Power Movers moved me all the way back on October 1st and I am just now getting around to writing a review because I was thinking about using the guys to move something for me in the future. These guys were AMAZING!!! I would never think about using another company. I feel bad I'm just getting to this but here goes... October 1st we moved from a townhome to a townhome and they were both three stories. I know it had to be difficult to trespass all those stairs especially with the new place. Stairs are hard enough and they did it all without hurting my things or my walls!!! We had a lot of special items that are important to me and Chris, Lance, Shane, and Tyler took care of and wrapped every piece. When we were done, we were all tired but I hope they agree that it was worth it. I was and still am so pleased I will be calling them soon and I'll be happy to use them. The last thing I would like to say is that these gentleman were all polite and sweet. It's hard to have people in your home and handling all your personal things lets face it. My anxieties were relieved very quickly because they were just fun, nice guys. I hear the owner is in law enforcement so you know these guys are all and background checked and thats important as well. They also offer a TV mounting service and Chris came back and mounted my 2 TV's one in the living room and one in the master and they were done perfectly, wires all hidden and it's all so neat and clean I LOVE IT!!! Power Movers totally saved me after another moving company left me high and dry the day of my move. I was left with a 12 hour period to complete my move, no movers, and a busy summer Friday that was (surely) completely booked. I called the office and Jennifer 1) assured me they would do everything they could to accommodate my less than 4 hour move request and then 2) totally came through. Jennifer is on her game, and operations and logistics are what she does best. From there, I had the pleasure of working with Chris and Shane who, after what felt like the Murphy's Law of moving day experiences, went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I was setup from my move. What's worse...the freight elevator was out at my old apartment, so we only had one small elevator to complete the job. Chris and Shane never once complained, and kept the energy light to help keep my stress levels low. Chris even battled the drama of parking a very large moving truck in a very small, very crowded street in the Heights with absolutely no issues. Power Movers was an AMAZING and unexpected experience for me. They also have a credit card option and release sign off, which feels a little more legitimate than some of the other companies I have worked with in the past. I found these guys on here and based on the great reviews had to give them a shot. Being fairly new to Houston and having had some bad experiences with the bigger name companies I wanted to try a local company and I was so impressed with their service. From the booking with their office staff, K think her name was Jennifer to the guys that handled the actual move Lance, Shane, and Tyler I was nothing but totally satisfied with everything they were able to do for me. The guys were so funny and nice I didn't even feel like they were strangers and that's hard to pull off when people are handling your things. Nothing was overlooked from the wrapping of my more delicate items to furniture that was a little older. They treated everything like it was their own and it was amazing. They not only secured everything but did it under the time I was quoted I was stunned when I saw the bill and NO HIDDEN CHARGES!!! The price I paid when they handed me the bill was exactly what I calculated on my own. I called to tell the owner how great they did and he was so cool and took the time to have a quick conversation with me. I am a local realtor and have now used Power Mover for two of my own personal moves, both times over 4000+ sqft + outdoor planters + 900 kids toys + ride ons etc. To say the least, our moves are always a production. This time around, not having used the company for 3+ years, I was amazed at the consistency of customer service they have. The first move, years back, went amazingly smooth, and it was the same this time around. I also had the same movers from the first move, so I was already familiar with them! In my professional opinion, it speaks volumes when a service industry such as moving, that typically has lots of turnover, is able to keep and hold on to their employees! The guys texted me the morning of the move to let me know their eta, showed up on time and began to go to work immediately. They wrapped every piece in blankets and wrap, so good it was actually a pain in butt to take off (they actually remove it for you but I was trying to help), but I'm definitely not complaining! They were very efficient in labeling the items they removed from each room so that when the trucks were being unloaded, I didn't have to stand there and give them any direction. Use this company for your next move!!!! My girlfriend and I used Power Movers for our recent move and they were nothing short of excellent. Tru, Rigo, and Rodney (I believe, sorry if that isnt right) were awesome. For our move we had three stops, my place, her place, and the new place and none of that was an issue. They wrapped everything either with blankets or plastic wrap. So booking was easy and direct. With notifications the day before the move. They gave a an arrival window between 1-3pm and arrived at 1:15. They walked through my place and assessed what needed to be moved. And then go to work. They treated my stuff with care and were also courteous and engaged me in conversation. After they were finished we went to her place and they were great as well. At the new place they worked around the loading dock situation swiftly. As we got further they genuinely wanted to get done before their scheduled time. I loved that moment. They could have taken their time and "run the clock out" but they were trying to get done and wanted to get done. Moving is always a stressful time but Power Movers made it a lot less stressful and we really appreciated that. read more

