I had Alps replaced a new Lennox AC & heating system along with touchscreen thermostat and a couple new ducts. They did a beautiful job for an over $10 K project! I was very happy with Alps performance in 2016! In 2026 (10 years later), Alps once AGAIN impressed me!!! My touchscreen thermostat reached its 10 years lifespan. Sadly, it went completely unreadable on me in the warm June 2026 - the beginning of the CA hot Summer month. Of course, my nice AC & heating systems won't function without a readable thermostat. Our air conditioner system went out back in July 2025 and I had an ALPS technician come to the house to check my system wasn't cooling. He told me that there was possibly a leak and he could refill my system, being it was 18 years old and the coolant was phased out the cost of the coolant was around $300.00 a pound and I'd need 3 pounds, so even if he filled the AC unit it would be a waste of money because of a potential leak. Long story short, I had 3 estimates for a new system. ALPs wasn't the cheapest however, they used a Lennox system which is still made here in the USA which important to me. On the day of the installation, Enrique and Lazaro showed up on time and had the old system removed and the new system installed in a few hours. They did a wonderful professional, clean installation and showed me how the system and the Ecobee thermostat works. read more

My 30 year old AC unit finally died so I had a new unit put in which required new ducting and a new, larger return as well as moving the electrical box and some wiring for the new unit. I just got an AC yearly maintenance with Alonso Rojas of ALPS heating & air and it was great. He came in within the appt time. He was very thorough, he check everything and beyond. He checked & cleaned where the AC drained underneath the sink, getting measurements on so many AC filters in different rooms, changed the 2 main filters. Just got my first annual air conditioning maintenance done... very thorough job... I was expecting someone coming to vacuum the unit and taking the hose to the outdoor unit and leave in 30 minutes... I did not expect someone coming out and disassemble the unit and actually doing a complete job... Tim the worker who came out showed me taking the unit apart and cleaning the furnace thermostat, removing and cleaning the blower unit (not an easy task), and vacuuming the intake vent... as well as taking apart the outdoor unit and thoroughly cleaning that as well... so glad I got the annual maintenance plan. Its been over 4 years and Alps is still king. Nate Salgado provided both AC inspection in July 2024 and heating inspection this month December. It actually makes sense versus one inspection for both in an off month. Sort of like dental cleanings every six months. Nate is amiable and respectful with the shoe booties! Joey answered all my questions involving thermostat options, types of mounting surfaces/areas, and everything else. Abatement was done by a 3rd party company they contract(I believe you are free to get this done with another company). Installation with lead installer Gustavo also was extremely smooth. His team was friendly, professional, and did very clean work around the home. They really do treat the job site like it's their own home. His team also answered any and all of my inquiries and were flexible to make small adjustments during the process as well. I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with ALPS regarding the duct installation service I had completed two years ago. While I recognize the company's strengths in other areas, I unfortunately cannot recommend ALPS for ductwork based on my experience. When I hired ALPS to replace my entire duct system, I was assured it would last for 30 years, which initially gave me peace of mind. For the first year, everything functioned well, and I had regular maintenance performed by another company. However, by the second year, I noticed a decline in airflow, particularly during the summer. Additionally, my family especially my children began experiencing increased allergy-like symptoms during seasons when this was not typical. Upon inspection by my maintenance provider, several concerning issues were discovered. Biological growth had formed on my furnace coils, hot spots were present, and the ducts had significant leakage, with black residue accumulating around the insulation. Additionally, the static pressure was three times higher than normal. I was also surprised to learn that ALPS did not pull permits for this work, something I was unaware of at the time due to my inexperience with the process. Further inspection revealed additional problems. Photos of the ductwork showed that some ducts were simply lying on the attic floor instead of being properly suspended. Additionally, instead of using solid duct elbows, the ducts were taped directly over the openings, and incorrect sizing was chosen for my home's configuration. Unfortunately, my warranty only covered parts, and if there was a labor warranty, it was likely very limited. Ultimately, I had to hire another company, one I have trusted for