When I consider reviewing any company I have to be honest and say to myself would I use this or any company again? And the answer is YES! I would . Finding a quality pool builder/contractor isn't easy and word of mouth , recommendations go a LONG WAY! It's also not like reviewing a restaurant or something. One has to ask themselves many questions and even though our pool was completed around March 2021 I wanted to see the after care and if I was going to have any issues with the construction itself and so far the after care is better than the construction process. So would we use premier again YES ! Without a doubt but, we would get another sales rep/designer and would do thing a lot differently Because we had major construction issues like horrible communication , contractors broke our water pipes and didn't tell us that I later found out that caused major issues! I suspect They tried to hide it and wasn't honest, damaged city property and our water drainage system that I had to pay myself to get repaired money that I didn't budget. Brandon Reisenauer our sales rep was not there when we really needed him and Drew Risso was not very nice to us they forgot to complete the drainage for our pool cover vault that they finally finished after one of there guys discovered it after we kept complaining! But despite those problems and many more I would still use and recommend premier pool & spa in fact we our considering buying hot tub through them I just would do thing differently! Customer service has alot to be desired. All the parts to these pools are a bunch of cheap junk. I wouldn't recommend Premier Pools to my enemy. Last year I had to replace the manifold and now this year the motor to my pump! And none of this sits out in the open. A major component to my not yet 4 year old pool motor to my pump has gone out. Joey designed us a beautiful pool and showed us great service and professionalism. He made us feel at ease during the whole process. Our other contact during the construction phase was Luis. He was also great to work with and was very attentive to our needs. Those two guys and the rest of the staff at the Salida branch are the best. They were all there in every phase of the build. We got our pool done in 2012 by the PREVIOUS OWNER... the lights installed started flickering and basically non functional in a few months. We reached out to them multiple times by phone, email and text messages with no success. IT WAS FRUSTRATING and we just gave up!!! It's been 5 years and I noticed that they have NEW OWNERS. Contacted them today and spoke with Lyn. She was very friendly and sympathetic. I vented regarding the poor service in the past... with just one phone call, they have scheduled for service to look at our lights. Hopefully this is the solution we have been looking for. read more

These guys are awesome! My husband and I put in a pool in April of 2018 and they surpassed all of their promises. It was completed far ahead of schedule and were so good about answering any and all questions we had. I had great experience working with Brandon and Drew, who are part of the Sacramento crews and currently managing Salida office under new ownership. They are responsive, trust worthy and work hard to change the image / poor customers experience from previous owner. This was my first pool; completed Mar 2017, so it has been a year now and I am quite happy with the design and quality work. From day 1 experience, I wasn't sure if or when I would move forward with the pool construction since I just moved into new home. I wanted to have a pool on side-yard, but like to have the backyard landscaping done first. Brandon worked closely to address all of my concerns and questions to ensure I have facilities ready whether or not I will proceed with Premier Spa & Pool. Later that I decided to proceed, he worked through several design iterations until it met my expectations and budget. The pool started and completed as I expected even though last year had so much rain that caused many disruptions to the schedule. The entire process was smooth and no surprises from excavation, plumbing, steel work, gunite and surface finish, except the pool concrete deck and drainage. I was not happy with the concrete sub-contractor and its owner Jay. I had them reworked several times to get the form and curve dimensionally correct and connect the drainage, while Jay never show up to manage his crew. I would have given five stars for this review, but because of the concrete pool deck experience I would give four stars. Premier as a whole was great to work with and all of their sub contractors were exceptional. They helped us to decide on things we didn't even know we wanted. We had a pool built by Premier pools 15 years ago and have had nothing but excellent things to say about them. However we are in the process of having our pool put in now. We were schedule to be done at the end of Februrary 2019.. We are now in June, 2019 and our pool is still not done. We can not pass inspections, we had foot prints in our cement and the plumbing is horrible and things have had to be redone due to unprofessional workmanship. I would not recommend them to ANYONE...This has been a horrible and stressful experience..... I want the night mare to be over with Premier Pools and Spas.... read more

