They advertise themselves as "one hour cleaners." I took a garment in at 10:30 a.m. (six and a half hours before they close). They asked me when I needed it by, so I said, "end of day is fine." They replied that that's not possible and the best they could do was Monday. I don't care how good their work may otherwise be, don't advertise something you can't honor. Change your sign. read more

I called Prehop on Monday evening, based on a recommendation from local residents, in a Facebook Group known as "Brookfield Connections." The man I spoke to was very nice. I explained that I wanted a new silver zipper put on my jacket and asked about pricing. He asked how long the zipper was, and I told him about 2 feet. He told me it would be $20.00. I brought the jacket in Tuesday morning and reiterated the same things that I had mentioned the evening before - that I wanted a silver zipper and needed it by Saturday morning, because I had a wedding to attend. The short, Hispanic women working the desk - very friendly at the time - assured me that this wouldn't be a problem. She measured my jacket - it was 17 inches, which is clearly less than 2 feet - and told me $20.00...fine. She also asked me if I wanted her to clean the jacket for $12.00.. okay, fine. She wrote up my receipt -- Saturday AM pickup and the total price of $32.00. I showed up at 12:30 PM on Saturday afternoon, to find my jacket sitting in a bin on the floor, dirty and waiting to have a new zipper put on. Holy crap! I had to leave at 5:00 for a wedding. She (the same woman who was working Tuesday morning) told me that she had already cleaned it and that the zipper would be done soon. I picked up the jacket, saw strands of my blonde hair and lint everywhere. I told her that there was no way it had been cleaned! She argued that it was, she just needed to steam it and it would be ready by 3:00. I left, peacefully, praying that this place came thru and my jacket was ready by 3PM. When I came back at 4:30 PM, the jacket was ready to go, but suddenly the price had changed.. $35.00. Umm, what? When I questioned the price change, she became very agitated. First, she tried telling me that the zipper was $25.00, not $20.00. I'm a teacher, and I can do math - that would mean a total of $37.00, if it were true. I pointed this out, and THEN she told me that the cleaning was $15.00, not $12.00. Okay... this is a joke, right? I told her that I would not pay more than $32.00, the amount she wrote on my receipt. She responded by telling me that she had to clean my jacket in 1 hour and it was "disgusting, so dirty." Now I'm pissed! My jacket was not ready on time, you're trying to charge me more money, and now you're insulting me? Great way to lose a local customer. Here's the kicker.... I open the dry cleaning bag and the zipper is GOLD! I specifically asked for silver, because it matches the buttons on my jacket. Ugh!! I contacted the manager/owner, and he was very apologetic but offered nothing besides an apology. I definitely will not be back, and I recommend taking your clothing somewhere else. read more

I'm super happy with this place. My man needed his uniform pants hemmed and another pair needed the zipper repaired. She did all of that, dry cleaned our clothes, and took it upon herself to stitch up a snag in one of my skirts. They are friendly, talkative and welcoming as well. The three alterations to my new interview pantsuit (shortening of sleeves, pant legs, and tailoring of jacket) were perfect. The price was $45, ready exactly when they promised, with free pressing included. It seemed like a fair price. I dropped off on Thurs. and picked up Sat. afternoon. I'll be back. read more

She does a wonderful job with alterations and can get them in very quickly if it's an emergency. The cleaning I think is average it's not my husbands favorite place to have his shirts done but is by no means bad. If you are having alterations done it's a good one stop shop. A plus is they will take a credit card if you don't have cash with you or checks. read more

**Review based on their tailoring service** No on-site tailor. Disappointed their tailor seems to rarely work. I paid for a new interior pocket for a coat, which was not installed to my liking. They asked that i return to do it again (no charge), but when I did, the tailor wasn't in. So I returned again to find the tailor was on vacation for 2 weeks. I asked for my $20 back, but was refused with no other solution offered, except to wait until the could get around to it. I won't be using them for any service. read more

This is like the old days. You deal with an expert and the person you talk too doesn't farm the job out, they actually do it. I think the owners name is Michael, apologies if I'm wrong. He did my sport coats super fast. At pick-up he pointed out I had some buttons missing and he had replaced them. Perfect use of initiative. Can't recommend enough. read more

they are the best! since moving from Brookfield my husband and I have tried many dry cleaners in our new neighborhood and finally gave up. we just go out of our way and go back to prehop now. alterations and cleaning are both excellent, fast, and reasonably priced. the owner is so nice and friendly. read more

Dropped of a simple easy tear to sew up maybe like 1-2 inches. The lady told me it would take a week and $15. Came back to pick up and it looked like a 5 year old sew it! Won't be back, don't waste your time read more

Tried this place again (with my pretty dress) and they did a great job. The price is right as well. For a dress, a blouse, and a small accessory jacket it was under $20. I don't have anything that needs altering so I can't comment on that. I just adore finding a great place close to my house. read more

They have new owners, so some of the posts below no longer really apply. Disappointed in the service, they cannot deliver on what they promise as far as when your clothes will be ready. They told me when my clothes would be ready for pickup, and when I went to pickup they could not even find my ticket or clothes and was told to come back tomorrow. Went back they had the clothes but still not ready, finally got them a week late. They speak really good Spanish but not so good English, hard to understand. Also the owner does not understand what a Closed sign is for. Went there around 6:30 pm to pickup, I was not sure if they were still open. The door was open, sign said open, and the lights were on, so I went in. The owner told me, "just so you know for next time we are closed, we close at 6:30." Nice job from the owner! DO NOT RELY ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT WHEN IT COMES TO WEDDING APPAREL. I dropped off a brand new dress with original tags to be tailored. When I picked it up, everything my dress came with was not returned. There were removable straps with the dress that were removed and the tags attached were as well (I'm not sure why they needed to remove the tags at the top of the dress to alter the bottom of the dress). When I asked about the whereabouts of the straps, they blamed it on me; telling me that I must have removed the straps prior to drop off.. I LITERALLY purchased the dress and drove it to this cleaners for alterations. The owner (a Korean lady), who did the alterations, gave no apology and insisted I was at fault. It just so happened that my manicurist down the road had a similar mishap with this same woman and had also vowed to never go back. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have never written a Yelp review before but my experience here necessitated it. Do NOT go here, the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I brought in a very simple order, 3 pieces-- a dress, a blazer, and a sweater to be cleaned on a Tuesday afternoon and the woman asked me if she could have it ready for me by next Tuesday, a week from then. I said no, as I needed the dress by Saturday morning to wear it to an event I had that Saturday night. She said no problem. My mother went to go pick it up that Saturday morning and after a long time of looking for it they finally found the ticket and said it wasn't ready with no apologies. I was irritated but decided to wear a different dress and came in that Monday and after not being able to find it again it wasn't ready and they asked me to wait there till it was ready but that would be a while and I was on my way to work, so I left. I then went to go pick it up on Wednesday, they still had trouble finding it and I had prepaid for the order, and I was rightfully annoyed that I had been in twice and it wasn't ready it in time and the owner rudely did not apologize or offer any remedy and was rude and smug. They are ridiculously unorganized and then I got home and realized they shrunk the dress I cleaned. Awful attitude and awful service, won't go back and suggest everyone goes to a better cleaner as there are plenty of local ones. read more