It's difficult to know where to begin for this review...so I'll start at 8:45 a.m. Sunday morning when Lance, Chris, Shane and Christian showed up to start my move. I warned Lance when he called to confirm their arrival time that this was going to be a challenge...when I opened my door and Chris introduced himself I said welcome to Hell. I was moving a 2400 sq foot, three story with a tight staircase (of course all the heavy furniture was on the third floor). All four of these guys assured me that it wasn't a problem even though I think they were shocked at the volume of contents. Fast forward...the five of us worked side by side all day...we talked, joked and laughed which made us accomplish the task. House packed and on the road to new home...they were really relieved to see a one story!!! They worked tirelessly to unload the two trucks and get everything the way I wanted it. I don't usually write reviews, but feel compelled to do so for this young, hometown moving company because that's just how awesome they are! Not only are their prices competitive, the level of service they provided was that of some of the more established moving companies in Houston; if not superior to. As someone who's moved at least 5 times in the last 17 years, I've dealt with several other local companies and none compare to Power Movers. I called Gary to help me assist some friends of mine move (an older couple who hasn't moved in 20+ years) and were very stressed about the whole thing. Gary assured me his guys would take good care of them and was in touch with me every step of the way. Lance, Ruben and Shane took care of everything like pros and, most importantly, they took care of my friends and made a difficult move a pleasant experience for them. With 4 members in the family, we had to move from Mississauga to Ottawa. We were so pleased about the way the movers completed the job and the way James patiently replied to all my concerns and coordinated. My email chain with him had 61 messages! For the volume of work, James recommended a 3rd mover and it turned out to be a very good decision to do so. All 3 were super fast and super quiet and polite! They had pleasant conversations with my family as they were doing the job. In Ottawa, when it was past midnight, my kids fell asleep. The 2 movers quietly completed the rest of the work without having them wake up! The final invoice was no surprise. It was exactly as we predicted; no hidden fees; nothing! We were always intimidated hearing how moving companies scam and hold people in hostage situations. Power Moving put an end to all that. We hired Power Movers to move to storage both office and single-family furniture and other items from a 4,200 square foot two-story commercial building. Several items such as a 10-foot antique mirror and a circa 1830s coal-burning fireplace facade were included in the move as well as many other antiques. We were very impressed with the service and care we received as well as the short time it took to complete the move. Because of the efficiency of the move, the price was quite reasonable for the services performed. Not only were the services performed in a professional manner, but we were impressed with the company's web interface, which allowed us to pre-plan our move entirely online. Rounding out our enjoyable experience was the office staff of Jennifer and Allie, who provided that all-important element of maintaining communication with us throughout our experience. I used Power Movers for the first time time when moving into my partner's apartment and received awesome service. When we found a larger space at the end of our lease, there was no question in my mind about hiring them again! Lance and Gerald arrived right on time and went above and beyond in their service. Their friendliness and efficiency truly put me at ease during what I anticipated being a very stressful move. Even with a couple of bulky furniture pieces and one super tiny hallway, there was no problem that slowed them down. At our new apartment, they even removed a giant, ugly couch that the previous tenants could not manage to get out the front door! In both my experiences with Power Movers, I've been really impressed by how skillful, experienced, and good-spirited the movers are. This past Friday Power Movers moved me from an apartment complex with tight spaces and no elevator, to a different complex in Houston, and I can't say enough about how great my experience was, especially because I know that my move wasn't easy. I had scheduled my move well in advance, then had a few last minute changes that were out of my control and they were understanding and accommodating. They were able to reschedule my move last minute and never made me feel like an inconvenience. Gary, the owner, and Chris were the two gentleman who moved me and they worked hard and efficiently. I have a LOT of large, heavy, nice, furniture and they handle it with care, caution and ease. They disassembled what needed to be, and reassembled it at the other end with no problems. It was terribly hot and humid too, and they kept a smile on their face and a pep in their step! I can't thank them enough and I highly recommend them to anyone who has an upcoming move! read more

