I wanted to give a 5 star review, I really did. I wanted to be understanding and appreciative that it was a small business and likely family operated. Unfortunately, I'm not very pleased with how they groomed my cat. The shaving on his fur is patchy and not very even. That's okay, I guess, it'll grow back very quickly. But, for the price I was charged, I would have expected much better. I also asked if my receipt would be itemized (so I could go over how much each service for my cat costed for future reference when coming back), but the receipt only stated "cat grooming" which I really didn't like. I could not check how much each individual service costed, which made me very skeptical of their price point. I suggest y'all fix this and itemize y'all's future receipts. I am also aware that I could call and ask about these things, but after how I was treated I just didn't want to feel like I was bothering them any further--which isn't something I should feel as a paying customer. The reason I decided to leave a negative review was because of the customer service I experienced. They weren't very warm or talkative when I tried to engage in conversation and talk about my pet and how he did. They just seemed disinterested which was very off-putting. When they asked about setting up a future appointment I agreed that I would like that. However, when we were setting it all up they seemed like they couldn't care less that I would be back. Rubbed me the wrong way. I would like to suggest that y'all take better care of your customers in the future when you are talking/engaging with them. You want them to come back, so make them feel like that. They did, however, do a good job of bathing him and got the motor oil that had gotten into his fur completely out of it. I'm giving another star for that. If you don't care about customer service like I do and are purely there to get your animal clean, go ahead and come here. I've been bringing my dog here for 3 years, and the service has progressively gotten worse. They ask for a 4-hour window to groom your pet, and in the last year, the time has taken longer and longer. Today, I called after almost 6 hours, and they told me my dog would be another hr or I could come pick him up and now but he wouldn't have a haircut. Which is crazy to me because that's the main reason we bring him to a groomer, to be groomed. I explained that I don't live in the area, so it's important that I pick him up before traffic gets bad. That's why I bring him early in the day. After reluctantly deciding to wait another hr, when we get there to pick him up, we are told that he was matted and will be charged extra. That was absolutely ridiculous since we brushed and combed him before we dropped him off. When I called, this wasn't mentioned at all. It was obvious retaliation on their part because I expressed my disappointment in the delay when I called. Given this has been the new normal for a little over a year now, and the fact that ithe delay ihas gotten longer each time, I felt obligated to say something so I can understand why this is an ongoing issue. We always tipped even when the service was bad, like the time they shaved my dog when they were only supposed to be cutting half of an inch off. I've never been a consistent long-time customer of a business and been treated this way. If the goal was to run off customers, then bravo! You've succeeded! read more

I have an Australian Shepard who at last groom was not groomed/cut to fit this breed...I was shocked to see they had literally shaved him head to tail. When I called Precious Pets to ask some general questions, I was re-assured they would only do exactly what I request. A sanitary & pads groom, ears, teeth, nails; no haircut. When I picked him up he was happy, his fur looked soft & shiny & he smelled fresh & clean. I was so thankful! I have definitely found the grooming spot for my Mr. KeKe. If I could give 0 stars I would. My family has been coming to this groomer for a couple years now. Have never had an issue previously other than a time where we had to board all of our dogs for a couple of days. We asked the receptionist to not allow one of our dogs to be around other dogs due to the dog having anxiety. When we picked up the dogs they stated that the dog we requested to have separated, did fine with the other dogs... which is great. But we specifically requested that the dog remain separated and they didn't listen to our request and did it anyways. It's just not professional. Anyways, my stepmom requested an appointment to get her shih tzu groomed the other day. They stated it would take around four hours for the dog to get groomed. The dog ended up being there for almost 8 hours. I understand people get busy and sometimes dogs aren't easy to work with. Wasn't that big of a deal it was just odd. We get the dog and something wasn't right. The dog was very lethargic throwing up, shaking, and had bloody stool. We ended up taking our dog to the emergency hospital twice. The dog is fine now. And we really didn't get a definitive answer as to what was wrong with the dog. My step mom goes to call precious pets, and she was met with excuses and unmet expectations from the receptionist and owner. No empathy whatsoever. The receptionist stated that the owner would call her back. And never did. This place isn't professional and I would not recommend you taking your pets here. read more

