They were rude when I'd ask questions The screwed up my filling to where it hurt so bad and I had to come BACK and get a whole new filling(barely even an apology) The second attempt filling has held on fine it's been like a year almost, but when they put it in they "accidentally" cut my lip open quite a bit while I was numb.(again no apology) Just literally everything about this place including the front desk people just wasn't welcoming, I gave them a chance though and paid the price for being non judgmental, won't EVER ignore the first impression again. read more

Would absolutely avoid this office for any new patients. From the attitude Mr Sir at the front desk gave me on our very first call to set up as a new patient all the way down to the office manager... by far the worst experience at any dental office I've ever had. A requested an appointment online then got a call to get setup by the guy at the front desk. Idk why he is working in any healthcare or customer based job because the attitude and nonchalant could give a f less about anyone other than himself.. wild. That should have been a red flag but I'm one to give someone the benefit. I attended my first appt to have a tooth extracted & was met with the same attitude upon arrival. After my eval by the dentist I was told I needed bone graft & membrane to close the hole as it was in my sinus path. I was met with a $1050 bill. The guy at the front desk was the one who came into the room to provide finance options. He was half awake talking about how he just took a nap, even the Dr seemed concerned. They worked down $100 for the bill but it was still basically $1000 with insurance for the extraction. I gave my card and was told it was a one time payment & that I needed to create my account to setup the autopay arrangement- that was a lie. My card was stored and auto drafted. 4 days later, with one sneeze- my stitches ripped out. I called the dental office in a panic & was yet again- disregarded. I told him what happened, the placed me on hold and came back stating that basically since I had another set of stitches and wasn't in any significant pain to just deal with it. To which, all were assumptions by him because he didn't even ask any of those questions to me. I immediately drove to another dental office & told them what happened. I seen immediately, they took X-rays & told me that it was not in-fact in path of my sinus so I did not actually need the membrane or bone graft. By the 1 week mark, I sneezed again & the membrane and a large portion of the bone graft fell along with the other set of stitches. I was informed to come back in 3 weeks to have the stitches taken out, didnt last but 4-7 days. I told my new dental office what was going on here and was told immediately how shady their office really is. When I called to talk to the office manager about a partial refund as I was not able to return as I moved an hour away- was met with attitude and blame on me for not speaking up further with the guy at the front desk. I got in to be looked over and confirmed yes- it all did come out. The options I was given was to go back into surgery or a future credit to my account for other procedures. I made a payment to my account only to find the auto draft was also charging my account. I asked to make a payment in office to avoid having the charge a few days later but wasn't informed that it would just re evaluate the remaining total and continue to draft anyways. The hostility in the air was soooo thick and uncomfortable. I don't want to return to be met with the attitude because I asked for a reasonable resolution. No accountability, no apology, no decent communication. If you can credit for future treatment, you can do it to a prior owed balance. Period. Dosnt make any sense to come back to an office that has really shitty attitudes over something that's not my fault and have been trying to work to a resolution. So not only was I charged for something that was not medically necessary- but then when their shit job failed... no reimbursement for it. read more

I scheduled a new patient visit and cleaning. A couple days after scheduling I received a call and was asked to change my appointment because the dentist was not going to be in. I didn't think much of it at the time but this should have been the first sign that this appointment was going to be questionable. When I got to my appointment, I was taken back fairly quickly and the assistants were really nice. After going to the exam room and within 5 minutes speaking with the dentist, I felt like they were only trying to sell me things. They were pushing a mouth guard that they said would be $350 out of pocket, which I said I may consider at a different time. They also refused to offer me a regular cleaning. They claimed I have early periodontitis due to my last cleaning being earlier in the year and my only option was the preventative cleaning which would have cost me $500 out of pocket. This also contradicted what the dentist said earlier as she said she was not concerned with the health of my teeth or gums and that I had no to minimal bleeding when she was measuring my gums. Not sure how I went from no concern on the health of my gums and teeth to early periodontitis within a matter of 5-10 minutes. They had also ran a bacteria test and when I received the results the following week they came back in the healthy - low risk state for periodontitis. When I called to discuss this with the dentist, they told me that they would only discuss at my next appointment. I will not be booking a follow up with this office and will be going elsewhere. read more

