This was thru American Home Shield. My water heater is still under Manufacturer warranty but they want to replace the entire thing and charge me with $1,900 labor when it only needed parts to be replaced. For diagnosing they charged me $125 and AHS who referred them was $25. They also told me that AHS will not cover my water heater despite AHS advertising they cover all kinds of water heaters if they cannot fix it they will replace for free. So both them and AHS beware. Luckily I had 3 free estimates much more reasonable than his. I got a new water heater under warranty same day and labor with less than half Premium One quoted. So just place your monthly American home shield fee in either high interest savings account or invest it in an ETF . I cancelled American Home Shield and do not need Premium One's services. read more

James has done a number of plumbing jobs at our house over the last year from minor installs like water filtration to cutting through slab and replacing drain pipes under the foundation. Very knowledgeable, experienced, honest, and likable person. His rates are in line with pretty much anyone else or better, and comes with the confidence knowing the work is being done at the most thorough level. He has also identified minor issues for us that we weren't aware of and repaired them at no added cost - simple things like adding a clamp or noticing a missing cap. He was able to detect the leak and capped off the line to prevent further water damage while waiting for approval to re-route or re-pipe. James was very professional, easy to reach by phone or text, and gave good advice to repipe the whole house to prevent further potential slab leak issues! We are very happy with the work James and his team did replacing a section of our main sewer line & installing new clean outs. James was punctual, communicative, efficient and professional, and his pricing was fair for the scope of work. He showed us the issue inside our pipe on the camera, explained the problem, and, without being asked to, installed the replacement pipe in a way that is an upgrade, and will make it easier to diagnose and repair any future problems. He and his team treated our property with care, removing & replacing the sod in the lawn that had to be excavated so that you can barely tell, and they put a tarp down to protect the other grass from the dirt they dug up. He communicated throughout the process, showing us what he was doing, and after the repair was complete, James again showed me as he ran the camera through the whole main sewer line, in both directions, checking that it was clear. Premium One was originally sent out by our home warranty company, American Home Shield. It turned out that the problem was not covered, because the issue was outside of our home's foundation, which meant we had to pay for the repair out of pocket. I noticed the negative reviews tend to be people who were also in this situation, but that really is an issue with the home warranty, not the plumber. We are very happy with Premium One, and will be happy to hire them again for future plumbing needs. read more

These guys came via our home warranty policy to fix our tankless water heater. We were very impressed with their prompt, friendly, efficient service. They even wear shoe coverings walking into your house! Would definitely recommend. Great communication & fast solution to our problem. Five stars across the board right here, folks! Plumber came, called me, didn't look at the crawl space, made a false claim to my home warranty insurance stating he went into the crawl space and left. Fortunately the AC guy came out a few days prior through the same home warranty, and his report contradicts plumbers false assessment and pictures were taken. This company commitment insurance fraud. I was worried the leak would necessitate him have to cut into a wall but he was able to fix and correct the issue (which was stemming from some bad valves) without having to cut into any walls. Shoe covers were work to avoid any mess coming into me home. I called this company for leaks, waited over 1 week before the plumber came, After 1 week, James came and was rude, very unprofessional, he came and took a quick look at the leak and left without saying anything. I called the company many times and no answer. Finally, I was able to text them and they replied, they estimated $585 to replace a simple kitchen faucet and toilet ring. I called another plumber and they charged me $280 to fix the same. Premium One charges double and has bad customer service. I will not recommend this company. read more

I wish that I could deliver the same enthusiasm of other reviewers, but my experience has made me feel annoyed, un-prioritized and dismissed by this company. I have been having a little hell with plumbing. The dish washer is down, the mini bar had standing water and the pull out faucet handle broke loose from it's hose on the kitchen sink. That caused me to cancel cooking dinner for an out of town guest. Premium One was sent out by AHS warranty service for what seemed like a simple enough job...to replace the broken spray handle of the pull-out kitchen faucet...so I could at least, wash my dishes by hand. The plumber took my check ($) and my spray handle, told me he would return the next day. I took more time off from work because he couldn't tell me what time he would return. When most of the business day passed by and I hadn't heard from him, I called them. Of course, he tried to make me doubt that I distinctly heard him say that he was coming the next day and then shared that the faucet brand was discontinued. I know he said it because I asked if he knew what time he would come. He said no. He continued claiming that he is following the 'protocol' of the insurance company, which says that they have to attempt to replace the exact faucet brand. (which they already knew is discontinued) So, to me? That means to just replace the damn faucet with another comparable brand. #1. So far, I have been waiting for 7 days! #2. I have received no follow-up progress report from the company. #3. There was no consideration made that I had to take off 1.5 days from working to be here. #4. I feel that this should have been a fairly easy and quick repair. #5. I finally had to break down and just stretch the hose from under the kitchen cabinet to get the dishes cleaned In closing, the only reason I gave 2 stars is because the plumber did snake the bar sink and encouraged that the dishwasher should be covered under normal wear-n-tear, by the insurance warranty. Based upon this experience, I am hoping that a much more efficient company is sent to handle the dishwasher job. read more

