The food was so good during this visit. I ordered the grilled pork chop with papaya salad and sticky rice; the salad was sweet and savory and the pork was cooked perfectly. The thai tea was also really good and not watered down at all. The location has tons of seating and has a very mellow vibe inside. Our servers were also very sweet and attentive. Their space is quite decent and welcoming for larger parties as well. Thank goodness we were there for their lunch specials which helped with limiting our lunch options! They do have quite a few options for on their lunch specials menu - stir fried, curries, rice, and noodle dishes. I went with the Green Curry with Fried Tofu for $11.95. It was really flavorful and I was pretty full after finishing everything. I really enjoyed the dressing on their house salad and found it very bright. The Little Gal had the Pineapple Curry with Fried Tofu for $11.95. It was a bit spicy and tasted really good as leftovers a few days later. I was a bit surprised with the heat as the waiter did initially say he was indicating mild on all the dishes. The Little Guy had the Yellow Curry with Beef for $12.95. I can only assume it was good because he ate the whole thing and only had the eggroll left over. All of their lunch specials come with an egg roll, fried wonton skin, egg drop soup and house salad. Great happy hour prices and a full bar too, which is not common for a Thai restaurant. The happy hour appetizers were great too. Good prices! It was girl's night out and we all had different dishes and we all loved them. I had the Rama dishes, with shrimp. Broccoli, cabbage, carrots, with peanut sauce on top. Found Lucki Thai since it is near me and the noodle soups caught my eye as I was craving some. Haven't really seen duck noodle soups in Thai places in Portland but saw my favorite duck noodle soup and decided to give it a try. When it arrived, the smell was awesome, I could not wait to dive in. The fragrant cilantro, savory duck, all smelled awesome. There was plenty of duck meat, but the duck was a bit overcooked and dry. The noodle soup was savory, and super flavorful. Portion was quite big, I could not finish but maybe because I had 2 cake slices 2 hours prior. Overall, would definitely come back! Linch date to fix a thai craving the head here. Flavors are on point and authentic with a wide variety of menu items. The soft shell crab is a must and comes in both appetizer and entree size. We then had a beef green curry level 8 which was hotter than most thai dishes. The curry was good and spicy but a bit hot for an 8 still doable. We were able to walk right in and be seated around 6:30 on a Friday which is clutch after a long day of work! The menu has tons of options and we quickly selected some of our "go-to" options. Our food came out super fast and everything tasted great! We started with the chicken satay, which came prepared with the chicken already covered in the peanut sauce, which I hadn't seen before I enjoyed! We also ordered spicy garlic edamame, I asked for a 4 out of 10 spice, it wasn't too spicy at all but the seasoning was delicious. My wife ordered the crab fried rice, which came with a generous portion situated on top of the dish. She liked being able to see the portioning of crab and had enough left to box up. I had the King Pao chicken which came with white rice. The seasoning was also very good and not too spicy for a 4 out of 10. My only critique would be to further slice the white onion so it wasn't such a mouthful. My husband and I decided to come here as his parents were in town. We figured we'd bring them to a restaurant that they were familiar with (they're Cambodian). I didn't take photos of what my in-laws ordered but they had the beef larb (which they shared and it was good, different (as they normally choose pork)), shrimp tom yum, chicken satay (which I personally found too flavorful but my husband and in-laws loved it), and egg rolls. They enjoyed their food choices. My husband got the basil duck and I got the shrimp tom kha (I ordered mild flavor and it was still way too spicy for me, I probably should have opted for no spice). We also ordered a good number of sticky rice. For dessert we got fried banana along with fried banana with ice cream as my husband loves fried banana. The honey added to the dish really compliments it well. Although my husband and I were not entirely fans of the fried banana because it had coconut included, my mother-in-law loved it. We still ate it all, it was still good. Service was good. The servers were nice and friendly. The ambiance felt good, it brought comfort to my in-laws as it felt homey. I don't know why I haven't written a review sooner.. but after today, I just had to. My boyfriend and I have been ordering from Lucki Thai for years now, we love it, never had any issues whatsoever. Food quality is always great and consistent. When I called today to place an order for pick up, I didn't get the name of the gentleman who answered the phone and took my order, but he was absolutely wonderful. Even just over the phone, you could feel his happy positive energy. After I hung up I even said to my boyfriend.. "that man was so nice!" -- cut to, I go to pick up my food.. same gentleman greets me upon entry (I recognized his voice), and he just radiates positive energy, tbh I don't think anyone could be upset around him in general. The interaction