I wanted to rate 5 stars, but there was a tiny glitch in service. Other than that, I was super happy with the experience. I am a new Texas resident and this whole car inspection thing is new to me too. Everyone at the auto shop was very helpful and knowledgeable of the process, even next steps outside of their auto shop. I had to fix a couple of things to pass inspection and I feel like they were reasonably priced and very quick. My one concern: I had a bolt in my tire and they decided the fix was a plug. I even asked to make sure this was a permanent fix and they assured me it was. After leaving the auto shop with a clean bill of health, my tire popped and went flat on the highway with me going 80. It was pretty scary. This could have been avoided by the auto shop if they fixed it correctly the first time by putting on a new tire. They were extremely apologetic and they waived the installation fee on my new tire that had to be put on. Despite that incident, I would still return to this shop. Close to my house, friendly customer service, fairly priced and very quick. read more

I think Chris now knows my husband and I when we walk through the door, because we've been there many times in the last 6 months due to both our cars needing some maintenance and work. I'm originally from the Frozen North, Massachusetts so my car has a rusted bottom due to the salt on the roads from the snow. This has taken a toll on my car and some of its parts. I've had my car looked at from other shops and they gave me a huge list of things that needed to get done. Including being told my bottom will likely drop =\ Precision on the other hand, did have recommendations but it wasn't this huge long list, it was more realistic and some suggestions on maintenance. Over a number of visits, I've had an oil leak repaired, tires aligned, new tires, something broke during this process from the rust (they warned me about) got that fixed, some tire part thing shaved down, oil changes and I think that's pretty much everything on my car. The guys gave me two options on something that needed to get fixed, one which was a temporary solution and another a fill fix but cost more. The fact that this place actually gave me the options were nice instead of saying, you need to spend 1200$ today on this 1 thing. My husband has had basic maintenance on his and inspection. Completely recommend this place! GOOD people running a good business. I have had some terrible experiences before --but this place (family owned and operated) has been very good to me. Today--I had an oil change and the "free" brake inspection--my brakes were sounding like they needed to be done [[several of my friends even told me so because of the sound--Precision could have easily sold me on a brake job or more]] --but it was just a loose pin making the sound so it really ended up a "free" brake inspection! And "just" an oil change--at the price they estimated! HUGE relief for this car-ignorant single mom that has been snowed for $800 of needless repairs at "Just Brakes" before! I had set aside a few hundred dollars just in case--but walked away with just an oil change and money in the bank! I so appreciate their honest and fair business practices. read more

I just called to get a quote on changing out the cabin air filters in my truck and my wife's vehicle and I was very pleased with the price. Looks like I will be going there a third time. They also manage to get my vehicle taken care of in a timely manner despite always appearing to have quite a bit of business. Timely, affordable, and courteous staff... I have to say that Michelle at the front counter is one of the best, most knowledgeable, friendly people that I have encountered when taking my car anywhere. It's so refreshing to have someone at the front at all times who takes care of the customers. Typically you'll have the mechanics running in and out of the shop trying to help you and usually they are so annoyed to have to deal with anybody. She actually knows what she's talking about too. I stopped in, we talked about my brakes, they looked it over and gave me an estimate. They didn't try to upsell me on things I didn't need but just included a few additional items about the brakes that would need to be done at some point (and they gave me estimates for that too). As a result, I had them do the whole thing. I made my appointment for the upcoming Saturday, and they even offered to give me a ride to my house since I live so close. The work was done on time, they didn't come at me with any extra "stuff". Michelle was straightforward, explained everything that was done, and paid and left! I will come back. read more

