I was referred here August 2017 with Yvonne & it has changed my "salon" experience life! Not exaggerating! These are the reasons why you should come here: It's gorgeous! The decor is to die for, fancy, spa feel, serene color scheme, beautiful & aesthetically pleasing! It's clean! The lobby, the tables, the floors, the bathroom, the sink, the pedicure chairs, everything is always clean. I have yet to see anything out of order. They have snacks available for their guests. From pretzels, to cookies, to peanuts, you name it. Yum! The customer service! From the first time I came in to now, the owners greet me & Yvonne is waiting for me with a smile. She is more than just a manicurist, she's my friend. We always have great conversation. Prime location! I love coming to get my nails done and enjoy a Starbucks & shopping all in one visit. The views are gorgeous in El Paseo & I find any excuse to come out this way. This isn't a proper nail salon review without the following: they do NOT speak Vietnamese right in front of you criticizing you or anything of the like. It's very minimal when I've heard them speak their language in the middle of my visit. It's very respectful and spa like atmosph UPDATE June 2019: - After visiting this salon for years, and being a loyal client of Yvonne, I decided to find a new manicurist & nail salon due to recent experiences there. - On 2 different occasions there were very loud and uncomfortable arguments between employees. -FIRST one was between the female owner & a male manicurist. They yelled, argued in their language (Vietnamese) from one side of the salon to the other. It was very uncomfortable, unprofessional & disturbing. Weeks after when I went back for a fill, I learned he had quit after this incident (he had worked there for 4 years, I was told). -SECOND time was between Yvonne (my manicurist) & another manicurist. It was also in Vietnamese, I obviously didn't understand the language but again it was very apparent that they were in disagreement over something. I was very bothered & uncomfortable by this. - What truly did it for me, was when I told Yvonne that I didn't appreciate the employees arguing in the salon, she said they weren't arguing, that there was nothing she could do to change my mind & if I preferred I could stop going there. I found this to be upright rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate, defensice & disturbing, considering my years of loyalty & referrals to this salon. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place! The owners Henry and Lina are simply awesome. Like an is not only a sweetheart but she is also so talented. She can create any shape or design that you desire. I'm beyond satisfied. Everyone working here are very friendly and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable. I have always enjoyed getting my nails done and have tried other places before in the past but this place is by far the BEST in the desert. I won't go anywhere else. read more

If you are thinking about coming here, don't. We are visiting and went to get our nails done and it was the most painful nail experience i've had. To end, when we left our nails look horrible: bad shape, polish on cuticles, and the gel was discolored in the end of the nail. read more

Stopped in today without an appointment for acrylic nail removal and a basic mani with Henry. My nails look great! He was very gentle and he took his time but I was out in 30 minutes which is a huge plus because I had to be somewhere right after. They are located right across from Tommy Bahamas on El Paseo so it's convenient to stop in during your shopping day on the strip! Highly recommend and I will definitely be back for more services. read more

The decor is lovely and there are plenty of technicians but that's where the positives end. I had a pedicure and the paint chipped the very ne t day. The technician in his attempt at "massage" dug so deeply into my calf muscle that my leg cramped in the evening and after 4 days my calf is still tender. This is not a review of the shop. This is a warning to stay away from Yvonne. A manicurist with a chip on her shoulder and attitude. I made the mistake of sending a friend who will never go back because she wouldn't listen to her and ended up with a manicure that barely lasted one day. My first experience was good but when trying to make the next appointment she was rude and booking with her is a nightmare. I decided to try once more. I made a standing. When I arrived she said she didn't book it and it was my fault for not coming on the same day the week before. After experiencing her unbelievably superior attitude for the third time I'm done. She can't organize her schedule and blamed me. No apology for making a mistake just attacks her clients. I have never experienced anyone this rude in the service industry. If you want aggravation with your mani-pedi this girl should be your first stop. read more

I had one of the best pedicures I've ever had here, and at a reasonable price to boot. A gentleman did my pedicure, and he was so meticulous. It was better than pedicures I've paid a lot of money for at fancy spas. It literally lasted for a month without chipping. Not good...the person who did my nails made me feel bad for the color I chose because it was glitter dip that turned out to be a challenge. They hurt the sides of my fingers and filed my skin more than my actual nail. My nails are thick, sticky and still irritated hours later. It was very uncomfortable when everyone working came by to inspect what was happening with my nails as I was getting them done. I am embarrassed it was such a big deal and that I now have to walk around with this on my fingers. Now I get to pay again to have someone else do them and fix the damage. Giving 1 star because my mom had an ok at best pedicure. read more

I was visiting my parents who are investors in a Hotel in the area and stopped in here after seeing it passing by. I had Lani and she was nothing short of AWFUL. She stole money from me. I paid her and she refused to give me my change from 40 dollars , she told me "I keep 7 dollar for my tip" I said please give me my change and she demanded keeping it for her tip which she didn't deserve. Her theft and behavior was so disgusting I told my parents who are letting local Businesses owners know about the stealing going on here. she is clearly doing this to visitors! Very elegant and clean nail place. The manager and the technicians are all soft spoken. I am very picky with my nails, had manicure every week for close to twenty years in a least 15 places. This is probably one of the best place! My cuticles are very clean and my nails properly filed. Color was perfectly applied. read more