was extremely pleasant, and swift. He even gave me two cups of ice when I asked for just one because I told him "I like ice" haha. After all these years of dining here, it was the interactions with this amazing gentleman that prompted me to write a review. I tried this restaurant for the first time and it by far exceeded my expectations. I ordered my go to, Beef Jerky and Veggie Pad Woo Sen spice level 5. First the portions for the Jerky was generous. Unfortunately I forgot exactly how many bc as soon as I opened the container, I just couldn't stop eating them, but I did leave at least five or six over for the following day. The Veggie Pad Woo Sen was DELICIOUS ,full of vegetables, and eggs. I honestly feel if I went above the 5 spice level I would've missed out on the actual flavors of the dish. NOYE: I chose Spice Level 5 bc this was a new place and their level went to up 10, for I thought 5 would be the perfect start in learning their heat scale if this place end up staying on my go to list. Well, their Spice Level 5 is actually Pretty Spicy, bc at other places I've gone as high as an 8 and the flavors of the ingredients are able to shine through the heat. I had a came In a few weeks ago right before closing and ordered my favorite prime rib fried rice and an order of their orange chicken. I got home to no orange chicken and not so good tasting fried rice. I called the restaurant immediately and shared my experience with Tony the manager in charge over the phone and he told me to come in the next day and he would take care of me, I got really busy with work and didn't have time to come in until almost 2 weeks later. Tony kept a note on the side with my complaint and took care of me and even gave me a complimentary Thai tea. This is the reason why I will always come back, they have great service and always put the client first. Thought it was a good opportunity to try somewhere new and super glad we chose LucKi! My husband said his pineapple fried rice was the perfect level 8 spice. Don't underestimate this small-sized restaurant. It may look small from the outside but the interior is spacious. Their entrees are packed with flavor. Literally. I live close by so I usually order take out. They're always friendly over the phone and our orders are always correct. Quoted time is accurate too. My usual is always the chicken pad kee mao. My favorite part was the garlic and basil...flavoring was packed to the punch! I think I personally have a good tolerance for spice but they don't mess around here. A spicy level 4 especially for the pad kee mao was no joke! Spicyyyyy but it's a hurt so good kinda spice feeling. So word of caution, go easy on the spice if you're unsure. Also probably depends on heavy-handed the cooks are for that day. Other items on rotation would be chicken pad thai, rice plates like the pineapple fried rice, or tom ka soup. Hands down, this is my favorite Thai restaurant. The food options are abundant and the prices are reasonable. For appetizers, my favorites are the coconut shrimp, beef jerky, and pot stickers. Masaman curry used to be my favorite. I love the curry with the potatoes, which both components of the dish seems to pair nicely together. All of the curries, (except jungle curry), have dairy in them. Apparently, 1/2 and 1/2 and coconut milk are used together to create the curries. I did switch to the jungle curry, which is a delicious creation as well. Chicken Pad Thai, pork larb, papaya salad, cucumber salad, tamarind shrimp, and chicken pineapple fried rice are a few of my other favorite dishes. If I ever get sick, I always pick up some shrimp Tom Kha soup. The lemongrass and spicy level three really seems to help! The service is always amazing, whether it's take out or dining in. Bad Night-Bad Experience. The food was not very good and it did not come out of the kitchen hot. Our Sui Mi was steamed but only slight warm. The Crispy Duck was small pieces of heavily battered mystery meat. No bones which made me very suspicious. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was served with a light tasteless sauce but no salt and pepper. The vegetable dish w/chicken looked like they cleaned out the bottom of the refrigerator--a hodge-podge of roughly cut semi fresh vegetables and dry tasteless chicken. I have eaten before and would have not come back if I was served a meal like this. This total waste cost $90.65. The worst part was how many Tums I had to take that night as my stomach was very upset. I won't be coming back. Save your money and take this review to heart. read more

We have been coming to Lucky Thai Bistro for years. This was our go to during the COVID. Like everything it seems the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. BUT they are still a solid choice for Thai food in the Southwest. The flavors are always on point. The spice levels are very consistent. The ambiance and service leave something to be desired. Not bad but nothing to write home about either. Just good solid food. The beef larb was very chewy this last visit. As if they used ground brisket or are some tendon. The panang curry with chicken was perfectly seasoned if skimpy on the chicken. The rice was... Crunchy. Maybe the last of the pot? The pad woon sen was perfectly cooked but seemed overrun with onions. With so many other Thai restaurants in the area, this won't be the only place we frequent anymore.
