Cheesy bread, spaghetti and 1lb Kobe meatball, spicy lobster capellini.

Prime was recommended to me as a great restaurant with huge portions. I saw that the reviews were at 3.5 and was surprised because the people that recommended it know good food. I have to say, that this is one of the better Italian restaurants I've eaten at. The portions are ridiculous but the quality and taste is outstanding. The restaurant itself is nice. A little dark and inviting. The service was splendid. Mike was our waiter. He's was extremely attentive despite how busy it was.

Prime Italian was a great experience. We had the mushroom risotto, Caesar salad, and branzino, all done really well. The biggest surprise of the night was the Philly cheesesteak, easily a standout and not what I expected in the best way. Solid food, good vibe, and definitely a spot I'd come back to.

No reservation on a Sunday night, yet was an easy walk in for a large group. Really just coming here to say the service was incredible. I've worked in fine dining restaurants for a few years and they really didn't miss a beat of any little detail. Always a "pardon my reach," good pacing of the dishes to the table, a great attitude. I'm not a huge fan of dining at red sauce-style Italian spots since so much of it can be easily made at home, so I'm not gonna say food wise that this was super memorable (the welcome garlic cheese bread was incredible though), but everything was prepared well even if it wasn't very creative cooking. Very expensive.

This is the BEST garlic bread I have ever eaten. Omg.

First time dining at Prime Italian. I was excited to try it. The restaurant was only somewhat busy when we arrived. This was probably due to the rainy weather. When we left, they were packed! I highly suggest making a reservation, which I had done. We started with their complimentary garlic bread. Holy moly! This stuff is Goooood. It is a little greasy, but not too much. It is so good that I ordered a whole loaf to bring home. The sauce is a nice added touch. I love red sauce and this one is amazing. The Italian house salad is very good. There is soppressata in it. I asked for it on the side but it was very good. There is also hearts of palm which is awesome and a rare find. The dressing was very good. Our server dropped a piece of lettuce as she was serving our salads and puts it back in the bowl with the leftover salad. Not the most hygienic thing to do but ok. This was a bowl we were still going to take salad from. The chicken parmigiana was ok. It's not bad or anything but it's funny because I actually prefer the one I make. This is odd because I am not an expert cook or anything. I do like theirs just not in love with it. The size of it is huge!!! That is definitely enough for four people. We did not even eat half. The dessert is their version of a "hoho" cake. Our server offered ice cream instead of the included toasted marshmallow sauce which I was unsure I would enjoy. This cake is kind of good? Also, did not love it. The highlights were the definitely the bread and the salad.

We came here for their Miami Spice menu and I was quite surprised.. although the portions are small, between the appetizer, entree and dessert, I was stuffed. My husband and I ordered two passion fruit margaritas.. they were not good at all. The waiter was so nice and tried to fix it but I think it was more in the bartender than him. Any how, I ended up ordering a glass of wine instead. For My appetizer I ordered Tuna Tartare, Entree, spicy Rigatoni, dessert, fried Oreos with ice cream. I don't usually come to Miami Beach, but it was nice to step out the house on a Saturday night.. the ambiance in the restaurant was nice, it's a bit dark inside, however, you can sit outside. Service was good, our food did not overlap each other and they came out with good temperature. Overall, it was a time well spent with family!

I love love this place. I always visit when I come to Miami.. I typically sit at the bar and it's always chill..:: they have the game on different TVs. Drinks are good and strong. The food is always good.. the cheesy bread is my fav. The rigatoni I had this time was under whelming but not nasty I just have had better 6/10... the lobster ravioli is pretty good... needed a little salt . 7/10...

I went to Prime Italian exactly one month ago and now is when I am getting around to review it, but I had to because I had such a nice experience! I know they have been around now for a long while, but this was my first time going and I had a great time! To start off, I was very impressed by our server, which I unfortunately forgot his name. He was sooo attentive, informative, and helpful. What I really loved about here was that as a lot of dishes are family style, the server would actually go around and serve your plate for you with different dishes. I thought that was such a nice touch and have not seen this done before anywhere else in Miami! Lastly, all our food was yummy! Their bread is to die for! And i also loved the spicy rigatoni! Everything was tasty! I will def be back!

Delicious. Came for Miami spice with a group. Started with the calamari, it was ok. Entre: Short Rib Risotto, exceeded my expectations, and for dessert panna cotto. Desert was light and fluffy, full of flavor. Servers were really nice and they were all helpful. Everything was soo good. Valet parking available across the street and prime 112.

