We usually come to this spot after we hang out at SeaQuest. We always order a dozen of macarons as they are tasty and delicious. I always forget to take photos because my daughter is already munching on them. We like this place as it quaint and not a lot of folks during the period we visit. The staff here are friendly and I like that they have a restroom that's clean for my daughter to use. It's big enough for me to change my son as well if needed. I'm a Starbucks but so I didn't care for the coffee but the chai tea was pretty good. One day I'll try the cakes but overall it's a pretty cool place to pick up some sweets if you are craving some. read more

Very very disappointed in the service. I ordered for pick up from grub hub. When I got there, they said that the price on grub hub was wrong and that they have to charge me higher. First of all, how is it the customers fault? Their solution? Sorry you have to pay the difference which is double the price on top of what you paid oh and also, we will not accommodate you for your inconvenience In this economy, I understand you want to make as much money off people. But I would think you would also want to keep customers. Never giving this place my business again. Here's a tip. You can get pastries just as good across the street at cupcake craving - at least they have great customer service. Lol @ the owners response. Very professional. read more

I've been ordering Vegan/eggless cake with them for 2 years and have never been disappointed. Their customer service is amazing, the bakers really try and work with you and have been super helpful even during a last min order! Their cakes are worth the $$ and their macroons are a must They do sell temple coffee which is perfect for a pit stop for to go coffee's since it's right next to Starbucks and much better. read more

Pretty Sweet was the provided cake vendor for our wedding through our all-inclusive wedding venue. The process was great until we went in to pick up our tasting sample. The staff was not friendly at all. I would expect, or even hope, that someone would smile or say congrats, or something. But we looked beyond that, excited about our tastings. When we got home and tried them, they were dry and flavorless. Both coconut and lemon flavors just tasted like vanilla. Not the quality of cake I would expect a wedding cake to be. I sent them an email regarding this. They said, quote, "If you are looking for a moister cake, we recommend our chocolate and red velvet flavors." First, that's pretty much admitting that you know your cakes are dry. And second... you're asking the bride and groom to NOT order what they want? Anyway, our venue was very understanding and allowed us to go with a different vendor. Who, by the way, was absolutely amazing! She treated us like a bride and groom. read more

I have brought my girls and their friends here on many occasions and purchased many cakes through the last couple years. The design and effort in the cakes has been 5 stars. However, I was extremely disappointed recently with what I experienced prior to Thanksgiving. Below are pictures of specific cake prices. Even though the Tres Leche specifically stated $40, it magically became $55. "All cakes are $55 dollars and I'm not sure who made that mistake," is what the associate said. Got desserts from Pretty Sweet 2 times- for both my boyfriends and my birthdays! We got to try their cake (they write on it per your request- but we only ordered the same day so had to choose from designs/flavors that were a available in the display), gorgeous cupcakes (they looked so fancy and I loved the dreamy colors!!) and their cake desserts in jars. TERRIBLE CUSTOM CAKE (& CUSTOMER SERVICE) EXPERIENCE- DO NOT RECOMMEND GIVING THEM YOUR BUSINESS OR RISKING YOUR EVENTS CAKE!!!! Updating this review (still 1 star - I would absolutely give ZERO if I could). Keep in mind I do not write negative reviews, not even one - ever! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with ANY business PERIOD. Their customer service (& cake) was horrendous in every way imaginable. I ordered a custom cake from them for my birthday and they got the order wrong. (Not to mention the cake itself was terrible tasting... it was dry and literally 70% frosting! I have never had such a bad cake... you're better off getting one at the supermarket, honestly.) When I reached out to them letting them know I was disappointed that I paid for a specific custom cake (which many times I reiterated the order so there would be absolutely no confusion & they said my order was clear and confirmed it) - they simply said sorry. I asked for a refund, as the cake I received was not the cake I ordered/ paid for. They reluctantly agreed to only giving me half refund. Then, when I would check in asking when the refund would come in as promised (they told me they could only do it via Venmo, which I said was fine), they said they would do it on another day & were absolutely rude whilst withholding said refund. When they finally responded about a week later, they *said* they would give me $40 "as agreed" (I never agreed to this) - which was still less than half the refund they said they would give. And they still withheld the refund. At this point I was completely frustrated with their lack of customer service. I let them know if they were not going to give the refund - I would not only be writing a full review, but also going to the better business bureau with the intention of getting my money owed. Their response was (and I quote directly copy and pasted from the email) "Lady! ...You want to write a review? Go ahead You wanna keep emailing us...? Go ahead since you have so much extra time on your hands!" When it's not that I have extra time on my hands - I would have been ELATED to avoid this experience all together had they just got the order right in the first place (even if it tasted terrible as it did, at least had gotten it correct) or if they had just given me the refund right off the bat (instead of emailing intermittently and writing me off and withholding said refund). Last thing I want to be doing with ANY of my time is attempting to get my money owed from rude customer service business owners. Or even having to sit here and write this review! The way they handled me, and the situation? Was atrocious. I just want to save any potential customers from having this kind of experience, it was literally that bad. I don't know how they are still in business with their cakes being that bad along with the customer service being so horrible. Usually businesses can survive without one or the other, but without both? No thanks. All that being said.... save yourself the energy, and the money. Go somewhere else. It's genuinely not worth it, especially at their price point. Ps. If you take a look at their other negative reviews, you'll notice a pattern of both the cake being super dry and the customer service being horrific. This is definitely not a one-off occurrence. ****IN RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER WHO REPLIED TO THIS FALSELY TO MAKE THEMSELVES LOOK BETTER**** If that would have been the case, I would not have had to have gone to these lengths. It took you over a week to get me refunded. And no, you did not respond right away. And no, I certainly did not post a bad review before contacting you. I contacted you with photos of my wrong order before anything - literally sent images to you in an email as soon as I opened it just hours after pickup. You responded days later... which in that time, I had initially posted a very nice review with 1 star, saying "I wouldn't order a custom cake from here, but I'm sure the regular bakery is awesome" just to be nice even after my bad experience with you. I updated the review to this after our entire week long interaction. Because I have been appalled with your service. You have been extremely rude and unprofessional the whole way through. The fact that you're publicly trying to make it seem like you handled the situation okay is not even surprising at this point. All because you eventually begrudgingly gave me half a refund. Which you certainly did not offer. I had to ask for a refund. And you made it clear you did not want to do that. Eventually you agreed to half, and then didn't respond for days again - and then said less than half. Your customer service was beyond bad, and unfortunately so was the cake. I just hope other customers see this and the other reviews and choose not to risk their money or events cake by using your business. read more

