Finally tried Jaws Topokki in Vegas and it actually lived up to the hype. The rice cakes had the perfect chewy texture and the sauce had a solid kick without being crazy spicy. Got the fried items too and they were fresh and crispy, not greasy like some spots (Dont sleep on the chicken strips). Portions were bigger than I expected and the whole place had a fun late-night vibe. Super friendly staff and mos def one of the better Korean street food spots I've had outside of LA. We ordered to go but the place was clean and did not smell like fried food at all. They had a decent sized menu so we went with tuna and bulgolgi gimbap, as well as tebokki and cheese sticks. Overall it was really good and not bad at all. The flavor of the topokki is more on the sweeter side but not bad at all. I enjoyed the seaweed roll, and dumpling too. The fried chicken is really a tender - I didn't care too much for it. They played hip hop music which I enjoyed lol. Honestly really enjoyed the song choices. But yeah overall cashier was nice. Jaws Topokki was so good that I ended up going twice in the same week. The jajang flavor was really tasty with a sweet and spicy balance, but definitely spicier than I'm used to. If you're sensitive to spice, just be aware of that. The rose flavor, on the other hand, was perfect and not spicy at all. My favorite thing on the menu was the deep fried seaweed rolls. Those were so good and I'd order them again every time. They're also very generous with portions. You get a lot of tteokbokki, and if you order ramen with it there's plenty of that too. The girl who takes orders is also really nice and sweet. She seems to really care about her job and is always cleaning up tables as soon as customers leave. Came on a Monday night and it was pretty empty, but I noticed a steady stream of pickup and delivery orders while I waited -- always a good sign. There's plenty of seating and the space was clean and comfortable. The young lady at the counter was so sweet and patiently answered all my questions. I ended up getting a lunch box and a half order of their topokki. Everything was delicious, and I still think about that topokki. It came with a generous amount of fish cake and rice cake, and the mild spice level was perfect for me -- flavorful with just the right kick. The shrimp kimbap was sooo good, especially dipped in the topokki sauce. Such a good combo. The wait wasn't long at all either. Of course, we ordered our favorite Rose Topokki and loved that this location lets you add ramen. We added ramen and cheese, which made the dish even better. Great spot to grab a quick lunch special. The inside is cute with a couple tables, K-pop music is playing in the background. I've ordered online and in person and service was impeccable each time. The food is really good, first time I had the beef bulgogi and fried shrimp gimbap which was like a surf and turf. This lunch I tried the pork cutlet and tuna gimbap and it was tasty and fresh. We were a little overwhelmed with all the delicious options at first but the nice lady at the counter helped us and told us which items were very popular. Taylor was out cashier and also our server she was sweet, patient while waiting for me to decide what to eat and had an accommodating personality in her. Place have good amount of table and have a bar seating on the side facing the street. What we got: Gimbap lunch box which is customizable. My son picked spicy pork belly, cream cheese gimbap, side of salad, kimchi, korean sausage, fried sweet potato. And order of Jaws topikki soup (half serving) which i think is a good potion. It was a lot even if its just half serving. Tteokbokki is so soft and chewy, different rice cakes, spicy, sweet, and savory. Barun Gimbap was also a good serving size. Just a bad customer experience. Writing this on vacation, hundreds of miles away from Vegas lol Called in a pick up order on a Tuesday 7/15 and when my husband picked it up, he asked the lady up front if he's good to go and they said yes & he left with our order. 30 Minutes later I'm getting phone calls from the place saying he forgot to pay/he wasn't charged. Can he come back, he's already so far away from the place. I then offered to pay over the phone and was told they can't do that. They don't know how???! Ok. How inconvenient! I said maybe we can stop by tomorrow on our way to the airport or on my husband's way home but It didn't work out. I got a voicemail the day after that they figured out a way to charge over the phone. lol We then played telephone for 3 days and had multiple calls and voicemails after. There's time difference now and at this point I am so annoyed and inconvenienced. I am traveling now but we could have had this dealt with and over with the day the incident happened. I hope this whole experience is a good lesson on how they handle their customer service. read more

