Much like all the reviews have stated, I can say this is a lure using a discounted heart scan offer to get you in the door into an attempted upselling to convince you to sign up for a package of scans costing upwards to $8000 per year. My wife had a last minute feeling while we were there that we should do the full body scan (@ $1000 each) to give us peace of mind, so we went forward with it. The results containing a written report and CD came in the mail a couple weeks later and didn't show any cause for concern or abnormalities. I have no expertise or history to question this scan or their equipment but all I can tell you is a few months later it was revealed I had a high grade 3cm bladder tumor and also a 2 x 3 cm Splenic Artery Aneurysm. In addition I've had an enlarged prostate for several years that impedes the wall of my bladder and has always shown up on previous CTs. NONE of these items were noted on the report! I would be very cautious if you are considering this scan will always find everything from the heart to pelvic area. I called to setup my appointment for their $89 heart CT scan. They asked if I am over 40 and married, I am and I am, but she's under 40. "Well she's not eligible for the scan, but she still has to come in with you". I said no, if she's not getting scanned, she's not taking off work to come in. Looks like I'm not the only one who was lured in for a heart scan and then had to undergo an hour-long tag team of guilt trips and how I should be willing to pay a lot of money to ensure I'm healthy. Then they go as far as to mention someone who came in, a cyclist who "thought" they were healthy and ended up having cancer. Scare Tactic!! I was tag teamed by the owner and the new employee, a timeshare salesperson, before coming to work at PDC. I should've known better. Stay away at any price. Everything was fine leading up to the "couples" special for a heart scan. Right away we were introduced to a salesperson trying to upsell for full body scans at over $1,000 per person. Not horrible but we wanted to think about it AND see how the heart scans went. We were told that if there was a problem we would receive a phone call in a few days. After 8 days and hearing nothing we figured we would get our results in the mail. Then we both received phone calls from an "unknown" caller, our phones sent the calls straight to voice mail. My husband's message rambled on and didn't really address any issues, at all. A full body calcium scan should cost no more than $350 at your hospital's imaging/diagnostic center. You will mostly have to pay "out of pocket" for this. A full body calcium scan saved my life and identified blockages that led to an eventual quadruple bypass. Until the scan, it was undetected as I had no symptoms. I paid $350 (and that's on the high end) for the scan at a doctors office. He happened to own a scanner. Your medical center/hospital should be able to perform the same test for less. This company infuriates me because they are ripping people off. $1995 for a full scan and doctor evaluation is a farce! Do not sign up for this! Check with your doctor and local hospital FIRST! The doctor (if you can call him one) graduated from a 3-rate school, whose specialty degree is about the level of a chiropractor. I don't trust these folks. I tried calling to make an appointment for 3 people who wanted to do some preventive maintenance and make sure that we were taking care of our health and had no issues. We saw an advertisement (and also had a couple friends who had the scan done) that was $125 seemed like a good deal and something we could do to make sure that we are on the right path and we wanted to do it together to support each other. I called and spoke with 2 people, the first lady who answered the phone said that she needed to ask me a few questions to see if we qualify. She asked a couple medical questions and then asked if I was married (I guess that was the 1st red flag because who cares if I am married or not, what does that have to do with a heart scan). I told them yes. She then said that my husband has to be with me on the day of the appointment. I told her that I have 2 other friends that would be joining me and that if it was a matter of bringing multiple people, I had that covered. She said that I had to have my husband with me to get a scan. I told her that my husband already had a scan done through his Cardiologist and that he was not going to get the scan there. I asked why would I need my husband with me to have a scan done as I am fully capable of making medical and financial decisions myself. I can take care of myself and can go get things done without him and do all the time (I can't remember the last time he was with me for a doctor visit......we are not in the 1800's). She said again, that to qualify, he had to be with me even if he was not getting the scan himself. I kept asking why that was and she got flustered and passed me off to a manager. I have been in sales my whole life and I know what this means.....so she passed me off to her boss (it's called a T.O. "Takeover" in the sales world). He got on the phone and asked where I saw their ads and I said, "multiple ways", I started to explain that I had friends who had the scan done and before I could finish he interrupted me and said that I would not qualify. I asked why and he said that my husband had