Fantastic dinner at Prescotts Provisions! The space feels nice without being fancy, and though we came in the winter I'm sure it's that much nicer in the summer with the patio and windows open. After ordering drinks, we got the bread service and beets, both which exceeded expectations. My husband got the hanger steak which was perfectly medium rare and was served with a crispy potato and creamy béarnaise. And I got the bigoli pasta with lots of lobster and a sauce that was to die for. I'd definitely return for the pasta alone. Wow.... I have never been to Prescott's Provisions before and I feel like now that I have been, I need to tell everyone about it. We made a bar reservation for yesterday at 7:30 for New Year's Eve and every part of my experience was enjoyable. We started out with the risotto for an appetizer. When it came out, I was hesitant because I've never had truffles before, but considering we were entering the new year, I had a strong calling to just try something new, and I'm so glad I did. DELICIOUS. There wasn't a since risotto left in that dish. Next, for main courses, I got the free range chicken and my husband opted for the NY Strip. Again, not a single drop left for either of us. Every bite was perfectly seasoned with incredible flavors that I can't even begin to describe. I loved every bite. Lastly, I must compliment the vibes. It's definitely and upscale restaurant, however it was so chill. Relaxing lighting with a classy ambiance, but still had a comfy and welcoming aura. Prescott's Provisions is located in Tonawanda along the water, and offers high quality food with a view. I finally tried Prescott's after living nearby for a few years. The menu is quite pricey, but the quality of food is very high. It offers a variety of food, everything from tapas to pasta to fish. We were a party of 6 and when we arrived the restaurant was quite empty. We made reservations in advance and I suggest everyone else does too. It took about an hour for our food to arrive. We had reservations at 5.45 so this didn't bother me, but just be prepared to wait. When the food arrived, it looked and tasted beautiful. I had the chestnut ravioli and it was honestly the best pasta I've had since eating nidi in Orvieto, Italy. I also had the basque cheesecake, which is one of my favorite desserts, and it was fantastic. Very creamy. Prescott's deserves a 5/5 stars simply for the food. However, I would give it maybe a 3/5 for the service and noise. Our waitress was honestly quite rude and condescending. I understand the food and beverage industry is hard work, but her attitude was uncalled for. The seating area is completely surrounded by glass windows so it is very loud. Had the absolute pleasure of dining at Prescott's Provisions for my recent birthday dinner! I've heard so many people rave about the food here, I knew it would be a good place to celebrate. I was able to make a reservation about a month or so in advance with no issues. We sat on their patio, which is enclosed and has heaters on for the winter. It was a nice change in pace from just eating inside! I was here with four other people and we all got something different for our main. We started with their focaccia bread and one of their special small plates for the night, both were delicious. I opted for the radiatori verde for my main. You could tell how fresh everything was and I loved it! Next time, though, I definitely want to get a seafood entree since they're known for it. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy a nice dinner -- I don't think you can go wrong with Prescott's. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and they change up their menu pretty routinely, so I know I'll be back to try more. read more

SO and I were in town and stopped for dinner at this low-key restaurant nestled along the Gateway Harbor area. We started off with the Mediterranean Octopus, which came with a tasty romesco sauce, and the Yellowfin Crudo, which came atop an eggplant caponata sauce...both were light and excellent starters. We also shared the roasted scallops and the swordfish schnitzel. The scallops were perfectly seared and were accompanied by a tasty squash puree and risotto, which all blended well together. The swordfish schnitzel was the standout of the night...there was a nice crust that formed on the outside and the celery root puree was the perfect accompaniment. We ended with a chocolate dessert that was rich and decadent. Bottom line, the service was attentive and the food was on the money. Went to Prescott's on Saturday evening with my girlfriend to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We did book a reservation in advanced and i'm glad we did because it was quite busy. The service was great but a bit slow. The staff was really friendly and the ambience is very nice. We started with some drinks which were good but nothing special. For appetizers we ordered the caviar tater tots, raw oysters, and the Honeynut squash " bruschetta". The tots were good but a bit overrated in my opinion and the oysters were excellent but are small. The real star was the Honeynut squash " bruschetta" which was filling and the flavors complement each other very well. Will order it again next time. For mains, we opted for the wagyu daily special which was phenomenal albeit a bit pricey. