I love Precise Auto Repair! They've been doing maintenance on my family's vehicles for a few years and they are always fair and honest. After bad experiences with dealerships, I know I can always leave here feeling like they went above and beyond and that the work required is priced fairly! I come here mostly for oil changes and tire rotations, but on my last visit they were also able to find a puncture in my tire and patch it, as well as fix my break lights that were out. When my wife had some trouble with her car a few years ago, I shopped around. I took the car to a few places, asked what was wrong, and what needed to be fixed. The first two places I visited gave me a laundry list. Then I went to Tom. He reassured me that the issue with the car was minor and that I didn't need any of the things on the list. That was years ago. These guys have saved me thousands of dollars. I have taken all three of my cars to them for years. They always explain what's wrong, what I need/don't need to fix, and when it's time to sell. When a repair is needed, they save the parts and show me their work. Surprised I havent written a view for these guys sooner. I've been going to them since... 2011? When I first needed an oil change for my Camry? Here are some stories/services to give you an idea why these guys are great: 1) They are fair. I read somewhere once you need to find a good barber, doctor, and mechanic. Or something like that. At one point, I needed my tires replaced and I did my due diligence. I looked on tirerack.com and costco. The cost for shipping the tires and disposing of the old ones and the work, were the same price as if Precise ordered my tires, disposed of the old ones, and did the work. They ordered me 4 tires and I brought my car in the next day to replace them. They only charged me for 2 because I didnt need all 4 replaced and returned or kept the rest. I was about to order 4 so this really saved me money and I got more use out of those 2 tires I thought needed to go! So yeah price was fair and they were honest about the work I needed. 2) I know how to change my oil, but I dont want to do it. These guys always do it for me, every 5000ish miles. And they also check my tire pressure, windshield wiper fluid, and my engine at the same time. 3) They replaced my car battery for me. My car is now about 8 years old so I just got it replaced. They gave me some tips to make it last till the end though! 4) They are fast and available. If you come first thing in the morning it's best. One time though, I dropped my car off on a Sunday and was able to put my key in the key drop so they could service it the next day. Picked my car up the next day and was good to go. 5) Friendly and professional. I couldnt say better things about this place. I've recommended them to all my friends and coworkers in the area and they're all now customers too. These guys have one of those 'people love us on yelp' signs, but it's in such an obscure area, I can only read it as a humble move. Not sure if this review will mean anything since they already have so many good reviews, but hopefully if you're reading this, it's just another testament to how good this place is! read more

I was referred to Tom from a family friend and he has been helping me with my car greatly. Always clear cut and to the point never tries to upcharge me or tries to get me to buy things that are simply just not needed at that moment. He is honest. Tom was and has been extremely helpful. Called him for advice when the dealer was trying to up charge me, Tom answered my phone and provided me with advice. The time he gives is so appreciated. I had a check engine light and instead of just immediately doing the service and he directed me to try to see if I can get the service done at the dealer under warranty. He really tried to help me get my service done without payment which is not something most mechanics do. I trust him. Will be staying with Tom for all future car issues and maintenance. read more

I've been going here for years getting all of my cars done from Lexus's, Toyota's, a Suzuki SUV and a GMC Yukon XL. They've done everything from oil changes (multiple times) to brake jobs (2x) to timing belt changes (2x) for me and I've been totally pleased. Wouldn't ask for any information, had to force it on him to get anywhere before I finally just got frustrated and offered to call back another time (spoiler: I will not). Finally found a reliable and honest repair shop for all of my Toyota's and Murano. They know how to diagnose the problem in a very timely manner and fix the issue within 24 hours with very reasonable pricing. Our 2007 Nissan Murano had some kind of issue with power steering fluid that need to be filled every 2-3 months but there was no sign of leaks anywhere. We took it in and they diagnose the problem within the hour that the 'high pressure hose' was defective and replaced it the following day because we took our car in just before closing time. They showed up the old part the cost of service was reasonable. Just took our Murano in yesterday because of excessive humming noise coming from the left front and we thought it was from our worn out tires. We bought new set of tires that needed it badly and the noise was still there. We asked Son from Precise Auto if he can check it out. Within a half hour he had the car on the jack stand and found the left wheel bearing was bad. They gave us an estimate of around $430 to replace the bearing including labor. We picked it the next day and charged us $354 and the car drive very nice. They could have charged us $430 but told us that it was done quicker than expected and showed us the defective bearings. read more

