This is a great Indian restaurant that is close to home. I always order their delivery whenever I'm having a craving for some good wholesome Indian food. They have always gotten our order right and the service has always been prompt. Ordering is a breeze and their food is delicious. I typically order the Began Bhartha (eggplant) along with a protein dish, usually lamb or seafood. Always quite good and I love that they deliver. I would recommend and would 100% order for delivery again. I haven't eaten in the restaurant in years so I can't attest to their in house service. read more

For the longest time I've avoided Indian food and I was just sick of pizza or chinese for delivery, so I just thought what the hell and decided to order from here since they deliver. Since then I've tried many dishes and they are all great, but I always go back to their butter chicken and chicken masala. I LOVE their butter chicken since it's not overly sweet and has a very rich tomato aroma. The chunks of chicken are very tender and perfect! The first time I had their samosas I fell in love with them and felt like it was the perfect comfort snack! Several times after that I couldn't eat them because the skin was still on the chunks of potato and it was paper like which ruined them. I did try their Aloo tikki as an alternative and I thought it was pretty good, it was like a spicy hashbrown. I did not like their tomato soup at all, I took a very small sip and it tasted like Campbell's. I know it's a very small thing, but they have the BEST saffron basmati rice!!! You have to pick things out of it before you eat, but the flavor is perfect and worth it! I don't like to cover my rice in the sauce, but just use the sauce that's covering the chicken and it's a perfect combination. I love that they have online ordering and they have descriptions for all of the food as well as options for your spice level so it's an extremely simple process. read more

Our party of 5 had a Sunday evening dinner here on Jan. 31, 2010 - this marked the 20th time we have visited Preet Palace since 2007. Yes, the customer service is very hit-or-miss here. Sometimes there is no one around, service can be slow, and one can get the feeling management (if there is any) doesn't really care if anyone shows up or not. However, there have been a few times when we actually were welcomed on arrival and received quality attention. Nonetheless, if you are picky about such things chances are you'll be a tad annoyed when you leave. Now to the good part. Whether it was from the buffet or off the menu I can say we have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. We have often commented that if not for how great the fare is here we probably would never come back. I think it compares very favorably to Harvest of India in Herndon or Rangoli in South Riding for example. The naan here is best we have had anywhere. The food in the buffet is always kept hot. So for now we seem to keep finding our way to the Preet Palace when we get a hankering for Indian food. read more

Went on Wednesday night, place was empty at 7pm. My wife asked the waiter if he could change the boy band album that was on repeat to something more traditional. Food was great, my wife had a gift certificate so we went to town but it would have been prohibitively expensive to do so otherwise. She had the vegetable biryanni and I had the rogan josh. Their naan bread was great, but we had to order 2 servings to get enough. Service was awkward, and they actually asked us to write this review. I was disappointed. We ordered take out and when we got home they completely forgot and order of rice. We ordered two entrees so we should have gotten two rice...and they forgot our appetizer. When i called back...they had no idea who we were even though we were there literally 5 mins ago. kept insisting on an order that wasn't ours. Finally after many times repeating that they forgot part of our order they said would deliver what they forgot which is what they should do. We only live a mile away. When we finally got our order 30 mins later. . . .the appetizer, a chat dish I've had at other places and this wasn't good. It was too drenched in yogurt, its all i tasted. the order of rice they forgot, they put in those really small take out boxes which is would barely feed one person. The rest of the food was not hot....meaning...it was cold. The curries were cold like they either just gave us something from a large pot that was cooled or they had left out or order for awhile even though they made us wait a long time when we went to pick up. I really enjoy Indian food and decided to give this place a try. I ordered a lamb dish, and while the lamb was tender the overall quality as far as Indian food goes was pretty poor, the flavor and taste from the spices was not up to that of other Indian restaurants in the area. read more

I wouldn't even give it one star. A bunch of crooks run this place. Took a $400 deposit for a party over the phone with no issues and no questions asked. I had a family emergency and had to cancel, gave them more than 30 days notice and now they don't do refunds over the phone. Someone told me I had to come in, and when I come in I get the "the manager is not in, come back later" answer. I called later the lady tells me sorry we can't refund your money because you didn't call us within 24 hours of paying the deposit...24 hours? Really! I was told by one of the managers or owners on a previous day to come in and they would write me a check! Shouldn't have given me the run around if you just wanted to keep the $400. I am surprised by the level of unprofessional service the manager named kabir has. I mean he was freaking drunk himself, while taking care of the table. He was so clingy, that he bothered us all many times. I can't believe that actually he forced me to have that mango drink, and managed to disturbed out decent conversation many times. WOW!!!! Thats all I really have to say! I was on a trip to VA from California, and I was staying at the Hyatt about 2 miles from here. I was looking on my phone at 10 pm for a place that would deliver, and this place showed up! I called them, and it think it was about 5 minutes before they closed...I was not accustomed to traditional Indian food, and the owner was really patient and told me what we should try. I ended up ordering Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan and Gulab Jamun. They were willing to deliver, but since I was soo close I just picked it up! They were already gong out of their way to make me food. I picked up the piping hot and fresh food, and the owners were soo nice and happy! They confidently told me that if this was not the BEST food I had ever tried to come back in the morning and they would refund my money.... Let me tell you IT WAS AMAZING! I ended up eating there for dinner the next day! I absolutely fell in love with indian food thanks to this place! Upon my return to California, I have been to about 10 indian places within a 50 mile radius of my house... they don't even come close to the quality of food and the personable service of Preet Palace!!!! read more

