I went to this place to get an oil change because I bought a livingsocial deal that listed it as one of the places that would accept my voucher. Monica did a great job of helping me out and her quote time was spot on. They have free wifi, a phone charging station, complementary coffee, a clean waiting room area with lots of seats, and a tv briefly showing different programs. I walked away very happy with my service and the oil change sticker in my car even stated that I get $5 off my next service! The only thing I was surprised about was that they don't top off your fluids unless you pay extra for your oil change, especially considering the fact that I had a $25 voucher. Tip: You can bring your car in at 7:45 AM to have your paperwork filled out so that it's ready to be serviced when they open at 8. read more

*I can't thank Precision enough* I absolutely adore this maintenance shop. I found them when we first moved to California in 2008. Since then they have done the maintenance on our vehicles over the years. Their staff is always friendly and welcoming, and I appreciate their honesty about services that need to be done. Last Fall, my 10 month old baby was diagnosed with cancer and maintenance has been put on the back burner. I was working with his social worker to see I could get help from a charity organization to cover a few things that were badly in need of attention. I went to Precision to get an estimate for the work that needed to be done on the brakes and tires in addition to regular maintenance that was overdue, and the manager recognized us and offered to help us with the repairs free of charge. I was in tears 2 weeks ago trying to prioritize between brakes, tires and an oil change that were all desperately needed to get my little guy all of the way up to Children's Hospital Los Angeles for chemotherapy every 1-2 weeks, and their help brought our family so much relief. I Just happen to walk in on an unhappy potential customer who returned to the shop the day after to complain about the wait time for an oil change that they did not want to wait for and never received. The guy made a disgruntled video and called the staff racist and making threats with profanity because he had to wait an hour and a half. Some words were exchanged. Can't blame the service tech for standing up to someone calling them things out of his name it's only so much you can take. Customer Service field is unpredictable . I needed an oil change and found a great Groupon for this place. The girls at the front desk were awesome. They were pleasant and very helpful. My only issue is that i had to wait 2 hours. So my car needed smog done in order to renew my registration. Luckily, a friend/co-worker referred me to this place and directed me to speak with Karim. As soon as I parked, I was greeted by one of the girls that work the front counter. I told her I was there to see Karim and he quickly came out to greet me. He assured me the test would not take long, as I was on my lunch hour. While my car was getting tested, Karim came out to chat with me about my other co-workers that take their cars to get serviced there. I felt extremely comfortable & at ease with him and his business. The girls at the front counter were friendly and made return customers feel valued. The work area looked very clean and in order. Overall I think this place is great & definitely would recommend this place to my friends & family. If I could give 10 stars, I would!!! Do not bring your RV here. I brought my 1982 GMC Brougham to Precision (twice now) to have brake lights work done as one of the brake lights did not work. They did some other minor work and a thousand dollars later, they tell me that I have some loose connections that need to be looked at in the future but all lights work. I should have checked my brakes lights before I left the lot. I drive for an hour, get home, discover that I have no working brake lights and so I pull off the back light covers....and discover that the mechanic took out the bulbs and never put them back in! The light bulbs were loose and rolling around. The mechanics negligence put me at risk of a ticket or worse. Not a good place to take your RV for electrical work, that is for sure. This was my second visit to Precision in El Cajon. The first visit months earlier... they smogged the GMC but for some reason, the DMV never reported receiving the electronic smog report. Precision blamed it on the DMV and gave me a $15 discount...and I had them smog it again for another $200. Two visits = two C.F.s...never again for me. read more

When I called I asked the manager if they could look at my car now, he said sure I have someone I can put on it right now, I arrived within ten minutes. I do not normally review places unless they either go above and beyond or really, really have issues (IMHO). Manny, as usual, did an outstanding job on my last service. It had been over a year (due to COVID) since I had used my 1998 F150. It was just sitting in my apartment complex the whole time, and I believe we used it only once in 2020. I knew going in that I needed some work, and originally planned to have a radiator flush, a transmission flush, a full synthetic oil change, a battery change (it was already old and COMPLETELY dead when I went to fire it up earlier in the week), and a diagnostic to find any other issues. I discovered my truck sputtering as I took it in, so the diagnostic seemed worth while. I had no engine lights or any other previously known issues that would cause the sputtering. Manny did every test he could think of during the diagnostic to no avail, and went above and beyond once the engine code returned the (ambiguous) error to finally determine the actual root cause. It turned out he had to order a special component sensor of some kind because fluid was leaking into the connection. After informing me of the necessary delay to get the component from Ford, we discovered that Ford, somehow, didn't realize they didn't manufacture the component necessary for my truck, after sending the wrong part. Manny was able to find a third party that had a new one, saved me $300 in the process, and was promptly able to replace this sensor component upon arrival, which involved (yet another) transmission fluid exchange (no extra charge). My truck has never ran smoother, and I appreciate all the effort Manny and the team at Precision went through to help me ensure that my truck got back on its wheels again. read more

