When we arrived on Mother's day without a reservation, the manager and staff went out of their way to accommodate us even though they were completely booked. The team was extremely welcoming and professional as they found space for our party of 5. The special Mother's day menu was such a nice touch and it was difficult to pick from the delicious variety of entrees. First time tonight. Bar is comfortable and stylish. Staff is attentive. I'm a Bourbon drinker and they have a fair variety beyond the commercial standards. Now off to the dining room. Spacious is the first impression. As the evening rolled along more and more tables were filled yet it never seemed crowded or noisy (a pet peeve) plenty of staff with a nice cadence to their movements. Had a visit from the manager early enough in the evening to address any issues (which there were none) but it's a smart well executed approach. The Bourbon glazed grilled wings were the best I've ever had. The Paella was fresh and tasty. We shared a serving for 1 and couldn't finish and desert was fresh and delicious. Not just huge and average like lots of places. Despite all of the above, they were not the best part of the evening. Our server was Calli. I've been around a long time and have many many friends who are servers, bartenders etc. Calli was hands down the most pleasant, efficient and enjoyable server I've ever had the pleasure to share a dining experience with. And whoever comes in second is light years behind. I am in awe of how comfortable and welcomed she made us feel. What a natural. Thank you Calli, you are a joy. read more

In the days of prohibition drinks were hard to come by and in higher demand... the theme copies the hidden dark underground vibe with waitstaff and bartenders festooned in white shirts and suspenders. Small menu and by small I mean about a solid page of available foods, completely minimalist but somehow wide ranging. Any menu that can somehow make pastrami sliders, mussels two ways and sweet and sour cauliflower all fit together and all be delicious is doing something right. I had the grilled wings served bare with a buffalo style dipping sauce. Wings were juicy but crisp on the outside and the creamy, buttery sauce complimented it well. New England style mussels were Schwarzenegger sized, roided up monsters full of briney delicious broth. Crispy bread to sopp up the remainder was brought over. Solid beer and drink menu, 80s jams playing on the speaker and on the television. Games on the other channels, something for everybody. Waitstaff was attentive, jovial and made the experience all the better. There was a massive bar clearing brawl on the way out the door but it was saint Patrick's Day and tempers and blood alcohol content were high. read more

Yesterday my wife and I had a wonderful experience at Precinct 10. We were coming back from a Boston hospital at 2:45 pm and were starving. We had seen an ad for Precinct 10 so we thought we would give it a try. After driving into a somewhat vacant strip mall we had reservation. We didn't know if it was open (they need and OPEN flag outside). We were hungry so we gave it a chance. My wife's mind was BLOWN with the Gluten free pasta. She ordered the lunch Carbonara, and it was enough for her to eat three meal out of. I ordered the Haddock Reuben and french fries. The fries were so hot I could not stop eating them. They were hand cut. I did stop to eat my Haddock Reuben which was wonderful. The haddock was covered with corn flacks, what a great idea. We both ended up with to go bags there was so much food on our plates. I ate the rest of my sandwich that night it reheated easily in our convection oven. My wife ate some of her Carbonara that night and the rest today. Our adult beverage were a good pour. Our waitress Wendy was just great, attentive enough without being a bother. My wife and her got along great. We told Wendy we would be back some night for the dinner menu. read more