We requested the week of our move and chose Power Movers because of their competitive pricing. Easy decision! The day-of was a bit complicated. We had scheduled our movers from 1-4pm. Our crew was booked for an earlier move at an apartment complex that lost power to their elevator. That being said, it took them a long time to complete this project. They showed up at 7pm finally at our apartment to start our move. It sucked on our end but we were really gracious to them as they were constantly keeping us in the loop of their ETA. I could tell they felt bad and were tired but man did they work hard once they arrived. The manager was also very kind throughout this process and gave us a discount due to the inconvenience of having our move start 6 hours late. The crew was very kind, professional and really good with all the fragiles. Nothing was damaged to our property or our home. We'd give them another try if we ever need movers again! read more

I used Power Movers for a long distance move, from Houston, TX to Dayton, OH. They don't normally do long distance moves, but I was able to work with Jennifer in the office to get the trip quoted out. I had good luck with Power Movers on a previous short move, I wanted to hire them again. They were EXCELLENT! My crew was Tyler, Ray, and Lupe. The same crew loaded the truck, drove the entire distance, and unloaded at the destination. The same crew picked up, and delivered on specific dates (no date ranges). That removed so much stress from the process. Some other movers won't give you a date when they'll show up with your stuff until last-minute. Excellent communication, they showed up on time for both pickup and delivery. I could see the truck's location for the entire drive. More expensive compared to other long distance movers, but their professionalism and service was worth paying a bit extra in my opinion. Thanks Power Movers! read more

After I sought bids on Yelp, Power Movers was the first to respond and offered the best price to move the large pieces of my house into a new home about 4 miles away. I needed a quick appointment since my move was hastened by broken pipes from the freeze. Andrew communicated efficiently to get me in the next day. On Saturday Lance contacted me to give me a precise update of when he and Tyler expected to arrive within the 2-hour window I was given. After a general consult of what needed to be moved, Tyler and Lance made quick work of prioritizing, wrapping, carrying the furniture using proper equipment, and loading the sizeable truck. We asked them to add a number of pieces to the move and they were eager to help. Both were friendly, sociable, and really worked as a TEAM. On the other end of the move the guys showed the same level of energy and professionalism. I would definitely use Power Movers again. read more

Initially I thought Tyler And Daniel were great until I found I am missing items! One in particular was an office chair! I called the office 3x and left a voicemail message! My old apartment complex has video at the loading dock showing them loading it into the car, but at my next apartment they never unloaded it! Also my move took 4.5 hrs for a one bedroom without a living room set! When I compared it to a girlfriend who moved the next day with a different company & has a dining room set it only took them 3hrs!! I don't know what took them sooo long compared to my friends, especially after I was nice & respectful! I also offered them water and starburst I have as decor in my kitchen! Do you know they didn't even throw away the water bottle or starburst wrappers?? They left it ALLL OVER MY LAST APARTMENT & THEN STOLE MY OFFICE CHAIR! I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN!! read more

I have move several times due to my job. With good and many bad experiences. My moving helpers Chris and Rodni, did an above and beyond job, from beginning to end. They called to ahead to communicate their arrival time which was as estimated. The needed packing, loading and unloading were done professionally and at a good pace. They are hard working, respectful and considerate people. Since the move was around noon, on a hot day, while stopping to get food as we agree, they offer and brought food for me (that I paid for) as well. That is added value to their wonderful work. The cost of the moving even after tip was very reasonable, as well as the time it took to complete the whole process.. Note: Thank you Rodni for your spiritual prayer. Gary, Antonio and Quinn just wrapped up our move and man these guys were great. I was a little nervous about the move, but they exceeded my expectations. Gary called me to let me know they were on the way and that I'd receive a text with a link to track them. They arrived and packed up my so quick! They arrived at the new place and made sure they parked in a safe place and got straight to work. These guys meant business! Moving things into the house quickly, while they remained friendly and courteous the entire time. They worked quickly around the cleaning crew on-site without a problem. I can not say enough good things about Power Movers! To start, their customer service was fast, easy and efficient. It took no time at all to get a quote, ask my questions and get my move scheduled. Next...they offer a set of free RE-USABLE boxes with my move!! How cool! This helped me save money on boxes that should go into recycling, but usually end up in the trash. Plus, they drop off and pick up when you are done unpacking for future movers. I haven't used a moving company in the past with this perk - Love! When moving day arrived, the crew was on time, quick and careful. Everything went smooth, and I was moved in! This team is great.
