He offered to replace the springs too. I just replaced the spring with another company last year so I was surprised to learn they were not installed correctly. We were able to reach a bundled price for replacing the opener and the springs. which seems comparable with other companies. I would use this company's services again.

I called Door Pros on the advice of my neighbor across the street, and I'm sure glad that I did. They understood our problem and worked us into their schedule that very same day. Our tech's name was Dwight, and this guy is a garage door wizard. He inspected our door and (much to our relief) said that as messed up as it looked to us, there would be no problem fixing it. Less than an hour later our door was not only fixed, but it was greased and adjusted to perfection. It hasn't worked this smoothly (or quietly) in years. This is now my go-to garage door repair and maintenance choice. They really are Pros-- and on every level. He also wanted $600 to lower the door prior to assessing and quoting on recommended repairs. Garage door company #2 sent a rep that was still very aggressive, but at least they were able to get the door in a somewhat functional condition (door rollers back on the rails, cabling back on the drums, spring tension redone) for $200. It was functioning in manual mode, but in automatic, the door would stop 2/3s of the way down and go back up. Company #2 incorrectly diagnosed the problem as an internal issue with the limits on the door opener. They also wouldn't give a straight quote or a recommendation on what to fix. It was more of an a la carte - if you want to replace the springs, $699; cables + drums + springs ($1529); garage door opener $2500+. This would be like going to a car mechanic for squeaky brakes and getting menu pricing of replacing each part of your car. I digress... here's the actual review: Because of the first two companies, I was ready for more shenanigans from Gil's. However, the representative that arrived was a breath of fresh air. Avi examined the area and gave us his assessment. The door was balanced and no visible issues with any of the parts. The Chamberlain wall mount unit was unlikely to be the issue as they are fairly robust units and probably just needed reprogramming. I told him I wanted to try and reprogram it myself and asked for a quote on a replacement in case it was an opener issue. Avi was extremely professional, honest, and taught us a little about the mechanics of the door opening system. Even though we were able to resolve the problem, I would definitely go with Gil's for any major repair. After seeing all three repairmen, I took some time on the weekend to see if there was anything I could adjust. I noticed the rail was two separate pieces of metal and that they weren't aligned perfectly with each other. I used an adjustable wrench to bend the rails a little to fix that. I also added some lubricant to the rails and cleaned the safety sensors as well. Garage door is working like a charm now.

Initial experience was bad. Sales guy came, was short with me, seems uninterested. Promised to give a quote. Waited 4 days. Didn't get a reply. I wrote a bad review and moved on. Owner contacted me asking me to remove the review and he can help me out with my gate job. I needed someone to help fix a botched gate install job so agreed. The job was to remove two existing posts and replace it with new steel posts. The price quoted for TWO posts were not cheap. He seems to think he's doing me favor for labor only but it was not cheap. It cost the same amount as the full job by the other company for the full install. I'm OK with it because at that point I wanted a job to be done by someone who knows how to do the work. Of course, I found out the reason they're expensive because they SUBCONTRACT to another company that specializes in gates. Are they the expert or is the subcontractor the expert? Nevertheless, I waited a week and a half for the scheduled date. The night before, he text me and ask if I have two steel posts that they need. They quoted me a very high amount to fix two posts but does not provide the materials for the fix. These guys are supposed to be experts in STEEL gates but do not have the materials for STEEL. So what are they experts in? Subcontracting? Reselling gate install service? What irritates me is that he sprung this on me at the last moment the day before. Our conversation was that the quoted price includes labor and materials to fix except for the extra materials that are needed that are ALUMINUM which I purchased. The fact that he asked me to provide STEEL materials at the last possible moment was maybe because (a) he misquoted me or (b) the subcontractors wanted more money to do the work. In any case, I cancelled the job. I cannot trust a company that bait and switch. If you misquote, then you own the difference, not spring it on your customer at the last moment.

The drive shaft of our ancient screw drive garage door opener broke and i knew that replacing that was beyond my short attention span and tools. we called in Precise Garage Door and got a motor belt drive liftmaster installed. we felt it was an excellent investment and very reasonable considering if i had bought the opener plus the belt system and rail myself it actually would have cost almost the same and i certainly would have screwed up something in the install. huge shoutout to jossy who did the installation. Very friendly and informative - didn't do a hard sell on anything and did a fantastic job plus threw in adjusting the tracks and making sure everything was smooth. Praise to Brandon Brooks!!! He is my new go to guy! I struggled for a few years trying to find a good replacement for Jerry(my old go to guy) from the company. Brandon is a skilled technician, and if you are keen, you just know. Fixed ongoing issue quickly that was garage door bouncing back up. Our garage door quit opening - looked like the cables were messed up. Turns out one of the big springs had broken. We called next morning, and Precise was able to come out right away. I don't need to replace everything but there are things I should replace. Richard is a super nice guy even gave me some advice on self-defense when we got on the subject and his price is a reasonable. If there are any update updates, I will edit this review. He's coming Saturday morning.

It took over 2 days and a…read morebit of time to set up the extension springs, track support and motor to make sure it would not fall down on the car or kids. After years of bracing metal fatigued panels we decided it's finally time to replace it. Since I have been using CC Door as my hinge and roller parts supplier it seemed logical to have them do the replacement. I considered installing it again myself, but decided to have the experts to do it. I am so happy with that decision! Avo visited multiple times and took meticulous measurements and lots of notes to verify the install plan. Techs Jeff and Chris removed the old door, saved me the bracing I had put on, and installed the new door and motor, which was exactly what we ordered. I'm fairly confident in my DIY capabilities, but I'm amazed at the meticulous and professional work of the CC Door techs! For example: they trimmed the corners of bracing at the rafters and used a level to run the wires for the door switch! I've never seen such attention to detail. And there is no way I could have ever made the final adjustments to the door to get it to operate perfectly, and sit perfectly on a sloped garage floor. They swapped springs and cut cables until it rolled exactly as it should. This perfection is learned from experience and training by techs who really care about doing the best job they can for a customer. No YouTube videos can teach that! I am much more than just satisfied! I can't believe how much quieter and smoother the door now works, and I'm confident this door will last a generation like the old one did. This is one of those projects that when it's completed you say "I am so thankful I hired a professional!!" We opted for the side LiftMaster motor and non-insulated panels (which I don't think are needed in the Bay Area). It was a little over $5k, but I would do it again in a heartbeat, it's totally worth it. The next time we'll need to spend money it will be my when my toddler grandkids own the house, and I'm sure they'll call Contra Costa Door!

I did not need another headache. Willie was GREAT. He never made me feel like an idiot. He was helpful and honest -- his website lists all his equipment with prices. That's transparency, and honesty. He came the next day exactly when he said he would and installed the system. He was pleasant, detailed, and had a sense of humor about life in general (which I fear I've lost for the moment). Willie himself commented that there are a lot of scammers in his profession. He took great care of me when I needed it. He suggested a reasonable price for a broken spring replacement, which I accepted, and when he began working noticed some wear and tear on a few other parts (2 bottom brackets and 2 fraying cables) which cost a little bit more, but not too much more, so I accepted those charges as well.
