I have been to this restaurant many times and by far this was my worst experience. My husband and family took me here for my birthday and I ordered the filet medium well. It came out rare. I told the gentleman who served me and he asked if I wanted him to take it back. I said yes i can't eat it rare. It came out five minutes later and I told my waitress it was still rare. Instead of apologizing she walked away. My husband told her after ten minutes had gone by, to take it off the bill along with the mashed potatoes that were cold. Stopped at Prime twice recently and was impressed the first time I had the AHI Tuna and it was one of the best tuna entrée in quite awhile. I ordered it again on the second trip expecting it wouldn't live up to my expectations. But it did both times I substituted grilled vegetables for the noodles and they too were excellent. On the second trip I was with a large group (12), Several had the tuna and agreed with my assessment, a couple of steaks and one the pork chop. as a whole the group was satisfied with their meal the one exception was one of the steaks was a bit overcooked. We were disappointed with the mangers response, he didn't really seem to be too concerned. The food overall was good, but the prices were ridiculous in my opinion. I felt like I was in New York when the bill came. The level of service did not match the price tag. At the major steakhouses, you want for nothing during your dining experience. At 111 we constantly had to flag down our server. I went here for brunch to celebrate a friends birthday and really wasn't impressed. Let me start with the good things about this place (because that's a shorter list): the bottomless mimosas are bomb and the atmosphere is super swank and unique. The restaurant is located in a shopping mall but I was pleasantly surprised about how nice the inside was decorated. There is even a large bar and outdoor patio that looked nice. The bad: -Brunch is a fixed menu with literally one choice that included two eggs, a pitiful portion of home fries, fruit and two pieces of toast and two strips over bacon -The waiter was an idiot and insulting. I didn't want any bacon so I said I'm a vegetarian and could I substitute the Bacon for an extra helping of home fries or maybe another egg. He responded that they're pretty stingy at this place so that I shouldn't get my hopes up and they were probably just up charge me if I wanted more food even if I wasn't getting the bacon. I asked him if he could at least ask and what would be the harm?and he said yeah sure I can ask I guess. He later came back to take everyone's orders and completely missed me when asking about how I wanted my eggs done. I asked him I said I think you forgot to ask me how I want my eggs done, I will take them over easy please. He responded, "I was a vegetarian and I couldn't eat eggs". I responded and said no no I just asked you about substituting more eggs instead of having bacon because I'm a vegetarian and vegetarians don't eat bacon. He proceeded to argue with me and say that he thought vegetarians didn't eat eggs because we considered eggs to be baby fetuses. I responded that no I'm a vegetarian and I know what vegetarians do and don't eat and I think you have me confused with a vegan. A vegan does not eat eggs or any dairy products or any animal products. He simply laughed at me and took my order. Then when the food arrived I didn't get any bacon thank God but I also did not get anything extra no extra toast or eggs or fruit. And I still had to pay the $15 for this meal like everyone else. -when the food came out 4 people out of the 10 people in the party were missing both toast and home fries from their meal. We had to tell the waiter and he had to bring us the additional food items that the chef missed on the plate. Overall I would not recommend this place for brunch to anyone. I am not really sure where this place thinks it is located charging these absurd prices. It is one thing if you are getting some kind of super special meal of amazing quality, then you can charge the big money. This place however does not. The appetizers are some of the smallest I have ever seen and are all around 15 dollars. 3 scallops for 15? no thanks. 3 pieces of fat sliced bacon for 12 dollars? no thanks 5 little dimented looking wings for 11? i'll pass I predict that no one will be going to prime in 10 months, I surely will not. read more

