Hubby, daughter and I came here for snacks. Hubby shared half of a cinnamon and sugar pretzel. My daughter got the jalapeno pretzel. She enjoyed her pretzel. I definitely loved my cinnamon sugar pretzel. It was piping hot which I like hot off the oven. I can taste the butter from the pretzel and then sugar and cinnamon all in one bite. This was so good. I got a free garlic and Parmesan cheese pretzel here for my birthday reward via the auntie Annie's app. I'm so grateful the pretzel was free but it was horrible. Very hard and although nice and warm it just was poor quality. To describe it best, my jaw hurt trying to chew the pretzel. I'm not sure if they changed the mixture of the dough but too hard and not good. I have an extra star because the employee was friendly. I don't recommend auntie Annie's. It's the perfect go to place if you're looking for a quick bite to eat, and something cool and refreshing. During this visit I got the mini pretzel hot dogs. Comes in a cup with 10 bite size pieces, and can be ordered on its own or as a meal with a beverage. You can also add on a dipping sauce for only 79¢. Definitely goes great with the cheese dipping sauce. For me, instead of ordering it as a meal, I decided to try their peach lemonade, and it was very delicious. It almost reminded me of a peach gummy with li hung mui (if you're local, you know what I'm talking about). The cool part is that they have an app where you can order ahead, and they also accept Apple Pay at the register. Yumminess! I absolutely love Auntie Anne's pretzels - they are so addicting I have to get them whenever I'm in the area! Auntie Anne's is located in the Pearl Ridge Mall phase I near the food court and Starbucks. There is ALWAYS a line but it moves quickly. The workers are mostly round high schoolers and they keep the pretzels coming out and the line flowing very well. I always order the mini hotdog pretzels, it comes served in a cup and there is usually some already made in the the advertised hot containers - they sell so quickly that they don't have time to get old or stale so it's safe to say they are "fresh". Overpriced, but hey, what isn't these days? My all time favorite item on the menu is the cinnamon sugar pretzel. It comes with way more cinnamon and sugar than other pretzel places. $3+ seems expensive for bread, sugar, and cinnamon, but the euphoria I get when I sink my teeth into these pretzels justifies this discretionary expenditure. It's been years since I've been to Auntie Anne's, since there are only two locations on the island (both at Pearlridge Center). So I walked in, intending to buy a pretzel. But wait, in display case, I saw cups of bite sized pieces of cinnamon pretzels. Since I was sharing with my son, I figured these would be easier to consume. So I bought one. Not knowing that it's about a $1 more than the pretzel (just over $4). Being the Chinese person that I am, the first thing that came to my mind was "which one has more bread - the pretzel or the nuggets?" Oh my! I haven't had an Auntie Anne's pretzel in such a long time but it seems the quality just went downhill. I had it for the first time in a long time and the pretzels were so dry and hard. The garlic parmesan was so salty. The hot salsa cheese prepackaged sauce was nasty...taste like vomit! They really should "up" their game. I remember liking soft pretzels! I do miss Pretzel Maker. I feel like theirs was fresher and you could watch them spin/make the pretzels right there behind the glass. Their sauces are really good too! I don't remember them being the prepackaged kind. Heed the warnings. Auntie Anne's is a worst, just as expensive version of Pretzel Maker. I ordered an original salted pretzel with cheese dipping sauce (an extra .75) for a little over $4. The counterhelp asked if I instead wanted pretzel bites because "they're the same amount of pretzel"...but for a dollar more? No thanks. The pretzel was thin and flimsy. Literally falling apart, it made me think it was too dough, perhaps undercooked but I was terribly wrong! The bottom was very dark, boarder line burnt! Despite the salt and cheese dip, the pretzel was bland and burnt tasting if anything. The only positive thing about my experience is that I was given my order immediately since the pretzels were pre-made, sitting under warmer lights that were actually warm. I like coming here when I'm looking for something light during my lunch break and I will stop by here to get a pretzel and lemonade combo. The lines move fast so I have never had to wait for more than a few minutes. The kids who work here are very polite and I get a greeting when I step up and a thank you when I leave. I like the pretzels here they are very soft and kept warm. The downtown location has the fresher pretzels which I'm guessing because it's the busier side with the movies. The downtown location also has four different kinds of lemonade and uptown has two. I normally get the salted pretzel but there are a variety of flavored toppings and dips that you can choose from also. I would like to emphasize the great customer service I have received in the past couple of weeks. I'm glad to see the younger workforce working hard while giving service with a smile. These kids deserve a big pat on the back, and i will be returning here. read more

