I live in kapolei, so when ever I have to go to Kahala mall (or windward, in today's case I went to kahala to get my iPad checked by Apple) I ALWAYS get myself cinnamon pretzels! I just love how the bread is soft yet chewy, and the consistency of the cinnamon sugar is like powder/dustings that melt in your mouth. I hope pretzel maker can make a come back on the west side cos Aunt Annie's is all we have and it's not doing any justice. read more

If you walk past and there's a line I wouldn't bother ordering from Pretzelmaker. Their workers can't keep up with the demand of the customers. They'll tell you the wait is 5-7min and 10 minutes later you're wondering where your order is. Those who already ordered made a nice a line on the opposite side you order from to wait. The person behind us was a little impatient and spoke up after 10 minutes of waiting. They gave him his order. We then approached them questioning our order and they said it wasn't ready. Our order of pretzel dog bites was similar to their order and because they gave him his order they couldn't no longer fulfill our order. They seriously need to come up with a better system when things get busy for their kiosk. We asked for our money back because we weren't about to wait another 10 minutes for them to fill our order, let alone someone who ordered after us. read more

Very good place the food is great and the staff are nice. The line can be long the food is worth it. I will always come back. I get the mini hot dogs with butter and salt with honey mustard or the pretzel bites with cinnamon and vanilla glaze. The banana smoothie and the mango smoothie is also great. They get two stars because the pretzels tasted good but as for customer service they served it up with a big fat ZERO and an attitude. The short, young guy with no personality took my order and said it would take 7 minutes. Made to order so I could understand that. I came back to the window 10 minutes later and the pretzels were waiting on the grill done. He asked if I was Natalie and I said no my order is sitting over there. He then said let me take this lady's order first. I told him no problem because I figured he would just take the order and then go to get my pretzels that were getting cold. He then continued to get her order and make her pretzels and then get her sauce and then ring her up and then and then and then... I finally said excuse me isn't that my order sitting there getting cold and he said yes it is and then said let me just finish and I said no I have been waiting for so long and I have to leave. He grabbed my pretzels mad, threw it in a bag and practically squashed it and handed it to me. First time, here and I decided to try the Mini Pretzel Dogs! You can get it with different cheeses on top or with different sauces to go with the pretzel dogs. I decided to just get them plain! So, I could just taste them by themselves and not have the taste itself covered up with different flavors added to it. I am glad that I got it plain as it was just very good by itself. When I happen to come to Kahala Mall again. I will try something else from this place again. Sometimes when you're craving something you still get it despite the service, and that's exactly what happened at the Kahala Pretzelmaker. As I was standing in line, the worker was absolutely rude to all the customers in front of me. I mean she had no personality, just quick "what you want?" type of sentences. I freaking LOVE Pretzelmaker. Literally heartbroken when the one in Pearlridge mall closed down. Now it's all Auntie Anne's all over the place, which in my opinion isn't all that good. Anyway!!! I don't frequent the Kahala area too often but when I found out they had a Pretzelmaker.. I'm there at least three times a month. I've never had any problems with the service. Today i stopped pretzelmaker because the kids wanted pretzels. The line wasn't that long so i figured the wait would be minimal...to my surprise not at all the wait felt like forever! So because of the l9ng wait i was noticing more and more of what was going on and the little details. Cashier- you could barely hear her voice because she talks so soft. Her t-shirt was inside out and her hair wasn't even in a hairnet with a hat on? Pretzel assistant- her long hair was in a ponytail but wasn't in a hairnet and nor was she wearing a hat. I thought all food places are suppossed to have hair pulled back in a hairnet with a hat? And the t shirt uniform looks so unprofessional. Made a yelp account just for this I bought a smoothie and some food, was told the wait was only a few minutes so i walked to the side. A few minutes later my name gets called so I walk up and get handed just a smoothie. I didn't know if she forgot to hand me the rest or if it wasn't done yet so I asked "excuse me, is the rest of my order here too or not yet?" and got ignored. I had to flag down someone else who was working there to let me know, which they didn't know context so I felt rude asking them about my order that was put in like 3 minutes ago but I couldn't get a very quick yes or no from the cashier and I needed to know. The guy politely tells me it's almost out, so i thank him and go back to where I was waiting. A few more minutes go by, and the cashier lady calls my name again. This time, she immediately started helping someone at the register (unprompted, she called my name then started the conversation at reg). I had to walk up to the line and stand there awkwardly now wondering if my name was ever called at all. The other two employees working the line were facing away from me so I couldn't flag them down either. After the line cleared up I watched the cashier walk over to the counter, notice my order, and call me over. I don't think i've ever had a more awkward interaction with a fast food business, especially one so avoidable. You would never in a million years catch me being this careless at my workplace. Yesterday I was at Windward Mall running a few errands and decided to stop by Pretzelmaker. I ask Alyssa (sp?) if they have gift cards and after checking said no and didn't know how to do them. Fine. I order a pretzel and leave. About 10 minutes later I sit to enjoy my snack and it was hard and barely edible. I walk back to let her know about it and they are closing shop. I ask the first girl if she's the manager and she points to Alyssa. Alyssa confirms she is not the manager. I then proceed to show her the pretzel and her defense was 'they don't make a new batch at the end of day so I got what was left'. I show her the pretzel again and tell her she shouldn't sell it if it's been sitting awhile; it's not edible. She asks for my name and says she'll have the manager call me. I instead ask for the manager's name. She looks irritated and tells me. I then ask for HER name and she says in a rude and sassy tone "It's Alyssa, do you want me to spell it for you?!" I asked her if she was mad and she says 'no I'm not mad' and I say 'You're acting like you're mad'. At this point she is not looking at me and I leave. Today I walked in and spoke to the manager Casey. She gave me time to share my experience saying she was informed by Alyssa. She not only reimbursed me and gave me a large cup of Pretzel Bites but apologized a few times. She said she would talk to Alyssa and explained they should have made a fresh batch for me. I am big on customer service whether I'm giving or getting it. I am thankful Casey is too. Thank you Casey!! read more