Our water heater stopped making hot water. Tried repeatedly to light the pilot but did not work so we called our home warranty. James showed up to diagnose our water heater. Was quick and efficient. I had a circulating pump that failed and I contact American Home Shield for it's repair/replacement. They sent James from Premium One...I see why they call it "premium". James is the owner, and he came out to replace it...The first one was bad from the factory, the second one had a control box with a broken housing...the third one installed today...and so far it works. James has been here FOUR times to get this thing working, and I couldn't have asked for anyone nice or more professional than him. These problems were not at all caused by him but rather faulty units sent by the manufacturer. James is amazing. Always welcomed in my home. Thanks James! You're the best! read more

Not surprisingly, plumbing emergencies always seem to happen on weekends or holidays. Unfortunately, we had one this past holiday weekend, and were assigned to "Premium One Plumbing " by AHS Home Warranty for our water main leak (which had forced us to shut off the main water). I would never recommend or use "Premium One Plumbing" again....they are about as far from "premium" as you can get! Also, it's basically just one guy ("James") who has a plumbing license, a generic plain white van and a PO Box at his local UPS Store in Montrose. Starting with my initial phone call with "James", he was incredibly rude, condescending and clearly annoyed at being bothered on a holiday weekend...he certainly was not interested in actually working on a holiday (despite his website's multiple claims that he offers "24/7 Emergency Service"). He simply said "It's a holiday - I don't work on holidays". Rather than agreeing to a time to come to our house, he told me to call AHS to make sure that our water main leak was covered under the warranty or not, and to then call him back to schedule a time to come out. So I did just that, and AHS told me the leak was covered...so I called him right back. But he didn't bother answering the phone, and he didn't call me back until the next day (more than 18 hours later). I guess not working on holidays also means not returning phone calls -- despite specifically telling me to call him right back. When he finally came to our house, he spent a total of about 5 minutes looking at the water pouring up out of the concrete just beside our house, and looking at the aboveground pipes. He then proclaimed that "this can't be repaired - you have galvanized pipe, and that cannot be repaired like copper -- so you're going to have to dig it all up and replace everything...repair isn't an option"." He was referring to a stretch of concrete three feet wide and 50 long! Based on nothing more than simply at the water coming up, and visually tracing some of our above ground pipes (which were not themselves leaking). Not believing him, I asked "James" if he had a leak detector or something else he could use to know where exactly the actual leak was, since the water was coming out of several places, including right next to the house. He said that would be a waste of time and money -- but he told me I could hire one (on my own) if I wanted to. "James" then called AHS, and told them (without ever having used a leak detector, never finding the actual source of the leak, not knowing anything about what pipes we may have under the concrete...and after having seen water pouring out of the ground in multiple places just 1 inch from our outer walls!....that he concluded that our water leak was "outside the boundary of the house's foundation" -- and based on that, AHS told him that none of it would not be covered under the warranty! But before I could talk to the AHS rep myself, he quickly hung up the phone. Incredulous, I asked him why he didn't let me talk to AHS -- and he claimed that they would be calling me right now to explain. But because he already had our $75 service fee (like a deductible for warranty) he refused to wait for AHS to call (and after a few heated words, he drove away with our check). That was $75 for 5-10 minutes of "work" and making one stupid phone call! Fortunately, I've now found a REPUTABLE plumber and leak detection company, and I will have our water leak repaired correctly. I wish I had not wasted my time and money with "Premium One Plumbing" (although with that horrible AHS warranty service, you don't get any say in who they assign). read more
