I saw a video on instagram about the chicken sandwich with au jus before our trip to NYC and made it a point to try it. It was threatening to storm but my kid and I made our way from the AMNH to try the food. We sat outside since the trip over had us overheated a bit. The street was clean and quiet at around 2:30pm. This place is AMAZING. It is perfect in every way! The food is incredible. The breading on the chicken was so flavorful and portions were large. The dripping potatoes were to die for. I liked the mac & cheese, though it was more similar to buttered noodles for me, and I liked the Brussels sprouts. The chicken sandwich and potatoes really stood out as unique and excellent dishes. Everyone working was extremely friendly and the ambiance was very nice. On a Wednesday evening, there was soft French/jazz music playing that felt comforting and homey, and we did not struggle to chat over the music. The vibes were up. Food was pretty good. Almost didn't get the Mac and cheese because some reviews said it wasn't that good. I'm so glad I got because it was my favorite thing. Wasn't dry at all and the cheese was yummy. The chicken was kind of dry though and the kale was ok but not my favorite. The cauliflower was spicy and yummy but was too greasy. Loved this spot for a quick and healthy lunch to go! Was needing something a little lighter, as a visitor, after a previous day of being a tourist with bagels, pizza, etc. Popped in here with a friend and ordered to share - Chicken Combo Plate which comes with 2 sides and a choice of sauce. We got the Cucumber Health Salad (cucumber, cabbage, dill, carrot) and the Sautéed Kale (capers, dill, mustard). And also a smaller side of the Mac and Cheese. Ended up getting two sauces as well, the Salsa Verde and White BBQ. I would get this exact order again. One order was enough food to feed both of us for lunch and then some. The chicken is delicious, with and without sauce. Of the two, I liked the salsa verde especially. Bright and acidic. The two veggie sides really hit the spot! Between the cold crunchy cucumber salad and the hot kale, the combo of flavors and textures was great. They truly stuffed the to go container with mac and cheese as well, and this added an extra fun element to the meal! Not sure the mix of cheeses in this, but it's delicious, and pasta nice and al dente. Excellent lunch! Friendly and attentive counter service, and very fast to get us our food and on our way. The sandwich was very good, could've used a bit more chicken though. I didn't love the way the Brussel sprouts were cooked, only pan fried. My girlfriend and I did a takeout from here. We got chicken vegetable soup, garlic baguette, and beet salad. The soup tasted great and hearty. We dunked the garlic baguette into the soup, and it was great (see my photo)! Their soup not only tastes good but also healthy in that they don't add sugar. Highly recommended read more

Great little spot! We stopped in on a Tuesday and were immediately seated, but we got lucky--a couple parties had to be turned away after. We both got the chicken platter and tried the mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, garlic bread, and potatoes. What a great new place to add to my rotation on the uws. Great quality chicken, decent size portions, and tons of sides to choose from. I got the mac & cheese, which was really good, and the beet salad. Mac & cheese was cooked perfectly Al dente with perfect choice of cheese. Beats were crisp and refreshing. My only complaint is that the garlic sauce that I ordered wasn't a sauce. It was essentially a thick paste I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with that. I stopped by lPoulet San Tête to try their seed oil free rotisserie chicken with a friend and it was amazing. The atmosphere is well curated. The seating and spacing felt more intimate for family or dates but also for solo dining. They also have outdoor dining. You can see the rotisserie chicken cooking behind the counter. My favorites were the chicken baguette and chicken dripping potatoes. I loved how the chicken was tender & juicy. The sandwich came together really well. I don't know what was better because those potatoes hit the spot. Maybe some of the best potatoes I've ever had. The staff were welcoming and helpful. I mean VERY GOOD chicken soup, this is the place that you will find what you need. The broth is rich and tasty. Great variety of vegetables. And the chicken.... Well, their chicken is superb. (I mean, that's the main point of their business, isn't it?) So if you want chicken soup, this place will not disappoint you. As for other things, the roasted chicken is magnificent. This was my first visit, so I can't review comprehensively, but... I came up here from the Village with one objective: to try the Chicken Gobbler. I'd been on a bit of a hunt for Thanksgiving-type sandwiches, and someone on r/FoodNYC enthusiastically recommended this one. Their enthusiasm was justified. This was the best sandwich of its kind that I'd found in the city, beating out other places that I'd thought were excellent, and it didn't even use turkey! What it did have was rotisserie chicken, stuffing, apple cider vinegar onions, and cranberry sauce, on a great baguette. The stuffing was standout--no prepackaged factory stuff here--and the cranberry sauce was given a perfect light application that didn't overtake everything else, as sometimes happens. And the chicken au jus was a very nice touch. They don't have this specific item at the Village location, but hey, it's just a few minutes up on the 1, and so worth it. If you want the top tier of Thanksgiving sandwiches in NYC, come up there. read more

The Chicken Bagette au Jus is an elite sandwich. The juiciness--even pre-Jus dunk--is sublime and the bitter broc rabe compliments it perfectly. It calls to mind Philly-style roast pork sandwiches. The Poulet San Tete one is chicken -- that's fine; it's better even. And damn, the sandwich did not disappoint. It had the perfect ratio of meat to vegetable to cheese -- something that seems easy but so many places get wrong. I'll definitely order from here again (although it's going to be hard to choose something other than a sandwich -- both of these were so good). The chicken itself was excellent. Moist, well cooked and seasoned. Husband found a small bone in his half of the sandwich. We ordered delivery from this spot for dinner a few nights ago. The delivery was fast -- we live maybe 10 blocks from the restaurant which was good. The online delivery system was easy, there was a built in delivery fee that we were not aware of. We ordered one thing, a whole rotisseries chicken deboned, it was 40$ with the delivery fees etc, normally 27$ and 3$ to be deboned, and 2 $ for a tiny side of salsa verde. The chicken itself was tiny, so small that I in fact called the restaurant inquiring where the other half of it was, and they said that was the entire chicken. definitely NOT worth the price, the chicken was also poorly seasoned, needed salt, and more flavor. It was juicy, however. Extremely fatty if you like that sort of chicken, but there were definitely bones that we ended up having to pick them out. Definitely not worth it and I will not be back, I took the chicken the next day for lunch and it was consistent from the night before, would not recommend. read more

The chicken baguette au jus ($17) is basically a chicken dip sandwich with broccoli rabe, and I liked it. We took one for takeout, and there were globs of melted provolone studded with crunchy, pleasantly bitter broccoli rabe. The garlic baguette had softened, but it still withstood the aggressive dunking into the cup of oniony, savory, chicken dripping dipping sauce. The counter service was nice, and what I saw of the dine-in space looked comfortable. Real silverware and dishes, someone enjoying a proper glass of red wine. I'd want to dine in sometime. read more

I never leave reviews but was blown away by the customer service that I felt I had to share. Not only is the food awesome, but they are very accommodating to allergies/allergy friendly. I called to ask whether the items I wanted to order in had any allergens I couldn't have, after confirming they didn't and hanging up, the manager called me back to confirm they take this seriously and will ensure the kitchen knows of the allergies. I had high hopes and really wanted to love this place - offering fresh, real food available for lunch and dinner - but I too was overwhelmed with SALT like a previous reviewer. The chicken is nice and tender, but it has to be from all the salt. Thats all I could taste. We got a few sides (brussel sprouts were decent, potatoes were good and the zucchini corn, my favorite - good texture, flavor and cut the salt effect that lingered on my tongue). I was hoping this would be my go to for serving a great lunch for my boss and his family on his private flights, however, all I can say is I'm glad I went and tried it all out first.
