I needed a new ignition lock cylinder and the old one drilled out. I'm trying to get to work as soon as I can, so when these guys tell me on the phone they can be here at 9am, I cancel the other guys who were on the way for a 10am ETA. As soon as I cancel them, Prime calls back to tell me it'll be more like 11am. That's no small error, that's TWO HOURS DIFFERENCE. Guy checks again and says 10:30. I won't get anywhere by switching locksmiths all morning, so I say fine. Well, guess when someone makes it to my car - 11am, the worst of the presented scenarios. Off to a bad start and I'm definitely going to be late for work now. Diagnosis confirms that the cylinder needs to be drilled out and I'm quoted $700 for a job some research tells me should be closer to $300. Again, I can't be chasing better locksmiths all morning, so I reluctantly give the OK to proceed. The work will now take several more hours because the guy doesn't have parts even though I told someone on the phone exactly what the problem was and what kind of car I have, so now I'm hoping I'm not fired for being so late. I have to Lyft to work (and back, so let's add that $40 to the cost of all this). On top of that, I don't even get to open and turn on my car with the same key. Gotta have two keys in my pocket now, which is twice as many as I ever wanted, and that's just an inconvenience that will remind me of this bad experience every time I use them. When I expressed some frustration at this two key business, the guy doing the drilling just shrugged it off as though he didn't want to be bothered with that much work. That's when I should have told him to drill the cylinder out and stop there. I got home from work, found my keys where I asked the guy to stash them, tested them... and found a big pile of steel shavings all over the floor of my car. That's insult to injury. Couldn't even clean up the mess... I would not recommend this locksmith. Almost everything that could go wrong for me in this situation did go wrong. I didn't see the side of this company that's behind all these 5-star ratings. I thought this would be easier than doing it all myself with instructions from the internet, but I think I was wrong about that. The one star added onto the lowest available rating here is simply because the ignition turns now and it didn't before. Mission accomplished. Eventually. Now I know better and I hope you do too. read more

I was very unhappy with the service I received. I had all of the locks at my place replaced after a break in. First, the technician made it very clear that he was in a rush to be done. Which ultimately showed in the work that he did. I had so many problems. First, I noticed right after he left that one of the deadbolts didn't lock because the strike plate wasn't lined up properly. I noticed this right after he left, so I called and he came back to "fix" it. I didn't notice til later that he just removed the strike plate and left it that way. The next day I noticed that one of the door knob locks didn't lock, because it couldn't click into place, again because the strike plate was misaligned. I didn't want to have to call the technician to come back again, so I had my boyfriend fix it. While he was fixing that, he began checking all the newly installed locks/door knobs and every one was missing at least 1 screw and he had to fix that as well. Then I realized I had not received any kind of receipt from the technician. So I called the office and requested the receipt. When I got it, I noticed I had been charged for 1 more lock than I had recieved. When the technician was replacing one of my locks, I noticed he put in a different kind of lock than what was originally on the door, and I asked him to use the same kind of lock I had before. He charge me full price, around $300 for the lock and the work for the incorrect lock he installed and then removed. I called the main office to complain. The person at the office told me I needed to speak directly to the technician directly because there was nothing he could do to help me, and that the technician would reach out. Shortly after that, the technician called me 10 times in a row in about a 5 minute span, while I was at work. Which, honestly, just felt intimidating and I didn't want to deal with this guy if he was going to be that aggressive, especially after dealing with a pretty traumatizing home invasion, so I just gave up. So yea, don't bother with this place. read more

Let me start off by saying that everyone has different experiences and i am writing a honest review of my experience with this company for others to read when consider hiring. My entrance gate lock has been an ongoing problem. The latch bolt was barely hanging on to the strike plate and very easy to open if someone wanted. I decided i wanted it fixed finally and was looking for someone who had excellent ratings and i always try to hire nearby businesses. I called here and they sent someone out within 2 hrs! He took a look and determined that the latch bolt was glitchy and that the entire strike plate was off. My cement posts are sinking a little. I wanted to perhaps change the style of my lock and he suggested a manual without battery. He left and came back with 2 locks to choose from which i thought was nice for me to choose and save time. I decided to go with what he called an updated version of mine but because my door was thick i would need to custom solder a metal piece. I knew he was going to jack up the price of what the lock was worth and the time to custom and install. He came back and installed and moved the strike plate up and then handed me a whopping bill of $910!! $350 for a $110 lock on amazon. Lesson. Buy your own lock and have it install. $200 to customize it. $365 for labour. I have a system where i can buzz someone in. When i tried it , it was sticky and not working smoothly. He started to tell me it was not his problem with the striker not working as he had not installed it! It was working perfectly fine before. He had moved it which i was good with in order to make the lock close properly. I just wanted a working lock! Thats the whole point. It was awkward and he finally sprayed some oil on it and it worked. Great. The next day i discovered that the lock he replaced looked like my old lock but it did not have the same lock in the back so i can unlock for the gardeners or deliveries. Because he had already customized it, i am stuck with it. Was it my mistake because i did not ask for the exact lock or have him show me the back piece or his because he did not tell me i would be loosing that feature? Then a few days later i saw my door wide open. I thought the delivery man forgot to close it until i discovered the electric latch was stuck and did not work. I called the company to have it fixed thinking that it would be free since they installed a new lock and fixed it. I paid a fortune for it. Same guy came back and said it was not his job since he did not install the electric latch. He had moved it up so it would align with the new lock. There never was a problem before with the latch. After a long back and forth conversation again about the latch, i understood he was going to charge me extra to fix it. I was so mad, i had to go in the house and call the company to explain what had happened. They wanted to talk to him. Fine. By the time i hung up, i noticed the guy was gone. Walked out and the door was fixed. Why on earth put me through all that? Happy it was fixed but i never got a call back from the company and it was definitely unpleasant and expensive. Would i use them again or recommend? Nope. Not with my experience with them. read more