This is the worst nail salon ever. 4 months later and my nails have not recovered. I need a gel manicure removed (just polish) and they electric filed if off - I had never had this done before so I had no idea that incredible damage it would cause. My usual manicurist at my hometown says they did it that way to save time. Nice. Now my nails are peeling, breaking and looks horrible. read more

Emily is great manicurist. I get the gel polish It lasts 3 weeks but i go every 2 weeks for a fill and also a pedicure. Highly recommended - the price is totally worth it. read more

Very basic and did not do a great job on my feet at all. I paid extra for my calluses and my feet were rough when I got home and checked them . Went looking for a pedicure near El Paseo at 4 pm on a Thursday afternoon, and found Pretty Nails & Hair. Right around the corner from Anthropologie, they are very convenient to the shops, galleries, and parking garage. Within minutes of walking in they had me set up with water, magazines, and the massage chair. Walked away with a great pedicure and nice manicure (they offered to do it at the same time, and looking at my nails, was definitely warranted). $40 for mani/pedi. read more

I will never go back here! I chose Pretty Nails for a mani/pedi because of their location, and from the outside it looks bright and airy. Once I got inside, I realized it was cluttered and dirty. But I had made an appointment, so I went ahead with it. First, the chair was torturous. My back hurt the entire time. They did not have the massage units or pillows to help. Second, I was downwind from another nail tech who smoked between his clients. Third, the lady next to me was on her phone for her entire appointment talking loudly about her friend who has Hepatitis C because she used to do a lot of drugs, "Oh, yes she did!" Most importantly, I don't think the place was up to any health standards. They did the minimum of cleaning between customers, and now I just pray I don't get an infection. The only reason I gave it two stars (instead of one), is because my nail tech--a grandmother--was very sweet. I left early though because the polish I had chosen for my manicure was thick and gunky. I had her take it off and left. There's more, but I have better things to do than list their problems. Yuck! read more

Had a terrible pedicure. Lady was busy talking to other employees and then just left , went outside and never came back . My friend's predicure which started same time as mine , lasted 20 min longer for the same procedure . Very disappointing and felt used . What great service! I took my daughter to get a gel manicure here for the first time on a Friday. We were walk ins, and not only did they get her started right away, the manicurist did a beautiful job! The salon was beautiful and very clean. By far the worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon and paint job ended up looking like a 5 year old painted my nails!! Do not go here the customer service was just as bad I was treated very badly they knew I was unsatisfied with the services and did not care to help fix and still charged me! My husband and I went here for mani/pedi, gel mani /pedi while visiting Palm Desert. I get my nails done every two weeks in Northern California and both of us said. "Best we've ever gotten. ". Lina, Henry and Steve were great, best attention to detail . They were all so personable and appreciative of our business. We will come back regularly. read more

If you can add zero to your rating, i will rate zero. Terrible place for a mani and pedi. Yes nice remodelling done, nice area of location, but service....is horrible, terrible and unbelievably.... cant describe the word. We go to nail salons to be able to relax and have peace. Apparently as soon as i sat in the chair, i felt that he was hurrying up and complain about my cuticle. Then after my peducure i was asked to leave my chair and move to a table for my manicure, where ii had the most uncomfortale position and more noice. The person doing my manicure did not stop answering the phone taking appt and msg while doing my nails, its incredible. I was so nervous that he might hurt me while doing all these other things. WHEN am I going to learn that you can't be all things to all people? Such is the case here. I was on a schedule as I had to leave town and forgot the eyebrows or should I say "eyebrow" as in ONE? My usual waxing house of preference, European Wax in La Quinta, was a bit too far out of the way and I hadn't established a new waxer at the freshly-opened Palm Desert store. So, I settled for Pretty Nails. Here is my ultimate thought on nail salons that offer one-stop beauty services: A nail salon should only do nails. A hair salon should only do hair. You don't go to the DMV for a marriage license???? So, I ducked into Pretty Nails (and having done my own nails two days previously, which comes later in this review.), for a lip, eyebrow and chin waxing as I was looking like the transitional Bruce/Kaithlin Jenner. (Love getting older!). Clean enough facility as I looked around. There were a few things to note that should have set up a roadblock: there was no soothing gel used after my waxing which resulted in a sting for most of the day and a more-than-usual redness throughout the day. When gel is used on me, the sting is usually gone within an hour or less. Furthermore, after one night, I noticed there was a slight burn below my eyebrow hairline in addition to one in the upper corner of my lip. Not good. She wasn't in a hurry as she was not do anything when I walked in. Just careless, I guess. And lastly, my favorite, as she was apparently looking at my homemade manicure, she states "You should come back for your nails". Really?? Why would I permit her the opportunity to do my nails when a simple waxing job was so carelessly and unprofessionally done? So, lesson learned. Nails for nail salon. Hair for hair......... read more

Nina did my nails. I was out of town and needed a manicure. She was not friendly, rushed through, and did not paint the nails on the sides. She did not have me wash my nails after the lotion and said she used alcohol on them which to me is drying as is the acetone she used to clean my nails. I would not recommend this place as I'm sure there are better places in the area. read more