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce was not overpowering. Good portion. The prime hanger steak was also well cooked and served with a great combination of mushrooms and potatoes. For dessert, we finished our meal with the Brown Butter Cake which if you like the favor of creme brulee you will enjoy. Its served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. We are coffee lovers so the espresso layered cake was an incredible finish to a fantastic meal. Overall, we really enjoyed coming to Prescott's Provision. We will certainly be back! read more

I can't recommend this place enough! While it is pricey, it's reflected in the quality. They even have a designated pastry chef who create and switches up the menu seasonally/periodically. We went on a very busy Saturday night so we certainly expected it to be crowded, but the service was very slow. Our server seemed to have a larger than appropriate section. We had been sitting for around 15 minutes before any water came and 30 minutes by the time we put in a drink order. The specialty cocktail was Okay, but tasted pretty strong of matcha. If you like Matcha, you'll probably love it. I tried it bc it was the only vodka option....My husband order the Agave Au Poivre drink and he seemed pleased with it. The ambiance was nice enough but we were seated on the makeshift patio along the windows which had a pretty cold breeze coming in the entire time. The patio had heaters and I thought that was a great touch, but certainly when making a reservation you should be asked if you want indoor or outdoor seating. Several people in our section had coats on. All in all, we were there two hours, which was far too long for what we ordered and expected. What I can rave about is the food though. Outstanding apps, octopus was delicious, tuna crudo rocked my world, and the tater tots were everything I hoped for. After that we split a burger, which was super solid, and we paired it with a nice beer. We have been wanting to come here and our anniversary was the perfect opportunity. All I can say is, Wow! The atmosphere, menu, drinks, and service were all amazing. We started with the cheddar popovers. They were hot, crisp and perfect. The accent of cheddar was perfect with the crème fraiche butter. I've never met a popover that I didn't like! Next up was possibly one of the best dishes I've had in a very long time. Pressed watermelon, prosciutto, arugula, almonds and feta with a touch of chili oil. The melon was extra sweet from the compression process and it played perfectly with the saltiness of the prosciutto and feta. The chili oil was subtle and not too hot but added a different and surprising element to this updated classic dish. The sweet corn aranchini were also very good. The pistachio was a nice update in the pesto and the accompaniments made this a lovely summer dish. It was pretty hard to stand out after the previous dish. The flavor of the octopus was good and it was interesting to try it with the romesco sauce and chick peas. I thought the texture was slightly chewy and it threw me off a little bit. Overall though good flavors. Finally we had the grilled branzino. The fish was delicious and perfectly cooked. The eggplant was different and the salsa verde went perfectly with the dish. Prescott's Provisions is consistently, in my opinion, among the best restaurants in the Buffalo Niagara area. The drink service is superb with a handful of truly unique and even special wines, and allocated liquor with which they made fantastic cocktails. I think their pasta dishes are the best, and the pasta scene is very competitive among several great restaurants in the area. And despite not specializing in pasta, they hang with the best. This was my favorite pasta dish there yet (pictured). But my partner consistently gets whatever steak or chop is on the menu and it's always been wonderful and perfectly cooked. I love the space, a remade garage turned into a sparse yet very classy dining room and semi open kitchen. I love watching them cook! A very talented and well-oiled machine. Don't sleep on the dessert, either! They've made an interesting tropical take on sticky toffee pudding with coconut ice cream the last few times I've been there and it's to die for. I've heard plenty about this place from friends that live up in the area but it always seemed like there were too many good restaurants close to downtown to travel