This location is in Kahala Mall and has been there for years. It's comforting to me to look at it and think, nothing's changed. The pretzel bites, my go-to were exactly how I remembered. While waiting inside of the Kahala Queen's Island Urgent Care clinic I got cold & hungry, as I was waiting in the lobby for several hours so I decided to step out of the clinic and go to Kahala Mall to look for something to eat. I really didn't want something too heavy, so I ended up at the Pretzelmaker. It's been years since I last stopped by the Pretzelmaker and I kinda looked forward to a giant pretzel. Upon walking up to the ordering counter, I was able to secure the last giant pretzel & got the garlic pretzel. What can I say about my pretzel? My quick snack sure hit the spot but the garlic flavor wasn't really there, as they used some kinda garlic salt and not real garlic. At a little over $6 bucks for this pretzel, and can say it probably wasn't of good value for what I got, which explains why I probably don't come here on da regular. Lol! read more

Free Pretzel Bites on National Pretzel Day... 4-26-26, Sunday... While exiting my car at the Kahala Mall parking lot, I heard, "Auntie Nadine!" I looked around and saw Mari T. and her cutie-pie daughter (who is almost one year old)! Mari asked if I was there for the free Pretzel Bites... Me: No... but tell me how to get some... Mari said that it's on the app... Ok... lemme update my Pretzelmaker app... I was having difficulty and the efficient, knowledgeable worker suggested that I uninstall and install back... because I wasn't able to change the password on my account. Uhg... Earlier in the afternoon, I swung by to purchase a large size cup of original bite size pretzels with a light amount of salt. The girl behind the counter yells a large size to whoever is cooking. So I thought I'd be getting a fresh batch. Then, she moves over to the huge pile of already cooked bite size pretzels and fills a large cup w them. I thought to myself, "okay, they probably just made them, or maybe not." I paid and walked away while starting to eat them. Some were warm and soft while other were pretty tough, which means they were sitting there longer than should be. As we approached Starbucks by foot, my daughter and I tried many and realized many were really tough and not fresh. I didn't want to go back. This has happened to us before at this same location at least 2x (far distant times - once last year, and another time the prior year; but other times, the cashier person usually has the staff member make new ones, which are perfect). Pretzelmaker owner of this location: please advise your staff to make fresh pretzels and not let them sit out to get cold/tough to eat. The quality of the food can be done better. Don't serve pretzels sitting out to become unpleasant to eat. If made right and sent out to customer right after cooked, they're great. read more

Their stuffed pepperoni pretzel is the best. It's made to order so you might have to wait 5-10 minutes, but it's so worth it. The pretzel, cheese, and pepperoni all come out hot and soft. It doesn't look like their other twist pretzels - I'd describe it as more of a mini open stromboli. It was displayed on the menu with a black vinyl stuck to the original menu, so I'm not sure they have it all the time. Small kiosk with friendly service. My husband and I were looking for something to eat for dinner but wasn't feeling any of the places here in the mall. After deciding to go somewhere else, my husband decided to stop at the PretzelMaker for a snack and ended up getting a pretzel bites combo (comes with a large drink and 2 sauces of your choice). The pretzel bites came out nice and hot and wasn't burnt on the bottoms; the bites were so soft and tasty. The vanilla sauce was good but too sweet for my liking and my husband didn't really care for the caramel sauce. The customer service provided was awesome and I like the fact that my bites were perfectly cooked and not burnt on the bottoms.. Better than Auntie Anne's, that's for sure! To be honest, I never really grew up loving pretzels, I chalked it up to be bland bread. But after 22 years on this Earth, Pretzelmaker changed my mind. Best time to go is right when they open. We were there going on Sunday, so that was possible this day. The workers are fresh and still perky and the pretzels are nice and fresh. Of course didn't matter about freshness since my bites sat in my back for a couple hours. But still ono with the jalapeno cheese dip! Even small pretzels are expensive, but if you're craving salty carbs, here's the place to grab it and go. Service is efficient. It's refreshing not to be charged for a bag these days since it has to be