to be there with me even if he wasn't getting a scan done. So to be clear, for me to have this scan, I have to bring my husband to sit in the waiting room and then I would qualify?! So obviously I know what is going on....they have a big sales pitch and want to lock you in a room (just like a timeshare) and put the pressure on you to get more scans so that you can't use the excuse, "I need to think about it and I need to talk to my spouse". Because usually when you leave, they have lost a sale. The man was extremely rude during the entire conversation and raised his voice several times!! He was getting mad that I was asking questions about bringing my spouse when all we wanted to do is book 3 people to get the heart scan done. I asked how do single people get scans done and he said because they are single and they can't bring a spouse. So I asked how do you know that people are single or married and he said that hopefully people are telling the truth. So there is your in if you are married and still want to book a scan with this scam of a company.....just make sure you say that you are single and then you don't have to worry about bringing your spouse. How would they ever know if you are married or not?! Just make sure to take your ring off before going inside. :-P So I get it and so should you now.....they do not care about your health or giving you what you need take care of your health, they care more about upselling you on other scans and making sure that the decision makers are all there at the time so that you can make a decision that day. I would be very skeptical making an appointment with this company who obviously just wants to get you in the door with a cheap scan and gouge you on multiple other scans. Whatever scam of a doctor is here (who nobody has seen), obviously never took the Hippocratic Oath, which is to uphold a number of ethical standards when dealing with patients. My small piece of advice is, go to your regular doctor and ask for the same scan and you will likely only have a copay or coinsurance and it will be cheaper, more accurate and you will be talking to a real doctor that you trust to go over the results with you and not just a piece of paper that is mailed to you with nobody to talk to about your results. My husband did it and only had a $50 copay. Lesson Learned!! I hope this will save a lot of people from making a mistake. Last year was a very stressful year, I lost my friend, who was only 45 to pancreatic cancer. The anxiety that I developed from actually witnessing her death along with a pulled muscle in my neck and a pinched nerve under my collar bone finally came to a head this January when I started having stabbing chest pains along with shortness of breath. After blood work and an EKG, my doctor believes I had a full blown panic attack which was something I've never experienced and I'm sure didn't handle well. I went into my appointment at Preventive Diagnostics only intending on getting the heart scan done to make sure I had no blockages. Initially after our consultation, my husband and I both agreed that we were still only going to have the initial heart scan that we went for, but I hated the feeling of waking up every day worrying that something is wrong with me due to the way I've been feeling, so I decided on the full body scan. Our appointment was on Tuesday and our results were in the mailbox on Saturday. Can I tell you the anxiety I experienced waiting for those results, hoping to not get a call telling me that they found something was so overwhelming! Well... The results were all good, with the exception of some gallstones, not one bit of blockage in my arteries, no abnormalities or masses. Now, I can put all of my fears behind me and move forward. If I'm being honest, you cant put a price on that. In all actuality, I'm probably going to invest in one of their packages for future piece of mind. So, to all those people who have nothing but negative to say about how they reel you in with their "Specials", I'd have to say that's pretty smart marketing on their part. Beware of this place. I went in based on a promotion for $125.00. After 1 1/2 hour sales pitch of trying to sell us a $7500-10k 5 year 8 scans pitched with a false narrative from a sales person who is not a RN, NP, or Doctor who claimed lab work is not always accurate. In fact there is no doctor on site, or Register Nurse or radiologist. The Doctor they promote is a stick figure and does not participate in the overall care. once you go in the sales person pushes for the upgrade to 3 or 5 year plan and offers financing (keep in mind you are prepaying this 3 or 5 year plan), however they offer no guarantee that the company will still be open or not file for bankruptcy in the proceeding 5 years of service you prepaid and or obtained a credit card that you will be stuck with should this company go belly-up. The sales person reply was that the company allegedly paid 1million in cash for the CT scanner and that they are opening multiple locations. Nonetheless this company should be investigated for fraud as its selling a service it may not be able to fulfill and taking money from desperate patients. Last note, I will reporting my interactions to medical board, Attorney General office and Radiology board of the scheme and how none clinical people are giving medical advice about there scans. read more

