I just have to say for the customers with a little knowledge on what you expect as a build to match your project VW. PowerHaus doses quality work for the most part. I have used them twice so far and no surprises just yet on the second engine. They are willing to work with you at some point. Just as a suggestion. They can be a little more flexible for certain areas. Like use of other brand of cam grinds. And also to be open on choices of ratio rockers. Some time maximizing lift ratios. Make the engine work harder also. But overall work is very professionally done. Time line can improve with the A-1 Exhaust turn around package. Just as a note. This establishment is hard to beat. Let me start off by saying that I am extremly picky about who I fork my hard earned cash over too. I drove about 60 miles to have our Manx dune buggy worked on. They were genuinely excited to work on my buggy. I kinda felt like they treated it like their own car. Basicly I had em undo the last owners Jerry rigs, not a fun job. You hear people say "you could eat off the floor cause its so clean" Its literally the truth at this garage. Ive never seen anything like it. This is a family run operation by a lifelong local. They have been in business a long time and they aren't goin anywhere. I was kept abreast of the progress and expense so we had no bombs dropped on us at pickup. ( You all know that "OH CRUD, YOU WANT HOW MUCH?" bomb) If you are anywhere whithin an hour of these guys, you just found your new VW guru's. read more

I just purchased a 69 bug, I had no idea how much TLC it needed, until John and his guys went through it, and found a bunch of stuff I probably would have overlooked. They are very thorough about the process, and John explains down to the T what they will do and why. My bug now runs a million times better then it did when I brought it in. This review is way over due, For yrs. I have always wanted a 2332 motor, I contacted John & he was very helpful and thorough with what they could build me. I went in to discuss what I wanted & delt with Jerry, I wanted something Badass Fast but not a time bomb. Jerry walked me threw their shop & showed me all they were building. Very impressive, it's like a kid walkin' through a toy store. These guys know motors, after going there a few times to see the progress I decided to up the build to a 2387. Every time I called and talked to John or went in and saw Jerry, in no way were they ever short with me or to busy to answer any questions. ( So rare to find business people like that ) Longer story short, I've now got 1700 miles on it and it runs very strong. I took my employee for a E ticket ride & a week later when I asked my other employee if he wanted a ride, he said " No, I heard it was really fast & I didn't wear my depends today." This guy built an engin for me in June of 2013 by July of 14 the China distributor that he put in a turn key motor failed and destroyed my timing gear. I call him he says the year is up and I don't have to help you. But if you ship it to me I'll fix it for 750. Plus shipping. Witch would cost me 1500 to get it fixed. I didn't put 300 miles on engine. All I wanted is to pay shipping and him to fix it. He would not help. I don't want to buy a engine that gives me 200 miles and then needs the case split. He uses junk China parts. Nothing German at all. He is all about your money then fails to back his parts. I shouldn't have to split a case after 200 mile period. It might be a clean facilitie but he needs to stand behind his parts and work. Also it leaked oil from cheap spring loaded push rod tubes. He needs to get rid of China junk for what you pay. My motor cost 6100 and got 200 miles. I am very sad. If I could have given no stars I would have. Thank you John for your junk! read more
