwiches and wings that deserve just as much attention. There's an energy to the food that feels modern without losing sight of technique or tradition. That balance comes directly from chef and founder Eric Huang. Huang grew up working in his family's Chinese restaurant while training as a cellist at Juilliard School before eventually abandoning music. After a detour studying history at Northwestern University, he committed fully to cooking and spent more than a decade training in some of NYC's most prominent kitchens, including Cafe Boulud, Gramercy Tavern, and Eleven Madison Park. As a sous chef at Eleven Madison Park, he was part of the team that helped the restaurant earn the title of "Best Restaurant in the World" in 2017. Like many chefs, Huang's plans changed dramatically in 2020 when the pandemic interrupted his ambitions of opening a Michelin-starred restaurant. Instead, he returned home to help save his family's struggling business. Out of that difficult moment came the dish that would define Pecking House: the now-famous Sichuan chili country fried chicken, reportedly perfected on the very first attempt. Pecking House succeeds because it combines serious culinary pedigree with food that's delicious, craveable, and unpretentious. The fried chicken alone is worth the trip and the long line.

It's a great Nashville hot chicken sandwich overall. While the claw is insta-worthy, it's not quite worth the extra $4 (plus you can't really even eat it, so it's all for show). I went here a while back to order lunch for takeout, and it was pretty good. After they opened, they added some specials ranging from $15 to $17, combining chicken with fries or dumplings, and I went with the sweet and spicy boneless chicken with standard fries, as you can also update the fries to the "spicy snow" version for an extra $1. The cashier was friendly. The sweet and spicy chicken is their version of Yangnyeom/양념치킨, and the combo came with a few moderately sized pieces. The breading was crispy, and the chicken inside was pretty tender. There was some sweetness, and it had a mild kick, though it wasn't as spicy as I prefer. The fries inside were OK. They had a good crisp to them and a good crunch, but needed a tad more salt. The fry portion was also much larger, so next time, I would just stick with the chicken. The free kimchi was standard and decent. This was a perfectly decent Korean chicken spot. If it were any closer to a Korean neighborhood, I doubt it would be doing well, but there is a distinct lack of Korean places nearby outside of the primarily takeout spot, which doesn't specialize at all in chicken. It fills a niche, and I would likely at some point stop in again to try their Korean chicken sandwich or their plain chicken to try more of their sauces.

LOL. so, I could eat those in the shop, and not feel like my hands are a total mess. SERVICE is friendly and helpful. ASK if you have questions. :) I've had the chicken wings, and the boneless fried chicken. I like the sauce choices, and the complimentary small container of kimchi . You need to ask for it if you want it. And, right there!! Boom!! That's a BENEFIT OF READING YELP REVIEWS. Right?!! :) That part of my take-out container that is open, is open for a reason--to keep the crunchiness of the chicken. If closed, the heat from the food would make it less crunchy. As if steaming it. So, the restaurant gives you your takeout container with one part open. Make sure it stays open. I still have to try the ramen, because I'm curious about the machine -see my photos--the machine helps you prepare your ramen sold in the colorful packaged ramen available in the shop. There is a MILD-SPICY-EXTRA SPICY. SELECTION. See my photos of the COLORFUL RAMEN WALL. There is seating available inside-about 6 tables. I'll update when I try the ramen, and I'll enjoy it inside the shop.