First red-flag, the location in an older plaza. 2nd red-flag, their outside decor... could use some more attention to detail. 3rd red-flag, as soon as you open the door, it feels like a late 70's early 80's interpretation of what a nice restaurant should look like, but not. Except at any moment I'm expecting to hear slot machines and or a DJ announce the next amateur stripper of the night. "Heeeeeere's Nikkkiiiiii"! Seriously though-our waitress was very nice and sweet. She did a good job. We had the Eggplant App, always very good. Same as Stockholders. My GF got the Beet Salad, and I got the roasted chicken with Risotto. Neither dish had much thought put into it. By comparison the Chicken Wings at Peel Pizza in Hingham are by FAR the best I've had and the chicken is amazing. This roasted chicken wasn't roasted properly, the juice, sauce, what ever that was served with it tasted as if it was pre packaged and the Risotto off the shelf. It actually tasted as if I went to dinner over a buddies house and his Mom who has no real concept of how foods should look or taste made the dinner. I even over heard a Server make a joke about not making any money there. Shocker. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I can only speak for the apps because that is all we ordered but ever dish that went by us we wanted to eat. We had the street corn, cauliflower, bbq chicken wings and the tater tots. Everything was delicious. I would recommend the cauliflower and tater tots. My son had the Mac and cheese and it was definitely boxed which surprised me because everything else that came out of that kitchen looked amazing. Hey I guess that's what my son gets for ordering off the kids menu. Lol. The decor was really cool. The half booth half chair setup was pretty neat. They did a great job in there making it so you do not miss not having windows. It looks like a great place to watch some games. I'm looking forward to coming back. Was nervous about going to a restaurant in a strip mall but figured it's the burbs, why not. The inside was big and spacious. The hostess seated us over past the bar in a section only to ourselves. Normally I don't care but it was pretty obvious since the place wasn't very full. It's a place in a full identity crisis. I think it wants to be upscale chic but not lose its sports bar clientele I actually did look at the website to see why there is a random tree in the middle. Cute story but that's as speakeasy as it gets. The cocktail menu is pretty unimpressive. It has tapas and then regular meals. Pricey for what it is. I got the shrimp carbonara. I never add salt to my food but I had to with this. My friend got steak tips and they came out a bit dry. Overall not impressed and definitely not worth the prices. My biggest recommendation is Figure out who you want to be. read more