I love their soft pretzels. I especially like their pretzel bites. The location in Kahala mall doesn't serve the variety of pretzels that the one in Ala Moana Mall does. The people who work at this location are nice and always try to get you what you ordered in a timely fashion. If you love fluffy, doughy ropes twisted into a pretzel shape, then you're like me. I love pretzels. I don't care if they contain nothing of nutritional value and are full of nothing besides empty calories that will most likely go straight to my waistline. That is how much I love pretzels. But not any pretzel will do for me. Oh no no no. I've tried the stuff at sports stadiums, convenience stores and even Auntie Anne's Pretzels but none of them can ever dream of coming close to my beloved Pretzelmaker. The name seriously says it all. While Auntie Anne has a shop that sells pretzels, Pretzelmaker is...well....known as the Maker of Pretzels. End of story. I always come to the one in Kahala Mall every single time I come back to Hawaii and get the same thing. The Pizza Stuffed Pretzel, a parmesan cheese pretzel and a jalapeno cheese dip. Omg. Soft, doughy, cheesy goodness that takes me back to the days when I still wasn't able to vote but had a set of brand spanking new wheels that made me feel like I owned the world. Good memories tied with good comfort food. Life rarely gets much better. read more

Honestly, it's not the splurge of the pretzel dog that made me want to write a review. It's the people who were working. Two younger guys were working and they provided the best customer service in a genuine happy friendly way. Even though it was Friday evening, they were happy. I love when people are content and happy with who and where they are. I really appreciated it. They were so nice and sweet. I'll go back just because of the service. The hotdog was actually good too! Tyler loves Pretzelmaker and when I told him I've never eaten here before, he was in such disbelief. We were waiting for out pizzas to finish cooking at Pizza Hut and he insisted that go and eat it because he was starving. I was intrigued by the menu and the way they make the pretzels with different flavorings. The people before us got whole pretzels and those looked amazing. We shared a regular sized cup full of the little bite sized cinnamon and sugared pretzels. I don't know what happened, but I think it may have been love at first bite.. IT WAS SO GOOD. Im a sucker for sweets and that cup of pretzels was loaded with the goods. And let me tell you, the girl working stacked out cup as full as it could get; loving the hook ups. My BF and I both got a side of strawberry creme cheese for dipping and that put it over the top. Pure perfection. We ate that cup within a matter of seconds. On the other hand we were also starving (lol) but I definitely will be paying another visit to this place one day soon read more

