How have I walked by this place dozens of times and never tried it out? We went last night and we…read morewere blown away. Even though it was 6:15 on a Saturday night, we were able to be sat right away. As soon as we walked in, someone greeted us and showed us to our table. Our server immediately got us waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink (wife and I both got some delicious beers that they had on tap). We had our little one in tow with us and they were so accommodating to him! As soon as we were ready, our server took our order. We got: Chowder "frots" (fries and tots mixed in with some New England clam chowder, bacon, onions, cheese, and other goodies) 10/10, would definitely order again. My wife got the lobster roll with a side of clam chowder. Loaded with lobster, but you do pay the price. Labeled as market price, this was almost $40. Delicious, but not worth it in our opinion. 6.5/10. Pan roast (house specialty which came with shredded crab, shrimp, clams, and muscles). This, topped with rice, was heavenly. Better than any pan roast I've had. Came out ripping hot as it should. My wife was envious of my dish. 10/10 From the kids menu we also ordered the chicken Alfredo. My kid loved it, but my wife and I both had a bite and wow, we would've ordered that for ourselves it was so good. 10/10. We can't wait to come back just for the food. On top of that, however, service was above and beyond. The servers and everyone in the restaurant were so accommodating to us and our child and made us feel so, so welcome. We would come back even if the food was bad, solely for the service we received. Vibes we great, decoration on the walls look like they hired an artist to paint it. They had two TV's behind the bar / prep area that was showing NBA and PGA which I'll never complain about. All around 10/10 experience.

Po boy had nice crispy shrimp on a fresh roll. Comes with a side of fries. Pan roast was a nice creamy broth with shrimp mussels and crab. Comes with a side of rice. Mac and cheese was a pretty big portion for a kid, really cheesy and rich. Overall pretty good meal and surprisingly pretty affordable considering the cost of seafood. Service was attentive. Would recommend.

Prego is officially one of those places that feels like home to us. My parents and I came in for dinner, as we do often, and once again, Prego's completely exceeded our expectations. At this point, we're not just regulars -- we're LOYAL. Every single time we come in, they go above and beyond, and this visit was no exception. From the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the sweetest, loveliest host, who also happened to be our server for the evening. She was absolutely AMAZING! So warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She was constantly checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being overbearing. You can truly tell when someone takes pride in what they do, and she made our entire experience even more special!!! And let's talk about EDGAR the bartender ...This man knows what he's doing! We ordered espresso martinis, lemon drops, and a Mai Tai, and every single drink was fantastic. Beautifully made, delicious, and definitely got the night started on the right note! Then came the FOOD... OUUUFFF BABYYYY. We started with some of our absolute favorites: - "The San Daniele Pizza" DELECTABLE. The flavors, the freshness, the perfect combination of everything... absolutely incredible. This is a MUST for us every time. - "The Beef Carpaccio" an easy 10/10. And THEN... dessert. We finished the night with the delicious Chocolate Sundae which was honestly the perfect way to end an already incredible meal. BUT WAIT... because this is where the night got even more special. As our dessert came out, the one and only ICONIC CHEF UGO came out to greet us! He recognized us right away -- hahaha, I guess that's what happens when you come here as often as we do! He took the time to come over, say hello, and personally greet us, which was already so sweet. But then... he gave us the dessert on the house!! That kind of hospitality is something you don't forget. And honestly, what makes Prego stand out isn't just the food -- it's THE STAFF. Prego is a place I just can't stay away from! Every time I'm in Tustin, I find myself craving their food and making my way back here. My absolute favorite dish is the Carbonara -- hands down the creamiest, most delicious carbonara I've ever had. The chef really knows what he's doing; it's rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely addictive. The ambience is casual and intimate, which makes it perfect for a relaxed lunch. We usually come during the daytime and it always feels cozy and welcoming. We haven't tried dinner here yet, but it's definitely on our list for next time! I used to go to the original restaurant years ago...and was so please that is was just as wonderful as I remembered! Richard took care of us at the front desk- very pleasant and friendly. I really notice how the greet/host is with guests, as it sets the tone. Many hosts don't care about the customer and are not very professional. The decor was rustic & cozy, I loved it. I went with a few friends. Our server, Kelsey, was so great. She made some recommendations on both food and wine. I loved her personality, and she was on top of everything. I was so excited that the lobster raviolis were still on their menu. It was just as tasty as I remembered! One guest had the sole piccata, and our other friend had the pasta carbonara. The service was the WORST. There was 10 of us, but we were quite orderly. We are a slightly older group who know how to behave in public. We just did not want to make a scene there. The waiter we had was terrible and seemed to be pissed off for being a waiter. The service was horrendous and they seemed to be in a hurry to get us out. They tried taking the food away from one who had just finished 1/3 and just gone to the bathroom. Another, they took his salad, WHILE HE WAS EATING IT. Do top it off, when we got coffee, the cups had obviously not been washed and when one of the people asked to speak to the manager, he said, "It is just coffee." I could not make this stuff up if I tried. I would rather be lit on fire than go back to this place. Truly, truly, truly awful read more

So, I went to Prego for my birthday dinner, thinking "new place, new vibes." Turns out, not my best choice. The whole experience was just average, and honestly, a bit below average. Monthly girls night out and we had the most amazing dinner. The salmon was the best I've ever had, and my friend ordered the chicken Parmesan which was perfection as well. We had a great experience on NYE. Our server Kyleigh was wonderful although they were super busy, and the food (Sole Ripiena) was beyond delicious. This is the first time that I see Prego super busy on a holiday, but we didn't have to wait long with a reservation (people were waiting). Management was very attentive also. We've been here twice now (thanks Patrick from Orange Toyota for recommending!) and I had the generously portioned lasagna and my husband had the giant platter of risotto with calamari, clams, mussels, shrimp, etc. Both were outstanding. The dessert choices are more than Ive seen anywhere before--we had the vanilla gelato with chocolate chips and chocolate sauce. The prices are very reasonable, the server was efficient, friendly and humorous (true Italiano). We will be back soon--with friends...all the way from Carlsbad! It's worth the drive.