SO DISAPPOINTING! My boyfriend and I went attempted to dine here last Friday night, it was a huge waste of our time. The hostess let us know there would be a 45 minute wait for a table which was no big deal. It took us 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar, all 3 bartenders where at the opposite side of the bar. When we were finally seated after waiting over an hour for a table we were completely ignored. The waitstaff kept walking past us not acknowledging we there! Finally after 10 minutes someone brought us over water. Then again ignored again. No one ever came back to take our order. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant before, not one person working there realized we were not being helped. Finally after waiting for a waiter for over a half hour we got up and left. So not only after bad service I got charged 100 bucks for someone else's tab because I left my debit card in my check holder after already signing my 30 dollar tab. I called them numerous times, left voicemails, spoke with waiters who said I had to call back and speak to the owner, called when they said he would be there with no answer and never received a call back! Just had a wonderful dinner at Prime 111 after not having been there for quite awhile, mostly due to scheduling and lack of time to go out to dinner. The wonderful thing about Prime is after not having been there for 8-12 months it is still consistent, still the best Filet I have had in this area. It was great to see our friend Bill Murray again, now in the role of manager. Great food - not as great service. We waited a half hour for a table after making a reservation the day before. Once we were seated it took a server a little while to acknowledge us. Get new waitstaff. Immediately. Two stars because the food was good and Mark, the shift supervisor corrected MAJOR issues. Went on Sat at 6pm for date night. Got seated right away. Our waitress came over and was completely devoid of any personality. I am 7 mo pregnant and asked if I could get a non-alcoholic mojito. She looked at me like I had 2 heads and said, "I don't know how they'd make that." I responded that it's a mojito without the alcohol, and, because she was so puzzled, I asked if the bartender could do something with strawberries. She responded that "strawberries aren't in season" (REALLY?! it's June). I asked if they could do something else without alcohol and she just said I'm not really sure - and stared at me. I gave up at that point and told her I'd stick with water. My husband went to the bar himself and ordered me something. Our Philly Cheesesteak eggrolls came quick and were delicious! Then, our waitress took our dinner order - we both got the steak burger. She did not ask if I wanted cheese and my husband had to tell me to ask for it. I ordered cheddar. My husband ordered his with cheddar and bacon. The table beside us ordered a seasonal mojito - which was cranberry. The waitress returned with a STRAWBERRY MOJITO and said they had switched the seasonal flavor. She made no attempt to address me and the fact that she made a mistake, even though I was 6 inches to her left. She avoided eye contact and walked away, even though she knew I was angry. At that point my husband went to the hostess and asked for a manager. Mark came over and I explained what transpired, and that it was early in the dinner but we weren't pleased with our experience thus far and we wanted a new server. He seemed as equally confused as I was as to why she told me I could not have a virgin mojito and furthermore, why she told me Strawberry was not in season. He brought me one and offered us coffee and dessert on the house. He took over as our server from that point. 30 min after our appetizer, our burgers came out - my husband's with Cheddar and American cheese (ew) no bacon. So, not only did the waitress fail to know the bar menu, judge me, and make no attempt to suggest a drink, she didn't listen to our order. We sent them back. Mark returned, looking horrified, and he asked to confirm the order. 15 min later the burgers came out correct. They were, thankfully, very good. My husband and I decided that we did not want dessert. Mark returned and said that our meal was on the house, and that he wanted us to leave feeling positive, and apologized for the terrible service, and he hoped we would come back and try again. This turned the whole experience around for us. I don't know how soon we'll be back, if ever, but I really hope Prime can find some waitstaff that measures up to what they charge - if your average entree is 20 bucks (not including the expensive steaks) then you should serve people at that level. The good is good, but the hostesses were so rude (one in particular named Gianna). I made a reservation a week in advance and asked for a quiet corner, which they agreed to do on the phone. When we got there, the hostess tried to put us at the worst tables in the place-- right outside the bathrooms and kitchen. While the atmosphere and staff were above average, this is not a true "prime aged" steak destination. The menu said that the steaks were aged 28 days, but the porterhouse did not have the flavor or texture to reflect a well aged piece of meat... But the prices did. The problem here is the servers. Our waiter was loudly complaining to the hostess how much he hated his job, and clearly didn't care about giving us any service. Unexpected surprise for a shopping plaza steak house, our server Jeff D was knowledgeable and very funny, so we had him order our meal which we were very pleased with, our food came out quickly and cooked to perfection. Bar is well stocked, clean and staffed with real bartenders. Outside patio with fireplace is fantastic for relaxing with a glass of wine after dinner. Prime 111 is really close to my job so it's convenient for a quick lunch occasionally. The executive lunch special is a great value especially the pan seared scallops. The decor and atmosphere is modern and really trendy. Really a great place to eat and hang out by the fire or on the patio. I would give 5 stars if the beer list was better! read more

Came here with a girlfriend of mine on a Friday, during the happy hour special. We got seated right away. Placed our drinks and went up to the All-You-Can-Eat RAW bar!! (for $10!) Fresh oysters and clams being shucked right in front of you. And large, meaty shrimp. Everything was good. The staff was very friendly. The host was slightly rude, since we said we only wanted happy hour, that we would have to move for "reservations". I'm sure if we wanted dinner we would have been fine, but it was how she said it. The Sunday lunch crowd is low key, and the Friday night crowd is loud and fun. And even in both situations, the food was pretty incredible. Go for the "out of their shell" roll. So fresh, so buttery! With a big crowd, the place can get a bit loud. The high ceilings echo and amplify the sounds of people having a good time. The wait staff is pleasant and are always bustling around. While they had an appealing aesthetic and impressive draft selection, the burger I ordered was underwhelming. Ordered medium rare, it was delivered much closer to medium. Additionally, it was quite tall and difficult to eat, especially when the juice of the burger combined with two tomato slices and was too much for the thin bun. The steak fries helped a bit, but my overall impression left much to be desired. Since it was my first visit, I'll be back for a second chance but it will take a significant improvement to make me a regular customer. read more

I was looking for a new restaurant to check out in Trumbull and my friend suggested this one and I'm glad she did. 4 of us were meeting for dinner on a Saturday night so my girlfriend called to make a reservation for 7:30pm, but she was told they don't take reservations until after 8pm, that I definitely thought was odd. Anyway we still arrived at 7:30 and were able to sit down. The venue has a rustic theme but still somewhat modern. I liked the look of the bar area as well. The menu isn't very big as far as options, but I ended up settling on the Lobster Cobb Salad and it was very good, it had a good sized portion of lobster. My friend had the Salmon over asparagus and that looked very good as well. Boyfriend had the Lobster Roll which he liked but it wasn't very big, and the macaroni and cheese which he did not really like, but I tried it and thought it was good, I think there may have been truffle oil in it and he's not a huge fan and wasn't expecting it. They had some cool looking bacon appetizer that we didn't order but several other tables did and it's a very cool presentation. We asked one of the waiters about it and he was extremely knowledgeable about the process and gave us a thorough explanation which was nice. The only thing I would have liked was to have been offered some bread for the table while we were waiting for our dinner, or even to go with my salad, but our waitress never offered. The price was pretty reasonable and I will certainly come back to eat here again to try some of their steaks! read more

The loudest restaurant EVER!!! Kitchen was super slow. We were a party of 7 on a Tuesday night. Food took a really long time to come out. It was so loud you couldn't even have a conversation. At one point we were calling each other across the table to ask questions. Funny yes- we had a good giggle. Would return only for lunch if it wasn't crowded. The noise level was truly annoying.