Maxx, our four year old cocker spaniel-beagle mix was groomed today at Precious Pets and we couldn't be happier. He looks fantastic! His nails are perfectly trimmed, his coat is shiny, his ears are cute, the matted hair around his mouth is gone, and he had an awesome camo bandanna on when I picked him up. They offered a teeth cleaning service and we were a bit skeptical at first, but his teeth are bright white. We are happy to have found Precious Pets and are excited that it exceeded our expectations. read more

Picked up 7lb potty trained pup from a 3 night stay and she was covered in urine. The worker carried her out with her arms stretched out so the urine didn't get on her clothes. She asked if we wanted her to give the pup a "quick" bath??? Uh, hel@ NO. No one in the place will EVER care for her again!!! It appears she had to lay in her own urine for 3 days! Let me first start by saying when I brought my 26 lbs Golden Doodle in today I was not asked for her vaccinations records. I drop her off at 10:30 was told she would be ready at 2pm NOT try just picking her up at 5pm. Then to be told my price was $92.01 WTH when I had my 20 lbs Shitz Zu I paid $55 max. We took our golden doodle Tuck to Precious Pets for a much needed grooming after being away at training for 6 weeks (he was in desperate need of some TLC). Precious pets worked us in because we had to get him done before we left on a trip. Not only were they so helpful, his hair cut was perfect. I will no longer get be going to this place. For the last few months they have managed to screw up my account with my sons account. They merged my sons dog onto my account and was asked to fix this. Then they said it was fixed, in reality they then merged my dog into my sons account. The phone numbers were mixed up. They could not get this figured out. Then I called June 16 to make an appointment. They could not get her in til July 16th. That's fine. Made the appointment. My son calls June 22 to make his dog an appointment. Next available day is July 26th. Fine. Made the appointment. Come to find out today that my appointment was canceled and moved to my sons appointment and both dogs are scheduled for July 26th. When did I ever call and cancel my appointment. NEVER. Yeah I was mad. After speaking to Amy the owner. She made it very clear that she didn't care abt my situation. Her comment was "she has been at a family funeral today and has zero tolerance for this situation". Would not let me speak. Blamed my mom and my son for the mix up confusion. Blamed everyone but her staff. I stated that I would not be returning as a customer anymore. She said GOOD I'll cancel ur appointment. I'm sorry for ur family death. Prayers go out to you your family. At the end of the day., another loss customer. That makes 2 customers gone. In response to the owners comment. She never fired me as a customer. In fact she said I will keep your July 16th appointment. When she said she has zero tolerance for this situation I then said I would not be back. So I fired your business from my service. And again....you over spoke me would not let me get 2 words in. I have been very patient with you staff who kept screwing up. How did the dogs get the same day appointment, your staff screwed up. I never made a July 26th appointment. Mine was set for the 16th. Y'all changed my appointment with out telling me and messed up again. My daughter in law had requested several times to separate the dogs from my number or account. They screwed that up as well. As a business owner and professionally you should have not even called when your emotions were on your shoulder. Talk about you being rude right off the bat and you say I need communication skills. Your the owner, I'm the customer, what happened to the customer is always right phrase. I said I was mad. Who wouldn't be mad at this point. Yes I will take my dog somewhere else where I know for a fact she will be better taken care of and appreciate my business. Let's see if my daughter n law shows up for her appointment too. My dog's appointment was at 2 PM. When I came at 6 PM (the time they close per their website), She still had not been seen. She ended up not being ready until 9:15 PM. 7 hours is way too long for a dog to be in an unfamiliar setting. The website says it may take up to 4 hours, so I was prepared for that not almost double the estimated time. I also did not like that all the dogs were running around freely. We asked if the dogs belonged to the groomers and we were told no. I am not a fan of random dogs being out of their cage around my dog, especially since she is scared of big dogs. The stars that I gave are for the haircut and bath. The haircut was good and she smelled great. But it was not worth what I had to deal. read more

I take my dog to get his haircut here regularly. He always looks good and there's no problem there. I had to leave the state for a few days and I've never left my dog anywhere, I googled a few places and realized they do boarding here, which I thought would be great since he already comes here for haircuts. I understand dogs may become stressed and basically traumatized when they are suddenly left somewhere for a few nights so I'm trying not to focus so much on that, even though that was a big factor. I'm more focused on the fact that he was horribly dirty, like yellow piss colored fur on all his paws, he smelled very bad and when he shook a bunch of dust continued to come off of him. At the time of pickup I was just rushing and didn't really pay attention to any of this until we got into my house. I'm mad I even left a tip. I would not recommend this place for anything more than a quick haircut. read more

