I was recently visiting Sacramento from out of town to help my special needs daughter get settled in her new home and unfortunately had an unexpected accident that had me towed to SK Auto's doorstep at 10pm. Obviously they were closed at that point but we communicated the next morning to address my 2 flat tires and possible damage to my car. Two women (my best friend and myself) stranded with no car away from home! We were treated with respect and kindness. I cannot tell you how appreciative we were!! The gentleman who initially helped me was so kind and got to work assessing the situation. Once they figured out that the vehicle was safe and just needed TWO tires. Scott himself drove us to my daughter's group home so we could continue working on setting up her room on his way to purchase the needed tires!!! We were able to complete helping my daughter while they fixed the tires and checked the alignment and did a test drive to make sure we could get home safely. We were on the road in our safely repaired car by 2 pm! So I will say, if you're in a pinch, these fantastic fellas will take great care of you!! Also, as a woman traveling alone I so appreciated that we were not taken advantage of. Actually the complete opposite! We were treated with the upmost respect, kindness, and reasonable cost for the work they did so quickly for us so we could get back home!!! I will never forget how well we were treated and the quality of the thorough work Scot and his team did to assure that we could get home safely after an accident that made an already taxing trip even more stressful. After repeatedly seeing their ad in the Natomas Shopper and the rising cost of services at other shops, we decided to give SK Auto Repair a try. We were impressed with their recommendations, service, prices and felt they were fair and not pressuring us into spending more. So far we've used them for 2 smog checks and a handful of oil changes. While there isn't always a confirmation for appointment requests online, they've always been able to accommodate us when we came in for service. Their service is quick and reliable. This morning I had an issue with starting my car. I called SK Auto in the afternoon and Chris let me know they could check my car today and change the spark plugs or battery if needed. I came in as soon as I could and 15 minutes later, Chris returned with the mechanic's findings and quote for repair. I appreciated Chris's explanation of the issue and recommendation. After an hour and a half later my car was fixed and I'm on my way out the door. Give SK Auto Repair a try. They are reasonably priced, provide excellent service and get the work done quick. Was quite annoyed that when the service guy came to say I was done but I needed a transmission flush because the fluid level was low. Since I was there a year ago and the typically top of all fluids, I asked him how that happened since it was obvious that step had been missed. Solid. Brought wife's RX 330 sexy Lexy suv to get a smog check. Called prior in the week and they said no need for a reso. Really? Noooiiiiiccceee! So brought it in on Saturday around noon. The owner had us fill put the deets, get key and had us sit in the waiting room. Clean and nice waiting room with a tv. Not even 15 min later it was done and passed easily! Coupon applied and got $36.75 + $8.25 cert. Not bad. I have had mamy cheaper but not as fast, comfy nor as nice as the owner was. Imma bring my GS 300 sexy Lexy in for my smog check next time! SK Auto in Natomas, has been my regular go-to mechanic for approx. 4 yrs. They are the Best! Here is a recent example : My 2010 Jeep went dead after the charging system signal appeared. I had it towed to their shop. diagnosis was alternator and battery. Replaced them both. Picked up the Jeep and drove it the next morning when the same issue occurred. Had it towed back to the mechanic's shop. New diagnosis, needed computer replacement, as this one was knocking out the alternator/causing battery overcharge (my understanding-hope I got this right...ha-ha). They explained they could order/install another PCM, then have a mobile unit come out and program it or take it to a dealership. My choice. I was hesitate to take it to a Dealer after reading all the negative Jeep dealer reviews. I took my chances with SK's recommendation to take it to a Dealer where it would be warranted and further diagnosis if necessary. The shop is at the End of the building all the parking spots were full right in front. It was my first time to this spot so I kind of was unfamiliar with where I was going. when you get to the shop the road keeps going so I had to turn around as I was turning around the owner came out yelling.. He thought I was going to pull into the stall in the back. He very rudely told me to park out front. I did and sat for only a few minutes when he came into the office area his energy was still rude so I said if there is a problem I can go else where... He said that is your choice. I've been to this place a couple years back and they had told me I needed to replace my transmission because it was slipping. At the time, I did not care too much to fix it since I started to work from home. I wasn't going to drive it any where far but of course letting my car sit for a long time was a bad idea. Fast forward to today, and I finally got enough reasons to finally get it in to get fixed. I already knew I was going to come back to these guys to get my car fixed. I wasn't going to go anywhere else since they were very good at communicating with me. I was told that there is a 2 weeks turnaround for my car since they'll need to wait for car parts. That was fine by me. 4 days before that 2 weeks was up, they called to let me know my car is done. Omg, the exciting feeling of finally knowing that I can drive my car safely was beautiful! I don't know cars. Most mechanics know this and sometimes pull a fast one on consumers. But I don't think S&K Auto is one of those places. My Hyundai had been creaking at low speeds for the past month or two. I went in expecting the worse. Called in to schedule an appt, got it for 9am the next morning. Dropped off the car, they called back after a few hours. Turns out a bolt for my shocks was missing. Other than the labor fee, only had to pay for the single bolt. I have been coming here for most of my auto repairs and maintenance needs for the past 5 years. They've worked on all of our cars, from my 4x4 Ford to our hybrids. Hardeep is an honest guy, they don't try to mess around and cite issues that aren't there. They do try to upsell, but I expect that from repair shops, when it is legit, afterall, they are running a business so I don't fault them for wanting to make money. When they point out problems that are recommended to be addressed, they will let you know that it can either wait or is critical. There have been some projects that are outside of their abilities however, e.g. Hybrid transmission swap. But for 70% of the issues that could come up, they should be able to take care of it, and within a reasonable price. The shop is clean, with a couple of seats and television. The employees are also fairly friendly. read more