I had a late night dinner at Preet Palace last night. We arrived around 9:30 and there was only one other family in the restaurant. Every time I have gone there, the lighting has been little too dim. I think they need to fix this. It seems depressing. Secondly it seemed like the air conditioner wasn't working. We were waiting for the food and sweating. There was no music (usually they have light music on). I am wondering if this was because of our late arrival? ... We ordered 2 plates of appetizers (all mixed varieties), Murg Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Naan and Raita. Appetizers came with Pakoras, pieces of chicken kabab, samosas and been kabab. Appetizers were not as fresh as expected. (I give it 2 out of 5). The other entree's were superb. Everything tasted great. (4 out of 5). Everyone loved the food. Prices are a bit high but the food was good. I will definitely return, but may take it to go. read more

My bf and I ordered a chicken curry, murgh vindaloo and three garlic naan. We ended up getting 2 naan, one basmati rice container to share and both our meals came with barely anything in our sauce. The sauce tasted watered down and we had about 6 pieces of chicken. Usually when we order from Indian restaurants we get an order of rice with each sauce/meat ordered. This place gave us one rice to share. It was the same size as the sauce containers. Overall I will not be ordering from them again. It was not worth the $40+ spent. read more

Everything we've gotten has been so good! I ate the Rogan Josh at least once a week for the last month of my pregnancy, and my husband thinks the Lamb Shish Kabob is some of the best he's had. The rice which comes with is great (I think we need to order extras for left overs!) and all the breads have been so good. A great find! read more

This is my "go to" place for a great Indian lunch buffet. Butter Chicken - excellent. This dish has so much flavor. Probably my favorite dish in this buffet. Lamb - tastes okay. There is not much flavor to this dish. Tandoori Chicken - this ranges from day to day. Sometimes they marinate it with too much vinegar. Sometimes there is no flavor. Chicken Briyani - this dish is pretty dry, but its the same with all indian restaurants that serve this dish. Although the chicken has pretty decent flavor. Basmati Rice - goes very well with the butter chicken. Also takes great with raita. Raita - tastes amazing with the bazmati rice. My favorite thing to do is use it as a dip for the fresh Naan that they serve. Naan - awesome when dipped in Raita. Rice pudding - this is a must try. My favorite dessert at this restaurant. Milk balls - this tastes like fried donuts soaked in syrup. It is pretty good, but very fattening. read more

Went on a sunday afternoon . Terrible mistake ....The Adult buffet for 11.95 does not command that price. worth just 2 cents. Place is deserted for a buffet. Ordered a Chicken Biryani and a Chicken kabab. The kabab was more like a tikka. some hard pieces roasted and garnished to hide the look of kabab. Chicken biryani was like a vegetable fried rice with come boneless chicken pcs. They need to learn how biryani is made. Please avoid buffets at all cost. i dropped a good tip because my kids messed the table and surroundings other wise it is not worth to eat food here. I had previously taken takeaways and were good hence thought to give a try. 2 adult weekend buffets + 1 chicken biryani + 1 chicken kabob + i kid buffet. was 56+ taxes + tips 65$. was not at all worthy. read more

This is the best Indian food in the Centreville/Chantilly area. I've never been there when most of the other diners weren't Indian (or at least Indian looking). The menu has a good range, although I can recommend the lamb vindaloo. You can explain just how hot you want the food and they will adjust the hotness. The decor is not super fancy, but it's nice and clean. They have a fairly large banquet hall which is often in use, but not noisy. They have a bar, but I've never seen anyone in it. They have a nice lunch buffet, but it's a buffet. Order off the menu for a better meal. I've been coming here for years and never had a complaint about the service. It's one of my wife's favorite date-night places, so we are there to talk, relax and eat good food. I imagine the service might seem slow if you are looking to get in and out quickly, but if you want a quiet, friendly place to relax and eat fantastic Indian food, this is your place. read more