included to keep the oily pretzels contained until you're ready to eat them. She took my order and started making my Parmesan pretzel bites while talking to the other boy about his relationship drama/issues! What a nostalgic spot in Kahala Mall! I remember coming here and smelling the freshly made pretzels. I signed up for the app and got a $3 reward for my birthday! Another Epic fail again the last time I was nice gave them 3 stars even though they made a mistake on my order. Tonight I was craving for a pretzel decided to go to Kahala mall Pretzel-maker. I stand in line after 3 customer in front of me . I seen there was 1 Pretzel left and the customer in front of me took that last one. My pet peeve is always running out of food and you need to wait for a new batch which takes about 10-15 mins. You would think when you have about 2-3 Pretzel left you would start making some already, but not Kahala location they wait till the last one is sold than start making more. Coming from a food industry back ground i know you need to always check your inventory and if it's low you need to make more. Always need to have your merchandise for customer service. Hopefully management see my post and have something done, because if they don't there going to lose at lot of business. Maybe due to the Pandemic they close early and they don't want to waste, but I was there at 5:30pm so I don't think that's the reason. I honestly think that they don't train their workers about those small things . But they should because it not small it's a problem, who wants to wait 10-15 minutes for Pretzel every time . Soft pretzels are one of my favorite mid-shopping treats. My son and I really enjoy the bites because they're easier to eat. Especially when dipping in the variety of sauces that are oh so yummy! Who doesn't love them? My only gripe is that the Kahala Mall location has hit or miss customer service. Sometimes the ladies are really nice. But most times, they are clearly less than enthused to be there. Let alone to serve anyone. That is beyond clear! I'm so bummed they closed their Ala Moana location. The employees were far more helpful and friendly. And they always remembered our order. (What can I say? We like what we like!) Browsing Kahala Mall almost all the time, you get to miss a few things. When it came to my stomach and where to spend some money, it came to finding something new and exciting to quiet my stomach and enrich my taste buds in full throttle. Enter Preztelmaker. I think I remember that I didn't review everything that sells food products within Kahala Mall, so I decided to check Yelp and sure enough, I haven't. PreztelMaker is known throughout the USA and the world and has locations in Hawaii, but just two on Oahu including Kahala Mall. With that said, I arrived here on a brisk Thursday morning, my actual birthday, to the mall to secure some lunch and kill some time here. My experience here at PreztelMaker was short and sweet. Right after ordering, you can expect to wait about 3-5 minutes before your order is finished and ready for pick up. For the most part though, having a preztel brings me back memories of when I went to the Hawaii Farm Fair back in the early 1990's when it was still at McKinley High School grounds. Preztels are comfort food and definitely you should pick one up to nosh on whenever you come to Kahala Mall and shop. Pair that with a Jamba Juice and you got an ideal lunch pair. The service here is nice and friendly. There is no seating places to enjoy your preztel in the immediate vicinity, but then again, you can eat a preztel in hand on the go anyway. Best part of the preztelmaker experience is that you can put extras on your order, so it will be as amazing as it can be. Toppings like cheese and other assorted toppings helps the experience along and definitely can enhance the deliciousness when you are enjoying one or four. Its similar to tacos, when you just can't stop at just one. Have a combo with a drink and you'll be satisfied for sure. For my experience, I ended up with 2 of them, just to have a shot at different varieties of essentially the same basic thing, but two different tastes. It ended up to be quite the ensemble that I wanted to taste for a while now. Only problem with Prezelmaker can come down to cost, where you can spend at least $3 per preztel and it can be worth the price of a small sandwich, but comparably similar in prices. It will help you keep on budget and definitely help you stay satisfied on many days of real life dramatics and what other stuff life tends to throw at you. If you are in the area and love preztels, consider getting your fix here at the Preztelmaker. It's one of two Oahu locations on the island that