Trying to work with them was a waste if time. We set up an appointment and the sales rep went through their process and designed a pool for us. We weren't happy with the overall design but we told him we would send photos via emails of more ideas so we could rework the design. I emailed photos out about two weeks after our appointment. A month went by when the sales rep called me to see if we had decided on the pool. I asked him if he had changed the design after seeing my email. He said he never saw the email. He asked me to send it again and he would call me with the new design. It's been almost a year and he still hasn't called me back. Premier pools ensured I will never again use contractors because of their sub-par performance. Was promised a pool in 2 months; it took well over 6 months (with heartbreak and frustration paving the road). My rep (unnamed only because Yelp removed my original review) was very responsive, right up until they got my money. Then he dodged my calls for weeks, giving me the justification of "I don't have an update for your pool, I will contact you when I do" when I finally did talk to him. Eventually I kicked him off the project after almost 2 months of no contact. He called very upset and frankly hostile that I had removed him. He claimed it was his family's business but that nothing was in his control - confused? Me too. Why was I dealing with him? The owner promised to "take care of me" but hand holding became a daily ritual (even with the owner working on it). Many things that were promised as included became addons or a fight to not pay more. I'm a reasonable guy, but this was a joke. as I mentioned, my review was removed for "security reasons" I ambe willing to bet someone paid to remove it. However...since they are making me repost, I can give an even better update: The accent wall they added had cracked within a month (yes I put water on it frequently even though PP assured me it would be fine forever). The accent wall further leached lime and other particulate onto the tiles and into the pool - I had asked if this would be a problem and if I needed to seal it. Again I was assured I was over reacting. To top everything off, the plaster looks terrible! Huge hand streaks everywhere - I was assured by PP that these would go away once everything "set up" Not a chance... Want a pool? Go elsewhere. I wash my hands of this mess. Let me say upfront that my wife and I are very happy with the final result; however, we hated just about everything leading up to it. Premier Pools & Spas in Salida is also owned by the same person that owns the one in San Jose, so check out those reviews as well. These are franchises and not owned by the corporate office in Sacramento. We started the process in August 2014 and chose Premier after interviewing six different pool contractors. We signed the contract in September, and they started work in the first week of October. When they first started excavation, the general foreman was onsite explaining the process and told us he was the 'go to' guy if we had any questions or concerns throughout the process. After that, we NEVER saw him again. Excavation, gunite, and tile were completed by the first week of November. So far, we hadn't had any major issues. After the tile was installed, we didn't see anyone until mid-February. During their 3 1/2 month hiatus, we received lien notices from the gunite contractor and had a very difficult time getting anyone from Premier to explain why it was taking so long or why the gunite contractor hadn't been paid yet. When we were able to speak to someone, we were given excuse after excuse. The equipment was finally installed in late February or early March leaving only the finish. There were several delays again and after being rescheduled four or five times, the finish was finally installed on April 22, 2015. The project was scheduled to be completed by early December, so it ended up taking about 4 1/2 months longer than we anticipated. Throughout the 3 1/2 month period where they all but disappeared, I was convinced that they were going to go out of business. I hired an attorney and filed a claim against Premier's bond only to find out there were quite a few claims already filed. I received my first and only apology from the owner in mid-April, but he never once offered to compensate me for my time and trouble or pay my attorney's fees. There is zero chance we would ever recommend Premier or use them again. read more

Update: old review deleted. A month ago we started having trouble with our pump making a lot of noise. We called Premier and talked to the new owners. Our pump was 20 days out of warranty according to the old owners records but not our notes since it took so long to get the pool in service and didn't run the pump a month after it was installed. The old owners were horrible, it took a year to get our pool build and up and running. But the new owners stepped up to the plate to make things right. They helped us out and replaced the pump and a part on the PV3 inground cleaning system. The new owners replied to every message, call and text to make sure the job was done. Thank you Premier Pools! Well, their customer service (at least at this office) is less than desirable. I walked in to the showroom, heard the loud door chime as I entered, and walked around for 15 minutes without a single representative greeting me or offering any type of assistance... all the while the girl in in the nearest office with the open door, and in direct line of sight, only looked over her computer once and then continued as if I wasn't even there. Yeah, I'll probably move on to the next pool builder. I can only imagine the nightmare that would follow if I paid $60k for a pool and then had any issues following... there'd be no one to assist me! A neighbor had one put in by this company and were so happy with the price and performance that we decided to actually get bids. We had three contractors come and bid the project, however Brandon at Premier really hit it out of the park in both is professionalism and in his knowledge of the industry. started off great ahead of schedule, then materials list we picked out and signed was lost. So wrong material was ordered losing a month on the build. the mason company they use was very good. however the concrete company was a nightmare. the pour seemed to go well crew was great. after a few days started noticing cracks everywhere. after 3 weeks was extremely dissatisfied and had them come look at it. the guy was very rude and unprofessional. they ended up having to cut a slab out and re pour 2 times due to the quality. to this day it is a dark grey compared to the natural we have everywhere else. they promised to fix cracks and never returned to follow through. Every time I walk out to pool all I can stare at is big cracks everywhere. And we poured a lot of concrete. do not use their concrete contractors . the company is 100% concrete. terrible and unprofessional!! still trying to get warranty company to fix. read more

