I ordered rib eye medium. It came served as being with little to no pink showing. I cut in half and showed waitress, who removed steak and then brought another that was raw in center. I again complained and then the cost of the steak was removed from the bill. Nothing further from anybody in charge. I sent an email which was returned as undeliverable to the email they have on their facebook page. I did it old school and sent a letter addressed to the owner with a picture of the raw steak and did not even receive a return letter. Poor handling of isuue by them and we will not go there again. read more

Went for Mother's Day brunch and the experience was AWFUL. Food: chicken and waffles and lobster Benedict. $25 for 3 chicken tenders and bisquick waffle.... seriously?! The Hollandaise sauce was downright gross (and we were there at opening). Drinks: Our mimosa had chunks of orange floating in it and was so pulpy that we couldn't finish the drink. Covid: This is the place where they get 1 star. Covid still very much exists. Between the restaurant letting people in without wearing a mask at all, the bar tenders going back and forth between wearing a mask, having it only over their mouth, and then only around their chin. Lastly, we were sitting at the bar and then sitting someone down right next to us without any divider or 6 foot separation and when we asked for space the bartender told us to deal with it and it wasn't a big deal. $75 wasted. read more

Been going here since they first opened! Great casual atmosphere, with an awesome outdoor patio (with TVs)! There's something for everyone on the menu, with new things always being added. Four stars for bar/bartenders and two for dining room. For starters, the bartenders are super nice, accommodating, efficient, know what they're doing and they do it fast. Nothing too complicated about that I should hope but instead of yes/no, which I was expecting, the host/water bearer/busser looked at me like I asked him a trig question. "Her and me. Can we sit?" Luckily the manager was flagged down and we were seated. I ordered the Filet Mignon Chili while my sister had the raw bar buffet. Took a fair amount of time for my chili to arrive but not terribly long. In the meantime my sister was knee deep on oyster shells and shrimp, which SHE LOVED!! The chili was hot, spicy, and bold. Cute little arrangement of tortilla chips around the bowl.. The filet was dry, stringy, and just not good. Truth be told, I ordered this because I was curious how they would pull off not drying out the filet.. They didn't. The first five minutes were fine but as the chile began to cool, the swirl of cheese in the center began to harden... And harden. I don't want to use a knife on my chilis, so opted to forego the mass in the center and eat around it for another minute. Getting the check proved more difficult than being seated. Asked waiter twice and eventually had to flag down the manager who took care of it. This guy is the saving grace of the establishment. I consider myself a generous reviewer and I think the two star rating on dining is actually generous. Tip: Order at the bar.. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals! I ordered the steak sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount and quality of the steak. They have me a steak knife but I did not need it. The steak was so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth. My only suggestion is they add a baby changing station in the restroom. There was absolutely no place to change a baby here. Went out last weekend for a date night out, very busy and loud, as expected. Had cocktails and split the tuna tartare appetizer. All good so far. Side Caesar salads came out first and were fresh and crisp. My husband ordered the pork chop scarpeillo cooked medium and I ordered shrimp po boy, my meal came out but nothing for hubby, after 10 minutes the waitress went to check and returned saying that his meal was being plated. 20 minutes later out comes the pork chop, raw in the middle. We were ready to go by then and asked for the check, The manager asked what happened we explained, stating we no longer wanted dinner and to please bring the check. Can't say how the po boy was as I did not try it and we couldn't split it as hubby is allergic to shellfish. But luckily received a bill for 49 dollars. Should be thankful they didn't try and charge us for the entire meal. It's going to be a while before I return if at all, if there is a problem with a meal just tell the truth!! I rarely post reviews, positive or negative, but I feel I must vent about our experience last evening. I had a reservation for eight people for dinner to celebrate college graduation. We arrived 10 minutes before our res time and checked in with five people. Three in our party canceled at the last minute. After 10-15 minutes, we were seated inside but at tables and chairs brought in from the patio and placed where a table didn't exist. The place was packed, dare I say illegally, overcrowded. The back of my chair touched the end of the table next to us. If my daughter sat in that seat, her hair would have been lying on the other guest's table. My wife was bumped into no less than forty times by wait staff and food runners with maybe just two apologies. Food runners were flying past with hot food over her head, including sparking birthday desserts. Our server was polite but overworked. Our appetizer hit the table about an hour after we were seated, and dinner arrived 5-10 minutes later. Dinner was sent back to the kitchen. The food was fantastic, and our server was doing his best. The graduation overwhelmed the kitchen. They should have turned people away at some point and not dangerously overcrowded the restaurant. We eat out quite a bit, and honestly, this was one of the least enjoyable dining experiences we've had. read more