Although I'm new to eating pretzels (fresh ones, not the kind that come in a bag from supermarkets), I think this place is pretty great. The wait time is a little depressing when I'm starving, but oh well! My boyfellow adores their pizza pretzel here and he usually orders 2 after we come from our session at CorePower Yoga!! :) I prefer the normal pretzel, butter and salt, with honey mustard. So absolutely heavenly. I also get their li hing icee, which is made well with enough li hing powder and they don't go cheap like some other stores do. Uhhh, I hate to say this, but these ARE NOT PRETZELS. Yes, I was born and raised here, but these white colored, RAW pretzels are just a dissapointment. I think for starters, they would be infinitely better if they cooked these all the way thru. More than once I've bought a pretzel dog or pizza dog or even the little hot dogs only to bite into a RAW dough. To the owners - try a Philly or east coast style pretzel and make some improvements. Please! Even Super Pretzel you throw into the toaster makes better pretzels than you and these are frozen! Pretzels should be a golden toasty brown, crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside. Also, your staff needs to be more attentive. Half the time they don't even want to help you. Sorry, I hate to bash businesses - especially in this economy but your product and your wait help could stand a lot of improvement. Google how to make pretzels - the Amish in Philadelphia are the gods of pretzels. I'm serious, just a little tweaking and I think you could really have something here. Pretzel maker in Kahala Mall needs to really train their employees on giving excellent customer service!! They did not make my order correct and I had to drive back to their location to have them fix my order that I paid for. No apologies were given and they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted a fresh order!! They should've immediately apologized and said they would make me new pretzel bites and even thrown in something free like a free dipping sauce or a free drink for the inconvenience of having to come back to the mall. Customer service sucks at this Pretzelmaker. The management team needs to hire and train the employees to provide outstanding customer service!! read more

Cane here on our way to the movie theater. Don't bother! The workers were very slow. The cashier was literally standing there waiting for the other guy to make a pretzel for a customer instead of taking my order. I'll bet he stood there for 3 minutes. My kids love it, and they always do a great job with the pretzel bites. I ask for extra salt and they glob on as much of the coarse salt that will stick on the oil. I'm sure this is good for the blood pressure, but since my kids are not on any blood thinning medication yet, I let them have at it. If you have three people on shift and the line is long, why not have all three working to expedite the line?! Seriously, if that person is on break (Bluetooth earpiece on, phone in hand) GET OUT of the front area! If someone orders two combos and upgrades one drink to a lemonade, please give me BOTH my beverages?? And for the love of all things customer service.... If someone brings back a purchase with a foreign item in it - never mind it was likely from your beat-to-heck looking butter brush (which I mentally cringed at when I saw it applying the "butter" to my order) - DO NOT try to downplay it as if it is not a concerning matter! Take two seconds to show some damn empathy and apologize for the error! The guy was upset because his kid was chewing on it, for crying out loud! This is why I always hesitate to visit service places with a very young (high school to early college) staff.... Okay, okay.... Bitching rant on service aside, the product was lackluster for the price. The pretzel dog bites were limp, dry, and lifeless. The pretzel bites were soft, but oily and bland, only a few granules of salt were in my cup... the bottom of my cup. The side of cheese sauce definitely wanting. The lemonade was about par for what you expect from such an establishment, but perhaps them forgetting I ordered it in the first place somewhat tarnished the enjoyment. I love pretzelmaker just maybe not this location. They always are in a rush and make customers seem like a hassle. I love the pretzels bites so I usually don't pay any mind to the lack of customer service. I decided to switch it up and try the normal pretzels. I went for the buy 3 get 1 free deal. Big mistake. My pretzels are still so dry and have barely any flavor. I got parmesan and asked for salt still. I'm so disappointed that I paid 10 dollars and it's basically just dry pretzels. read more

It's kind of long to get into detail. But there was theee/four young ladies working (6/10) at around 4 pm. It was busy but I could wait for my pretzel (because I love pretzels that much lol) Anyways, as I'm waiting in line I noticed that the girls didn't pay much attention to their customers. All they cared about was they're own conversation. As my turn came up, I told one girl what I wanted because if I waited for 7 minutes I should have my mind made up. Ordered my bites and the cashier that day said nothing to me. As I went to pay she looks away and starts talking to another girl making the pretzel and I'm just standing there with my money. I politely asked her for my strawberry cream cheese and she just says "there is none" without even looking in the other fridge (another girl laughed and told her to check the other fridge) and then she found it. I was fine with waiting for almost 10 minutes but when I got to the cashier her attitude really changed my prospective on how bad they're customer service was. Then there was two girls behind me and when they were next the worker that was making the pretzels asked what they wanted but they couldn't hear because they were talking. I know they were busy talking to each other but the worker could've nicely interrupted them instead of saying "uh hi hello...hello want anything?" She could've said "hi are you ready?"