When he said yes, they would only allow him to book an appointment if he brought his spouse, even though he only bought the scan for one person, and there is nowhere on the Voucher that stipulates you have to bring your spouse. The salesperson was aggressive, very scam-salesperson-like. She warned us, if you don't bring your wife, we will charge you $599. She put him on hold. Follow up review. I just reviewed mine and my wife's scans. I feel bad for anyone who left a good review excited about their great scan results. There is no mention of my wife's Scoliosis it's so obvious in scans.. she has had her back looked at many times it's an ongoing issue it is like a inverted S and there is zero mention about this in her scan from them. She supposedly has 0 calcium build up which I don't believe since mine came back the same 0 and I am 46 and used to eat like crap plus I'm supposed to be on med for my heart and I've had real heart scans that show some blockage a few years back. Plus they said my wife's Gallbladder looks great which is weird since she don't even have one.. It was removed ‍. I also have several issues that I have seen scans of that im dealing with and nothing was mentioned about that stuff either. It just says everything is great. This is a scam!! Beware!! A lady came out, introduced herself, and said that she would be doing our "consultation". She then takes you through a tour of the office, including showing you the diploma of the doctor. You then are taken into an office where you are put through a 30 minute presentation, pressuring you to sign up for $3,000 for you and your spouse to each get a full body scan. They let you know that they offer financing. But once you let them know that you don't want to commit to $3,000 until you've had a chance to think about it, that's when they seem to lose interest in you. You are led back to the room where they perform the 5 minute scan that you have already paid for, and then tell you that you'll get your results in the mail in about a week, and have a nice day. Honestly, by that time, I just wanted to get it over with and get out of there. And let me add this. The doctor. I don't even know if he's even in the building. You never meet this doctor. And if you read all the other reviews, not a single review ever mentions ever meeting with this doctor. His picture is plastered all over the place. During their sales pitch, there's a magazine on the table with his picture on the cover. But you never actually meet this doctor. I left feeling like I had done absolutely nothing for my health. I felt like I had just wasted $125. All I can say is this. Maybe you and your spouse do want to do the dual full body scans, for $3,000. That would be the only way I would recommend doing this. I booked an appt on line and was later contacted and told I had to bring my husband with me for some reason (very strange)! I told them my husband would not be coming and they told the scan would be $599. I then called to another (legit) diagnostic center and they told me cash price would be $138 another one I called was $300. Both much less than $599 they charge. Before I signed up for my heart scan, I did a lot of research as many of us do these days. I knew that going in for a heart scan that it was their "lost leader" service to get you in and see if they could sell you on other services. They can't keep everyone employed with just a few $125 (or less if you go through Groupon with a spouse) scans. I went in prepared for a hard sell - instead, the person who was my "salesperson" was one of the owners. He did take me back to show me the diplomas of the doctors that work with the clinic - this made sense because it instills confidence in the fact that this isn't some "hack job" without any medical basis behind it. He did show me posters that demonstrated what other services that they provide, including a non-sedated colonoscopy alternative - which I didn't really qualify for because I had one just a few years ago. We then went into his office, he asked some health screening questions - and after that, he asked if I wanted to hear about the other services they provide or if I just wanted to get my heart scanned. I really expected what other people were complaining about - a "timeshare presentation". One didn't come. If I had said that I just wanted to go get my heart scan done now, that would have been it. Because I was expecting a presentation, I decided to ask about the other services. He explained what they offer, what packages were available, and the costs. No hard sell. No pressure. No scare tactics. He and I had a great conversation about health, diagnostic procedures and their benefits, and who benefits most from them. When I chose not to take any of the other services (which I am actually still considering now that I got my other results so quickly) he didn't get mad, or pressure me - he just gave me the brochures and his business card and said that if I changed my mind, just reach out. He then escorted me to the scanning waiting area and 5 minutes later I was in the scanner. 10 minutes later I was out the door and he greeted me on the way out. I can't imagine things going any more pleasantly. I went in on a Tuesday and I got my results in the mail on Friday. They indicated that if there was something significant with the results, they would call me before mailing them out. They did everything they promised - everyone was nice from the front desk, to the salesman, to the person operating the scanner - and now I know where I am at with my heart for 5 minutes in a machine and $125. I am considering going back to get a full body scan done - and this experience was very pleasant - not like some of the pretty radically negative reviews I have seen on here. The first red flag of course is that you are required to bring your spouse. That is to play on the heath fears we all have and in hopes that one spouse will buy into the sales pitch. You cannot go in and get the heart scans and leave. You must agree to listen to the sales pitch . The owner refunded my money after we got into it about the reviews and sales pitch. We had Life Science scans in CA and thought this was similar, my advice is like the others mentioned, stay away , go see your doctor and they will order the same scans and probably cheaper through insurance copy. I plan on checking with the NV AG office to see if their practices are legal. This happened a few years ago. My husband and I were there for their $125 Heart CT Scan with Calcium Score promotion advertised on TV. Super sweet receptionist. Clean facility. Once the heart scan was done, then this "sales person" came with his 60-minute "sales" presentation in the back of the facility then in his office trying to upsell us on other scans he said we "need." Once we said we would have to think about it since we were there only for the heart scan promo deal, that was when his attitude totally changed from friendly to cold. A few weeks later, when my husband, as curious as he was, decided to give it a try and reached out to them, the same "sales person," then, became friendly again. He even introduced us to the radiologist after we had paid in full for their 5-year full body scan plan. We received our test results weeks later both in the mail and on the phone with Dr. Pierce himself. What I found strange was my results that came back "unremarkable" despite the fact that I have actually had a few minor medical issues that could never be missed/misinterpreted on any CT scan yet were not mentioned in the report. Dr. Pierce, with whom my husband was on the phone about his results, was friendly and pleasant. He also recommended an amazing cardiologist to my husband; hence, three stars. read more