I scheduled a dental cleaning- they wouldn't even do that because it "wouldn't help my situation"... Absolutely awful place- not sure how they are in business. Do not go! They lie. SCAM! They lie on phone & at office that no Xrays will be taken, no charge or submit to my insurance or me. They dont want my current digital Xrays. Called 3 times to be sure. I did not want to use my insur limits on codes for exam or any Xrays -plus the radiation. Just a free limited exam on 1 tooth- to extract, maybe bone graft. Not implant! Phone male stated "NO Xrays will be done, lmtd exam is free, will not submit or charge my insur or you". At appt -they are not friendly & insist on a CBCT Xray! (for implants- not there for) Sloppy tech gal asked if I hit the machine, then took bitewings, too! Never saw any Xray they took, incl the CBCT- they insisted on! It likely did not work or she did not take it?! DDS Nechampkin did not show any Xrays, did not check, tell, or do any exam! She asked how I felt, acted arrogant, uncaring, stated the extraction was "above her level". The Oral Surgeion can do it. Got the estimate for $over $1400 (after insur) for a basic 1 tooth extract & option bone graft. Then, they did bill insur: limitd exam (code D0140- I did not want to use- I told them many times. Office gal said she changed code) bite wings (code D0270) billed to insur, CBCT Xray (D0367) insur denied denied. Plus. practice puts you in a billing portal- tried to say I owe $200 and insur already paid remaining $700! Insurance did not get bill or pay anything! Now, I have to waste time getting them to remove it from insur. Wasted time, Xrays-never shown to me (even after I asked many times) radiation, no exam by dentist, false sales pitches to get you in. read more

1. Trick you into a special program for periodontics disease which requires you to come once every quarter. Charge $600-$800 calling it one time. 2. Each time, keep pushing for other 'procedures' that are high margin. 3. If you stay strong enough, then after 3 times tell you cannot clean your teeth till you perform the more expensive procedures (not sure this is legal) 4. Let me start by saying I post more positive reviews than negative because I understand that most people will only post the negative. However, i prefer to give credit where credit is due. However this place is absolutely disgusting! The only reason they get one star is because their staff is at least friendly. The lady doctor I had only cares about taking your money. I went in for my first appointment got all my x-rays and some dental check and they said they wouldn't clean my teeth! I didn't get an exact price but after all the things she listed that I would need to have for a general cleaning to happen it was definitely over four digits! For a dentist office to ask you upfront to pay that kind of money without even building a relationship of trust first simply by cleaning your teeth is absolutely absurd! I should have listened to the other reviews and I will never go back and I feel sorry for all the people who have wasted their money here. DO NOT go here if you value your time. Because of the convenience of the location and they fact that they accept our dental plan, my entire family has gone in for cleanings. Each time, we've waited no less than 20 minutes after our appointment time to even be seen. The entire process for my annual exam (x-rays and cleaning only) took almost 3 hours from the time I arrived to the time I walked out the door, but that's not the worst of it. For some reason, I decided to schedule a teeth whitening appointment for three weeks after my cleaning. This time I waited an entire hour to be seen and had to track down a staff member to find out what was taking so long and when I would be seen. No explanation was given, but they finally came in 5 minutes later and started taking impressions for my whitening trays. The process was a disaster as the technician clearly did not know what she was doing. After jamming overfilled impression trays in my mouth, she informed me that they would both (upper and lower) need to be redone. About this time, the doctor came in and I expressed my frustration with both the blatant disregard for my time and the fact they were having to redo the impressions. For this the doctor apologized (with very little sincerity in her voice) then informed me that the whitening gel had not come in so they would need to reschedule my entire zoom whitening procedure. In short, I waited an entire hour of my valuable time as a business owner for NOTHING!!! Needless to say, I did NOT reschedule, did NOT let them redo the impressions, requested a refund of the $399, and cancelled all future appointments. read more

