We had a sales person (Matt) came for an estimate for standby home generator on April 30, 2026. We…read moresigned the contract and paid for a deposit with credit card. We applied for their Synchrony Bank payment plan with no interest for 18 months. After sales guy left I checked the location of the proposed area and saw that there is a vent there. I called and emailed him. He said he didn't know what type of vent but the generator is vertically 5' away from the vent and 5' away from a window. However, the generator is NOT 5' horizontally from the vent. We also told GenPro sales guy it takes 30 days for HOA approval. GenPro emailed us the estimate on May 5. I applied for permit with HOA on May 5 after talking to sales guy and receiving his drawn in generator in my pictures that I sent him. Meanwhile I emailed our builder (May 3) and independent home inspector (May 6) to find out what type of vent is near the proposed location. We thought the fresh air intake vent is on the roof. It took them a few days and we received replies on May 6. They confirmed that it is the fresh air intake vent. So when the generator emits carbon monoxide it would travel approximately 59-60" up into the fresh air intake. Yes I took into account the concrete pad and the top of the generator. I measured the vertical distance from the height of the generator to the bottom of the vent. On May 6, their install team emailed and said they would do installation on May 18. I told GenPro to hold off on everything as I am waiting for HOA approval and I am not comfortable with the proposed location and need to do more research. This was the same day I received replies from builder and home inspector. GenPro then sent a field supervisor to my house on May 8 to answer questions. He said GenPro would move the location further along the wall and we would not have to pay for the extra electrical and gas trenching cost. This would mean there is about 20' between the generator and AC where we can't push the lawnmower in. We have a narrow lot. We do not feel this is best for us. In addition when time comes replacing the AC unit would have to be lifted above the generator. There is no gate on the side with the AC and proposed generator. Meanwhile Synchrony Bank charged us 50% of the balance on May 1 (over $6,000). I received an email of the CC balance on the account and it is due 6-2-2026. I did not receive the Synchrony credit card in the mail until May 11 and have not even activated the credit card. I have emailed GenPro on May 11 to cancel, request deposit refund and charge back to the Synchrony amount. I have not heard from them. BEWARE of this company. The sales team just cared about making the sale. If I had not questioned the proposed location GenPro would have installed the generator at a location that is UNSAFE and possible leading to death. See my picture of the vent and GenPro's marked up of where the generator would be.

I'm very happy for the very good catch this electrician made. Beware. My mother in law has and still is a customer of gen pro for years now. I finally called Worldwide Power and was told they could get someone out. I was not informed that it would be overtime NOR mileage of $3.25 per mile. They were not able to fix the generator only diagnose. I received an invoice for "get this" $946.24!!!! Here's the breakdown: 2.5 hours labor at $255.00 per hour 63 miles @ $3.25 per mile Environmental fee 19.13 Supply Charge 12.75 (again, nothing supplied) Sales tax 72.12 (on all the above charges) including the mileage and fees They spent no more than 30-40 minutes to tell us they didn't have a part to fix it. I am very upset, and tried to negotiate and explain my feelings of gouging after such an event to no avail. Beware if you call them: ASK FOR EVERY CHARGE UPFRONT! After much back and forth, I was told they would credit the entire invoice which I appreciated more than you can know. However, that is not fair so I informed them I would send payment for 1/2 of the total charges as they do have to pay their worker and expenses. I am satisfied with the final customer service and have now given them 3 stars.

He was polite and friendly as well as did a great job. Other companies we tried, the technicians were in and out in 15 minutes. That's not acceptable for a generator. Fernando spent about 30 minutes testing everything out and making sure it was good to go for hurricane season. I have 100% confidence that my generator will function perfectly should the need arise. We use Malek exclusively, for the last several years, for the maintenance on our GENERAC. After going 21 days without power after Ike, we invested in a Generator, which needs regular service. Their prices are very competitive and we do end up saving money. They come out, change the oil, make sure all of the bells and whistles are functioning properly. They are always kind, helpful, & professional. Today they told us about a new program theory offering, a program for home warranty for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. The price was amazing, we're saving $40 a month compared to Sears. While Fernando was here, we mentioned that are dishwasher is malfunctioning. Fernando went to the truck and called the office and had him take pictures of the issue. We just received a call and got an appointment for tomorrow to fix the issue. They would have come today, but the issue isn't so terrible that we need to interrupt someone's dinner, tomorrow is perfectly fine. I highly recommend this service for home repairs. I can't say enough good things about the quality of service and the quality of the people performing the service.