We switched to this groomer a few months ago. They do a fabulous job. We have a border collie and an Australian Shepard. They're feet are always nicely trimmed and they put a lot of attention to the detail of grooming our dogs. They send texts to remind you of upcoming appointments, which is very helpful. I passed this groomer on the way home from adopting my Bella, so I've taken her here about 3 times. She has been anxious when we arrive (and she is always eager to see people and places), so that made me wonder about what was happening. I made the appointment online (in response to an email), and received a confirmation via text. When I dropped her for her appointment, the front desk didn't seem to know who I was, and also asked for my phone number (Remember that text I received??) When I arrived for the pickup, there was no one at the desk. Even with the door alarm, no one was present quickly. Again, it took a lot of effort to put the dog and human together. I asked about her nails - making sure they weren't sharp. The lady said she would check. It took longer than expected to bring Bella out from the back, and the lady didn't have me check, nor did she mention that she checked. Yes, her nails are still sharp and not filed well (jagged edges). I know if I post a review here, I will get a discount, but I won't need it. read more

I have been using them for a long time...... but yesterday they lost my business FOREVER! The lady working the desk was rude, and argumentative. Charged me 10 dollars extra after telling me I was an hour and a half late........ they closed at 6. The first notification I got about the dog being done was when they called me at 7:04 pm. She said we called to let you know...... after I pressed her that I hadn't been called she said.... well we sent you a text at 2 something. I said that in the past I was always called to let me know he was done, and didn't know why they waited to call me after the "closed" for over an hour. I didn't want to argue anymore, my head wanted to explode after the body language, the attitude and the poor customer service...... I just paid the fee asked for my dog so I could leave. There are several groomers in the Forney area....... this is the LAST dime I will spend at this business! read more

This place is terrible at grooming! I picked my dog up today from them when the lady there asked if we took our dog to the vet ever because she said there was fluid in her lungs. We informed her our dog had just been to the vet in the recent week and was fine. We noticed upon picking her up she wouldn't open her eyes. At that point I was concerned wondering why and took her to the vet. It turns out the lady that was so concerned about fluid being in the lungs had gotten shampoo all in her eyes causing ulcers on her retinas. Her lungs were fine as the doctor checked those out while we were there too. These people have no business grooming if this is how they treat the animals they are working with. I'm highly upset and will never be back nor recommend them. Also called and left a message for the owner to contact me as this was unacceptable, they never contacted me. read more

I would give zero stars - but that doesn't seem to be an option. I made an appointment to have my cat groomed - called a lion's cut. Short on the body and face and tail left natural. Well, my appointment was for 1:30. I called at 4:30 asking if I should come and pick her up. They said it would be 3 - 4 hours. Short staffed, blah blah. At 8:15 I finally just decided to go pick her up. Another customer was there angry that her dog hadn't received the right cut and it's eye was weeping. The owner wouldn't answer the door and called the police. I had been trying to call to let them know I was there (the door was locked) but the phone was busy. Apparently she was on the phone to the police since she said we were banging on the door (not). Anyway, she wasn't finished (hadn't bathed/brushed the loose hair) - but I just wanted to go home, not stand and listen to the other women and owner argue with the police. I was charged full price but was offerred the opportunity to come back. No way. There is no way I should have had to wait until 8:30 to pick up my cat when I had a 1:30 appt. An they really didn't do a very good job. I'll never go back. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!! If you care about your pet, DO NOT take them to Precious Pets in Forney. Incompetent staff. I called to have my pets nails clipped. I was told I don't need an appointment, just bring them in. I arrived at the location. I was told they would not be able to clip my dogs nails because they needed medical records for my pet? I said why did you not mention this when I called? The staff member said we should have told you. I said don't you think this is very important to inform your customers before you tell them to bring their pet in? The staff member said yes. She said you can come back again and bring the records or we can call for the records. I understand the policy. My issue is not informing the customer. Their is no excuse for this. When I was leaving the location I noticed huge pile of dog poop on the floor in the waiting room. I said I would never bring my pet here and will tell my friends and family members to stay away from this place. This place is NASTY! read more
