My transmission was acting really funny, and I had been procrastinating for quite some time. This place was nearby and the owner, John Gonzales, said he could do a quick diagnostic in 15 minutes or so, so I headed over on lunch. The place isa bit tucked way in the back of a strip of warehouse space. Friendly, unassuming staff. I was offered a bottled water. The lobby was a bit snug. I guess the word "cozy" could be used instead. Apparently my transmission fluid was 3 quarts low, so they filled me up free of charge and sent me on my way. There wasn't the typical sales-y "Well, you should get this or that done.. etc". They're straight forward, kind and will take your business when you're ready. If you don't appreciate the sales-y, stuckup mistreatment of the chicks that answer the phone at the bigger corporate places. You'll save a few bucks and won't be treated like an inconvenience just for calling for pricing. Ahem, Midas, Ahem. I'd highly recommend that you take your car into John. I am the owner of a 2007 Ford Explorer that suffered a sudden loss of transmission. Finding a decent, honest Transmission mechanic can be very stressful, especially with kinds of with ads and info out there. Many people have horror stories about visiting the wrong shop for Transmission overhaul, and end up losing a ton of money. Fortunately, I found Precision Transmission, who did their job well and charged fair prices. They were very helpful and understing to my sudden situation. i was very worried and sceptical, especially that this was my first time to deal with the shop in such a huge issue. John, and Shane were always trying to put my mind at ease through good research and best ways to resolve my trany situation at the most cost effective way. John went and picked my car from the "Stealer". After listening to my different options; (rebuild Vs.used), and for $100 more than a used transmission, I opted for a transmission rebuild backed with a three year warranty or 36k miles. After a weekin the shop; I took my car, then went for a long trip to debug the rebuild, and sure enough bugs started showing. Came back to them; they were happy to receive the car; made the final alteration with added parts and labor at no cost (large if out of pocket, that's where the waranty kicked-in). After my second long distance road trip the car is debug-ed, shifts right, shit timing right, kicks down right, and runs smooth. All staff at the shop went out of there way to make me happy, even did dome minor stuff at no charge. Thank you John, and Shane !!! The rebuild was successful, and my mind is at rest. I could not be more satisfied with my Transmission rebuild, level of service, and politness of staff. I recommend others to rebuild there transmissions at Precision transmissions. read more

I'm upset with them for the simple fact that after my car was quoted to be fixed in 1 week, next week will be 1 month of me not having my car back. I like to support Natomas businesses, but in this matter, I'd rather take my car else where. They always called us back when we leave a message; However, this "day" or "next week" is becoming a issue seeing that I now have to rent a car weekly, because my car isn't fixed when it's suppose to be! read more

After reading good reviews and hearing good things about Precision Transmission, I recently had a friend take her car there for engine work. Her vehicle was there for a little over a month. Although very pleased with their work once she got the car back, their communication SUCKED! During the time her car was in their shop, she called several times and left several messages to check on the status of her vehicle. They do not answer their phone the majority of the time...a BUSINESS phone...and they do not return phone calls. COMMUNICATION is an important factor to great customer service and it also helps if you want customers to come back AND refer others to your place of business. read more

This shop is a joke!!! They originally replaced a burnt out clutch on my vehicle. Upon leaving the shop the clutch was a little tough to shift. I was told that I "needed to break it in" That was in November. The clutch never got better. In fact it got so bad that my clutch petal completely went out in April. I had to return my vehicle to the same shop hoping they would honor their warranty and stand by their work. Yeah right!!! The car was towed to the shop. I went in the next day to sign the paper work to start a diagnostic. It took 3 weeks to just be told "your clutch dosent engage" Three weeks to tell me what I already know. Not why its not engaging just that its not. Their some real rocket scientists if you ask me. But that's not all... After repeatedly calling and receiving NO ANSWER I drove up to the shop to see my vehicle sitting in the same spot the tow truck parked it 1 MONTH PRIOR!!! After a conversation with the owner as to why my car wasn't even looked at yet I was told that "They were waiting for me to pay a diagnostic fee first"... If that was the case why wasn't that said when I signed the paper work??? But there's still more... After they agreed to accept payment after a diagnostic was done it took over a week to hear from them again. Again after receiving no answer after repeated ph calls, I drove back up to the shop. This time the owners wife was there not the owner. She let it out the bag that this was an ongoing issue with not just me but other customers as well. After speaking with her the owner started to try and return ph calls. Wow I had to get your wife on you to get you to do your job. After that it still took a total of 2 months to get my car back. Upon going to pick it up o was told that it still might have some issues... LIKE I SAID, THIS SHOP IS A JOKE. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!!! FYI... If my clutch goes out in under 6 mos I will be suing them!!! read more

I have had my car in other shops before and never have I experienced the poor customer service and service that I received with this shop. John Gonzales and his shop are a joke. He changed phone numbers 3 times while my car was in his shop and never gave me the new number until I was texting and calling the other number back to back. Then I received a text saying not to text the old number because he had a new number. He made up excuses as to why my car wasn't done. One excuse was that he was in the hospital having his heart checked because he was having chest pains the other was about his father in law being in the hospital. I think he is just looking for his customers to feel sorry for him. I was very patient with him in repairing my vehicle only for it to breakdown the minute I took it home, not once but at least twice. I gave him the opportunity to make it right, which he never did. The last day I picked up my vehicle, according to him it was done, he text to say he left my car outside and put the keys in the gas compartment. He wasn't there to give me my paper work or to see if I was satisfied with the repair. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I drove it home and the tranny was worse than when I took it in. He promised to give me my money back and several months later, I am still waiting. He says he is waiting on a settlement from an accident he was in and will give me my money back. Well still I wait...my car is still broken down several months later and no money back from him as he promised. I would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone! Although the address says N Market, his shop is now at 1241 Santa Ana Ave., Ste 7. I won't rest until I get my money back and if that doesn't happen, I will do whatever I can to have his shop investigated and shut down. read more

if you want a returned phone call or to know whats going on with the repair of your vehicle DO NOT go here... i live about 45 minutes away and had to physically drive to this place of business to get any answers, it had been 5 days they had my car and come to find out it hadnt even been touched, another 5 days later we got our car back finally! 2 months went by and we were on our way to tahoe and oh surprise surprise the transmission goes out... we had it towed to precision transmisssion, they have had our car for the last 7 days and haven't returned our calls in the last 2 days, this our only family vehicle, these guys know that so you'd think they would do their best to get it done asap but hell no they arent, they are choosing to ignore our calls instead! THANKS FOR NOTHING PRECISION TRANSMISSSION. YOUR BUSINESS WILL NEVER BE RECOMMENDED BY ME! read more

Definitely DON'T recommend! They don't know what they're doing! Misdiagnosed AND misquoted the problem my car was having. It took forever for me to get my car back and it WASN'T FIXED! What a mess! I took my car somewhere else and it was fixed within 2 days for way LESS MONEY! I don't think the owners are REALLY knowledgeable about cars?