Didn't have an appointment scheduled .. Came in for an inspection and oil change .. They fit me in and had me out within the hour. Fast service. Great price. Fabulous customer service. I had my 4yr old daughter with me and they put cartoons on for her and even have a nice selection of kid books for her to pick through. The office and restroom was very clean. Back in July, I paid about $250 for an oil change, state inspection, new tire, wheel alignment, and new signal light, which I thought was reasonable. I had to stay up there on a Saturday for a few hours while they worked on my car. The owner had ordered pizza for lunch for his crew because they were really busy. Seems like he treats his employees well. He was super cool and could probably tell I looked hungry () so he gave me pizza because I was waiting so long! I took advantage of a "VIP" program last fall. Thought it was a great deal, until I started using them....they offer "appointments" for your routine oil changes.....I thought great idea...then I have discovered that the appointment is a total farce....I had an appointment for 2 pm for a simple 15 minute oil change....arrived at 1:20 hoping they could get to my car quicker....told it would be ready by 2 pm (40 min)....when I got back at 2, the car was not even close to being ready...told it would be soon....well it was 3 O'clock before i got out. this is not the first experience I've had with the extremely slow service. Horrible Horrible Customer Service!!! I purchased a Groupon Deal for an alignment at the north Lamar store they never answered to phone to see about making an appointment. So I dropped by there was a two man crew and the Cheeto eating so called manager has absolutely no customer service experience. After waiting for about 15 min for someone to come to the front desk and I was the only customer in the store at the time he finally came inside the whole time I was watching him out side doing nothing but eating chips The phone was ringing off the hook which explains why my calls were unanswered. After asking may he help me I told him about my Groupon and he immediately replied their machine was broke and to come back in three days it will be up and running just be here by 8 no appointment needed. Ok so I returned only to be fed the same BS with a twist it's broke come back in two weeks or go to another store. At this point I'm highly pissed. So the next day I choose to go to the William Cannon store only to be fed the exact same BS our machine is broke. I guess they rehearsed this BS line to tell Groupon customers. This is my first and last attempt to ever do business with this Horrible place of business. I do recommend you shop around before you consider this company to do any kind of repairs to your vehicle. I'm very disappointed in their customer service. I had a broken thumb & a two year old & they didn't help open the door even though I was seen struggling , I was told to come back after one p.m. at 930 in the morning.After calling to verify one p.m. being the correct time it took 30 minutes to get my car in & another hour to do the oil change! When my car was pulled out & my kid was screaming they didn't feel it was necessary to cash me out before taking in a walk in client. During cash out they forgot the whole reason I came & did not apply the yelp discount.And the cashier couldn't be bothered with remembering my name even though she spoke with me 3 times. Friendly, but incompetent and dishonest! Had an A/C compressor replaced in March 2015. Freon leaked out in 4 months. They diagnosed it as evaporator leak ($1500+ repair estimate). Had an A/C tech friend use his leak detector and it turned out to be an obvious leak where the pressure switch screws into the accumulator. After that it was fine until 4 years and less and 20k miles later the replacement compressor started leaking oil around the shaft. I replaced it myself with an OEM compressor and discovered the compressor they installed was a VERY poor quality imitation. After less than 20k miles it already had a broken reed valve and leaking seals plus it didn't even have piston rings like the original. To top it off they charged $400 for this $100 generic part. read more

Came in for a state inspection, Dave was great at the front office. Made an appointment because I saw that it gets busy, and saw that first hand. They're good, so therefore they get a lot of business. They're honest so I like that, the lobby smells clean and kinda like cinnamon so that def was to my liking being pregnant with a super sniffer. They tend to have coupons on their website, so I scored there. They had plenty of magazines and tv to keep people occupied. They had the Keurig coffee option, vending machine and you even have an option to buy some girl scout cookies the owners daughter was selling if that helps your stay. read more

I took my car in to check rear squeaky in my brakes and was charged $135 dollars to clean pads and turn rotors. The next day the noise came back and I took my car back and was told I needed to replace the pads. Not sure why this wasn't done the first time. Didn't agree with the additional charge. First time I visited this place, since my wife had a $2 discount for their services. I went there for an inspection and it went by smoothly. Made an appt. for 9:00am and I was on my way by 10:00am. The counter guys are friendly and easy to talk to, not in a rush to get you checked in/out for the next customer. The fact that they have appts. makes the process much smoother. There was a customer that came in and wanted an oil change right then, she was told the earliest would be at 4:00pm. Of course she said ok, I'll go somewhere else, and the guy on the counter said ok, thank you for coming. He didn't try to fit this person in for more business and have others wait...good Job! I can't speak for any other services, but for an inspection, it was quick and painless...painless in the wallet as well. I left there for under $20! I am not at all happy with the service. For just a battery replacement they charged 55 dollars for the Electric diagnosis. Immediately after that i have a ignition problem randomly and asked them to check then they say we need to do one more diagnosis to check for 98 dollars. Even for the coupons even though it shows in their website they ask us to show the proof. In short am not comfortable to bring the car back here. read more