years to completely replace the ductwork. Everything installed by ALPS had to be removed and discarded due to contamination. While their pricing was higher than what ALPS charged, the difference in quality was undeniable. They installed correctly sized ducts and plenum, ensured proper suspension, used solid duct elbows, and sealed the connections with appropriate materials. They also cleaned the biological growth from my furnace, installed a UV light system to prevent future buildup, and pulled the necessary permits. Additionally, they provided a 10-year labor warranty alongside the standard 30yr warranty. They even noted that the previous ducts fell apart with minimal force, which was deeply concerning. I understand that no company is perfect, but I hope ALPS takes this as an opportunity to improve its duct installation processes, particularly in duct design. According to the Department of Energy, 90% of HVAC systems are installed incorrectly, and unfortunately, my experience reflects that statistic. Proper training and adherence to industry best practices are essential for ensuring long-term system performance and customer satisfaction. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by Alps AC & Heating. Typically I try my best to avoid writing about businesses because negative reviews can impact them. My family has been impacted by their negligence and lack of care. After paying for a service call to address an issue with our unit, the technician turned off our unit in the attic, leaving us with no heating or AC. This negligent and irresponsible behavior has caused significant inconvenience and frustration. He said he would call the company carrier to get the part and then two weeks later he said I would have to. Why did we pay them to come to our home and pay them their service fee? I requested the owner to call my wife about 5 different times. Whenever I call in the representative Vanessa will argue about the times I called or that we did not call rather then help resolve the issue. I blame her for choosing this company because she said we worked them for over 8 years and never had an issue. We learned a lot has changed with this company and they do not care about it their loyal customers! Our home is 3 years old and alps is the only company we have had in our home but they do not care to reach out or explain the situation. Their goal is to gain more profits and sell their membership! I have lost all trust in this company and would strongly advise others to steer clear of Alps AC & Heating. It has been a month since then, and their lack of communication shows a disregard for their customers. ALPS did a fine job of installing my new Lennox HVAC and Gas Furnace! COLLIN (service advisor) was very knowledgeable about what system I needed for my house and I got a fair price with no sales pressure. I got several quotes and they were in the same ball park, but went with ALPS due to their solid reputation and years of experience. If COSTCO uses ALPS, then I can only assume they do installations correctly, which is most important. So far so good - I am getting even cooling and heating. One small bedroom is not cooling as well, but I closed off the other side of the vent to this room to see if this helps. GUS and his crew of 2 other guys (I forgot their names) were excellent when installing the HVAC and Gas Furnace! They were all very nice and they answered any questions I had. They were neat and cleaned up after the install. Very pleased! ALPS also pulled the permit for the installation. I would like to clarify that we have never spoken with you, we worked with Alfredo when we had him first come to service our unit. We paid and he left us in the dark and no one in the office followed up with us with our attempts to reach the owner directly. After about two weeks Alfredo text us to contact carrier directly without us really even know where to turn to or have an idea of the problem. I have been a loyal customer for many years. Years before you were even the manager. I recommend in the future instead of trying to shut down a review address it professionally and properly. Do not make false accusations that we would not pay Alfredo. Since you were never involved you would not know. You would not know my agreement with Allen the owner was to have the safety switch replaced for a reasonable price and to have a description of the issue. He failed to share that with Alfedo. The company sent the same technician who was confused and called Beatrice saying they won't pay so should I start the job. That's a great way to treat a loyal customer. We have had multiple homes of ours over the years in the city of irvine. I have even reffered family and friends. I am truly appalled of this experience we have had to deal with for the last few months. Before responding to reviews, I would suggest ensuring that you have the correct information to avoid any misunderstandings in the future. It is important to address customer feedback professionally and accurately. To correct your response we did pay. We paid about 400 in total to have the safety switch replaced.