Jaws Topokki opened up recently taking over the previous Hummus Bowls & Wraps location on Rainbow and Robindale. They're located in the same plaza as Pizza Hut, Sunright, and The Tailor Meat Shop. They actually have two locations in SoCal as well so this is their first Las Vegas location. Their menu consists of Korean street food items such as tteokbokki, kimbap, and soondae. My husband and I decided to give them a go last week after our gym session. We got to the establishment at around 2-3PM for a late lunch and were the only ones there. They have a kiosk that you can order from as well as a cashier so you have choices! My husband and I decide to share an order of their: Jaws Topokki Soup in mild - this had rice cakes, fish cake, fried fish cake, one japchae dumpling, and one quail egg. The tteokbokki sauce is pretty decent -- a mix of savory, sweet, and spice. The sauce was on the thinner side but not quite as thin as water. I think if they had reduced it down a tiny bit more, it would have been perfect. I wasn't a huge fan of the rice cakes they used cause they were a bit thinner than what I'm used to. I like thicker rice cakes. Jaws Korean Sausage - this had soondae, which is the Korean blood sausage, intestines, and liver (I think). They give you a small container of salt to dip it in. Dipping the soondae in salt brings out the umami flavor and it was good. To be fair, all soondae comes out of a package so they honestly can't mess it up. The intestine and liver was good as well. Gimbap Lunchbox with chicken galbi and barun gimbap - the lunchbox also comes with spicy fishcake, kimchi, salad, deep fried sweet potato and a deep fried seaweed roll. Their kimbap is really good! It was big with fresh veggies and good flavor. The chicken galbi marinade wasn't too sweet. There was a good amount of it too! I really enjoyed this! They have an area where you can grab your own utensils, napkins, and water. So it's pretty much a cafeteria type of establishment. Overall, we enjoyed the items that we ordered. Was super excited to find a new spot that's specializing in TOPOKKI, but this is not the traditional stuff. I generally am not a fan of watery sauce for my TOPOKKI. This was just way too thin, close to water. Tried the rose, but it lacked the creaminess and the sauce was not even remotely thick. Also was not a fan of the rice cake they used...it's thinner than the usual that I'm used to eating. Oden soup was good. Saw the Grand Opening for some Korean food and to pop in and see what it was all about. Jaws Topokki on South Rainbow blvd is new and offers a variety of topokki, sides, set menus, rice bowls, fried items, and gimbap. Today we tried the Jaws Topokki Soup spicy, note, this was very hot, tears fell lol. I would get a step down next visit, still flavorful and nice chew on the rice cakes. Deep fired assorted veggie fries, interesting at best as it was a cake of multiple veggies lumped together and deep fried 2/5, would be better if they were separate. Fried shrimp gimbap 5/5, Bulgogi gimbap 5/5 delicious but needs sauce, so we used the topokki and soy sauce. We also tried the Jaws fried chicken 6 pieces 4/5, good flavor but lacked sauce. Pricing is reasonable, and the staff were pleasant. Nice to go packaging. Note dipping sauces are all on the side, they forgot to mention that to us. For anyone in the SW valley mourning the loss of Banchan Village as a gimbap source, CHEER UP! There's another place in the SW valley, JAWS Topokki on Rainbow Blvd, just north of Robindale. They have 12 kinds of gimbap, ranging in price from $8.50 to $11. I didn't pay much attention to the place when they first opened because I didn't know what a Topokki was (and I try to avoid the congestion on Rainbow near the 215). Figured out that it is the Korean rice cake in a spicy sauce that was usually spelled tteokbokki or ddeokbokki (떡볶이). Anyway, their gimbap is as good as BV's was and more variety too. One difference from BV is that the gimbap is made to order, so no "grab 'n go" option. Also, no banchan, but I did see a banchan shop across the parking lot that I'll check out next time. One unique offering that isn't always available is a sikhye slushie. This is harder to describe, but if you like the taste of cinnamon in a cold and mildly sweet beverage, give it a try. I've had it twice and when available will order it in the future. read more

I seen this Resturant as I was scanning the area while I was getting an oil change at the dealership up the road. This is a great new spot in town! The restaurant is a decent size. It's perfect for small groups to dine in comfortably. There is 6 table tops and a long bar stand table to dine at. It was handicap friendly as well as kid friendly as they have a few high chairs. The customer service was solid; our server was friendly and informative, and helped explain a few items on the menu. I was not so sure of the Lorean Sausage as it is served with pork intestines. She explained the flavor to be almost bland (the sausage) and that they provide you with a salt mixture to boost the pork butt flavor that is mixed with rice in the casing. For the sausage alone it's $8.49 with the pork intestine it's $8.99 The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, especially if you're new to Korean street food. Portion sizes were generous, definitely enough to share between two or even three people, depending on what you order.