Oh my deliciousness. This place is dangerous. We sampled several desserts. Chocolate Mousse Pecan Praline, Cremeux Dulcey Panna Cotta, Almond Cake and Walnut Brownies. Pretty bummed, I went in to buy a cake off the shelf and was asked if I would like writing on the top. I agreed but was never showed an example of what the writing would be or what color I wanted. I was handed the cake only to see the writing was not centered and a color that does not even correlate with the design. This cake was beautifully designed but the writing definitely was not done by the same person. And unfortunately the cake was quite dry and appeared to be on the shelf for a week as it was in the same spot a week prior. All that for $40. :( read more

I feel that it is unfortunate that I won't get to leave a great review of the actual products this store makes due to rude and unhelpful staff. I find that if the owner or actual cake makers were running things their would be better service but sadly people are employed who don't care nearly as much as about their business and it's success. I always look for ways to promote local places my wife and I like, so when it came time to think about doing party favors for my son's 1st birthday with about 50 families, we came to Pretty Sweet and see our options. When we talked to the cashier (owner's daughter?), she quickly went to the back and introduced us to Mussarat. We told her about the party favor idea and how we love her pear jam and whether she would be able to do a smaller size of our favorite jam at a more favor appropriate pricing. 5 minutes later we had a verbal deal! Mussarat and I communicated through text as she searched for a smaller sized canning bottle for the project. She even custom printed on gold stickers to showcase "Pretty Sweet" in black writing on top of the gold cap! She even had the jams ready 2 days before the pick up time! The jam was tasty as always and it was indeed very beautiful. Thank you Pretty Sweet for letting us share your delicious jam to our friends and family in Folsom and beyond! read more

I got this cake a couple months ago and they did an absolutely great job, it was filled with delicious fresh fruit and vanilla mousse. I'm so happy I've found this bakery thanks to Instagram. I live in Sacramento and drive all the way to Folsom to get treats, you can tell everything they do is made from scratch because the taste of everything is refreshing. It was hard to find someone to make a custom cake during COVID...but Pretty Sweet took care of us! I emailed multiple Sacramento places for quotes and got no reply! I saw Pretty Sweet on Yelp and sent in a quote and texted the number on Yelp and got an instant reply and quote the next day. It was really easy to communicate with them, and gave me a great cake! Exactly what I asked for. Easy process. The cake was cheaper than quoted. I got chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. The cake itself was still moist, not dry. My daughter loves macaroons and this place has a huge variety at a good price. They also make Ana big chocolate dipped strawberries but you have to call ahead to have those made and that's only if they have the strawberries in stock. They make the cutest cakes and cookies. Corporate WIN! I am in NYC and I had a large corporate event to plan for out of state. I was lucky to find this bakery! The cakes were made beautifully and delivered promptly! I am a gluten free baker myself. Thought I would try this place out and see how they compare to my baked goods. OMG the macaroons are absolutely delicious! Macaroons are not easy to make and they definately have this recipe "perfected".