Not only did they wait for us to get there right before close of business (knowing they would be closed for the weekend), but they also allowed my kids to observe and they patiently explained everything to the kids while plugging the tires. Tom and his team know what they are doing. Recently I had a problem and they could have easily just charged me double. They called, explained the issue, told me how they will test it and ultimately only charged me less. While in there, Tom noticed leaks and took pictures of them. Again, he could have just offered to fix it for me for a fee. Instead he researched my car, pointed out that this part was still under warranty and I should get the dealer to fix it for free. This has been my go to place for awhile for any car maintenance that I need to do. I'm generally a food reviewer, but Precise Auto Repair is an amazing place to get your car maintenanced. First of all you're always greeted with a friendly staff and they're really good of just advising you to do the services you need on your car. They won't over charge you for the services or make you get things done that you don't need. What I love is how quickly they finish. An oil change takes roughly 30min. Heck, I barely get a chance to play on my phone, and they're already done with the job. Getting brakes changed was really quick too. Drop your car in the morning and by lunchtime they've ordered the parts and got them changed. They also drop you off at your work place if it's nearby as well. Discovered this place on yelp and I am glad I went here. I always thought the dealership was the best place to get your car serviced. In my experience, dealerships have been extremely dishonest and unfair - they just assume that the customer knows nothing about their vehicle and are quite brazen about inflating severity of issues and pricing. I was quoted $90 for replacing a low beam headlight bulb when I had already replaced it myself for $11 including tax and it took me 5 minutes and no tools. Five stars to this shop for being straightforward, fair and respectful. Tom will tell you the full story about what's wrong and needs a fix right away and what can wait. You don't feel intimidated at any point for your lack of knowledge. They don't charge you for something that doesn't need replacement. It is almost statistically impossible to find a knowledgeable and honest auto mechanic...until now. Not only did Tom from Precise Auto treat us with respect, he made us feel as though our business mattered. As most of you know mechanics have a tendency to make you feel as though they are doing you a favor even though you are paying them for their services. Tom is not only a nice and decent man, but explains in detail what was done when you pick up the car, shows you the old parts and makes sure you are satisfied. Our 2007 Trailblazer was making an incredibly loud high pitched noise. We took it into Precise and Tom discovered our alternator was begin to fail as well as the water pump. He only charged us for one round of labor instead of 2, even though they were technically 2 different issues. On top of that, our total price for parts and labor was below the estimate he gave us. Based on great Yelp reviews, I arrived unannounded Monday afternoon with my 2007 Escape. Viet stopped what he was doing to help me. I told him about a noise which appears around 60mph, and also said that I needed an oil change. He took the car for a test drive down Central Expressway, with me in the passenger seat, and then dropped me off at work (at nVidia, walking distance from his shop). He called me 2 hours later. He had taken it for another test drive, and put it up on the lift to try to reproduce the problem. The noise is probably just tire noise from scalloped tires, which should go away once I buy new tires a year from now. They only charged me for the oil change. He has earned my business. read more