Came in for new patient exam I was super nervous since I haven't been in for a while , the assistant Emily was super gentle with X-rays and attentive . Dr. Buie was very knowledgeable and thorough with her exam she was really good at explaining my treatment . The Hygenist Adria did a great job at keeping me comfortable during my deep cleaning. I would totally recommend this practice to anyone who anxious about the dentist. read more

Dishonest. They said I needed 3 root canal treatments at a cost of nearly 8k. I went to another dentist and was told I needed 2 root canals and one filling and the end cost was sub 3k. I'm not sure if this was insurance related but any dentist that wants to perform 3 root canals in one long day is suspicious. My new dentist said calling out root canal treatment on the 3rd tooth was "heavy handed". They also ran my credit without my permission to establish a payment plan. Nothing was drawn on it but I had to call the backing financier to shut the line down when it appeared on my credit report a few weeks later, having already dinged my credit. Just bad service from the front desk all around. Couldnt get my x-rays off them which they charged me for despite calling them and going to the office. Never again. Avoid them! read more

When you come back, they charge you more even though your paperwork you signed doesn't have any of those charges that you agreed to...it's a scam. I had a cleaning that was so rapid and not complete. I knew my back teeth were not done. Several areas were not flossed. After my cleaning I thought I was going to see the dentist but was told I would have to come back another day. Then upon checking out the hygienist asked me to go online and write a review if I received good service. She even asked me to do it in front of her before I left! I used to get great service here but now its horrible. They seem to be the stop for new dentists out of school and they move on. You never will see them twice. Even though I told them my insurance will only cover regular x-rays, they ran Full Mouth Scans anyways and then I was charged. The consultation took forever and dentist was not gentle. He recommended deep cleaning, crown and all sorts of additional treatments which came out to more than $1,000. The dentist and the "payment consultant" became super pushy that I compare to a slum car lot salesman. Needless to say they did not even do the cleaning and I left getting charged for x-rays that now they refuse to provide me. They also charge your insurance more than other dentists. This is a dishonest practice that needs to be shut down! This place is horrible! Avoid at all costs! read more

These people are more salespeople than they are dentists, and they charge you more than other dentists ($98 for oral hygiene instructions??) and more than insurance says you owe them ($575 vs what they said we owed of $878). They lied about their products (one-day hassle free crowns that have been three visits and had to go to another dentist still to fix) and horrible service by both receptionists and doctors. We've contacted the owner/Doctor and in two weeks she never called in the timeframes we asked her to, so now it's between insurance and them. We subscribed to a Delta Dental plan through Costco which purported to save us money, and selected Preston Modern Dentistry from the list of available providers. I went in for an initial visit with checkup and cleaning, and was told that I needed two crowns. (I knew those molars had very old, deteriorated fillings). I was told "here's what we'll do" and presented with what to me was a very high cost, but according to the Delta cost chart, was less than it would have been otherwise. I agreed and got the crowns (in Jan. 2020) and was able to pay over multiple months at no interest. It was later that I learned that there was a much less expensive option that was not presented to me for consideration. I did not renew the Delta plan. In April 2021 I had a terrible toothache and went to the dentist my daughter uses. I learned that one of the teeth covered by the new crown needed a root canal. I told the dentist the crown was just over a year old, and he said it was very unusual to have to remove a crown that "young." When he did the root canal he discovered that a nerve was dead and was surprised that hadn't been discovered by the previous dentist. So now in 16 months I've paid for two crowns for the same tooth. Also, Preston Modern Dentistry ALWAYS calls my cell number when trying to reach my husband, even though I've told them repeatedly what his number is. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I bought a group on or living social deal for this place. I just needed a cleaning since I didn't have dental insurance for a bit since I was being added to my husbands. I called in March and made an appointment for July (that was the first they had available on a Friday). I received an email reminder a week before confirming my appointment. I went there that day and they said that they had do Dentists in the office that day. I was mad since I had been stalling for over an hour after I got off work. I did get over it though and the one lady I talked to was nice... She rescheduled me. I went back for my new appointment and the staff was not friendly at all. The only guy that was friendly was the guy that took my x-rays, which took forever. I have never seen a dentist take 25+ pics plus a panaramic view pic with actual pics of my teeth from a little camera stick. When I met my dentist, Micole Schwartz, she was nice. Then she told me I had 4 cavities and one needed a root canal/crown. I had already had the tooth filled years ago. I knew this was crazy since I go to the dentist regularly. Dr. Schwartz then started my cleaning and right in the middle the office manager came in to interrupt and show me what the charges were going to be to get these 4 cavities filled. Then they tried to get me to sign up to get some kind of varnish on my teeth. The whole thing was just unprofessional.... I did get my teeth cleaned more after she left when I told her I was not interested in any of these services. When I left, my teeth didn't even feel half as clean as a normally do at other offices. I went back to my regular dentist after this and he told me I need one filling. This is exactly why people shouldn't go to a place promoting a cheap special....they just want to get you in there to tell you need all this work down so that they make money. read more