My mother got a salad and a baked potato, I got the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls which were absolutely delicious, a side of fries oh, and for dessert my parents shared the creme brulee and I got berries and cream. Seriously so disappointed in prime. I order here at least once every 3-4 weeks for business lunches and have been satisfied/impressed until today. Client and mine ordered the $17 prime salad and you can see what we received for take out. The photo is no joke. Literally 1/4 of an avocado and a tiny bit of crab. No lettuce or anything else. We literally thought these were just the toppings and we were missing the majority of the salad. Pathetic. Especially because lettuce is the most inexpensive ingredient. Very disappointed. Went for lunch here today. I can definitely see parking being an issue at busy times. The restaurant atmosphere was comfortable, clean, and simplistic. The service was attentive. My boyfriend had the prime steak burger. It was cooked perfect, but the French fries had no crunch to them. I had the fig & goat cheese flatbread which was delicious, I wouldn't change anything with it. I would definitely recommend trying prime one eleven. I just got charged for a 18oz steak when I ordered and got a14oz one the $17.00 difference wasn't worth causing a fuss about. I still left a 20% tip but when I pointed out the error I got an apology but no effort was made to correct it. They charged my card very quickly for the tip....just as I walked out. My wife and I have had dinner here a half a dozen times , the food is always great. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the seafood is delicious. The atmosphere is classy enough for a nice date yet rustic if your casually dressed . The serves is great if you can get passed the hostess. The hostess on the other hand was terrible. Shockingly, I have only been once. Had the bada bang shrimp and boneless chicken wings to start. The shrimp were really good and the boneless wings were fine. Had the New York strip that was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Sides were fine (creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes). Overall, the shrimp starter and the steak were both great (I work in NYC and hit all the top steakhouses frequently) and the other starter and sides were pretty good. It is expensive - steaks were probably $10 less than you would pay in NYC (my Dry aged my strip was $50 - a bit pricey for middle of nowhere CT) but they were close in quality to what you would get in nyc. I have been here a couple times and always enjoy myself. I have a friend who lives nearby, and it is the best new American/steakhouse option in this area. They know how to make a good cocktail, and I enjoy the chicken bruschetta sandwich. On weekends, the bar area is pretty crowded, but you don't have to wait too long to be seated. read more

I have to agree concerning the hostesses. Seriously, do these scantily dressed HS girls think they are important? My older College-aged children walked in ahead of my husband and I and the girl who was younger than one of my sons asked if their parents were with them, in a rude and dismissive way. Had I known this before I ordered, I would have walked out. This was a few weeks ago during their break, but I must state I haven't been back since, The owner hired snotty hostess staff at his place in Shelton too...it must be the type. BUYER BE-HAIR Debated posting this but it needs to be shared after the atrocity of my dinner last night. We went to Prime 111 to celebrate a birthday and I ordered the wagyu filet as an extra special meal for myself. When the dish was placed down in front of me, there was a long hair WRAPPED around my steak. I flagged down our waiter, who was obviously swamped with tables, and told him. He took my plate and apologized. I went to the bathroom while I presumed I would just be made a new steak as any restaurant would do to come back and be told that the waiter came over and said it was obviously my hair (it's important to note that my hair was pushed behind my shoulders the entire night and there was no way I could have wrapped my own hair around a piece of cooked meat) the waiter came over to me and said "so the hair was blonde and nobody in the kitchen has blonde hair except the hostess. Do you want a new steak or do you want them to just fry it up for you" (fry?). At this point I'm pretty upset. I looked around and found said hostess, who had her blonde hair in a loose bun, running food and going in and out of the kitchen. I asked for a new steak. After about 15 minutes, the waiter came back and told me it was going to be another 2. No problem, it's a fat steak and I was willing to wait. WELL, the blonde haired hostess brought the steak over and said NOTHING, but the minute I cut into it, it was cold and practically still mooing(ordered medium). With empty water glasses for the entire table and our server obviously busting his butt to provide mediocre service to his huge section, I decided to just ask for a box and not complain again at risk of ruining a special evening. For a $70 steak, I am beyond upset that no management came over to apologize and I was blamed for a kitchens incompetence. This restaurant should have higher standards for the way it treats its guests. read more