My wife and I finally purchased our home (July 2017) and one of our dreams was to have our dream pool built. We reached out to many companies to come out and give us an estimate and drawing based on what we envisioned. We met with Casey who was our designer. We had given him our ideas when we met with him and he took the time to listen to all of the ideas. He also recommended other ideas as well. Casey was very personable and a blast to work with. During our time with him, he was also very honest. My wife and I hadn't even looked at the Yelp reviews about PPS but he took the time to explain to use what had happened with the previous owners and how the founder took back the Salida site to reestablish its name once again. After our initial visit with Casey, we jumped on to Yelp and started reading the reviews. I'll be honest... we were very scared. But something about Casey and his honesty and character, we decided to give PPS a chance. Within a week he came back with a drawing of what our pool was to look like. He nailed it! He was very detailed! We signed the contract a few days after. The project began on Oct. 4th, 2017. Prior to the project start date, I met with the supervisor who would run the project throughout its completion. His name was Drew. Drew was the guy now in charge. Any issues/concerns we had, we took it up with Drew. This dude is legit! Another great guy who got things done! Drew was responsible for meeting deadlines and giving us updates. Along with Drew, we also worked with Marie. Marie was the one contacting us and telling us if there were any weather delays or which steps were being done prior to the work. This was so that we weren't surprised if someone was coming to the house. Along the way, we met Jay, who did the concrete work. Jay was great! We reached out to him for his professional advice on some additional concrete work and he took the time to explain which made our decision much easier. I'd like to also mention a few more folks who made this journey very pleasant! I'd like to firstly give a shout out to the crew that worked on the project. PPS, if you read this, please pass our sincere thanks to the crew. Amber, who also filled us in on notifications. Amber is also the one that helped out in any warranty issues we ran into. Nothing major but she answered and responded to my emails about any concerns I had. Id' like to also thank Joey and his right-hand man (sorry forgot your name) who performed any warranty fixes and pool school after the project was completed. Lastly, Gabriel. This guy was dropping knowledge bombs on me in pool care, how things work on the equipment and etc... exceptional guy! And if I missed anyone else, we thank you for making our dreams come true! The process of this pool construction was fun and exciting. Our project lasted 10 weeks. This, of course, doesn't account for weather delays and curing time for Gunite. We filled the pool with water on Jan. 1st. 2018. We can't wait to jump in when the weather gets warmer!! Edit: I'd like to point this out... take the reviews with a grain of salt. Good or bad. I know I do. Just because something didn't go right doesn't mean one should give a bad review. Give the business a chance to make it right. The process from start to finish was a great experience, all of the contracted and in-house workers were great and take a lot of pride in doing their jobs. Our designer Neil C. came up with a great design and our Construction Manager Drew R. was awesome to work with through the entire build responding promptly and always taking time to answer our questions. Let me start off with their repair technician is a very knowledgeable and good person. That is where the good ends. The process was good, no nightmares here. They installed a deck drain, they said I'd is because of building code requirements. Not a problem. But, don't you think that they would actually hook up that drain to my current drainage system that is literally 8 inches away? No, they did not. They told me that I declined that "option". If it is a requirement, then how is it an option? They did, however, offer to plumb in my pool drain into my drainage system, for an extra price of course. I told them no on that, so they assumed that I did not want my required deck drain to drain into anything. Seriously, why would you install a drain that does not drain into anything? read more

Just finished up the bid and contract phase with them and I am very pleased. Unlike some companies they actually showed up for the bidding, answered all my questions and gave great insight. They also were ready to get the ball rolling without having us wait months for our pool. The contract phase was perfect as well. They have a beautiful show room and we had no issues. They drafted up exactly what we asked for without trying to upsell us on things we did not want or trying to make the pool bigger or fancier than what we were asking for. The office staff has been great at scheduling and updating us on permit and dates. Their employees have been helpful, responsive, and honest throughout the process. We break ground in a week and I will continue to update my rating as we progress. So far I couldn't be happier. We have now had our spa for almost a month. The delivery and installation men called to confirm and were on time. They were very respectful of my landscaping and the installation was flawless. They went over the filling and chemical usage with me until I understood. Thinking about using Premier Pools Modesto Salida or San Jose branch,First take a look at all of the Yelp reviews for both and read all of the consistent extremely bad reviews they have. You will then learn that they are one in the same company, utilizing all of the same subcontractors and providing extremely poor service. If you choose to use them after reading God help you, your entire family, friends and everyone