I took my daughter car there yesterday and she and he was on the phone and she explained to him what was happening to her car. Needless to say it was not what she thought was leaking it was something elsewhere and he gave her w price but said if she brought the car back in two days he could get the parts and the price would be cheaper . I have been going to Precision Tune Auto car for over nine years in Decatur. They have repaired several of my cars. Jason and his team always go out of their way to complete my repairs on time. I recently had my front brakes replaced and also had a problem with my A/C. Honda wanted twenty four hundred to replace part of my electrical wiring. The real big dude is lazy as hell. He kept losing screws, bolts parts from my car, and promised to replace them and never did. Everything was $400.00 to fix!! Never under. That was suspect. It's obvious the employees are on a work release program, and that's fine, but the one guy was drunk as hell!! For the sake of your car and your sanity, DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!!! 1. The customer service is horrible. Never in my life have I experienced such awful customer service. 2. Brought my car in because the AC was blowing hot - I assume they added either Freon or Refrigerant (which has to be done by machine) but the AC was still blowing hot air. I bring it back the next day and I see a guy adding a bunch of stuff to the engine by hand. The AC was blowing cold that day, but went out soon after. They said they did all they could and to take it somewhere else, even though the problem wasn't fixed. Ok. Mind you I just bought the car used and hadn't had any problems with it, then the engine starts being weird, I take it in for a diagnostic and they say I need the spark plugs fixed. Okay. I don't know what happened but Im then told that somehow there's stop leak fluid all over the engine and the head gasket is blown. I've never added any fluids to the car and I've only taken the car to this place to get maintenance. I call to see if they've added stop leak fluid because maybe they thought the Freon wasn't holding because of a leak. The first guy I talk to Roy, is saying no one added fluid by hand to the car because the AC stuff is all done by machine. Even though I saw with my own two eyes them adding stuff by hand. He says no the person that worked on it never added anything by hand. I say okay, what's the name of the guy that worked on it? He says Roy. I say there's no way because the one that added stuff to my car was a skinny white dude. Roy is black. So I'm really confused as to how they organize their service reports and paper work etc, I ask to speak to another manager. They say call back in 20 minutes and ask for Matt. I call back Matt answers and he is the most rude manager I've ever come across!! I'm simply asking questions about what could be added by hand to fix the Ac problem and he's yelling at me and accusing me of trying to scam them!!!! When I never even asked for a refund or anything of that sorts. I'm just trying to get clear on what could have been added by hand - as I sat and watched them add something by hand. Matt is extremely rude, hung up the phone on me when I was a paying customer trying to trouble shoot what could have gone wrong. I went there September of 2022 and started noticing engine problems in November - hence me taking it for a check up and then saying it needed spark plugs, then saying actually there's Stop Leak everywhere and the head gasket is blown!! I'm not sure how stop leak got into the car? Maybe it was there before I got the car, maybe it was Precision Auto - I'm not sure. When I noticed engine problems in November I didn't think to correlate it to when I got the AC fixed because I had no idea they could be connected.. turns out some mechanics will use Stop Leak for Radiator / AC issues and they said all of the skinnier white dudes have been fired. I'm not sure what went on. I see so many other reviews for negligence on part of Precision Auto tune so I'm wondering if the guy working on my car just didn't know what he was doing and messed something up?? I think they're the problem because I literally have only taken my car to two places to get checked out. This place and Express Oil who noticed the stop leak. With the horrible customer service, accusations of trying to scam them??? And all of the negligent reviews and even the paper work not having the correct service provider on it, I'm led to believe that something they did caused the engine failure. It sucks that Matt, the manager is so unprofessional and unwilling to have helped me potentially diagnose the problem. He was immediately defensive and angry. Like a child who didn't want to get caught in a lie. Unfortunately, Matt didn't care to help me. He was being unreasonable and for that I genuinely hope he loses his job because he doesn't deserve it and paying customers don't deserve him being a menace to them. - RE: in regards to the comment left by the shop, and I initially called to talk to them about the matter and the manager screamed at me and hung up the phone!! Brought my BMW for a simple oil change. Charged $80 and oil began leaking right away. I took it back and they said there was nothing wrong with it. My car continued leaking and then the computer stated "minimum oil level, replace oil". I took it to the dealership and they said oil was never replaced and my engine was running dry and could blow up. Do not take your luxury car there. Lesson learned. read more