Updating my review to 4 stars! There's one thing that they need to fix. The hostesses at the door are not at all welcoming. They didn't make eye contact, barely greeted us, seemed very into their phones. It was a Saturday night but it wasn't very busy at the time yet we had the feeling we were bothering them. One note: I don't know why anyone would say this is a kid friendly restaurant. Maybe they have a kids menu. But it is more of a date night place, upscale bar/Restaurant, not appropriate for kids. I hadn't been here for a couple of years because, to be honest, we found it pretty unimpressive in terms of food and service. The environment is cool, but that doesn't get you too far. I am so excited that they have truly stepped it up in food quality. The menu is fantastic, with more options and everything is executed really well. I had the seafood chowder (no bread bowl) and it was very well balanced. Not too rich and the poblanos offered a nice little kick. Very good. I also had the lobster Cobb. Huge salad with excellent thick cut bacon pieces, egg, blue cheese, tomato, and very fresh crisp lettuce. Dressing was perfect. And I hate dressing. I got it on the side. My husband ordered the Delmonico steak and was pleased. Our waiter was very good, quick and knowledgeable about drinks and food. read more

I had a business meeting on a Friday and ordered the the filet mignon. Absolutely one of the best I've had. One of the main issues is that it was so packed and no noise suppression that you had to raise your voice for the person across you to hear what you're saying. Great place but can be better. Very variable experience, but not a great experience overall as one would expect from the prices. I was there with a large group for a birthday party. Upon arrival we found out that they cancelled our reservation saying someone called to cancel (which was BS).... After a prolonged wait we were seat. To their credit, management did try to make it right by offering wine and apps on the house. Apps actually were pretty good, standard fair. Bacon on a hanger was creative and delicious. Kudos to them for that. Servers were great. For ambience, this place is great. Open design with a large fireplace, and a busy bar. Great festive feel. My biggest disappointment were the entrees. The ingredients were top quality. From the steak to the seafood, they looked beautiful. As this is a steak house, I'd expect they do one thing really well.... But the first disappointment was a medium rare fillet mignon done more medium well. After our waiter tried to explain "this is how we do medium rare", he took it back without much fuss. I mean com'on, that's the crap you'd expect from Apple Bee's. But for 50 bucks a serving, they needed to get it right. So 15 minutes later, a second beautiful fillet came out.... I think the cow was still moving. Now it was too rare. At this point, Goldilocks (us) decided to just pack it up and fire it ourselves at home. So the steak wasn't great, in hind sight, they might have mixed up our steak with another at the other end of the table. But no huge deal...the meat was excellent quality, and is redeemable, and I'm making steak and eggs for breakfast now. I also tried the ahi tuna. Great beautiful fish, cooked rare, perfectly. Unfortunately not much creative talent went into this. It sat on a bed of bok choi and noodles. The only way to describe this was SALTY! The noodles felt like were cooked and soaked in soy sauce and then served, the fish had salt and soy externally, bok choi also swam in soy. Would it kill the chef to put a bit of yuzu or sesame oil on the noodles? Or just a bit Tahini sauce or pepper oil? (I don't mind if they take these ideas). Overall, this place has potential to become what it looks like. However, they are not there yet. The staff was great...except whoever screwed up our reservation. The quality of food is there, but not the talent. Would revisit if they improve on the food. read more

Well, needless to say this has become our spot during this horrific COVID experience. We have been enjoying Prime even before this mess but since it's so close to home we've made this almost a weekly occurrence. Our favorite order is the tomahawk. Made to perfection every time! So we had an amazing going away dinner for our PM and I ordered the bone on filet. Ordered it Medium and a small piece if the center was medium but the rest of it was "well done." Sent it back and they took so long I cancelled it. My party of 10 were done eating. Asked to speak with a manager and was told the Owner would be out. Explained the situation and he began to get Offensive saying the edges should be well done but the center should not. Explained I'm accustomed to fine dining and the filet was over cooked. we've dined here several times in the past two years and never really had a problem until this last time. our waiter greeted us we put in our drink order and then we order nachos, he asked us if we wanted anything on them and we said chili, the nachos came without chili so we made our server aware and they bought us out a bowl of chili which we ended up putting on top. Not quite the same but we were okay with it. then it was time to put in our dinner order, we ordered a burger, a chicken sandwich and a wedge salad. When we go there we always order the wedge salad because its the only salad my husband likes and we always share it. the waiter brings out a chopped salad and when we made him aware of his mistake he got all defensive and showed us his pad and said see I wrote chopped salad, as if we ordered the wrong salad. I said to him well then you wrote the wrong thing I told you the wedge salad. He got a terrible attitude, took the salad away and then came back and plopped down a wedge salad. Then he went over to the counter where the other servers were and was visibly talking about us and looking over at our table. we have never had an experience like this before. We went to the manager who was very apologetic and assigned us with a new server who was very sweet but at this point we just wanted to leave, so we packed up our food and left. we couldn't believe the treatment from the server and will not be going back again. Simply the best restaurant in the State of Connecticut, I have heard from some that they feel it's a bit overpriced but for the quality of the food it's in line with other top restaurants. Great atmosphere, plenty of room and Covid Safe ...
