Did you really go to Pittsburgh if you didn't go to Primanti's? The food was great! Sandwich was fresh and delicious. Service was subpar. Restaurant cleanliness could use some work.

First time trying it. Was disappointing

The sandwiches are not good. I'm new to Pittsburgh so of course I had to come to Primanti Bros at least once just to say I did it. I've done it and I have absolutely no desire to do it again. The famous sandwich with thick, flavorless white bread was not worth my time at all. Even the toppings and meat inside the sandwich tasted plain. But honestly, the batches mask the flavor of everything else. I really can't get over how bad the bread was. The french fries and the sandwich were decent on their own but also nothing special. The drinks are probably the better part of this chain, especially when you go for the late night happy hour. The service and ambience were fine no complaints on that but really, you could skip out on the food and be satisfied with your life.

We were driving thru town and were told by Yinz that Primanti Bros is a Pittsburgh fixture, with locations scattered throughout the city. Serving up piping hot sandwiches for around $10-12, fries are generally served on the sammy but I made the rookie mistake of saying "fries on the side". Either way, a great Sammy with a hometown feel.

Always my favorite place in the Burgh!! Home for the holidays with the family we made this a mandatory stop for lunch. It's been years since I was on the Southside (20+ years!) and I still remember fondly going to Mario's, and Nick's Fat City. A few newer places but eh same great feel. Lunch was outstanding as expected. Our server was very friendly and explained the history of Primanti's to my girls who had never been there. She was very welcoming and helped with our sandwich selections. I had the pastrami with cheese, my oldest daughter had Turkey with cheese, my son got corn beef and cheese my youngest daughter got ham and cheese and my wife got the cappicola & cheese. All were full and happy when we were finished. This staple of the culture will remain at the top of my list when in the Burgh. Thanks!

Classic yinzer carb load. I don't get to this location super often but first time trying one of their tall boys which came with cap, Bologna, pepperoni, AND salami (for basically the same price as a double meat classic). Added fried egg and caramelized onions as well. Classic sandwich. Service solid. Better draft list would really add it to the rotation...

Came in for some comfort food on a cold Rainey day and wasn't disappointed. One of my favorite sandwiches by far. I appreciated staff's courteousness, too.

Average at best. Service was great, nice waitress + speedy service. My boyfriend and I went around 4:30pm on a Friday. It was pretty empty but a few people at the bar. Long story short: this food was... just not good. I got the Pittsburger and my boyfriend got the Capicola. Bread was dry, burger was dry, there is NO sauce on it, and the flavor is mostly the vinegar cole slaw. It's cool that there's fries in the sandwich but the whole thing tasted like sawdust. I would not recommend it and would never go back. We just kept hearing how we "had to have it." And I have no idea what the hype is. The 3 stars is for the nice waitress and the red creme soda, which was pretty good.

Enjoyed the food & casual atmosphere with some friends. One sandwich easily makes 2 meals

Notes of spice, wood, nuts, and slight fruit. The taste was great, but just smelling it was pretty intense. The salmon dish was great. The ginger carrot mash was seasoned and puréed enough that it didn't taste like eating just carrots. They cooked the salmon too perfectly to my liking. The service was excellent too - laid back, friendly but they didn't play either about getting your order on time. Solid bar/restaurant, 8.5 / 10.

I wanted to place a carryout order. I first tried online but there was a glitch somewhere in the system. I called instead. When the phone was answered, the background noise was intense. It was so loud that the employee couldn't hear me. At that point I decided to just go in and order. When I walked into Urban Tap, the noise was almost deafening. Music blaring, voices raised to be heard. No one was using their "inside voices", they couldn't. I sat at the bar to order. I never got waited on. I finally caught the attention of one of the bartenders and was ready to place an order. We leaned towards each other, yelling to try to be heard. I couldn't hear her when she read back my order. I really wasn't sure what I'd be getting. Unfortunately, I did get what I ordered - brunch breads and an order of biscuits. It took quite a while to get food - no surprise there. I checked our food when I got it. Oh Lordy, those biscuits looked good. This southern girl appreciates a good biscuit and did these look good. I got the food to the car and we headed out on the next leg of our adventure. About an hour later, I just had to grab one of those golden, flaky discs. Butter? Jam? Nah, the biscuits looked like they could solo on their own. I took one bite and my eyes flew open - not from the deliciousness, it was because of the sheer amount of salt. That can't be right so I took another small bite. I tried a teeny bite of the next biscuit. Salt. The biscuits were inedible. No, I don't mean that I didn't like the flavor. They contained so much salt that there was no way someone could eat these. That's ok, there was the banana bread French toast. It looked a little dark in color but it never crossed my mind that this might not be normal. I took a bite. It tasted odd, off, something wasn't right. My husband pegged it - it was burned. Before grilling or after? No idea. There were also a couple of donut holes. Not even worthy of a second bite. I also ordered fruit. It was good but still not enough to save the meal from dismal failure. We won't be back .

My fiancé got the Black Watch burger and loved it! I tried a lil bite and liked it! There was a lil spicy kick to it which was nice. We both agreed that the fries were good, but were plain and could've been seasoned a little more. They were pretty thick (bordering on steak fries) so they weren't super crispy (we love crispy) But the fries dipped in ranch and mustard were solid - they have really good ranch!! Super cool & cozy pub!

Fries are the kind that have some sort of breading and are nice and crispy. Today I got the BLT and I would definitely get it again! Usually the service is very good, but I'm going to be honest, it was pretty sad today. My girlfriend and I agreed it seemed like the bartender both hated his job, and was not good at it. The food is good, as long as you go in with the right expectations. This isn't fine dining, but it's a nice take on vegetarian-accessible pub food, slightly elevated. The vegan tofu wrap was nicely done with crispy fried tofu, but it was heavily dependent on the availability of various sauces for flavor. The "disc brake bean cakes" were somewhat unique, but still good when fully assembled with all the relevant toppings. They would probably be better described as black bean crepes with Tex-Mex toppings. I highly recommend ordering several different sauces to go with your meal (buffalo, barbecue, diablo, etc.). We ordered takeout this time, and the overall ordering experience was good. There is an online ordering page, but the items on that page aren't completely aligned with menus on the web site. We ended up calling to place an order, which was still very easy. All the food was well packaged and ready to go exactly when they said it would be. This is a great South Side destination, especially when you're looking for something comfortable and relatively low key but still fun.