up there. Go!! If you have the chance, go! An awesome set up, great decor, very new everything. Parking was a little chaotic but just have to park down the street sometimes. Appetizer I ordered some fresh bread and this could have been a full meal! Perfect for 4 people to split up. Striploin (ordered medium) was fantastic. TONS of food and I saved nearly 1/3rd of it to bring home which seldomly happens. Just as good the next day too. My girlfriend ordered the Bigoli and I was a little jealous after tasting some of it. As fresh as can be. Delicious and might order it myself when I go back there. The bill will be worth what you pay for here. Definitely make a reservation if you're going on a popular date night. I only have two restaurants that I frequent, and recommend to others. I am proud to say, Prescott Provisions is the proud owner of my third choice. PP is located in Tonawanda right across from the canal. They have outdoor seating and the views are amazing. Just a note make reservations early, because these seats fill up fast. Don't worry if you missed out on sitting outside. You can still enjoy watching the walkers, bicyclist, or the boats from the inside. Tim was our server and he did a great job. His personality is fun and engaging. The way he explains the entree's and the cocktail selections. Is on another level. When you get your entrees or drinks, it's exactly how he described it to be. For this evening we ordered- Brussel sprouts- nice and crispy flavored just right. I was nervous about the mustard seeds, because they can be overwhelming at times. But that wasn't the case here, it was a nice touch to the dish. Lamb ribs (special)- This was a appetizer and it was quite tasty. If you like Asian foods, you will like the soy bbq sauce they use to glaze the ribs. I definitely was licking my finger tips on these. Wood roasted chicken sausage- I love polenta so I had to order this dish. The sausage has a light flavor to it, and it was just ok. But for me, I feel it's out of place to be a dinner entree. This dish would be perfect for a breakfast or a brunch entree. Smoked lamb shank- Literally, with the twist of the bone the lamb shank deconstructs into a mountain of meat. Mixed with the bbq lentils, every bite was delicious. The bbq flavor was not overpowering. They almost reminded me of pork and beans, but more subtle. In all the PP was really good..I'm actually looking to make another reservation right now. I suggest you do the same soon. read more

I don't often return to a restaurant unless it's good. I went back to Prescott's because it was...and I was rewarded with the worst experience ever. It was not a busy night, just a usual workday evening crowd. The waiter, one of the rudest, however, insisted that when we ordered appetizers and drinks, needed to order the entire dinner. Apparently "the new rule" was the entire order needed to be entered--considering we ordered 4 appetizers that needed us to estimate portion sizes and hunger. Next, the appetizer with beef tartare, which was new on the menu, came with a deep fried pork skin that hard plastic-like pieces in it. They could not be eaten and I told the waiter it was an issue. He said that's how it must be eaten--like he was an expert at the dish and that we were foolish for expecting it to be edible. He was treating me and my wife like this was the first time we were at a restaurant, ever, and that asking for edible bread or crackers in place of this plastic bites was not normal. My tooth crown broke as a result and I am not kidding. Finally, I asked about whether the Rye in my cocktail could be different and what options they had, and he said it couldn't. All in all, a horrible experience. Being who we are, we paid and left. And being as we are, will never support this establishment again. You shouldn't either. If you respect your teeth and expect a modicum of decent service, or at least edible food where the restaurant doesn't pretend to be doing you a favor, then go to an other restaurant. Around the corner is barbecue place that does it right. And there are plenty others who understand what food and food service means. These people don't deserve your dollar! read more