sure to please the preztel kid in you. The other is at Windward Mall in Kaneohe. I definitely would recommend it if you're on the go and want something else than the typical fast food fare. The overall experience here at the PreztelMaker - Kahala Mall is of friendliness and of simplistic tastes. PreztelMaker and its many variations nationwide help keep the preztel alive and well in the people's minds everywhere. I'm not a fan of bread, never have been and never will be. The hubby on the other hand, can't get enough. He's at Pretzelmaker every chance he gets. He loves the cinnamon sugar pretzel bites. All the locations seem to be consistent in the products that they put out. Pretzel bites are $5.49 small, $6.49 regular, and $7.49 large. The regular pretzel is $3.29 each. The prices are outrageous. It's pretty much just flour, water, sugar, and dry yeast. The profit margin must be huge. With that being said, the few pieces that I did try weren't bad. I get we were there right before closing but the level of rudeness was not necessary especially when the customer right before us was a friend and seemed to get way better service. Also we did not realize it was closing have not been to the mall at night in a long time did not realize closing was at 8 always thought it was 9. So being unaware of that when ordering asking for something and being told no we're don't have have that and being annoyed could have been hi hello we're about to close this is all we have would have been a better approach. Ohhh how I miss Pretzelmaker! Pretzelmaker was my first job when it was opened at Ala Moana. Sadly they closed down couple years ago. I haven't got my fix in forever. There was no line yesterday ( April 30th 2021 ). So my bf and I ordered large pretzel bites for the girls and he wanted to try their mini dogs. & I of course got their Pepperoni Roll. Everything was delish. But as for the pepperoni roll, it WAS SUPER SALTY. I already knew once I saw it. Maybe my fault for saying yes to salt and butter. The girl (h.s. student I'm assuming) was rather expressionless and not really pleasant. Had a little "atritude". Seemed like she would rather be someplace else or doing something else. My 8yr old did the ordering and the employee seemed rather impatient with him, even though he really wasn't slow or holding anything up. When given the total of the transaction, I handed her the paper bill first and not more than 2 seconds later handed her the loose change... a nickel (I didn't want to get 90-something cents back in loose change). The register had literally just opened and she said, "Sorry, I already entered it in" and just stared at me. It wasn't really difficult math to figure out. You don't get to see the magic happening to know when the fresh off the rack really great pretzels are ready. Just a front of part of the wall with just enough room to sell you the 1 thing you may want passing by only. Since this was my regular stop in high school for a tasty snack, I always just assumed all pretzel vendors were the same - delicious. Then I moved to the mainland for 16 years and kept being disappointed after trying Wetzel's Pretzels and Auntie Anne's until deciding my tastes had changed after having another barely edible pretzel. They also started selling hand poured nacho cheese sauce m for .99 - but it's small as hell so don't do it. I also watched the worker pour large scoopfuls of Parmesan cheese into a cup and attempt to shake it with the pretzels in the container. That poor ladies pretzel to parm ratio must have been horrible. We all must be gluttons for punishment considering most of us complainers will probably still come back. Great customer service all the time. The owners are awesome! They both work really hard and maybe when they are not there, the younger staff may not realize temperature control and letting things sit out for too long...but for the most part, my mini pretzel dogs are always so yummy with a side of cheese to smother in. Then, like an on switch, my stomach growls and tells me, "you must eat pretzels, now." Okay. Who am I to go against the wishes of my stomach? The prices are reasonable; you can normally get something there from between $3 - $5, but it can get more expensive if you get the fancier pretzels or get a drink. My husband and I like to go to Pretzelmaker for a snack with our coffees. We usually get the pretzel bites - small, soft pretzels. Keep in mind that they are bite sized (sometimes the bigger ones are two-biters). The bites come in a cup and the cup is normally stuffed with them, so I feel like I get my money's worth. It will come with salt and butter, but you can also add flavor to it, such as parmesan cheese or cinnamon sugar.
