One star is too much for this company. I don't even know why they keep calling, I don't own a house I'm not interested in home improvement, and I now abhor their company and its atrocious business practices. Somehow they got hold of my phone number, and mercilessly call me at least 15 times a week, every time when I asked them to take my phone number off they hangup, and end up calling again later. The only solution I have found is to start blocking numbers from my smart phone. They are the definition of perseverance, and I cannot stand them. There is a 0% chance I will ever recommend or use this company. I decided that I would go through the HERO Program to get my central air conditioning for my home. I was so excited. Powerstar Home Energy Solutions came to my home presented their PowerPoint and in a couple weeks they installed a central air conditioning system. Leaking started to happen where my room ceiling was damaged. I called 4 numbers I had on file for them and No answer. I even called Ethan, a representative, call didn't go through. I called the HERO program offices and they informed me that they are no longer with the HERO Program. The HERO program doesn't work with them anymore because of poor customer feedback. Now, I have no way of getting a hold of them and have to pay money for another company to clean this mess. Very frustrating! The solar company (Power Star Home Energy) did come to my home to give me a quote for their window services back in march of 2014. They're pricing was well above the normal range compared to other companies I talked to, so I decided to purchase my windows at 1/5th the cost somewhere else. I've since informed them that I no longer need the services and yet they continue to call. Numerous times, I have requested them to stop calling me and they tell me everytime, "I'm sorry, I'll remove you from our list" but they continue to call. I see from reading these reviews that their are others in my situation, this company needs to follow the DNC law and learn to track their database of numbers more accurately so that they can effectively stop harassing their prospective clients after they make the request to place them in the DNC list. One star mandatory. Biggest scam ever. My mom had her air conditioning done by this company through the hero program, for one super over priced. $18k with just replacement of the actual a.c. unit. Not any of the duct no cleaning of the ducts or anything else. We are having problems with it not working so we called to see if we can have a few issues resolved and some guy Rick Hoeback told me they can't fix it because the city inspector wouldn't have signed paper work if it wasn't ok. Our roof has gotten damaged due to them not doing their drain lines properly and they said it's not their fault. I called today because the a.c. sounds like it's running but nothing is coming out the vents and they said they can't get anyone out here for another 3 days. My grandma is 87 years old sick and they pretty much told me they don't care. Stop letting these people rip people off. The Michelle lady who answers the phone is also very rude every time we have called and she hangs up on you when ever she doesn't have an answer to your question or you ask to speak to someone else. Let a young man who came to my door talk me into having a estimator come over to give me a quote for Tex Cote Cool Wall, the " permanent solution " to painting my house. He spoke of the energy program that had just come to Garden Grove and how it helped people with older houses improve them and cover up to $4500 of the cost of improving your home to make it more energy efficient. The estimator walked around my house and pointed out stucco damage. I asked him for an estimate. He would not get to that, but insisted upon forging on through a computer based presentation . He spent the better part of an hour and half going on about the company and the product. I asked several times about the discount or subsidy program and who funded it, was it state city or county. The so called energy star program was only a supposed discount from their supplier to to make "five showcase homes" but was a limited time offer that you had to say yes to that night. The HERO program which is city or county connected has nothing to do with a discount, (as he described it) but rather the opportunity to finance at a supposed good rate and finance it by having it put in your property tax bill as an assessment. Nothing was discussed about any county or city program that covered any part of the cost. I asked several times. After darned near two hours I got a 19K estimate which he could not or would not break into cost elements, and he would not name the discount offer because I would not commit that night. It was a long tedious sales pitch filled with catch phrases like. " is that something that makes sense to you?" I have been in sales, and am not amused by direct simple questions being talked around, and the only direct info offer having nothing to do with what I was told before the appt. You sell by benefit and value, not by dancing around direct question. If he said " the point about that is..." Once he said it 20 times. 19K to cover my house with so called permanent coating? I told him I would do research and decide. He left no written estimate, nor could he email it to me, told me to write it down, but promised it would be good for year. I am sure he wrote me off, as he refused to tell me the possible discount for being the so-called showcase home, and allow them to bring people by, write a letter of recommendation , promise not to disclose the price.. He said I did not qualify for it, because I would not agree to it that night. It was a lesson learned. If they call you or knock at your door, don't waste your time. She didnt know that a model match quote I got from another company who also only sells ANLIN gave me a quote for same house for 7700 total and later lowered to 7K total............ HUGE price difference for same products OMG WOW!!! All other quotes for other types of windows same price range 6-9K. I feel so bad for whoever purchased from them or BETH!!! I live in Long Beach and those guys just called me and said they have great city programs that help homeowners to upgrade the old houses in the area (older than 15 years) and they offer windows, air conditioning, heating etc. Since we've just upgraded almost the whole house, we were interested in heating only. Btw we had some quotes on it and the highest was 8.5k. The representative of this company came over, looked at everything then told us about their great company, service and the companies they work with, which are the "Best companies" - that's what he said, I actually believe him but the quote was just way too high for us. After all the possible discounts it was 17.5k. I believe the quality of the product worth it, especially with the 10 years warranty but still way too high for us. So the next day they called me back and were going to come back but I told them that even with their best price, we're not going to be anywhere close to where we'd like to be on the price. Then suddenly the nice girl became rude and hang up on me. Also we initially were interested only because they promised the good prices, which they did not provide. When I have already got quotes for 16k. then he said I qualified for some promotional model home thing and they could do it for 19k and said it was basically free cause I would get all the money I pay throughout the year back on my taxes. Got a call today four days later from "David." He clearly had other things on his mind and was trying to reschedule me. When I expressed my irritation that no one came or called till now he basically told me that he was just following up on notes and it was clear he didn't care. I very deliberately remained polite and calm and told him in effect that the attitude he conveyed was not in keeping with someone trying to make a sale. He became upset said "You are not a customer. I have asked them repeatedly to remove us their list, mentioning our enrollment in the Do Not Call Registry, but every few days we get another call from them. This is a scam. They want you to pay $40,000.00 for windows that you can get for $4,000.00

The good- The company did some AC work for me. I should've done more research into specifics as I ended up getting a thermostat inferior to the one I already had and it wasn't something that could be taken off the invoice. But the work was quick and professional and I learned about the hero program from them which helped a bit. The bad- Pricing. Their prices are crazy high and probably significantly higher than what you can get from other companies. The ugly- The invoice was not itemized, you ought to be able to opt out of various things you don't need The sales pitch is strong, including pushing for additional work within weeks of getting the first set of work done. And their products are simply expensive. The other reviews note that this is an expensive company with strong sales pitches and lots of phone call telemarketing. I didn't have a bad experience using them but they were expensive and the cost savings for the new a/c have not really materialized. Two times I have set up appointments for a representative to come out and provide an estimate and both times, it is a No-Show, No-Call!. I called the number of the representative and of course, on received voice mail. I was able to track down a corporate number and spoke with an assistant manager who explained that what I was asking for was not available in my area. He offered a $500 discount if I would buy something else. Wow. I think this company is in trouble. They must be scrambling to find qualified help as this Assistant Manager mentioned that both times, the people I talked to were new and didn't understand about service products for only specific areas.