I also was duped by the inaccurate fine print. "Couple's option valid only for you and a significant other. Couples are required to attend appointments together." I DID NOT PURCHASE THE COUPLE'S OPTION. It should state: even if you only pay for yourself, IF you are married your spouse must attend. Mind you, this was a $79.20 groupon for a heart scan with calcium score. I strongly believe there are HIPAA Laws against this policy. Privacy rules apply between couples. My main objection was making my husband attend when I certainly don't accompany him on his medical appointments. This smacks of a scam for more business. I'm pleased they apparently help some asymptomatic people. However, I'll go elsewhere. read more

I went online to make an appointment after seeing a commercial thinking it was a good idea to check on my heart. Today some lady called me to inform me that my wife who is in healthcare and works the same business hours they are open HAS to come with me so they can try to up sell us on other products. Needless to say I'm not going to make my wife take a day off work when this grownup can speak and make educated decisions for himself. They cancelled my appointment on me after I said she couldn't come. Really bad business practices and I've already told my coworkers stay away and I will tell many more people too. read more

They bash on how insurance companies manage their business then sell the supposedly life saving technology like a used car. They got me, even heard the salesman whisper my rate to someone who called me "low hanging fruit." I was interested in getting a heart scan so I put my information in online. They called me pretty much right away and found out that I was married but my husband had just had surgery and was under a doctors's care and didn't need it so I was not interested in having him do the scan but I was very interested in getting the scan for myself. The man then told me that the heart scan special was only for couples and that I couldn't schedule one for myself. He then hung up on me. This is my only contact with the business so I don't know how it is but it makes me think if they will only have couples come in that they are trying to sell something to couples. I'm sure there are other diagnostic places where I can get a heart scan done, and I will be going to the other places. read more

I bought a groupon for this place for my husband and son. I called to set up an appointment and was told I have to come with my husband and my daughter-in-law must come with my son. My Dil works full time and can't take the time off. They then agreed she did not have to come. I on the other hand I watch our grandson everyday and told them if I must come I have to bring him. The supervisor then said I may not bring him. They want you to sit through a 1 hour schpeel so they can up sell you who knows what. This place seems like a big rip off and I am now getting my money back from Groupon . read more

This is NOT a scam, but the way medicine should be practiced! As an RN I can tell you if we had REAL health insurance in the USA these scans would be part of preventative health care. But we don't and it isn't coming anytime soon (insurance makes too much $ from treating your heart attack after you have it!). Everyone we met at PDC from the receptionist to the doctor was great! Answered all our questions in an honest, friendly, and direct manner (no aggressive sales -Brett R. describes exactly what happened with us). Initially went in for the cardiac scan with my wife because the cost was very reasonable (expect $200++, each, via insurance - after you spend the time getting your doctor to order it). We upgraded to the multi-year full body scan package and we are very glad we did because we want to stay healthy for a long time to come. Everyone at PDC is passionate about providing a high-quality service here because they know they are helping people live longer and better. Expect to be treated like a person and not just a number here. Yes, it costs money, but the cost is reasonable for what you are getting! I think we are very lucky to have them in Las Vegas! read more

After reading some of these reviews I was somewhat skeptical as to what I was getting into. To my surprise I found this to be a pleasant and enlightening experience. I was amazed at the bredth of product that this technology offers After completing my whole body screening and viewing my results. I am happy to say I will be back year after year. With this it puts me in control. read more