Honestly I haven't had any major repairs done here as of yet but I would certainly not hesitate to do so given the experiences I've had with the oil changes. If there were more stars, I would select them. My 17 year old son took my 2005 Dodge Ram to a local Dodge dealer for an oil change. He returned from the dealer with a long list of "small repairs" needed. Two of the repairs listed was to flush and replace the power steering fluid and the brake fluid. The dealer quoted $300 for both flushes. I took my truck to Precision Tune in El Cajon. They quoted me about $170 for the same repair. They checked the fluids with a chemical strip. Neither fluid needed replacement. They thanked me for coming by to check and sent me home with no money out of pocket. That's good, honest, and reputable business practice! Thanks! read more

Finding a place to get an oil change on a Sunday afternoon is difficult, but we gave it a shot, and weren't disappointed when we got to Precision and were told at 12:00 it would probably take 1.5 hours. My husband and I went shopping, and came back after an hour to find it outside and waiting. Frank was incredibly helpful, and the price was reasonable. A friend of mine mentioned this place as his go-to oil change spot, so after looking at some positive reviews I brought my car in for the cursed service engine soon light woes. Turns out it was multiple issues with burnt out sensors, and getting all the codes to clear was more than a simple task... But Ken and the crew there worked what seemed like overtime just for me to get back on the road! They worked with me with tons of patience and the end cost could have been tons more at another place. My boyfriend initially took our Nissan Altima for an oil change through a Groupon for the company. This oil change was only about $30. At the end of the service, he was informed that the oil pan was damaged & they needed to replace it. He went ahead & paid $361.47 for this replacement (not an expense we were anticipating but nonetheless, we paid). My boyfriend then took our other vehicle, a RAV 4 in for the same Groupon oil change & the exact same "oil pan" was damaged which cost us more. This cannot be a coincidence that it happened to BOTH our cars so my boyfriend proceeded to explain the situation that happened to our other car & requested a manager or the mechanic that worked on the car. The mechanic would not engage my boyfriend so all his complaints went through the manager Luis. Basically what it boils down to (since my boyfriend & I are both in mechanical quality control), the mechanic & his incompetence (probably not even licensed to work in this field) was using a power air tool to unscrew the bolt of the pan to drain the oil. He rung out the threads in the oil pan making it unusable. Most vehicles, cannot handle that kind of force & telling them what they did wrong proved futile.Obviously if this mechanic cared enough, he would of gone the labor intensive way & do it correct from the start. I understand it takes more time but that is no concern to me, the consumer. I then went there the next day (keep in mind, we were out of a car for 24 hours because of their negligence & the service desk rep brought my boyfriend home in Luis's shiny new Lexus vehicle, ironic right?) I was piping mad when I showed up with every reason to be & they refused to cover the charges of their negligence. They also coerced my boyfriend into signing for the service work to be done, not knowing it was a binding contract for payment so when I showed up & they refused, I drove our vehicle off the lot without paying. Needless to say, a police report was filed & I was forced to pay for something I need not pay for. Their business etiquette is disgraceful & karma will get ya. I may not be there to see your down fall but sooner or later, you will falter as a community member. Word will get around and I am doing my due diligence for people to avoid your business in an effort to dwindle your profits. I will also be sending my complaints to the head office with some corrective action to you. You deserve no stars but I had to give at least one read more

My experience was awesome! I felt like I was a family member to the owners son, Frank. The son Frank was compassionate about the family owned company and his respect for his father was genuine and real. Frank made me feel comfortable because I don't trust people to work on my car and when I came thru the doors Frank was so compassionate about the employee's and customer because a week ago they were broken into and lost $7000.00 and Frank was hurt by the robbery because it effected the employee's and their families. The girls in the office taking payment are awesome. Very friendly and quick, especially Monica. The technicians however, cussed at my boyfriend because he was not in a designated parking spot (they're repaving the parking lot so parking is limited) and there was no parking. He was waiting for me to finish up and get by car. He's handicapped and there was no parking! Instead of politely asking him to move, they cussed and yelled at him. Would I come back? No. Although the price is right and the girls in the office are friendly, it took over 2 hours for an oil change and their technicians are rude (to put it nicely). read more

Honest and professional does explain the appreciation that I have for this business. I've taken all of my vehicles for a multitude of services with each one being performed with the customer's satisfaction in mind. To give just one example would not do them justice, but my most recent service was performed for free. I had my Dodge Durango's transmission replaced with a 90 day warranty. The transmission went out after 6 months. Without any thought they offered to perform the replacement free of charge. My family and I are very thankful.