I wish I could give this place no stars. You better not take your car here....you will be sorry. My friend took his car here in September. He paid for a regular oil change. A few days before Thanksgiving it was time for another oil change so he decided to go back here. When we pulled up I said this don't look like a legit place but hey let's see what they are talking about. When they looked him up in the computer system they had no knowledge of what service he had prior. They asked him what did he pay with? Why does that matter? Are your mechanics stealing money? So I started to get a little frustrated. Then he asked about the car and gave a recommendation for synthetic oil. Ummm I immediately said I don't think so. I asked since he doesn't know what he placed in this car can we get a flush and then place the regular oil in. He then said that will be a charge. For you all's mistake? No sir. I asked my friend who did you buy this car let's just call the dealer. While I was walking I heard him saying something but I was to out done already. All they want is your money, the service was horrible! No real mechanics, no one is certified. Went because the wait was short and now I see why, they can't even close a damn hood properly! My family and I were driving home after my oil change today and the hood flew ALL THE WAY BACK, hit and cracked the windshield and now they're trying to tell me that it's MY fault. Granted I had hood damage but it was not at all significant, and I'd been driving it that way for weeks. It latched back down fine once we pulled over in the median and shut it, with no need to tie it down, so I am CERTAIN that it was their incompetence that almost caused us to have an accident. read more

My check engine light was on and my car was sputtering so I took it here to have them look at it. After paying a $100 diagnostic on the engine, they said I needed a new timing belt kit and spark plugs needed replacing and quoted me over $1,800. After calling around to a few more places I got a quote for less than half that price to do all the same things to it. Turns out that all that needed replacing was my air filter. When I went to go pick my car up, they had taken the battery out of it for some reason and had forgotten to put it back in. They knew I was coming back to get it to take it somewhere else and still didn't take the time to put back what they had changed. My car was barely running after these guys handled it, and I'm lucky I didn't have to get it towed to the next shop l. Luckily it wasn't far from this location. Taking my car somewhere else saved me almost two grand. These guys either don't know what they're doing, or they just plain tried to scam me. Always get a second opinion. My husband and I took his car there to get fixed and let's just say they need help on their customer service. No one called us the whole time they had his car. We had to call everyday. We finally get our car after they made us wait almost 3 hours and 2 days later the check engine came back on. Had to return the car they tell him we are priority (it's only gonna take an hour) and no one called us by the time we called back they were close. Since they are off on Sunday we had to wait until Monday to get our vehicle back, but when Monday comes no one seems to be aware when we can get our vehicle back maybe tomorrow maybe the day afterwards when we've already been paid. At this point we are both heated and they are so nonchalant with us ans the issue. They told my husband they don't care we had to rent a car (terrible customer service) at this point I'm having to intervene before it escalates so after talk with the manager that's making excuses the whole time they finally fix the car and admit they made a mistake while replace some of parts... smh would not recommend read more

It must be something that I've said or done to the manager of this place. One of his employees told me that they would look at my car and see what could possibly be wrong with it. I brought my car back and there he was, the manager who doesn't like me at all. Lol. Now mind you, it's not that he's mean or impolite but there's this certain vibe you get that he really doesn't want to help you or give you Any information. I brought my other car up there on other occasions to be serviced. And it's always the same vibe. I told him that one of his employees said they would look at my car and see if they could see what was wrong. I was willing to at least try to replace a part simply based off his recommendations. Well lo and behold, I return with my car back to the shop and there he is standing behind the counter. The manager. I told him what his employees said and he said "is the engine light on?" I said no. He said then I can help you. I said why not? He says the engine light has to be on for me to diagnose what's wrong. I begin to explain to him the symptoms and he still said I can't help you sorry. Very impressed! In and out within a half hour for an oil change. Everyone was so nice and the waiting area was clean. They even had cartoons on the tv for the kids, which made the wait even more bearable. Good prices, and they were very honest. Usually I feel like mechanics are taking advantage of the fact that I'm a woman and try telling me I need all sorts of pricey repairs. I would love to give this place a negative rating but since that is not an option I guess I will leave this little note here. On the 23rd of August around 8:30am my car started over heating on my drive to work so I did what any smart person would do and I pulled into this Precision Tune Auto Care in hopes that they could help me out. Upon further inspection of my car they told me that I had rust in my coolant tank and that it would need to be flushed out. They also told me that I would need a new water pump and a new radiator hose. So over 6 hours and almost $900 later I finally made it to work only to find out that I had coolant pouring out from the bottom of my car which was not the case before I got it worked on. I also noticed that my car was making an awful noise that sounded like I was driving a motorcycle which was super alarming because I was not hearing this noise before I brought it in. I was smart enough to take videos and pictures of the issues so I could come back and show them the problems I am now having after it was said to have been fixed. So today on the 28th I was finally able to bring it back and would have come sooner but I was working and they were not open over the weekend. So today I showed them all the issues I was having since having it fixed and told them that I felt the issues should be taking care of with out charge. I asked them if they if they noticed they loud noise my radiator fan was making as it was hitting against a plastic piece and making it sound like a motorcycle... The guys response was this: well we noticed you didn't have screws on the plastic piece to hold it down and I said well I would have told the customer this "did you realize you are missing a few screws would you like us to take care of that for you?" And I was quickly responded with a very rude response and considering I that I have worked in customer service since I was 14 years old I understand the importance of how you talk to the people who are giving you money for their service. Today they are also telling me that I need a new freeze plug (which I am kind of curious as to why they didn't notice something with it on the 23rd considering I was here from 8am until almost 5pm) I don't know if I am getting pour customer service because they feel like I am a young lady who does not know what she is talking about... But mind you that could not be further from the case! I am writing this review in hopes that someone higher up will see that and fix what should have been fixed from the start! I should not have had these issues right after I pulled out of their shop but that's sadly what happened. So here is one salty customer who will not be visiting this company anymore. And I am praying that nobody else has this kind of customer service like the way I did over the two visits I have been here. These guys did a terrific job. The service & management was excellent. When inquired about a listed internet oil change special, they said that special was over, but if I came in they would honor it. They did. I also had a tune up. I had had problems with emissions as written about before with another company--Mieneke. When I found out that I had not one but two O2 sensors out after changing the first one myself, I was told after the estimate that PT had given me that if I could find the part cheaper, they would do the repair with the part I brought in at the labor estimate given in the original estimate. It was a deal and they honored the work as said the next day when I brought in the part. No Hassles. I will use these guys for all other work I need that they can do. The pricing is fair and there is no hard sell. The owner is there working everyday with the rest of his crew. Good job. read more