The three star rating is solely for the food, which is outstanding. I had the best cheeseburger I have had in some time, and my friend raved about the swordfish. However, the service at the bar is extremely rude. Our bartender did not smile once. I had to ask her for the bill three times. She never asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert. I will never understand why female bartenders are rude to other women at the bar. News flash, ladies: we usually overtip! Not yesterday though. During the course of our meal, a person came up behind us suddenly, asked us how are meals were and called us "girls." Besides scaring the hell out of us he was very unprofessional. Yesterday's lunch reminded me why I have not been to Precinct 10 in a year. Disappointing and expensive, even without the customary lavish tip from me. I came in alone, asked for a Bud draft (the number one beer on earth) .......got a blank stare. 5 minutes later 2 guys came in sat down and both ordered Bud draft. MAN........there was a time when Kevin Hynes got it. Now........not so much. Dramatically overpriced, limited weak menu, crappy beer selection, bottled domestics = $5.08 each, no KENO. Went there for my birthday with a group of 8. Only reason not 5 star is that it took us a little over 2 hours to get a table. Take that out of the equation and it was a great night! This place tries to hard at something it can not provide. My Fiance and Myself came in this evening to have dinner. I was told by a co-worker of mine to try it. Now I will say this right now: This review DOES NOT reflect the staff. They are the reason it gets a 2 and not a 1. Very tentative, very fast and accurate I gave a 20% tip regardless of my opinion. Now for my thoughts. The ambiance feels like a Vampire Decorated the place. Seriously no natural sun light gets in the place. Its dark and dreary with a very Victorian style to the furnishings and Decor. The only part of the establishment that has some light is near the aquarium by the front door. There was also a tree inside which seemed very out of place to me, especially the fact there was no sun light. The menu was incredibly small with barely a page of options. The food was terrible. My Fiance had a Fried chicken Dish and I had baked Mac and Cheese. So much was wrong with the chicken. It looked more like an Appetizer plate than an Entree. The fried chicken was in small wing form instead of the more traditional breast, and served with sliced Pickles. The chicken was very dry and flavorless and the breading on the chicken was oily and burned. There was an offer for a sauce, for a price, perhaps that would have actually given SOME moisture and flavor to the dish. The beans and Cole Slaw it came with were strictly O.K. The Cole Slaw had good crunch but no Flavor, and the baked beans were lacking a good smokey flavor. My Mac and Cheese had no Cheese flavor in it. I just could not taste it. I gave some to my Fiance to see if it was just me, and she agreed that it had little to no cheese in the flavor and tasted like to much Flower was used to make the cheese. I had the add on of Brisket in my Mac and Cheese which was very tender and moist but like most of our meal not much flavor. It probably did at one point but the Mac and Cheese just drowned it out. This place seems to be trying to take Southern Style cooking and Smoking and make it fancy. Well success there but in the process the food tasted horrible. We were polite to our server and said the food was fine and had it boxed to go to again be polite. All in all we will not come back even if the food is improved. For a positive, our waitress was nice.....for the rest ..... Someone at the table got a spicy taste from the bread dip which was fine. We asked for water and it took 5-10 minutes in to get it. Two of us got the beef tips, aside of no seasoning, the consensus was it was....ok. My brother in law and I decided to get the smokehouse platter. This was after much boasting from our waitress of how it was your signature dish as well as the chef being from Louisiana. We figured how could we go wrong. When the food arrived first thing noticed was one got beans, another did not. The cole slaw was warm and had an almost rancid taste to it.As for the meats, both of us did enjoy the ribs. The pulled pork was ....ok/average. The brisket was disappointing. it was thick and did not seem cooked long enough. It did not pull apart nicely and was chewy. The smoked sausage - we each took one bite and left it. For $26 I would have expected much better for a dinner plate. each of us paid $160 plus tip. We found the experience very disappointing for the cost and left with an off feeling in our stomachs about the experience as well as the food I did not want to make a scene at the time however I feel I needed to email the manager. We traveled over 40 minutes to try this new restaurant. It took a second email to them before I got any reply...2 weeks. All I got was sorry about the experience and come try us again. For a restaurant that recently opened, I'm a bit disappointed that the food has somewhat gone downhill. The buttermilk chicken is not worth the price, go to Shaw's and pick up an $8 bag of fried chicken, tastes better. The smoked meats for some reason have been...too Smokey. It's like they added liquid smoke and then smoked it! I can't explain it, but this has happened three times after the first time I went here (during its opening weekend). I keep wanting to give some benefit of doubt, but it always disappoints. The poutine here is excellent and so are the mixed drinks. Like most, I overanalyze menu's searching for the optimum combination of price/portion/taste ratio. I usually narrow the entree down to two items then flip a coin with the intention of trying the loser on the next visit if the establishment is up to par. Appetizers are my Lex Luthor. From the time I order my drink I know the clocks ticking. When my server returns the gigs up. I have to make a decision. Last night my daughter and I chose the meat and cheese plate at Precinct 10. It's off Washington St in Weymouth. It's located where the Hilltop used to be . It was a loud Friday night crowd that had me waiting a half hour to sit. No bigee. They have a lounge area with seats and tables where you can order drinks and small plates though none were small while waiting for your electronic reminder to vibrate. Every other television had 80's rock videos on just in case you're not into sports.The plate came with 3 cured meats, prosciutto di Parma , thick slices of salami and a peppered hot capicolla. They hid some undesirable cuts and fall off pieces of prosciutto underneath a couple of perfectly sliced pieces to my chagrin. The cheeses were a mild provolone , a mustard seed impregnated cheddar and surprisingly a crazy amount of blue cheese. It was out of place and didn't belong. The edible garnish was a medley of marinated artichoke hearts sun-dried tomatoes and olives. The burrata and tomato and the tater tot poutine looked amazing...Next time. For the entree I ordered the the smokehouse platter and my daughter ordered the double cut pork chop. With mine I was able to choose up to 4 put of the six offerings. I chose brisket pastrami chicken and pulled pork. I left the ribs and sausage for another time. They Chinced out on the sides with canned beans and regular old Cole slaw but put there effort into what mattered .... The meat. Moist and juicy, every morsel of every bite. I'm a pastrami afficianado and was impressed with a style I've never had before. Obviously home made and awesome. My daughter's only complaint was that there wasn't enough stuffing and the fact that there wasn't any hint of apples in the Apple cranberry stuffing. Overall an enjoyable dinner and when I do return I'll definitely be getting the tails to my coin flip , wakkas buttermilk marinated southern fried chicken. read more