Took the family to Pearlridge to see the Butterfly exhibit (disappointing - see my review). Anyway, we were killing time before it opened and walked past Auntie Anne's. Upon passing, my youngest daughter decides she would like a pretzel so we go in to see what they had... $4 for cinnamon sticks??? What??? 6 pieces of dough covered with cinnamon and sugar - that's it. And they have the nerve to charge $4 for it??? After my initial hesitation, I decided to give them a shot. Maybe they'd surprise me. Maybe they'd be the most delicious cinnamon sticks on the planet. Maybe they'd be worth every penny. Or . . . maybe not. The employees there were of great service. But on the other hand, store manager is a very rude and inconsiderate person. Oh if you go there, you'll see who I mean. It's very obvious. Lady with tattoos in buttoned shirt. I was in the middle of my transaction with one of the employees and she just stepped out, not saying excuse me. Just went on break while I was in the middle of the transaction. The counter they have is their gate. So, she moved the gate open and i was still paying for my order. I was the ONLY customer and she had to step out. Couldnt wait 5 minutes for me to step out. I was really mad. Another visit, she yelled at her employees and I witnessed it. I have a management job and if I treated people like that I would be fired. That's no way to treat anyone if you're management. People take advantage of their manager positions. So I'm standing in line with my 6 y/o daughter and someone things they can skip the line and stands in front of me off to the side of the line, in front of the glass where the pretzels are. Very strange experience I had here today. We've loved Auntie Annie's for so long. Nothing beats a fresh pretzel when the craving hits. Whenever we come to Pearlridge we always try to grab one. Ordered the mini bites today at the Auntie Annie's downtown side and the lady who rung me up said it would take 10-15 minutes. I told her that's fine, paid and told her I'd be back. They did have the pepperoni pretzel cups readily available, but if you wanted to substitute the combo from wrapped mini dogs for the pepperoni pretzels they wanted a $1.00 more. This just got added to the list of places that I will never order from again. Im not sure if this location is the one we bought from but the review is for the Auntie Annes that's on the uptown side. My son likes to order things from here because they have those Pretzel nuggets with cinnamon. What kid doesn't? Anyway, they serve it in a cup and he didn't realize until there was only 2 pieces left that there was a cockroach at the bottom of his cup. I thought he was going to vomit in the middle of the mall! My wife took back the cup to the counter and the young cashier seemed grossed out about it. The lady manager was not apologetic at all. She didn't say anything about the roach in the cup. Success! I've been craving a jalapeño pretzel for a month. I was getting a little desperate looking for it in Hawaii. I was looking for it in passing everywhere we went. This was my third try on my third week here. Tried one pretzel place my first week and then pretzelmaker at kahala mall another week and they didn't have. All it took was a short wait. Not the best I've had but I finally got one. And with cheese sauce, yum! Now if only someone could tell me where to find dried in-the-shell longan fruit on Oahu. If I could give no stars, I would. Unfortunately this place was a huge disappointment. I ordered a plain pretzel with no butter or salt with strawberry cream cheese dip on the side. The staff are very rude and unprofessional. While I was paying for my order the cashier told the other employee my order so she could make it and she rolled her eyes and yelled out "NO B.S.!!!" and laughed. Regardless of what she meant whether towards my order of no butter or salt or she was referring to something else I felt that was NOT professional at all especially when customers (not only myself) can see and hear her. When my order was called the employee, I believe her name tag said Denisse or something ( same one yelling) gave me my order. Which was wrong because I ordered a pretzel and she gave me pretzel bites, which were doughy and under cooked. At that point I was already pissed off so I didn't want to ask for a correction to be made since it already seemed that my order was an inconvenience to begin with. Whoever owns this franchise should speak to their staff and provide training on customer service etiquette. I miss pretzel maker. read more