That new manager guy just lost Chazz (owner) a 6 year loyal customer with 3 cars. I've been coming here for All of my car maintenance and small repair work for last 6 years. And this week it all crumbled. I had to bring my car back 4 times throughout the past 6 months because my brakes kept squeaking constantly even after they replaced all 4. Come to find out I needed new rotors also. Why didn't anybody tell me when doing my brakes or the other 3 times I came back about the squeaking noise that rotors are needed also. I would have got them done at same time . This final time, when they did my rotors and an oil change, somehow they affected my battery(which was only 1.5 years old). I went back today to tell them my car is starting sluggishly and It didn't start until they did the rotors and oil change. And I'm aware rotors and oil change have nothing to do with the battery. So that was even more alarming to me as to why the car started sluggish. So the manage guy immediately became offensive ( like I knew he would). What did yall do to my car? So after checking my battery he says, I need a new one. I ( a long time loyal customer ) also ask him to check my alternator and he says " I have to charge u to check that". Really after 6 years and u recently cause me the need for a new battery.... Checking everything that your guys may have caused is the least u can do. I'm so done with this location. Won't even be back to get those oil changes for any of my cars. This place may be ok for the little stuff, but don't let them do any "major" work, they'll tear up your car and then make it seem like it was like that for ages... read more

I hate that I have them one star because I certainly wanted to give them -1 stars!!! I went to get a simple oil change (against my better judgement because I usually go to the dealership)... Well I noticed that my car was smoking when I got about 10 miles down the road and my car began to smoke like a chimney.. My car has NEVER had any issues EVER!!! I called PT and told them I was on the way back. So I get there and the mechanic (term used loosely) said a little oil wasted and they cleaned it up and it was no big deal.. I say ok and leave. I go about my daily routine and on the way home I noticed my car was smoking AGAIN!!! By this time PT is closed ... I finally get home and park in the end of the driveway to get mail and I got back in the car and pull in the garage ... When I got out the car I notice a HUGE puddle of oil in my driveway and oil is steadily LEAKING from my car !!! What the hell did they just do to my car?!!?!? I will be there as soon as they open and demand a full refund !!!! read more

Went to this location for a oil change. The service specialist heard my car idling high (electric throttle body light was on) and told me I probably only needed a tune up. about 3 weeks later, I have my car towed there bc the throttle body indicator cause it to basically be undrivable. Long story short, they checked out my car and told me I needed my throttle body replace. I had been researching my situation ALL DAY LONG and for my particular experience (electric throttle body light on and traction light, no check engine light), the throttle body was NOT the issue. They did NOT have an explanation for wanting to change my throttle body and telling me that there is a sensor short and/or computer problem didn't make sense to me in changing out an essentially mechanical part. I told them I needed further explanation, they told me to make a decision bc their guy "had to go and get parts". Tried to charge me almost $700! I ended up taking my car to my old mechanic across town and he indeed told me it was a computer issue and had absolutely nothing to do with my throttle body, and didn't charge me for that information. Precision charged me $75 for NOTHING. didn't even give me the codes from the diagnostic test. DO NOT GO HERE. They will take your money and will NOT fix your issue. Horrible service in my opinion.