I found this gem on Yelp last night. When I called this morning, there were more than happy to service my car the same day. While their shop was a little hard to find it was worth the search. They only have a little sign that is visible from the road, so we missed it the first time around. However, once we got there the staff was nothing but professional and courteous. They had provided me with two estimates, and told me that once they looked at the car they would be able to tell me which estimate was correct. When they called I was surprised to hear that my front breaks did not need to be replaced yet, as I had been told by a prior mechanic, but they recommended that I replace the back breaks, which was a much cheaper service. This made me feel that Precise is very honest and will not recommend service that you do not need. I originally found them on yelp and since they were so close to my work and had such awesome reviews I decided to try them out. I've been coming to Tom and Viet for over a year now, maybe 2 years and till now they are the only auto repair shop I go to - engine and power steering repairs, oil changes, maintenance services, tires, anything you name it I've done them all through them. Tom and his crew are very friendly, professional, hardworking and most importantly HONEST people (very difficult to come by nowadays especially in this field of work). He doesn't try to upsell or give you that fluff that most other technicians out there try and do to you, especially to girls. There have been a few times when Tom would reassure me that I don't need to spend the money to replace parts because it isn't necessary and that my car would function fine without it. Tom relates more on a friend level which I also do appreciate because it makes me feel comfortable to go to him - again hard to find nowadays. Yesterday, I noticed the battery light came on. Today, as i was driving northbound on 680, all the warning lights on my dashboard came on. (Check engine, oil, water, emergency brake, seatbelt, 4x4, etc.). I loss power and the vehicle wouldn't accelerate. Pulled over onto the shoulder and called for a AAA Roadside tow. I kinda knew what happened as I had experienced this before on an old 1996 Chevy Suburban. As I waited for the tow, I called Precise Auto Repair. I spoke with Nate and told him my situation. I advised him that I'm just waiting for a tow and to expect me at the shop within the hour. At around 2 pm, I arrived with my vehicle on a flatbed. Met with Nate and told him what I thought was wrong. As I waited for my ride to pick me up from their shop, Nate returns to the waiting room and confirms my diagnose. Indeed it was my alternator that had went out. Nate gave me a price for the part and gave me a quote. I mentioned that since I was here, my vehicle was in need for an oil change. Nate said he would fulfill my request and call me later with final price. Nate called me around 5pm. Told me that my vehicle was done and was ready for pick up. I told him that I wasn't expecting my vehicle to be done within a day. I figured since it was now 15 minutes past 5 o'clock that I would have to come the next day, Nate said, just come within the hour. I made it to the shop around 5:45 pm. Nate showed me the old alternator and drive belt which he replaced. Nate said he was able to use the same bearings which he felt didn't need to be replaced just yet. Nate also told me that the water pump has a slight leak but not to worry about it. And when I should replace the waterpump is when he said he recommend replacing the bearings then. Nate recommended a brake job (front and rear) but reassured me that the brakes are probably a priority over the water pump. Overall, I am quite please with not only the service, but in the amount of time in repairing my vehicle. I thought I would have to burn another day off just to pick up my vehicle. I work up in SF and with other appointments thereafter I probably wouldnt been able to pick up my vehicle the next day if I wanted to. Kudos to Precise Auto Care. They were very accommodating, professional and informative about my vehicle. I would definitely recommend Precise Auto Care for all your vehicle repairs. Precise Auto Repair is a class act! Viet and Tom are consummate professionals --- experienced, knowledgeable, customer-centric and honest! Their shop is fully equipped, large, well-lit and very clean. I took my '98 Volvo S70 in for an oil change and it was both a pleasant and learning experience. Tom showed me how to accurately check my oil (as my car burns through the oil quicker than others) and when I mentioned that my car was also making a noise, Viet took it for a test drive with me. So happy with my experience and service at Precise Auto Repair! From jump start I was greeted by Tom right away as I was in the parking lot walking to the shop. He quickly grabbed a reader to check my car for errors. After a quick dialogue about my car I headed back to work. While at work I received 2-3 follow up calls from Tom to give updates on my car and to approve work to be performed. Tom went above and beyond to find a needed part that was literally buried in my trunk - thank you! Final call was to update my car repair was successfully completed. When picking up my car Viet gave me a brief summary of the repair and even showed me the parts replaced which I didnt even ask for.