I like this restaurant / bar and an honest review would be 3.5 stars. I will round up because I really like how the place is laid out and the décor. The bar area is very open and fun with table tops and a small area to dance on the weekends. It is very close to where I live and it is easy to get home after a drink or two. The place is not perfect by a long shot, but the atmosphere helps out a lot inside. The food is hit or miss. I would say it is closer to very good than good, but there is some work to be done. I ordered the poutine here three times so far and I love poutine... but the sauce they put on it takes all the crunch out of the tots. The Canadian style poutine comes with a thicker gravy and cheese curds that fried potatoes hold up to better. I wish they served that sauce on the side because the meat on top of it is delicious. They also don't use cheese curds, they use a cheese sauce almost like an Alfredo. It has really good flavor, but combined with the brown sauce it makes the tots in the middle mush. The fried oysters were my favorite thing I had from here so far. The oysters were huge, the apple fennel slaw was outstanding... very well balanced dish and very satisfying. I got the fried calamari last night and myself and my partner were really disappointed as it was surprisingly bland. It was actually better as leftovers when I heated it in the toaster and the flavors could mix with the calamari from the toppings in the doggie bag. The pork sliders are excellent and are highly recommended. It is the same pork on the poutine, so they have that part nailed down in the bomb category. The salads were really not great. We ordered the spaghetti squash salad and it was average... nothing stood out and nothing was terrible. Another time we ordered the burrata... the tomatoes did not seem overly fresh and it was again ok, but I would not order it again. There at a limited number of vegetarian options so this is why my partner orders salads there.. I love the bees knees martini there. Gin, honey and lemon served in a cocktail shaker. The first time I went there we had more than enough to fill the martini and enough liquid to fill the glass and keep the cocktail cold as it was drank. The subsequent two times I went there however, the martini shaker was half as full and only filled up my martini glass 50-75% without any extra in the shaker to fill my martini. The large part of the martini that holds the most liquid is the top, so if it is 75% full it is really 50% less full of liquid. It is given a boston price, so they should give a consistent and healthy pour every time, but it is by far not consistent.... its a shame because the taste is dead on delicious. I would rather just have a martini poured for me to the top instead of having my shaker delivered to keep my drink cold if my drink is poured short. I can't speak highly of the service there for consistency either. The first time I went there the server was great. The next two times not so much. The second time, I was literally sitting at my table for fifteen minutes before anyone came over to even ask if we wanted anything. It took so long that I was at the bar by the time somebody came by. It wasn't even busy, it was Wednesday this week when I just wanted a drink. After that point however, the service was much better and personable. The last time I went there last night, the server was just not good. I had to ask where my poutine was three times, when it came out to us it was stone cold. I had to continually flag her down for anything and she gave an attitude. My drinks were always poured short (not really her fault as that is the bartender) but the part that was her fault is that I was not given a shaker for my third drink to keep the contents cold through my martini even though it was still poured 75% full. I'm bordering on lowering stars and revising my review, but I really like the taste of the cocktail an some of the food is excellent as is the atmosphere so I will keep it at four stars for now. I hope I just caught a server on a bad night, but I think I will just sit at the bar next time as I can ask directly to have my martini poured correctly next time. It should be filled up to the top and not 50-75% full. Anyplace else like Passport that serves a martini, pours it up to the brim as it should be for the extra cost. Fix this problem and you will have a regular customer for the life of the restaurant... if the martini is under poured next time I will just head to Passport, Zef Cicchetti or Townshend for the cost. read more

My husband and I were at Precinct 10 last night and sat at the bar for dinner. We had the Fried Oysters and Truffalo Shrimp for apps and the Filet Medallions with Shrimp for dinner. Everything was amazing! This is only the second time we have been there but even the first time, our food was delicious. The only downside last night was the service at the bar. It was busy but it became quite obvious that the bartenders have not been trained properly on how to be good service people. It was so difficult to get even a menu and once we got one, it was hard to get one of them back to take our order. In my experience, a good/great bartender is always looking at their customers to see if they need anything. Last night, the opposite was true. I felt like I needed a red flag to get their attention. An empty glass is usually a good clue you may need another drink but that didn't seem to work. When you stop looking at the menu and put it down, that's usually a sign that you're ready to order something but that didn't work either. All of the bartenders were nice enough..... once you got their attention. The food runners were better trained than the bartenders were, asking us if we needed anything, etc. In my opinion, this is a "lack of training" issue and the person responsible for that should probably take a closer look at how good bartenders work their bar!! read more

For apps grilled oysters and calamari which were good. My husbands steak was overdone but they took care of the issue. Really cool place but the bar service is terrible. My friends and I waited 20 minutes every time we went to get a drink and the place wasn't even crowded. Ordered food , cauliflower was great, onion soup was luke warm, and was never asked how it was or if we needed anything else. Place was practically empty but Latin music was way loud. We've been here twice, and both times the food was great and the service has been excellent.

To say that Precinct 10 has exceeded my expectations is an understatement. I knew from the moment I walked in the door in March to plan my husband's surprise party I was in great hands, but honestly, how well the party was run and the attention to detail you gave us throughout the planning stages, during the event, and how you have addressed the concerns I had afterwards; I truly could not speak more highly of both of you and your entire establishment!