I appreciated seeing a somewhat diverse group of guests--it was refreshing and added a nice touch to the atmosphere. I brought my spouse here a few months ago for a special occasion, hoping for a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, it fell short in several ways. My spouse ordered the scallops entrée, which was beautifully plated but shockingly small--just THREE scallops for $45. It felt more like an appetizer than a main course, and left us both disappointed. I ordered a chicken dish, which was decent, but not filling either. By the end of the meal, neither of us felt satisfied, which was incredibly deflating for what was meant to be a celebratory night. To top it off, when I asked if I could order a pizza to go--something simple to make up for how hungry I still was--the server gave me a look like I had three heads. I left feeling really judged. The weather was beautiful so we opted to sit outside. Ordered the arancini and artichokes to start. The arancini were delicious and fried to perfection! I thought the sweet corn complemented them well. I didn't really care for the artichokes because I'm not a big fan. I ordered the salmon entree medium to well done. It was delicious and I thought the carrots and red quinoa went really well with it. The salmon wasn't fishy at all which is a pet peeve of mine. Since my first experience with Prescott's, I've been back for dinner twice and I can genuinely say that the food here is fantastic. I also like that the pizza options on the menu give you an option for a budget-friendly meal, vs all the large plates which would definitely run your bill over 100 bucks in a hurry. I recently came here with some new-found friends and we ordered to share: - Brussel Sprouts - with bits of bacon, walnuts and pickled mustard seed. One in our party was allergic to walnuts, but they accidentally still brought it out. Luckily, we were able to catch it before he ate it and they apologized and brought him out a portion and let us keep the wrong one (which was a nice gesture), since we could still eat it - just not him. - Cows Milk Burrata - delicious little cheese ball with smoked and fermented chile pepernota that it swims in served with toasted bread. A fun little app to share! - Charred Spring Asparagus Salad - a small, light and nice portion for us to get our appetite wet before the pizzas came through. We got the mushroom & margherita pizza to share between the four of us. The mushroom pizza was the winner. The 'za was good, although I wish it was in the oven for just two minutes longer to give it that crisp. It's tough to balance burning the dough with the crisp, but it just barely missed the mark in my eyes. All in all, we spent about 80 for the 4 of us for a nice night out (no drinks), including tip -- which was really reasonable for this. We asked to be seated on the patio by the water, but I sort of regretted it because it was SO LOUD in there due to one party next to us. I would have preferred the quieter ambiance inside, so just be aware if the patio is enclosed - it might be really loud! Our server, Tim C -- was INCREDIBLE! He's really the reason for the 5-stars. Came here on a Tuesday night with a few friends. My friend made the reservation and they were able to accommodate us a little late and a plus 2 to our party and I'm so glad they could! The restaurant was full but the tables were distance and the staff worse masks. The patio can be a little loud but didn't affect our meal at all. We chose to share a few dishes and pizzas as a table of 4. I really enjoyed the Brussel sprout salad but it does come with walnuts and a person in our party is allergic and so we asked for without and they were able to make it for us sans walnuts. The asparagus salad was my second favorite, although the portion sizes only left a small taste to share between 4 our waiter Tim was incredibly accommodating when we asked which apps were best to share between us all. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and food, attentive and overall made the dinner that much nicer! The pizzas were a nice wood oven style which I often crave and I enjoyed the Margherita but would love to see some creativity with them! We had a reservation for 4 and arrived early. The hostess didn't say hello or greet us in any way, she just said to follow her to our table. Despite my inlaws moving a little slowly, she didn't slow down to wait on the way to the table on the far side of the outdoor patio. We were sat next to another four top that was so loud, we couldn't hear eachother, yet the majority of the patio was not full at 6:30, we didn't need to be next to a loud party. Our waiter came by, took our drink orders but didn't take our food orders when the drinks came out so we had to wait. He rattled off the specials and took our order - other than very quick, cursory stops, we barely saw him the rest of the night. When we were given water and refills, there wasn't any friendliness. My husband and I both got fish dishes - there was maybe 8 halves of cherry tomato and half a dozen paper thin slices of squash in one and a little potato chowder in the other, which was really disappointing for how expensive the dishes were ($42 and $48). Additional vegetable sides weren't an option on the menu, so while fish was really good, we expected more than a small piece without much else. Considering the location (our view was of an abandoned warehouse even if there's a river nearby) this place cannot justify lacking service, unfriendly staff, small portions and high prices. read more