Ask the Community - Prime Italian

Is there a sharing charge?

There is not a sharing charge; but most meals are DEFINITELY large enough to share. Portion sizes are very generous.

How's the parking ? Self parking or valet?

I recommend parking in the public parking lot that is roughly a block away. No need to pay for valet!

In a group of 4, where 3 are wearing business casual attire, would it be OK for one to wear khaki shorts and a dress shirt, or would he feel out of place?

No Khakis at a place like this. I know it's hot in Miami, but people dress up there. And going to dinner in shorts is never truly okay, unless you're at a bbq.

My friends and I had just returned from a cruise and had one evening to enjoy in Miami. As…read morecarnivores, we thought this restaurant would be an appropriate choice for dinner. We were so surprised and impressed by the service, quality, value, and execution of food. Alberto was our main waiter who was supported by additional staff who were friendly and attentive- simply professional and hospitable. We tried the ham croquettes, melted cheese with chorizo, and fried calamari for starters; and the tomahawk, rib eye, and picana steaks as our mains. The croquettes were so delicious with two dipping sauces- the green herbal one was a perfect pairing. The melted cheese was excellent, prepared and presented in a cast iron skillet with crisp edges. The fried calamari was delightful as well with large fresh pieces and accompanied by fried zucchini chips amidst the calamari. The stars of the show were the meats that were prepared just the way we wanted and like. Each person in our group ranked the meats in different order but we loved the taste with the sides- sweet potato fries, regular fries, grilled corn, and the salt and sauces. The meal was better than expected and just what we needed. We left very happy, very satisfied, and very grateful for the experience. Thanks to Alberto and team!

To start, I was trying to eat at Tapelia and when we asked to be seated we were put in Ole Ole…read morerestaurant which was confusing but we went with it as we didn't want to sit outside. A short recap of the restaurant is the food is not worth the wait at all! We placed our order of drinks, appetizers and main dishes at 2:57. The restaurant was at maybe 60-70% capacity. Our drinks came relatively fast. When we noticed our patrons next to us had already almost finished their appetizers despite being seated AFTER we placed our order we started getting annoyed that our guacamole appetizer hadn't even appeared despite it now being 3:20! When Henry, the manager, asked if we were ok, we asked where our appetizers were in a respectful way and our waitress, Adriana, came by immediately saying, "you only ordered 5 min ago" with such atrocious attitude that wouldn't even be suited for an off Highway Diner. Henry did a great job trying to lighten the experience, and our guacamole did arrive shortly after. Then at 3:45 when we hadn't seen our waitress once since the previous encounter, and our main dishes hadn't arrived we went straight for Henry and he said, "oh you're food is done, are you ready for them?" As if we had to ask versus them arriving when done. They came immediately after. Henry offered to remove one of our appetizers for the trouble but did not. Which is fine, we hadn't expected it, though it was more just annoying as he said he would. I love to tip good service, though this is a prime example of why it is not ok for 20% to be automatically included in a check. The patrons next to us had a different server and their food came out with great time and they seemed to have the experience we were hoping for when we arrived. So I would have happily tipped their server 20%, however Adriana did not deserve hers and by automatically getting it there is no way for her to be motivated to improve. Onto food, three of us ordered a salad with steak, I forget the name but the steak was so hard to cut and even harder to chew. The other in our group ordered the Chiro Burger? And there was chorizo in it, and lacked flavor per him. The guacamole was delicious as were the fries but the melted cheese with chorizo was not good. Miami has such amazing food, so I'd skip this place.

After looking at the reviews I presented Mareva 1939 as my top choice. I contacted them and made a reservation for 10 people, and after the first reservation time I had to adjust with Mareva for people arriving in late because of flights. No problem for Mareva and they didn't need a deposit for the restaurant. It is in the National Hotel, next to where we are staying box 1 check. The place was beautifully decorated and staff all attentive throughout the night. That was my criteria not my boss' since the lack of good service can destroy a great meal. The food choices all were excellent but centered on tapas and Spanish cuisine which checked the second box. Served family style we all chose a number of different tapas and shared. Then large patella dishes, they were plentiful and all delicious. Lastly the price, which may seem high for those outside the area but not for those who know Miami Beach. The bill for the 10 of us that included several drinks person and enough food and desserts to leave us full came to $1,002 including tip and taxes. All boxes checked and my boss and team happy, Mareva 1939 was a huge success.
