Still mediocre and overpriced food that's okay in a pinch but not a great option. I needed a quick lunch and most of their sandwich options have mayo on them (boo) so I went for the mayo-free pulled pork sandwich. My expectations were for tub from the grocery store level BBQ) and it was about that but slightly better. It was edible but nothing special and overpriced at $12. My favorite item from this restaurant is the spice chicken Cesar wrap, and I was delighted to see that they were still open at 5pm. I had actually been thinking about getting a wrap from here since lunchtime, which I skipped unfortunately. Their wraps have just the right amount of ingredients, and I think the Cesar dressing makes all the difference. I've had a couple of their other sandwiches, and every one of them is made with great care. Their lattes and capuchino drinks are also very good, and I have grown to like the vanilla capuchino. Ialso like this restaurant in particular because of it's simple and welcoming ambiance. Pret A Manger is exactly what it says it is: Take to Eat. For that, I appreciate it! This is a coffee shop that offers a variety of coffee-based drinks, as well as other cold drinks and options for people on the go. They also offer hot breakfast and lunch options (like soup and oatmeal--White Chicken Chili is a GREAT option), as well as cold lunch and breakfast options (like sandwiches). They have a bakery section next to the ordering area that has croissants, muffins, and other things you'd expect--I had the almond croissant, and it was DELISH. In terms of space, they have a lot of bar-type seating next to the window and a few booths to sit at. The overall ambiance of the place can get loud if there are people chatting, but I took a Zoom meeting from the space and was able to hear and participate just fine. They Wi-Fi was working great, so I can recommend if you need a space to work. This is also not far from a lot of spots downtown, so if you need to get a coffee and then walk around, definitely this can be your space! Mediocre prepared food at steep prices with crappy service. Everything here is prepared - nothing is made to order and looks stale - have no idea how long the food has been sitting out for. I gave the food the benefit of doubt and tried the hot falafel sandwich and the cold roasted corn and kale wrap. I have no idea how long the falafel sandwich was sitting in the heated counter, the tortilla was hard as a rock. The sandwich wasn't bad, I like the marinara and feta cheese - a weird combination, but tasty. It has 700 calories. The corn and kale wrap was less caloric, but tasted okay, it was kinda bland. Paying over $10 for a sandwich/wrap- I would expect a fresh sandwich. I like how Aubon Pain has both the option for to-go and custom sandwiches/wraps. Pret a Manager would do better adapting that model. The service is quite poor at this location. They want to complete your order as food as possible - it's like they are competing in a contest - who can get rid of the customer the fastest. Pret is also very stingy as it provides only 2 napkins per customer like Subway. For some messy sandwiches, I need at least 3 napkins - but wait, I would have to talk to the cashier and ask for more. Never mind - I'll just go to the dirty bathroom and wash my hands. Overall, I don't recommend Pret to anyone - go to Potbelly's, Aubon Pain, or even Subway for a cheaper, fresher, better sandwich. read more

When I go I normally go after 2pm and they normally don't have a lot of food left. But when they do have what I like is their chicken park hot wrap or their chicken ceases salad. I like their inunde booster shot drink. Back in the day they didn't serve soda now they do in can. And they have over priced orange juice in small bottle. Their bread for soup is good. Have not had their coffee or hot drinks in a while. Can't remember. This location seems clean. Have never been in the bathrooms. Parking is kinda hard. I normally run in and out. They close at 3:30pm I think they should at least move it to 6pm Seems the weekends they don't open. I went on a Saturday and this location and others around the area were close. read more

I had a fair cup of coffee here while waiting for the show at the National Theatre across the street. The food selection is small and not particularly my taste. My friend found a salmon salad she liked, however. The dining room seems appropriate to move a lot of people through in the morning for breakfast hours, not an evening hangout like I needed. I will preface this by saying we are on vacation in DC. We previously visited New York City and saw this chain throughout but didn't have the chance to try so we were excited to check this place out. It was our first stop in DC so also our first time interacting with people who live here. To say the gentleman who asked to take our order was off putting would be the understatement of the year. We walked in, said good morning, he asked what we wanted (no hello, welcome or good morning in response and we were the only people in line, so no rush). We asked for a chocolate and plain croissant and requested them to be heated up "they're warm now" was the response (they were barely above room temperature). We also asked for a small hot chocolate and a large coffee. They came out the same size so maybe he misheard, or was out of a certain size cup? The croissants were good, the hot chocolate bad, and the coffee average at best. When you order you are given a couple napkins to take to a table. I tried sitting at 5 different tables while my boyfriend grabbed the drinks - all wobbly. After he joined me we ate the croissants and then one of us stepped on the table pedestal, spilling coffee everywhere. I jumped to grab more napkins but there are none at the counters or tables. I ran back to the register to ask the same man if I could get more napkins for the spilt coffee. "In a minute" was the response. Luckily the rest of our DC interactions have been MUCH friendlier than our experience with this guy. read more

Pret A Manger reminds me of Europe. It's always a good spot to grab some tasty sandwiches. So when we saw one after trecking out from the National Mall for lunch we stopped in. Sandwiches were good as always. I had tuna on a baguette, my husband had a tuna melt and baby ate all sorts of goodies out of a salad. All were fresh and satisfying. If you open your facility at 6:30 am to start serving customers and don't have breakfast food ready, then what's the point? Walked into this location at 6:50 am and there was not a croissant or other breakfast pastry in sight and it was opened for breakfast. When I inquired, the server told me they had sandwiches and coffee but not pastries-- imagine that-- and they only put out the breakfast pastries at 7:15, 7:30 despite the fact that they open for business at 6:30 am. Shouldn't an establishment that serves breakfast food be ready to serve it when they open? read more