I had a good experience on my first visit there. The staff was friendly and so was Dr. Buie. However, on my first visit I was quoted $335.80 for wisdom teeth extractions with their surgeon Dr. Thota and signed a financial agreement for that price with that doctor, or so I thought. I also gave $100 towards the surgery that day, and on the day of my surgery I was told I owed $1020. I mentioned to the front desk that I had been quoted a much lower price, but they insisted that was what I owed. At this point, I had taken time off work for this surgery and didn't have my financial agreement with me at the time, so I paid it. I went back home and found my original financial agreement and contacted the office. I was told that the quote I was given was for Dr. Buie to do the extractions and that because Dr. Thota did them I was charged more. This makes no sense given that when I talked to them on my first visit it was always Dr. Thota that I was told would do them. In fact I had to wait a couple weeks because he is only there certain dates. I work for an ophthalmology clinic and our prices don't change for a procedure depending on the physician who does them, and when a patient signs a financial agreement the price they are given does not change after having signed it. After I contacted them they sent me another quote with Dr. Thota's name in it to "explain the price difference". That quote still had a lower out of pocket estimate of $824, which meant I was owed a refund anyway, and it still is not what I should have been charged. It really sucks to have the understanding that you're agreeing to something and even signing it, and then out of the blue you're getting charged something completely different and that disregards your initial financial agreement. It also really is disheartening as I liked the doctors I saw, but the billing department is another thing. They had not responded my emails or calls and replied to me only after I submitted a complaint with the better business bureau. After that they sent me an email stating that they would only refund me $296 from what I paid because they're sticking to the second quote they sent me. Needless to say I'm never going back to them, and I do not recommend this office. read more

For a dentists office, this place is incredible. The technology that they have is amazing. Even better than that is the staff. Dr. Duraini heard from my conversation with the assistant that was from Philly, and enjoyed dogging each others football teams to the point that a lot of the staff were involved in the conversation. Incredible staff, very friendly, and extremely helpful. They had an emergency right before mine with another client, so I only got in ten minutes after my scheduled time. For me, getting in ten minutes late is incredible, compared to most doctors offices, but the staff was so apologetic of not getting me in on time. The hygienist, Ellie, also does a great job in getting the teeth cleaned. Very engaging in conversation, kept my attention away from the cleaning that was happening. I'd highly recommend this place. Glad that they had the offer on Groupon, so that I could meet them. Another thing impressed me about this place, Dr. Duraini told me that all the proceeds that they earned from the Groupon sales went to helping provide clean water and building wells in different parts of the world. There is even a information booth in the lobby that explains how they are invested in this project. read more

Everyone in this office is extremely nice and welcoming. They never push procedures/care on me that isn't necessary and fully explain payment options. I used to hate to go to the dentist and avoided it at the cost of my own dental health. I no longer dread going and have taken a more proactive approach to my oral care, thanks in part to Dr. Cha and the team at Preston Modern Dentistry, and how comfortable they make me feel when I go in for appointments. This office used to be run by a different dentist a few years ago, and the experience was not what it is now. In the past I would not have recommended this office. HOWEVER, since the staff/ownership changed I highly recommend this office and refer friends and family when they are looking for a new dentist. read more

