The test was negative and they asked me to come back in for another in-person visit to order more testing/imaging. The office is far away, and I didn't think they were actually going to make an impact on my care so I cancelled my appointment. My PCP convinced me to make another appointment because they haven't tried everything possible to rule out Rheum issues. The next appointment was with a PA with a heavy Vietnamese accent who refused to order any additional tests, wouldn't order any new imaging, and gave me no fresh information. It was absolutely something that could have been a phone call rather than an in person appointment nearly an hour away from home. The office itself doesn't look great. They had cheap, metal fold out chairs in the exam room, no paper covering on the exam chair, and the seats in the lobby were sunken in and old.

Thank God for Dr. Kim. He know gout like no other Doctor. I've been his patient for about 8 years…read more If you need a specialized gout Doctor he is your man. I went to my family doctor because I live a bit far from Dr. Kim and I needed prescription medication. It seem like he (family Dr.) knew about gout but all he did was cause me way more pain, so bad I had to visit doctor Kim right away. The pain is 60% gone minutes after my visit and one day after its 85% gone. Usually I go in with a bad limp and come out walking, but since my family Dr jack me up I came in a wheel chair and left with way less pain. Dr. Kim quickly pin point why my gout esclated all of sudden. My meds from the other doctor were for gout prevention but if taken when gout has attacked it can make things way worst. I would recommend Dr. Kim to anyone who has gout. My insurance also doesn't cover Dr. Kim but I still drive 40 mins to an hour to see him, he's that good. Plus he's very nice, informative, take his time and try his best to make things painless.

I called and could not understand the girl who answered and she was extremely rude once I figured out what she was saying. She let me know they could not honor the referral even though I had just gotten it as they are full for the whole year and can't take new patients. She followed up by hanging up on me. I called back and shw hung up on me again. I had to call a 3rd time to confirm what I was trying to understand.

Let me tell you the story of the physician that saved my life. On a balmy day towards the end of…read moreApril, I had symptoms that required the skills of a neurosurgeon. The first spinal surgeon declined to operate on me as the site of surgery was too close to my brain stem involving my spinal cord. He referred me to his friend and that is how I got into contact with the neurosurgeon that saved my life, Dr. Erick Westbroek. I'm not sure why there is one disgruntled review on his Yelp page but nonetheless, I would like to speak accolades about his professional treatment of me with courtesy and respect. When he first examined me, I had a pretty serious medical problem that requires immediate surgical intervention. I'm talking about the kind that can lead to an occlusion of a vertebral artery could potentially cause induce a stroke. However, he was very calm and collected when he reviewed my medical notes and charts, knowing full well my medical condition even before I stepped into his office. Though he outlined the risks of the surgery, he spoke with a sense of reassurance that only someone who is confident in their skills can. I had my surgery within 2 weeks of initial consult with him due to the manner of my emergent medical condition. The day of surgery, he looked very relaxed and full of energy, ready to do my surgery. I was able to speak with him for a brief moment sharing how people of almost the entire orange county are praying for me and for him before the surgery. He made his surgical mark with a marker and before I knew what was happening after I was wheeled into the operating room, I was anesthetized. After what felt of only a minute, though the surgery lasted 6 hours, I woke up in the intermediate care unit where I had full use of my limbs again. As a physician, he restored my health. It was incredulous to believe. An ailment that I was afflicted with for several months was now abated. I could walk again! Not only that, I woke up to a new Pope elected after my surgery, Pope Leo. Furthermore, 2 of the nurses that visited and cared for me was my classmate and student. If that is not an uncanny coincidence, I don't know what is. I knew it was one of those where God provided Divine Providence. What a fitting name as the hospital where my life was saved... was owned by Providence. Thank you Dr. Westbroek for your consummate service to your patients. I would consider you a renown neurosurgeon in this county of Orange as there are few people with your subset of technical skills to operate at a precise level, restoring the health of the human body to its original function.
