He also shared a couple of things that he saw, unrelated to the repair, but will give me problems soon. Fantastic Service - brought in a Honda Element with a Vtec solenoid issue that the actual Honda dealership mechanics couldn't square, and Joe nailed it on the fix. My car has been running solid since. Joe seems like a great guy and I really appreciated the text updates he sent me of other issues he found while looking at my car (It its admittedly in not the best condition) for each issue he found, he gave me photos and a quick quote on how much to get it taken care of right there, with no pressure. Dropped my car off on a Friday at 8 am and needed it back by 12:30 pm since I was leaving town. It turned out to be a fuel sensor issue, which he helped turned off the engine light and assured us it's ok to drive home. I had a horrible AC issue last summer and tried out a shop down my street. They totally scammed me and left my AC in worse condition. I was afraid of having to pay so much again only for it to break down a couple weeks later like the past shop. Joe is 100% a 5 star mechanic. Best mechanic I have ever been to. I decided to trust the Yelp reviews, and called him to ask him if he had time that day to look at a car. He managed to fit me in to his schedule for a pre-purchase inspection. I brought over a 2007 Toyota Matrix from a dealership for him to check out. He gave it a very thorough examination, drove it around, took pictures of the problems he found, and walked me through each one with his cost-of-repair estimate. Then wrote up his estimates and gave it to me. He even took the extra time to do a quick google of the comparable value of that same make and model in the area. He caught some repairs that would have cost me a lot had I bought the car for the dealer's price. He saved me a bunch of money, and then even followed up with a text the next day to see how things went. I told him I didn't buy the car, but I'm taking another make and model in that a private party offered me to get checked by the local mechanic in my area (I live over an hour away from Precision Auto), and he gave me tips on what to have the mechanic in my area look for! Super kind, caring, and honest guy. I live over an hour away from his shop and the dealership. I wish I was closer to his shop, but if I am ever in the general area and need a repair or inspection done, he's got my business. 100%. I live in the South Bay and it was worth the drive to see Joe at Precision Auto Clinic. I needed some tire pressure sensors, tail light, clips for the tail light assembly, and a new battery. Joe had all these things on hand as was able to set them up on my Camaros computer. All of that may sound easy but it's not and could have been much more expensive at the dealership. I needed a battery and we discovered my trunk had a leak and water had been coming in. Long story short I had a bunch of lites on my dash and when we were done all of them were off and my car is running like a charm. Car battery wasn't holding a charge and dying so I hit this shop based off reviews after I was finally able to get it to start. They looked under the hood and said it "can be a bunch of things". I asked them not to turn off my car yet since I wasn't sure I wanted to work with them and if it turned off there's was chance I couldn't start it again even with a jump, he got in pulled forward and turned the car off. They wouldn't work on my car until I signed a paper that said they were gonna charge $250 min for their tim since it could be a larger problem. Since I thought it was an alternator Issue or something and was tired of risking it, I committed based off reviews only. After 10 min they said it was a dirty battery terminal, spent 25 min milking time wiping the terminals with baking soda and hot water. He then assured me that that was the issue and that if it was anything else he'd retire. $250 to clean battery terminals, with his "experience" he should've deduced in seconds upon initial inspection...you decide what occurred there. The only reason it's not a 1 star is because I did agree to everything in advance of him actually working on the car, once again though $250 to clean a battery terminal. I let a few months go by before making this post due to a few reasons. 1)I thought the issue was solved, incorrect they just cleaned a dirty terminal not fix the underlying problem with the battery. His "expertise" which cost me $250 apparently was unaware that my battery just needed to be topped off with some distilled water. Therefore this issue became reoccurent until I myself did that. 2) the way his son cleaned by terminals was by wiping down the terminal and battery with some baking soda then dumping water from a hot kettle on top of the battery and into my engine compartment. So when I removed the battery yesterday and recleaned the terminals/battery, there was a ridiculous amount of corrosion and rust that was spawned by this "experts" methods of cleaning. 3) the overall attitude the staff had knowing I was completely overcharged and committed to this outrageous rate they gave on .5 hours of work. I'm sure Joe knows a lot. However this whole transaction was cringy and the 5star rating wild since that's what I was looking at when I went there. read more

I recently bought a new car, so I haven't seen Joe in a while, but I was perusing yelp and his listing came up and I realized I owed it to him to write a stellar review for the years of incredible service he gave me. I had an Acura TL that was approaching 100k miles, and was looking to get a new car... and then I lost my job. Good times. Took me a bit to get back on my feet, but during that time Joe gave me the best, most affordable, and trustworthy service I've EVER experienced. He helped me keep my TL running for another 40k miles and was always very clear with what needed to be done for safety, and what could maybe wait until next time if money was tight. I also did some of my own work on the car during this time when money was really tight, and he never gave me any guff about any of my own work. (changing brake pads & rotors, oil changes, etc...) I've had mechanics in the past who used that as an opportunity to try to make a buck by saying things weren't done right (when they clearly were fine). I've had a series of great jobs over the last couple years and have a brand new car, so I haven't seen Joe in a while, but I can assure you that he's the best... and I feel like in some ways, he helped me get where I am now.
