Came here because I saw a tiktok about it but didn't meet my expectations. It was waaaay smaller than I thought. It felt very cramped. PRESS coffee is known for their beautifully, natural lit environment and quality coffee. The building is so unique, lined with so many windows. It's such a cozy place. The outside is so cute and always decorated. Inside, there's limited crowded tables. You'll have to be lucky to score a spot most of the time, but they have outdoor seating as well. The coffee is pretty pricy, but it's delicious. They do a good job. Lots of seasonal flavors to pick from too. After reading some good reviews for Press Coffee, we decided to give it a try. We love good coffee and Press has good coffee and latte art is a plus. I really liked the Green house structure and decor. The shop has a nice vibe and seems like a good place to stay and read or study. They have a good selection of treats, such as muffins, bars, scones, etc. I believe in good customer service and this is where they lost two stars. The easiest thing for staff to do is greet the customers, smile and say thanks as you pay and tip. This is Barista 101. None of this happened. Press Coffee has so much potential to be a great "Go To" place, but they have some work to do on customer service. read more

Let me start off by saying the coffee and decor are fantastic! Those two attributes could have easily earned them five stars. My almond milk latte was delicious! The greenhouse design was original and tastefully done. There is not a lot of seating inside and all seats were taken when we arrived at 9:45 AM. There is plenty of room outside, but unfortunately, not enough chairs. Why did I knock off two stars? For the two baristas that were working. No "welcome" or "good morning" when we arrived, no smiles, and no "thank you" or "have a nice day" when we left. Nothing...not a word except for the call out of our drinks. I'm sorry if you are having a bad day, but how much effort does it take? If not, it's not cool to be snobby. Great baristas are a dime a dozen. I've had Press bookmarked on Yelp for as long as I remember. Alas, today was the day I finally visited. VERY cute little spot with lots of greenery and aesthetically pleasing decor. There's an upstairs seating area as well. Tight spot but there's indoor and outdoor seating. We got a French Press coffee, a Mocha Latte and an almond croissant. Drinks were really good. We're typically disappointed by cafe bakery items but their croissant was actually pretty amazing. It looks like they're no longer doing to cute latte art and utilizing reusable mugs and such. Came here with a friend after finishing our 11 finals lol we definitely needed some healing so we chose to try this place out. I personally am a plant mom so I absolutely loved the aesthetics here. So many cool and unique plants and I love how the whole ceiling was windows. We got some food items too and it was so delicious! Simple menu, and excellent coffee! The flavoring for their lattes is not overly sweet or flavorful, which is great because you can still taste the coffee. The coffee also had a unique, almost smoky flavor to it. It was really good! The shop is very cute and unique. There is a ton of natural light, but not too much indoor seating. There seems to be a lot of outdoor seating though, and plenty of parking. To me, PRESS Coffee is the quintessential hidden hipster coffee bar that is within walking distance of a college campus. They're serving up freshly brewed coffee and espresso drinks as well as pastries in a cute A-frame shop. Located blocks away from the University of the Incarnate Word and in the same shopping plaza as the Hayden, PRESS coffee invites you in to grab something on the go (if you know this hidden gem exists) or to sit and relax solo or with friends to study, work, and gossip. The interior seating tends to be quieter, so if you want to chat it up I'd recommend going to a table outside of respect for others. The menu is straight and to the point with coffee, espresso drinks, and chais, and they also feature a list of syrups that you can add to your beverage to include my personal favorite: lavender. It's not a strong, overpowering flavor but it compliments the espresso well in a latte. If I'm in the neighborhood and I've got a hankering for coffee I'll stop here for the treat of the drinks and the atmosphere that PRESS creates. read more

Stumbled upon this place looking for a place to eat after walking around Brackenridge Park. It was a nice surprise. The whole area is like the cutest greenhouse coffee place. It has an A line structure that is a sunken and you have to go down these stairs to go to the entrance. I would have loved to stay and have coffee inside but it was crowded and there were limited seating especially since you have to social distance. I do like the uniqueness of their menu. I had the Raspberry Pecan Tea latte. It was decent, nothing to brag about. Funky little building that is practically all roof, with the north half of it tall, steeply sloped and all-glass. Inside are tables chairs and stools in a light and airy 2-level space, with a couple of (presumably) comfy chairs. Nice parklike setting outside in The Boardwalk retail/office plaza, with a few tables set around the shop. But I couldn't find a bike rack in the plaza to lock my bike to. S.A. Press is always the best place sit and enjoy a friends company or even catch up on computer work. It's in an old greenhouse style building so the natural light is everywhere, a good thing. I can't wait to pull up to this place when it's raining one day. I got the strawberry matcha which is a summer seasonal drink so go get it while you can, I also ordered a cheddar sausage kolache, also pretty good, they heat it up for you. They had a variety of foods and pastries in their case. Baristas were pretty nice, answered any questions I had, offered me the strawberry matcha. 4.4 stars. I really did enjoy the coffee and the ambiance of this coffee shop but I do wish there was a little bit more space inside. Ambiance 4.5: definitely a really cool design they got going on here especially with the greenhouse vibe they got going on. It was pretty neat. Coffee 4.5: definitely seemed like the selection was pretty good and the coffee I had did taste very good. However, they didn't have sugar free flavors, which to some people might not matter at all so for those people you can bump the coffee to 5.0. Space/Study vibe 4.1: definitely wish it was more spacious and just had more seating and stuff to kind of study and chill without feeling like your crammed. Service 5.0: the staff was very nice and even recommend there favorite drinks. Overall it's 4 stars bc Yelp doesn't offer half star ratings yet otherwise it'd be 4.5, but if you want a good coffee and to chill a little bit with a friend this is a dope spot. PRESS is just down the street from my work so on a particularly nice day at lunch I figured I'd stop by for a pick me up. Right away the building itself has such a charm to it (could you imagine spending a thunderstorm inside those glass panels?? A dream!) Upon entering I became immediately aware of how small the inside was, not a huge issue but with only a few people inside, getting to the register while another person was standing by waiting for their coffee was a tough task of "excuse me's" and maneuvering. The person who took my order- a matcha latte with oat milk- was super friendly and had a laid back personality and not long after my order he personally walked my coffee over to my table and delivered my drink accompanied by a "Here is your latte, Samantha!" which was another charming touch. I took my drink outside to sit in their surrounding patio area and it hit the spot perfectly! We visited on Saturday, 11/11/23 a couple of hours before they closed. The order-line moved quickly and the cashier was friendly and helpful. I ordered the vanilla latte with oat milk. We were fortunate enough to snag the last pastry (a magic bar) in the display case. And, while the magic bar wasn't my first choice this time - it will be next time. It was so delicious! A bit crumbly/messy - but delicious. Seating is limited inside, but while waiting for the coffee, we managed to get a small counter height table with 2 stools.