I received a reminder for a visit and no one at the office was able to explain. The office manager 'never' called me back. I have been an ongoing patient of Preston Modern Dentistry for just about a year now. I have had about 4 different visits with peridontal cleanings every 3 months, a filling and regular exams. I could not be happier with this place. I have been treated really well every time I visit. Everyone from the receptionist, dentist, benefits coordinator and so on have been extrememely helpful, knowledgeable and have always greeted me with a smile. I always recieve a reminder call and e-mail for my appointments and they have always been very prompt and generally get me in and out faster than I even expected. I have had the same Dental Hygenist, Ellie, every time I visit and can I just say she is absolutely amazing. She is friendly, sweet, positive, and she remembers details about me and our past conversations as easily as if we were long term friends. We love to chat with each other about our cats, friends and so on. She is an amazing asset to this dental team and makes sure that every visit I have is a positive experience (even though the cleanings make me grumpy)! I hate dentists in general. I had several years worth of bad experiences before my husband found Dr. Duraini and Ellie at Preston Modern Dentistry. We decided to wait for a year to post to see if things were consistent both in treatment and from the office staff for both of us. We couldn't be more pleased! Overall - the office is spotless, employees are smiling and you hear laughter. Appointment times have always been respected and they call us back within minutes of our appointment time. My husband required more extensive repair work and has been in 9 times over the past year and yesterday was my 5th time. The front desk is kind and courteous and very willing to help - whether it is payment options or figuring out how to get appointments that work conveniently with our schedule or navigating the insurance mess. The technology they use makes it easy to see what is really going on and Dr. Duraini takes the time to explain things and answer every question I have in full detail - what looks good, what needs to be watched and why; short term and long term needs, prevention, various treatment options that all work - just which is the best balance for me. It isn't just the most-expensive-only-thing out there! Ellie is the hygienist and she is just amazing. She is the first person that ever took the time for me to understand the impact of my dental health. When I said what I struggled with - she gave me ideas and options of things that could work. Now a full year into my treatment - doing what I was told to - my teeth and gums are back to normal and I am back to a twice a year maintenance. I am so grateful to have a neighborhood dentist that knows what they are doing, will teach me how to do it myself and that are just friendly good people! read more

I have been three times now: the initial intake and consultation, an intense cleaning/scaling (hey, it's been over 6 years since I've had any kind of dental care!), and most recently for an extraction. Each time I have encountered friendly, knowledgeable staff who provide genuine, friendly healthcare. They always make sure I am comfortable and informed. In particular, Aaron (whose primary responsibility seems to be insurance benefits coordination and claims adjudication) and of course Dr. Duraini (he does the "heavy lifting"!) make my visits simple and...well, as close to fun as you can get at a dentist's office. Everyone from the very patient woman who took my initial x-rays, to the equally patient (and informative!) hygienist...heck, even the dental assistant that helped last time and was clearly in training and probably nervous had a great attitude. Everyone at the office is just kind, and friendly, and helpful. It seems like they truly prioritize the patient here. I am almost incapable of describing how amazing my experience has been at this office because if I get too excited it will become unbelievable. But that's exactly how great the service, attention to detail, and the quality of care are at this office. Even the payment plans are flexible. It is literally a stress-free, hassle-free, welcoming environment. I could not recommend them more highly. I have already referred a friend and I'm working on another! I love this dental office. I started going to this office for my personal dental health because it was close to my work. They have always been professional and I have always had wonderful experiences here from cleanings, root canals, and crowns. The staff is personable and the doctors are fantastic. I started bringing my children here for their dental health as well and every doctor so far have gone above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and making it a learning experience for them by explaining everything to them and giving them cool "dental facts." The doctor for my 11 year old was amazing. I had to bring my 5 year old with me to his brother's appointment. The doctor went so far as to letting my 5 year old put on a mask and gloves and pretend to be his assistant during the initial exam and consult of his brother. The nurses even would say "excuse me doctor" to my 5 year old. This really brightened his day. I can't put a price on a healthy smile and this dental office will have my family as patients for a lifetime. I would give them 10 stars if I could. read more