else, because they will all have to listen to you scream on a daily basis. This is the worst company providing the worst service I have ever seen in my life. It started for us in in February of 2014 when we met with Premier and 3 other pool service companies to remodel our 22 year old pool. By far Premier provided the best presentation that I have seen. They beat all of the others out in price and talked about all of the upgraded equipment and material they use to build their pools. When we met with our representative Noah he was well dressed in Premier Company attire, was well spoken and seemed to listen very well. After thinking about all of the presentations we decided to go with Premier. We signed a contract within 2 weeks, with a plan for 4 payments at certain phases of the project. The contract stated an 8 to 10 week completion which I was happy with. we came up with a new design which we were also happy with and the process started within another 2 weeks or so. This is where everything came to a dead stop after the demolition of the deck and former waterfall. I will try to consolidate the timeframe for the purpose of conveying accurate information. In the first 6 weeks of this project Premier or their subs showed up 3 times, Yes 3 times in 6 weeks with a contract designed to finish in 8 to 10 weeks. This is when I knew we were in trouble. The entire first 6 weeks I made multiple calls to our sales rep Noah and Marie their " Scheduler". When I could reach them I was always promised they will get right on finding out what was going on. Days went by each time then I had to call back again and again and again. During the time I spoke with Noah I asked why there is not a project manager out here taking care of business. He assured me that he was the project manager and would be there at every major phase of construction which was entire B.S. he never showed up, EVER. Oh wait a minute, ill give him some credit, he showed up and asked for all of the scheduled payments to collect a check, the exact day it was due, even though no work was being done. Months went by with my wife and I begging for them to get working. They would always promise exact days that workers would show up and three quarters of the time they would be a no show. We could not plan our own life occurrences because we were always waiting for someone to show. I eventually called Michael Anderson who claimed to be one of the owners and fired Noah due to the fact that I was managing my own project which might have been a great thing because I was able to tell all of the subs when they showed up what we wanted. By this time we were 5 months into the project. Michael Promised that things would turn around and came through a couple times to organize certain phases, then it came to another stop. I think you get the picture by now, so ill cut to the chase, another 4 months went by until we got water flowing with some major arguments and multiple phone calls and organizing the subs myself. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because we are one of the fortunate ones who have water flowing in the pool. I have read numerous other reviews that talk about they still have a dirt hole in their backyards, my condolences to all of you. It took a bunch of attitude from us to get anything done. So here we are 9 months later and are only waiting for them to do some adjustments on the waterfall and finish a fitting for a bubbler. I now have heard rumor that Premier pools salida/modesto is no longer providing service or further construction for their customers meaning they could be out of business, I am not sure if this is true but all their voicemail boxes are full and no one will return my calls. If this is true I feel for all of the families that have it worse than us. If they are not, I warn all of you out there that are thinking about calling these idiots. I could go on and on about all of the promises they made us that were false and bad information but I won't , you should get it by now. If there was such a thing as a negative star, I would use it. In June 2015 we engaged Premier Pools to build our pool. The entire experience from start to finish was an unbelievable series of communication lapses from the people that were supposed to be managing our project. Work was scheduled, but people never showed up during the scheduled times, instead showing up when they weren't expected days or weeks past when the work was supposed to be completed. Our "project manager" was difficult to reach unless a payment was due, and when he was reached, he provided no useful information or made commitments that he did not follow through with. Worse, we received mechanics lien notices from two sub-contractors that had not been paid for work already completed. I have since learned that there was a third sub-contractor that to this day has never been paid for the work. We had paid 95% of the money owed but withheld the final 5% payment until they could provide proof of payment to the sub contractors we had received notices from. We never received this proof. And Premier stopped returning our calls, leaving the work incomplete. We were unsuccessful in getting Premier Pools to complete our project or prove that they paid the sub contractors despite almost 6 months and countless hours trying to work with them. We hired an attorney to attempt resolution with Premier but they never responded to any of the communication from the attorney. We also reached out to the office that oversees the Premier Pools franchises and did not receive a response from them either. I have never experienced such poor customer service from a company before or since dealing with Premier Pools. Given that they did manage to finish most of the work, we were able to pay to have the remaining work completed and now have a finished pool. However, it is a finished pool with no warranty. How a company like this can stay in business baffles me. Hopefully, this and the other poor reviews similar to mine will discourage anyone from putting their money and trust into Premier Pools and Spas. read more