My insurance covered my cleaning last year so I didnt have to pay outcof my pocket, and suddenly told me I need to pay $700 this year. They don't tell you nor show you anything and charge you upfront, which is so rude. My experiences here is the best I've ever had at a dental office. Everyone from the Receptionist, Dental Assistant, Dental Hygienist,and Dentist are so nice and patient. I have really bad teeth so I can honestly say that I've encountered probably everyone in this office on my multiple visits. I actually find myself wanting to stay a little longer and hang out after the procedures because every is so nice. Also, the Dental Hygienist ended up fixing some of the horribly sloppy work that another dentist did at a former dentist. She did a deep cleaning and removed cement from cosmetic dental work that had been causing inflammation and infection for a year. I truly appreciate that. read more

I will keep this professional and truthful, unlike the service I received at this establishment. This past week I went in for the $40 deal (x-rays, consult, and cleaning). Let me first say that you should not be blinded by the high tech equipment they have, this is what they are hoping for. Take a moment to look deeper at the "car salesman" approach that they have. The girl who did my x-rays was very nice; however upon asking her how long she had been "doing this" this she said 7 months, and thus my follow up question was, "what did you do before this?", and what do you know, she was in sales. This didn't bring alarm until she tried to sell me their teeth whitening system while bashing Zoom. Then to the dentist, nice guy, but didn't ever get the feeling that he really knew what he was talking about. Mind you, no hygienist had seen me at this point. He showed me where there were "problems" that needed to be fixed. I was questioning this because I have had no pain or "problems" over the past year. All the while the x-ray technician had interrupted him twice with a piece of paper asking things in "dentist code". Very unprofessional if you ask me. Let the guy talk to me and when he is finished you can ask your question. Come to find out later she was hurrying to get the paperwork up front to the office administrator. Why you ask? Well...now in comes the office administrator and stands over the dentist while he is finishing his chat with me. Chat is right. He was more interested in telling me about personal things than my teeth. As he left, she slid into his seat with a print out of all the things that I needed to have done. Just like the finance manager at a car dealership. She quickly detailed that I needed to have a special cleaning. When I asked if they would have time to do it, as I had taken off work, and was not hoping to have to make a second appointment for just this, she said that their hygienist is only in on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and I believe she also said Thursdays. The point being that I was in the office on a Monday for the $40 deal, and they had no intention of the teeth cleaning happening. At this point I realized that I had been played. So I the. Ask her how much everything will cost with my insurance in place and she tells me that I don't have dental insurance. This is a complete lie. I gave her m card when I came into the office. She said that she called the insurance company and they said m policy ended in April of 2010. The problem is that I didn't even start my job until August of 2010, so there is no way her story matches up. I told her to look into it more. She agreed she would call the insurance company the next day (Tuesday) and get back to me. It is now Thursday afternoon and there has not been one call or email from them. As you can see, this establishment is not very professional, and I would be leery of going there. As well, the location in Forney tried to swindle my wife on her second visit for more money than they had quoted her on her first visit. Let me start off by saying I hate the dentist and because of this I was extremely surprised by my visit. The staff is very friendly and the insurance coordinator is extraordinarily helpful. The doc is a a friendly guy that makes you feel really comfortable. Also, I didn't need it but they offer same day service on a lot of procedures that used to require multiple visits. All in all I was very impressed and satisfied when I left. read more

I have been coming here for the past year or so and I couldn't be any happier with this office. The staff here are very friendly and are always willing to take the extra time to answer any and all questions I've had. This is especially true with my dentist, Dr. Cha. Many times, it seems like dentists try to rush procedures and questions in order to move on to the next patient. Dr. Cha, however, really seems to care and makes me feel at ease with the decisions that I have to make and never makes me feel rushed. Overall my visits here have been a great experience and I will continue to be a patient here. read more
